Very fast service with two ordering kiosks and wait time around 10 mins even though the line was long and they were very busy. The kids really liked their drinks and they were not extremely sweet. But there wasn't a lot of tea flavor even though I did see them poor pre-brewed tea from bottles. I'm guessing they are using powdered teas as the base and hence I can't give full marks. This is extremely unhealthy when consumed regularly over long periods of time. Also what I didn't like is that there's no way to have zero sugar. I can only drink no sugar milk teas that are also hot. There were no hot options even though there's a hot cup on display at the kiosk and the lowest sugar level was 50% which still seemed like a lot even though the drinks came out alright. read more

So Boba Nation used to be Boba Time and I absolutely love Boba Time because it's a Southern California chain that I love when I used to live in Southern California. I recently tried 2 drinks, the ube milk and plain yogurt smoothie. I was excited to try it because the menu is very similar to Boba Time and I think the owners decided to change all the Boba Time locations in the Bay Area to Boba Nation. The ube milk was way too sweet and did not taste good at all. The yogurt smoothie was pretty watery and didn't really taste like tart yogurt. I was disappointed and hopefully they can change the quality. I know they are opening a new location at Eastridge mall in San Jose so I don't have to drive all the way to Newark or Hayward in the future. I will try their other drinks and see if there's any standouts because I will definitely want to give them another chance. read more

Good spot for boba in the Southland Mall. I was hanging out at the Round 1 nearby and came by Boba Nation for some boba afterwards. I came by Sunday around 3:30 pm and there were a couple people in line, but nothing too crazy. The menu is crazy big, one of the largest selection I've seen at a boba shop. They need to make it easier to see the menu as you're lining up as the font was very hard to read on the TV screens, especially with some of the backgrounds. I was super hot and thirsty, so I got a refreshing large mango peach slush with no boba for $6.83. They're quick here, and my drink was ready within minutes. Found this in southland mall next to auntie Anne's. We got 2 slushees and an ube waffle. OMG! It was ahhhh mazing! I made the mistake of getting one and my kids fought over it. It was delicious warm with ice cream. Not too sweet it was perfect. The slushies where made to perfection highly recommend. There's so many options to choose from it's overwhelming. They have a flavor for everyone I kid you not. I wish this place was closer to home! It's a self service set up and the process was simple and easy. I would always get the Orange Hibiscus Lemonade, a very refreshing, citrusy drink that's perfect for the summer. They have a very wide selection, although it can get hard to choose from time to time but the staff is always very friendly and willing to help. Recently, I've tried this new Ube Matcha drink they just came out with. It was very rich and creamy, the flavors don't over power one another, it's a perfect blend between the two flavors! There was no line to order but there were a bit of people waiting for their drinks. Hubby ordered the mango fruit tea and I decided to go with the split cup: red berry hibiscus lemonade and I believe the strawberry lemonade. It was a bit of a wait for our drinks but not too long, I believe about 15-20 mins. Hubby was a little jealous when he seen my split cup drink, as he said I had a bigger cup then he did. I was at the mall one afternoon and needed a quick pick-me-up, so I decided to stop by and get their Nation Iced Coffee. I made adjustments for half sweet and extra ice. The drink was delivered quickly and accurately. It was creamy, not too sweet, and just what I needed! I've also had their Mango Milk Tea, Horchata Milk Tea, Milk Chai, Honey Lemon Iced Tea, Taro Smoothie, Hot Chocolate, and Green Apple Tea Float. I've never been let down by their quality and consistency. There's some sitting space while you're waiting and posters of all the various drink/food options they have. The images are good quality and give a good idea as to what the final product will look like.
