I came in at 10 PM to order 3 drinks and 2 of my matcha milk teas looked like this. These drinks are untouched and yet not even bothered to fill to the top. Before me there was only one other customer in line and everyone else in the cafe were doing their own thing. I don't understand how hard it is to fill a drink to the top when I'm the one paying for them. Very disappointing

I used to go here a lot when I was younger for their milk teas and slushees but it's been a while since then. I was in the area so I got their regular milk tea again and it kinda tasted the same(aftertaste left my mouth dry). The service was simple, it gave me a neutral feel. Only thing that changed was some of the interior decoration and prices. It used to be $4-5 for a regular with no toppings and I got mine with no ice/no toppings and it was almost $7. Also it seemed like my drink was premade compared to making it fresh, it came out in a couple seconds. I'd rather go to another spot that makes it fresh/cheaper but that's just me. Also this boba spot is always packed with teens/young adults with their laptops; it's like a cafe where students gather and do their work so you might not find a seat.

They have the viral instant ramen machine. This is the spot to get your boba, ramyun, taiyaki, and other snacks. My favorite has to be the Tteokbokki here. The best part is that this Boba Loca location is open at 9 am! Have you ever craved boba and had to wait until 12 pm?

Taiyaki, pretty much empty inside. I got the red beans taiyaki and they used to be good but not anymore. Over cooked and no red beans inside.

This is a great place for chillax and study. A lot of tables have laptop on and they were really here to study. They have free wifi and all the snacks like instant ramen, ice shaved, boba. The vibe was very nice and chill. The server was very friendly. I'd say food and snacks was pretty much you could find elsewhere but they're like local starbucks in terms of service.

Boba Loca is a cute cafe in La Palma that just feels like home! The mixed furniture and kinda random wall decor (BTS tees?!) just feels so endearing to me haha. We had some Shin Ramyeon from those machines that you would see in Korean convenience stores and it just hit different! And we were surprised to see how popular the spot was for young students after school and grandmas gossiping. If this is your vibe, be sure to give them a visit!

If you're looking for refreshing boba drinks and snacks, Boba Loca is your spot! We ordered their Vietnamese Coffee which was strong and slightly sweet, while their Strawberry Kiwi smoothie had the perfect balance of flavors. They have your classic boba snacks like popcorn chicken, but they also have some unique ones like their pizza taiyaki and countless ramen options that you can cook with their viral instant ramen machine! Very great place to not just get drinks at, but to take some alone time to study as well. Drinks were reasonably priced ($11) for two drinks. I would recommend for those who come here to be patient with the cashier as it seems like there's only one person working here! Otherwise, super warm and fun place to get some late night boba. Came here on a Sunday around 5:34pm. Parking in the plaza. Service was quick and friendly. There was a lot of people studying but good amount of seating for groups. Music was a bit loud. Ordered the Thai Tea which tasted ok and Original Milk Tea with boba it was chewy and good. Cups were cool but one of the tops was not pressed right so drink was dripping a bit. I saw they also had snacks like ramen to eat as well which was cool.

You know it's a very pretty little boba shop. It gives very homey vibes and I totally see this place as a hangout spot for my friends and I. First time drinks weren't bad, but not necessarily good either. Lots of flies around. Second time, my fruit tea drink is super bad and looked like a frappe. I thought it was a coffee frappe or something It was super bitter and just all around not good. So much bubbles so my cup has more bubbles than drink. Sadly won't be returning but maybe I'll give it another try in the far future. read more

This place has been around for a long time. They have a huge variety of drinks and even some food items like sandwiches, popcorn chicken, and waffles. There is plenty of seating and a lot of students like studying/doing their homework here. If I were to be completely honest, their drinks are not amazing, but they will satisfy a craving. Boba is okay, but the worker there is extremely unfriendly and rude. I noticed she was the same with other customers who ordered as well. Will not be returning. After the whole rude interaction, I think she could tell I was annoyed at her attitude, and she responded by not putting ice in my drink specifically, while everyone else got ice in theirs. Clean and unassuming mom and pop cafe. Service was really nice and prices are decent. Lots of space, great Wi-Fi, and the music is chill and not too loud. Would be a great place to get work done. I ordered a mango slush and a less sweet misugaru drink. I liked my misugaru and my sister enjoyed her slush. When I stopped in on a Friday afternoon, one man was running the whole show and he was kind and worked efficiently to get everyone's drinks out in a timely manner. Today's experience was very disappointing. I've been a long time customer and always enjoyed coming. Upon walking in, my boyfriend and I noticed the guy at the counter with glasses visibly angry. With no greeting or acknowledgment, he rolls his eyes and just stares at us to order. Throughout this time, my boyfriend and I felt disgusted with his nasty attitude. The entire interaction was so unnecessarily rude considering all we did was just walk into the cafe. He might have had a bad day, but it doesn't justify taking it out on others. read more

Ok, not a huge fan of boba and the kinds of drinks these places offer but I do love the popcorn chicken these kinds of places sell. I have been to a handful of businesses in the area that sell decent popcorn chicken so i figured this place would be somewhat similar. I was wrong. The popcorn chicken here tasted like water. I mean, it was SOOOO bad! The breading on it sucked too, it wasn't even nice and crunchy how you would expect it to be! The chicken was super dry also. I don't know how the workers could make it that way then just think it is ok to sell, when it clearly looks so poorly done. They sell it for about 7$, definitely NOT worth the price at all. read more

The place is deceivingly big, when you step in it transforms more of an extensive cafe / mini restaurant. I stumbled in here for boba after grocery shopping. Boba Loca tends to have a good reputation, so I gave it a go. The menu was very standard though, not too many "fun" or unique flavor choices and drinks were alright. Boba was a bit on the hard side and the popcorn chicken in ordered were more like bite sized chicken nuggets, more suitable for my picky toddler rather than the grown man hubby waiting for it back home. Workers were pleasant, took a break from their studying to take my order with a smile. read more

Tasteless popcorn chicken ever. Not even crispy, breading is very little.. flavor is missing. Has to be the worse I've ever tasted. Please take this off the menu. Not.good at all. This place is pretty average to below average for a boba shop. There are many other shops around that are far superior. The only reason why I come to this shop is for their shaved ice even though its not the greatest it still does the job late at night. They close at midnight which is why I still come back time after time. I just do not recommend the boba here. Fruit shaved ice is okay for what it is. Consists of fruits like kiwi, strawberry, banana, canned fruit cocktail (pears, cherries, pineapples etc) with ice and condensed milk. Tip: Ask for a large split into two! read more

A great place to hang out with friends, do something productive, study, or just get a drink. I'm currently in university, and have been coming here since high school. Just drove about 7 minutes to shop here for a smoothie. Arrived at 10:30 am. Walked up to the door and the lady was closing. Asked her if she is closing and she said yes, close at 11. It was 10:30 when this happened. Going to find another place now. Not a good business practice turning away customers who go out of their way to shop at your business. The teahouse is so cute, it feels so peaceful and serene instead. the decor is very minimal and intentional, feels like an authentic asian tea house. They even had jars of tea leaves for you smell to get the aroma before picking a tea. I ended up getting the matcha latte, it was pretty good! a bit grainy for my liking but the flavor was still good.

After I realized that not all smoking tigers are the same- some have the fresh baked stuff and the others get it shipped in, it's worth the extra travel to go to the bread factories. I don't think it's fair to review the food since most of it rotates so much, BUT... that buttery flakey crust of the chicken pot pie literally made me want to eat 1000 of them in one sitting. Everything is good. Literally EVERYThING is delicious. Just make sure you ask them to warm it up. Cause who wants a room temp bread when you don't have to live like that. In the time it took to warm up my pot pie, I was able to ask my usual incessant questions which were all answered with super chill and friendly conversation. The people are really sweet and knowledgeable. Always a good experience here.

Overdue review!…read more Picked up a few goodies for work and everything was so good! I have yet to try the cookies again cuz I wasn't able to eat them right away, so not mentioning them. I got the Butter and Blueberry Scones and they were pretty flavorful. I also couldn't get over the NICE packaging for a to-go box. The staff was very helpful and considerate. I love this place!!…read more The owner she is super sweet and runs the shop alone and I really appreciate and respect her for it! Her bingsoo I the softest most flavorful one I've ever had. It wasn't too sweet the amount of tart strawberry was perfect. The taiyaki was fresh and nearly burned me going down. If you need a nice cold treat this is hard to beat, the only thing is, the shop is in the food court within the super market so it's easy to miss it and it shares seating with the other restaurants. Really a hidden gem and would really recommend checking it out.

There is a shaded/shared seating area outside, but it is a bit messy/ smelly. Spanish latte as is tasted creamy, milky, and well-balanced! Love that it was not overly cinammon-y. (Shhhh: I tried one up the street at a popular, large spot nearby and it was not very good partly because of too much cinnamon). This one did not blow me away, but I liked it and probably will order again for my fiance (loves horchata-esque flavors). Also, they made it so quickly that I barely finished snapping some menu photos before it was ready! Came in wearing scrubs, and the cashier staff excitedly asked if I worked at the Animal Hospital next door. I don't, but turns out he takes his dog there so that's a cool community tip (he must like it). Hopefully will come back when in the area. And maybe pick up a Jamba Juice, Auntie Anne's, or Popeyes while I'm at it!

I have been coming to this boba loca before Yelp was ever in existence and before Yelp blew up as social media review site. My very first visit here was in 2004, this location in the city of La Palma has been here for ages and when MySpace and Friendster was social media platform of the day and Foursquare was the check in app to use at the time. It always had a variety of drinks and foods here and their famous shaved ice. Fast forward to 2017, and my visit here and check in on Yelp (07/09/17) and yes, still the same spot for students and younger crowd to play games, hang out, and study. yes still has that iconic shaved ice dessert meal small and large options and variety of boba and tea drinks(hot and cold). The workers are friendly and helpful, but obviously different since 13 years ago. If you ever in the city of La Palma and want shave ice( bean paste dessert) come here and get your drinks and boba on too. read more

I love love this boba loca location, it's so home-y and the taste is consistent. They have proper sanitary measures: the worker was protected with a face mask and made sure to wash her hands when preparing my drink. There was social distancing enforced and masks required. There was also a plastic screen to protect customers when paying. The korean owner is so nice whenever I go, and the prices of boba loca are great compared to other boba stores. As well as this, boba loca milk tea and boba is unique. I love how their milk tea is sweet with vanilla undertones, I crave this type of sugary milk tea periodically. As well as this, no matter what time of day I go, their boba tastes fresh and chewy, just right! I saw some reviews regarding the portions but my drink was filled, with a great drink-to-ice ratio as well. For the price and service, I'd definitely recommend this boba loca. read more

I stopped by for dessert after Korean barbecue. I haven't been here in years. We had planned on coming to play board games, but they don't have any anymore. I ordered a green tea latte. It was gunky and felt like I was drinking spoiled milk. I asked the worker if it was normal for there to be gunk in it and he said it was the green tea powder and he would try to mix it again. He gave me the drink back with even more gunk in it. I took two sips and am about to throw up. I just wasted $3. Apparently, their powder doesn't dissolve? Will never return. Go to cerritos for more and better boba options. (My favorite is fusion tea bar) I am so grossed out that I felt compelled to write a yelp review to warn you guys.. I've been using yelp for a long time but never felt the necessity to write a review until now. read more

if i could give it 0 stars i would!! it would actually be a nice location to study at if the staff had good customer service!! while i was ordering a drink, the two korean lady's continued to talk in korean to each other. in addition they have had fraudulent transactions with cards because they leave it in the card machine forever, even when it had already said "approved." their drinks are below average, i think they use artificial flavoring. and lastly their food advertisement is so misleading. i could probably make a better grilled cheese than this place. don't go here lol. spend your money on a real boba shop. overall, i hate this place. they need to hire better workers because then it would be a bit more nicer place to study at. read more

Loca Boba in La Palma - it's the ultimate hangout for high school and college friends looking to hit the books or cram for that next exam.
