Had this place in my bookmarks for quite awhile, but after seeing two of these locations to and from school- it was a sign I had to visit. I came in and the place was pretty empty, except for a family. I wanted to try their ice cream, so it would be quick to eat for the drive home. I decided to try their Rose Petal Ice cream that intrigued me from the photos here on Yelp. I got the $3 cup which is about 2 large scoops. Pretty good rose flavor with actual rose petals within the ice cream giving it lovely purple color that contrasts with the white of the ice cream. Definitely for you floral flavor lovers. Halfway through my cup however, the flavor of rose got a bit overwhelming. I'd probably get one scoop of this flavor and something else to balance it out. Service was fast, since it wasn't busy and I was able to sample my ice cream before trying it. Plus no tax! Will be back to try their Mangonada :-) read more

I clearly just heard the employees having a conversation & joking w/customers ahead of me in spanish.. but for the cashier to go ahead &ignore me &continue my order in english is extremely rude. basically saying "ha! you look like you dont speak spanish so let me just continue your order in english" &right after i ordered i heard them giggling. never going here again even though its less than 5 minutes from my house. I do not support a paleteria with rude employees that will make me feel uncomfortable whenever i order based on how i look but yet you're nice to other customers. I love the other United Paleteria that's in Hayward so we decided to try this one which was closer to where we were when we decided to get some ice cream. This time my sister and I shared some "salchipulpos" which were an immense throwback to spending summers in Mexico and eating them there at the plaza, sweet memories. And thankfully we weren't disappointed! For those who don't know salchipulpos are basically sausages cut in half then with slits that once it's deep fried turns into pulpos, or octopus'! (Which are so cute!) anyways those are on a bed of fries and over it is ketchup, mustard, and crema. They were so good we devoured the dish! This place is super clean and a convenient location with a small parking lot but it wasn't full when we went. The line also isn't as bad as the other location in Hayward. There were about 4-6 tables also in which you could eat! Defiantly try out the salchipulpos as an appetizer before your ice cream if you can! read more

It is packed here! I came here on a Sunday night at 6 P.M. and almost all of the tables were taken and there was a decently long line. You know this place is legit though because the employees and customers are all speaking Spanish to each other. There are plenty of options and I definitely want to try some of their ice cream and nachos. It looked soooo good. I came here because I was in the area and I've been waiting to try the Mangonada ($5) since my friend mentioned it months back and my other friend just went here recently! It's a bit pricey for how simple it is but it's delicious and pretty big. I brought it home for my parents to try too. In the cup is a mango sorbet, chopped mangoes, tamarind, chili powder, and a tamarind covered straw. Omgoshhhh. The fresh mangoes are delicious. I thought the sorbet was good, but that it could be better. There's an explosion of flavor in the Mangonada and it's super sour (as expected). I love it though! I reminds me of when I was a kid and ate the Lucas candy from the ice cream trucks. I'm not sure how sanitary this place is...haha. But hey, the food and desserts look and taste delicious! Mangonada here is the bomb.com. I love it, the sorbet is amazing and a perfect combination with the mangos and the sauce. I used to go here all the time when I went to CSU East Bay. Here in Sacramento we have one specific place that makes mangonadas but it's just. not. the. same... YES! Finally another location! Yes, this is same United Paleteria y Neveria as it is on Mission. Not sure why they opened two in such close proximity, but hell to the yes! I'm not sure how long it will last, but this location is so much quieter and less crowded than the one on Mission. Same delicious treats and variety, just without the crowd. If you've never been here, you have to get the mangonada. If you're unfamiliar, this is the best description I can give: chili powder coated cup with mango sorbet, mango chunks, and a chili coated straw. If you're craving ice cream, then you're in a rut, because they have tons of flavors to choose from! I can only help you so much. Don't sleep on this place! Another plus: PARKING! The store is small and clean with 3-4 workers. The guy helping us greeted us when we walked in, and spoke good English (for non Spanish speakers...me!). Magonada $5 - sweet sour and hint of spicy, delicious! I told the guy not to put too much chili/sour sauce, but when I ate it I wish they put more sauce lol. The mango sorbet is more on the sweet side compared to American sorbets so the sour sauce really balances out the sweet. (I'm not a fan of super sweet desserts). The owners and their kids are morons, their kids acted out childish and disrespected their paying customers. Used profanity towards a woman and her child with what I believe her grandchildren. He began to disrespect her even more in English assuming she did not speak nor understand it. Unbelievable how much parents can allow their kids to disrespect their business. Hire professional employees or handle your kids before someone else does. The older lady there needs a serious attitude adjustment, masks aren't properly worn and they talk sh*t about you depending if you look Hispanic or white. Never coming here again. read more

This place is clean. It said it closes at 9 pm on Sunday but the people came in after 9 and where still served! So that's great. The workers there are friendly and they have all the fruit and vegetables in huge bins that have been pre cut and is fresh that's what the worker stated here. I got two mangonadas and they r great! They put about two scoops of mango ice cream in the regular size for the mangonadas and u can ask to substitute any scoop for a different flavor of u like. We also got a fruit salad with creme and it was very good but the pecans they put in were stale. Three items rang up to almost $20 so it's more expensive than your average treat, but if you got cravings this place will cure them. I will be back many times more. read more

My boyfriend and i came here 20 minutes before the supposed closing time. At first the door was locked but they were kind enough to let us in until they showed their true colors. They asked if we were going to pay with cash because they were closed already but we told them we only had card and they said that was fine. A great place to get your Ice cream if you happen to be in Hayward CA. I came here out of a dire need to get some sorbet and I got more what i bargained for getting to this place. A small unassuming place, I went in and I was surprised on how many flavours of ice cream they have on hand. i wasn't sure on what to get because the 2 ladies said they don't have any sorbets to which is the reason why i came in but they suggested to try their Mangonada to which i said "Sure...hit me one!". i got the Mangonada and proceeded to seat down and grabbed a plastic spoon. Let me tell you : I was NOT prepared on what i was about to eat and then boom! The flavour profile this thing called Mangonada is way Complex to say the least. It's sweet sour tart spicy ALL AT THE SAME TIME! I said Whoa...This is good!!! XD You have slivers of real mangoes with tamarind wrapped on a straw, you have cayenne pepper sauce mixed with the mango sorbet, think and imagine this: It's like Heavy metal mixed with grunge classical blues country rap & salsa music rolled into one...it's not supposed to work out but it does! You'll have to taste it to believe is what i can say for describing it here, you'll never get it. It way too complex if you're only assuming ice cream and nothing else and this is my very first time trying this and I'm sure that it won't be the last. I was hooked on eating this and finished & told the 2 ladies that this is incredible and I told them i will be back and I gave them a few $ as a tip.
