Boba milk tea with oatmilk regular sweet. On the less sweet scale and boba was very good. Perfect texture. Strawberry Matcha with oatmilk was decent. Located inside 2nd & PCH shopping center on the Marina side towards the parking lot on the other side of Whole Foods. entrance. I usually park at the Marina side if there's parking available.
I have been here twice now. The first time was probably a few years ago. I recalled that I didn't like what I ordered. This time around, the same. I ordered a lychee oolong. Not sure if they ran out of oolong, but there was no tea flavor at all?? I felt like I was drinking lychee juice or something. Maybe they are popular for their strawberry matcha milk? Since Boba Guys opened, I heard good things about it. Maybe I happened to order the wrong drink. I don't think I will be back, but if I do...I will try their milk drinks.
Always stopping by here when I'm at 2nd and PCH. The rose black tea, strawberry matcha latte, and lychee oolong tea are my top favorites. I love that their drinks here are not as sweet but flavorful and refreshing. Tons of seating to hang out at. On occasion, they have a live musician on the stage by the grassy area. Good drinks. Fast service.
Came here on a random weekday, and it was empty. I expected better service given so, but one of the workers just looked at me through the open door while I was standing at the register. At least a simple hi or a wave would suffice. Also, it still took some time before the worker walked over to me even though she made eye contact with me already and there was no one else waiting to order. Keep in mind, there were two workers in the back. The drinks were okay. Not super bad, but not super great where I would go out of my way to drive back here for preference. I tried the Tie Guan Yin Oolong Milk Tea and liked the light taste, but I've also tried TP Tea's version of the Tie Guan Yin Oolong Milk Tea and TP Tea's tasted light but more flavorful in comparison. My mom tried their Classic Black Milk Tea, which was good-- can't really go wrong with a black milk tea at a boba shop, so it's a safe choice. I do like how this place is outdoors and you get the fresh air by the ocean, so that's a plus with the outdoor seating. Just wish that service was better overall.
My son and his friend's favorite boba place! Yummy! I'm trying the different boba flavors! He likes the banana one and the strawberry one. My friend likes the rose boba. It's an acquired taste. Tastes fancy and healthy. Great staff! Great place to sit and relax and hang out and shop around after! Thank you guys!
Idk if it's this particular drink but I thought it was pretty average. I still enjoyed it since we worked out before. The boba was slightly hard and it was difficult to chew. Also maybe because it was later in the day, I just felt rushed to order since they were cleaning up? But the location is nice since there's plenty of seating. My friends and I were craving boba and wanted something sweet but I don't think I'll be coming back unfortunately.
the wait time was incredibly long, so we even went over our parking time limit waiting 30 minutes for 2 drinks. i've definitely had better experiences with this location. considering the price, the slow service, high prices, and small sizes mean that i will not be coming back. strawberry matcha: 8/10 hojicha latte: 8/10
We went for the Boba guys X Laneige event and was disappointed by the organization and attitude of the employees. We got there at 9:30 and the Bobo guys did not open until 11, but there were definitely people cutting and saving spots. While it is not the employees fault that the event was not organized, they were rude when we were ordering. I was also disappointed that they kept us waiting in between orders since everyone was basically only getting one drink. They also would not let us make any modifications to the drink. While me and my friend just missed the free full sized product, we were handed a small sample. I was also disappointed to see that some drinks were poorly made, especially since we waited so long. The drink itself wasn't bad, just really sweet. I liked that it was made with coconut milk, but the toasted coconut on top tasted like plastic and seemed to be there just as a decorative touch. Overall I would not trust this Boba guy's location. It's definitely not the same quality. I've tried at other locations. Also, the location is like an outdoor stand in the middle of a wind tunnel, so it's freezing cold.
Interesting location. They are on the marina side of 2ND & PCH, like in a tunnel between Noble Bird and Lululemon. It gets super windy, especially in the evenings. There's plenty of seating if you want to linger. The large aardvark logo on the white brick walls is a good background for drink pictures. Not counting the short-lived Our Place pop-up, this is my least favorite Boba Guys. Drink standards and boba texture isn't as consistent compared to what I've gotten at their other cafes. I liked Classic Black when I first went several years ago. Recently, not as much. Too much ice, the sugar percentages are off, or the tea just isn't there. The toppings on my last visit were solid like rocks. I tried the Strawberry Fields and it was boring. The Horchata was watery. I didn't think the caramel and matcha latte combination went well together. So I'll probably stick to their other locations.
Walking around 2nd and PCH and couldn't resist a Boba stop! Very impromptu but so worth it! The strawberry matcha adds an excellent flavor profile to your typical iced matcha. We added boba to complete the perfect drink!
Hong Kong milk tea was strong, not too sweet (100% sweetness, extra tea) and it really hot the spot. I love that the staff taking our orders was also very friendly and helpful. It was my first time getting boba guys and I'm not sure if the drinks are going to be overly sweet or not. So she recommended getting 100% sweetness, with extra tea. Great recommendation! Plenty of seats and there's even a grassy area, which I guess is meant for kids/dogs.
I've been coming here since it opened. It's conveniently located so you can grab your favorite to sip on while shopping at 2nd and PCH. My usual go to is a matcha latte and I sometimes switch it up to the matcha strawberry. The boba is chewy yet not too soft. The ube latte is sweet with coconut milk. They also have non caffeinated drinks for kids!
When thinking about boba inside a really nice plaza by the beach, I imagined it to be pretentious and expensive, but that's not the case! Pros: - the drinks were absolutely delicious and refreshing! I particularly enjoyed the lychee oolong and the ube latter. I'll have to try other drinks the next time I'm there. - the prices are fair. It's not cheap and is about $1 more than the usually boba place, but given the quality and location, I think it's a fair price. - customer service was on point. When we arrived, no one was standing outside, but they were sure to pay attention and stepped out to greet us within a few seconds. My drink was a bit sweet for me and they were more than happy to add more ice for me as well. Cons: - the boba was just ok, I've had better elsewhere. Given that their name is "Boba Guys", I was surprised that their boba was just ok. - the cups are extremely flimsy. Given the price point and quality of the drink, I thought it would be nice if they had sturdier cups. As I hold the drink in hand, the cup feels like it can easily collapse. Overall, it's a great place and if I'm back at the plaza, I'd stop by again for a drink. read more

Came here on a Sunday hoping it wouldn't be crowded, but it turns out everyone else was also craving boba guys that day when the line died down I was helped by Tiffany, who gave me drink recommendations and took the time to help me decide what I should get (bless her soul because I'm really indecisive). Strawberry Matcha Latte: 5/5 ($5.25) This is Boba Guys' signature drink and for good reason! It's made with organic matcha, housemade strawberry puree, and your choice of milk (no extra cost!!). I would recommend oat milk for the best dairy-free alternative. I fell in love with this drink when I had it in SF. I'm so glad they opened up this location in Long Beach AND they make the drink the exact same way as the one I remembered. Now I don't have to travel to NorCal to get my Boba Guys fix! I tried the Boba Guys location in Culver City, but, unfortunately, it tasted nothing like the one I had in SF. Maybe because I visited early on when they first opened up their location and/or it was a bad day, but I haven't been back to that location ever since. read more
Nice location staff was helpful. I got the seasonal mango sticky rice drink and do not recommend. It tasted like the rice had gone bad and the milk was spoiled. We did ask the staff if we could get a different drink. The employee did let us know that the drink was a hit or miss. But even while drinking this beverage there was a foul smell to it. We were shocked by the taste that we ended up with a simple jasmine iced tea. But even the jasmine tea tasted more like a Ceylon black tea. read more
I had no idea that was even a Boba Guys location here. I stopped by the mall for some lunch and got hyped when I saw the Boba Guys logo. LOCATION & PARKING // There is a ton of parking on the street or in the parking garage since it's located in the outdoor mall. The shop itself looks more like a popup. There isn't a direct storefront but it looks more like a stand. You may miss it if you are looking for a store. DRINKS // I ordered two STRAWBERRY MATCHA LATTES. Classic, obviously. It was my mom's first time and she really enjoyed it. For me, it tasted exactly like the other strawberry matcha lattes I've ever had from Boba Guys. Super creamy, sweet but not sickly sweet, and refreshing! Highly recommend. SERVICE // There wasn't a line at all and we got our drinks pretty quickly. Nothing to complain about here. OVERALL // 4 stars Exciting to have a location here! I love that it doesn't have the chaotic energy that most other Boba Guys locations have. read more
If you have a penchant for subpar boba with above average price, you'll find it right here. The menu was not impressive or innovative either, and I ordered an orchata boba drink. It's just okay, and it's less rich than most traditional orchata recipe. The boba was not particularly tender or chewy either. Everything felt underwhelming. At least the service was good, and there was no line on a Saturday afternoon (perhaps that's an indication of the demand), and the setting was pretty at 2nd & PCH. I guess I am partly paying for the view and the expensive lease for the business. read more

Funny shop name. Okay, drinks. Wish they had actual fruits in the fruity ones. For example, strawberry lychee milk tea seemed like a fruit syrup. Cute surroundings. It's kind of loud in the hallway, though. We didn't notice if they served any food or snacks. Easy parking in the structure. read more
Boba Guys is the definition of a thirst trap! I strolled by Boba Guys at 2nd & PCH and their deliciously colorful drinks instantly caught my attention. I'm a sucker for a good matcha latte, so I ordered the 16oz strawberry matcha with oat milk. Holy crap. This is hands down the best matcha latte I've ever tasted - and if you look back on my go-to beverage reviews, I've ordered quite a bit. The oat milk helped to make the drink texture thick and creamy, and the strawberry jelly was sweet without being overwhelming. While I went sans-boba this go-around, I've had the opportunity to try boba from Boba Guys in the past, and it's always served warm and perfectly chewy. This is one boba chain you do not want to miss out on. read more

Who knew I loved boba so much. I came here the other day, this was at the mall at 2nd and PCH. I ordered the ube latte with boba. That one is already dairy-free because it's made with coconut cream. The other boba drinks can also be made dairy-free if requested, except for one, I think the Thai Tea. You can usually alter the sweetness of their drinks (50% sweet, 25% sweet) but I couldn't alter it with the ube. She said she would happily change it out if I thought it was too sweet, which was really nice and great customer service. I ended up loving my drink, it wasn't too sweet, was coconut-y and the boba was yummy. I would definitely recommend if you like coconut. I had a sip of the classic boba too which tasted good, the tea tasted strong. read more
I'm a HUGE fan of their boba. It has the perfect consistency between firmness and chewiness. I'm not kidding when I say that their boba is top 5 for me. I've had Boba Guys at other locations but don't remember it being this good. I've been multiple times now and my favorite so far is the black sugar hojica. It's not too sweet and the roasted green tea permeates throughout the drink. They get really creative with their drinks and the mango sticky rice is an interesting drink to say the least. They have a variety of options that will suit your taste buds but no matter what you pick, you can count on the boba being superb! read more

Ordered online about 15 minutes before arriving. Drink wasn't ready yet when I arrived. Matcha has to be mixed still when you get it flavor was okay 7/10 I think this place is a pass for me. Banana milk was super super sweet. All in all cool trendy looking place. read more

Nice and quick service; there is hardly ever a wait or line at this location making it my favorite. Paired with quality good drinks and a great convenient location in a large shopping dining plaza so you can grab everything in one place (lunch, dinner, drinks, and dessert). I have had boba guys many times in San Francisco, LA, and now LB. I'm so glad they are expanding. The boba is delicious and consistent; always chewy and the right sweetness. The only drink that tastes good here and is unique to boba guys is the strawberry matcha latte. I have not had it made this well anywhere else. All of the flavors mix well even though they sound odd. I have tried their horchata it was not good at all it tasted like watered-down almond milk. read more
I'm sure I'm super late...but this Bay Area girl couldn't be anymore thrilled to have a Boba Guys (multiple locations) in SoCal. Don't get me wrong. There are definitely some great places down here, but Boba Guys is my favorite spot from up north. Still in shock, I took a trip to their Long Beach location to see if it lived up to that Boba Guys freshness I know from the Bay, and in short...there was no disappointment. My first sip tasted like home. Ordered my usual; a 16oz Strawberry Matcha Latte with Oatmilk and Boba. The matcha and strawberry puree complemented each other exceptionally in which both flavors were distinct without being overpowering. The oatmilk added a nice richness to the latte. The boba was the perfect texture - soft, just the right amount of chewiness, and super clean tasting. The whole drink was super clean tasting, which is one of the things they pride themselves in and what makes Boba Guys one of my favorite boba spots of all time. The Long Beach location was able to service customers with a smile, efficiently pump out drinks, and execute the drinks in a speedy manner without sacrificing taste or quality. The Long Beach Boba Guys will now be my go to spot for boba when in the area. If you are one the fence about giving them a try, put all your doubts aside and go for it. #42 on my milk/tea store adventure. I had first heard about Boba Guys when I went to San Francisco a few months back, and I had actually walked to the store from my hotel but it unfortunately it had been closed for a while (their Yelp page wasn't updated). Anyways, I recently learned they actually had locations here in SoCal and one happened to be close to home! Located in 2nd at PCH, the plaza itself is amazing. It was my first time coming here and I really liked the vibes. Online orders only at this time. The first night I swung by with my friend I ordered the Black sugar Hojicha, and my second visit I ordered their famous Strawberry matcha latte. The drinks were alright but I didn't love either. The Black Sugar Hochija had a strong roasted flavor. I think it was actually my first time trying a hojicha drink. As for the Strawberry matcha latte, I felt like the strawberry jam in the drink was too sweet. Now mind you I love sweet drinks so it didn't bother me too much, but I kept comparing it with my favorite strawberry matcha latte from a different store, and the version here just does not compete- the strawberry base was too artificially sweet and didn't taste as natural. Like I said, my drinks weren't bad but I didn't love them either. read more

My friend recommended this boba place so we dropped by during lunch today. First time here and I give it 4-stars. Lychee Oolong Boba: my friend ordered this and she gave it 5/5. Thai Tea Boba: I was debating on which drink to get so I turned to the owner for his recommendations. He said this drink is his favorite so I presumed it can't be bad, right? Well, I give it 4/5. The drink was pretty good, and the boba was chewy but a little too hard for my taste. I prefer the boba consistency at Xing Fu Tang over Boba Guys. I asked for less ice but it still came with lots of ice which diluted the drink. This location was clean and cute. read more

Haven't been to Boba Guys since I was living in NorCal, so I didn't realize there was a Boba Guys in SoCal. Then again I've never been to 2nd & PCH before. Ordered the Classic Black Milk Tea at 50% sugar since I haven't been here in a while. It's solid as expected, you can tell they use real tea instead of powder. Really good quality stuff as expected. With COVID-19, they are using a touchless/contactless system using Square. Basically, scan the QR code to get the menu, put your order in online, and wait for them to give you your drink. Pretty straightforward. read more

The Niki drink was so refreshing. We also ordered the strawberry matcha, passionfruit fresca & the korean banana milk. All of their drinks were so good and refreshing!! The service was also quick and the ambiance was nice!! Would definitely recommend & will comeback to try out the other flavors!! read more

Food: boba guys boba is genuinely the best strawberry matcha ever nothing else can compare, the mango matcha was a new drink we tried but it kinda tastes like a really healthy green juice but i won't take off points in my review just because i tried something new vibes: it's in a little corner shop in 2nd and PCH in the open parking lot which is a lot more easier to get if you wanna drop by service: the workers are nice and friendly and they gave me and extra drink when they made the drink wrong overall- such a great place i recommend to everyone that drinks boba read more

No sweetness customizations through app 4. No milk alternative customizations (just whatever the online description says) 5. No almond jelly ;( Still, I love Boba Guys. Their drinks are not overly sweet. Boba quality is fresh and chewy. Ingredients seem fresh. Unique menu. Drinks: ** Strawberry Matcha Latte ** Matcha quality is good. Not overly sweet. Strawberry jam on the bottom plays well with the matcha flavor, adding slight tartness without overpowering the matcha (a lot of places mess this up - cough- Bubble Crush and Junbi in SGV) Honestly, A LOT of boba places try to copy Boba Guys' Strawberry Matcha- but it's not the same! And ends up too sweet or the milk quality makes it taste sour or the strawberry tastes artificial. Go to Boba Guys; stop trying to find a replacement fix!! I have been wanting to try boba guys FOREVER, ever since they picture of their strawberry matcha was floating around IG in the early days. Anyways, fast forward to this weekend and I stumbled across a/the boba guys randomly. Ordered a large strawberry field, (I quit caffinee) with regular milk, and boy do I regret that. The most important thing is the boba, and it was hard. It was so bad that I ended up tossing it, not worth the money or calories lol. Maybe the other flavors seem good, the pandan and the black sesame seemed interesting. My final verdict is that if I ever come across it again, I would try it one more time and try maybe the black sesame one. Hopefully the boba will be soft next time. read more

I was so sad when I moved out of LA because the boba there was SO GOOD. Since I've been in Long Beach I haven't had a comparable boba until boba guys! I'm stoked I decided to give this a try. It is a chain so I was worried it would miss out of the care and service small businesses have, but the service was great and fast and my drink was delicious. I had the rose black tea and it was awesome - not too sweet (there are options to go less sweet and more sweet too), not too caffeinated, and perfect amount of boba. I also thought the boba were delish- they make them in house, and I appreciate that they seem to chill them before using them in drinks? Some boba places put them in hot and then you get a weird lukewarm temperate that is just not it. This isn't 5 stars because I am still on the search for my favorite boba, taro milk tea. I asked the employee here if they have it and she said no but they have something similar (Ube latte), but it is more coconutty. I don't like coconut so I went with something else. I enjoyed what I got but would love love to see this classic! Also, some of the specialty drinks have a fixed sweetness and I love to have flexibility and control over how sweet my drink is! I also don't recommend driving and talking on the phone and drinking your boba at the same time LOL - I straight up INHALED one of the bobas!! Luckily they seem to make the boba balls pretty small so even with my idiocy I could still breathe after a few coughs, thanks for looking out, boba guys! read more

I was in the area grabbing some Shake Shack for my sister's birthday...(yes we really drove 40 minutes on a Saturday morning to get Shake Shack as her sole birthday wish), and came here for some drinks. We had to order online, which was actually a lot more convenient, then standing in line to order. Instead of getting the thai tea like last time, we got the following: Jasmine Tea $4.25: This was sooooo gooooood! Since the new year, I have limited myself from adding boba into my drinks to once a week (LOL), but if this had their boba in it, I would have upgraded to a large instantly. This drink made me change my mind about my previous review (from 3 stars)! Strawberry Matcha $5.50: Got this with boba and it was not as aesthetically pleasing as the pictures. I was kind of bummed about that, since it would have made the picture a lot better, but the flavor itself made up for it. I was expecting it to be a lot sweeter than it actually was, so it was a pleasant surprise when it wasn't. Classic Black $4.75: Also got this drink with boba! I am not generally a fan of black milk teas, but this one was pretty decent. I came in the morning so I am guessing why the boba was so soft and chewy. The texture of it was a lot different, in a good way, from other boba places around. The only complaint I have is that they do not offer any other toppings besides boba. I would have loved some of their fresh pudding or jellies! However, I cannot wait til I am back in school at CSULB to visit this place more often! read more

Due to COVID-19, you can't order in person. You have to order online through Door Dash or on their website (bobaguys.com/orderahead). DRINKS: Strawberry Matcha Latte with boba ($5.50, 16oz iced) I give this a 4.5/5. The boba is chewy but on the firmer end. The matcha is smooth, and you can taste the strawberry puree even after mixing the drink. It's not too sweet, and you can taste the matcha. I'd get this again, and the drink quality was so better than the Ube Latte. Ube Latte with boba ($5.50, 16oz iced) I give this a 2/5. The only pros of this drink are that it was not too sweet and had a nice purple color. The ube flavor was so light, it felt like I was drinking purple colored coconut milk with the slightest hint of ube. The tiny grains at the bottom of the drink (viewable in the photo) made for an unpleasant drinking experience. Not quite sure if it's small ube pieces, but it felt like I was sucking up tiny sand or rocks with each sip. PRICES: Standard price for higher quality tea. They also provide bamboo boba straws instead of plastic. SEATING: Plenty of outdoor seating if you want to sit down somewhere to enjoy your drink! PARKING: There's two parking structures (North Deck and South Deck) and a small handful of 30 minute parking spots on Marina Drive. Boba Guys is closer to the South Deck parking side. Currently, the first 2 hours are complimentary without validation. There's a $2.00 rate for every 20 minutes after. read more
Boba guys in socal?? O.o I was honestly surprised that they were down here! But I'm glad they still maintain their support small businesses and unique flavors vibe. The drink is still good quality and nicely balanced in sweetness. The boba is on the harder side and you don't get much. I got the strawberry matcha latte which I love but I don't remember if the strawberry taste was stronger. Either way, it's more like an outdoor coffee booth with plenty of seating, right next to a chicken restaraunt. Service was simple and fast. I think its good if you get bloated from milk tea because they have oat milk and you know it'll be quality ingredients :). read more
Perfectly located right outside Barry's for the sweetest post workout treat! I like how their menu is simple and straight to the point. My boba barista gave me good suggestions and assured that she can adjust my drink to my liking (which wasn't necessary). My top three picks are strawberry matcha latte (a classic favorite), jasmine green tea (clean and pure taste), and brown sugar hojicha (more indulgent but not overly sweet). Their boba balls are bouncy and chewy but I like the other toppings - grass jelly, almond jelly, and aloe - just as much. There is no indoor seating but plenty of outdoor tables. Parking is free for the first 90 min in the 2nd & PCH garage. Street parking also available. read more
Pricey and overrated I think I'm just not a fan of NorCal boba spots that have migrated to SoCal. I got to try their horchata with boba and mango sticky rice with boba. The horchata was bland af. The mango sticky rice was watered down. I think they make their drinks hot and ice it after which is why it seems like their drinks are watery. Boba texture was good and sweet. Their boba is so good and have one of a kind combinations! I wish they had more selections on their menu, but definitely have the most basic and common tasty drinks. The atmosphere in LB is perfect so you can chill and walk around the area which is nice! The service was average and at certain times can be crowded (we went in the evening). read more

Hands down the best boba in Long Beach. The way they cook their boba is perfection. They don't overcook it where it tastes mushy or undercook it where it has a hard center. They also use high quality boba as well. If you want to taste how boba should be made, try it here. As for their tea, you can also tell they use high quality tea that doesn't need a ton of sugar or sweetness to mask the flavors. You may not find the super sugary, fruity flavors here but again, if you want high quality boba tea、this is your spot. Never had a bad tea here and while their strawberry matcha seems to be their main drink, I prefer their plain matcha iced tea with 25% sweetness. Excellent stuff. My favorite is their black sugar hojicha. The roasted flavor comes through and even though you can't choose the sweetness, it's not too sweet. Order online for the quickest service but they did recently open their order at the counter line. Hopefully they won't get affected by the boba shortage. read more

Can I order a drink and request no ice? I don't want to take the drink home and it becomes watered down.
I definitely think so, considering they were more than willing to accommodate other things for the drink. They also ask you very specific details about how you want to customize your drink or if you want to, so I'm sure no ice is a possibility.
How do I order online during covid as there is no phone no to call nor a link to order from?

no. i went today on 5/2 and they were not open despite what yelp says. save yourself the drive
