It was quite yummy. Love that they have tons of options. I got the hazelnut rooibos with a shot of vanilla. It was good. I got my brother the coconut boba with a shot of caramel, he really loved his coconut smoothie. I look forward to going back and trying some more. I came in here before my stop at Asia market thinking it would be like a typical Asian joint but it's more of an American place. I really wanted a flavored tea, looked at the extensive menu, got confused and ordered a citron tea. It tasted like a regular flavored tea from a coffee shop. I guess this is my fault and I'll try to ordered an actual flavored tea next time. The iced citron tea was okay and not worth the $4 price tag. read more

I do have to say I thought I'd really love this place but after trying it a few times it just wasn't all that great. I ordered a real fruit smoothie thinking that it would be real fruit being thrown into the blender. But it was not. It was a purée of the fruits. I asked for about a tea spoon of boba and half my drink was filled. I ended up just throwing the "real fruit smoothie " in the trash after a few sips because it didn't taste all that great. It was like sucking sugar through a straw. Just not good at all. I'm sure they have good stuff. I just didn't like the fake real fruit smoothie. This is my favorite place to study! The vibe is great, the music is fresh, and the staff is so friendly. This is my go-to place during midterms and the people working are always really helpful. If you ever have trouble ordering just ask Devon and he'll have the perfect suggestion and make the perfect drink every time. Any day I go in I know I'm going to have a good experience but on days he's there it's even better! Worst boba I have ever tasted. I just moved to Bakersfield from the SF Bay Area and love me some boba, but I would rather drive an hour and a half to get some from LA than to ever come back to this spot. The Thai tea smoothie I ordered tasted absolutely NOTHING like Thai tea. You would think that with such a distinct taste, how could any spot get it wrong? Obviously this place.... My mom ordered the avocado smoothie which tasted like lightly sweetened ice. The drink barely even had any color to it. My son got the mango which was the best tasting out of all of our drinks but was also not very good. Now I know why every time I pass it to go to the Asian market they have no customers. I only tried this spot out because an old coworker recommended I try it out, but I should've known from all the negative reviews that it is not a good boba spot for anywhere, not even Bakersfield! read more

Disgusting milk tea. I have had plenty of boba milk tea from so cal, NorCal and east coast and this place by far has the worst milk tea. Milk tea is the most basic boba drink you need to master. A month after its initial opening, I decided to try this place. Ever since that day, its been my favorite place for tea and whatnot. When you're on a rush, they haul ass and prepare your drink before you have time to check in on yelp. The place is quite small for groups, but then again who would go in with a large group? I used to go here all the time, it was my first time in a few years and it used to be pretty good and the customer service used to be friendly. With my most recent visit, I hate to honestly say but the customer service was terrible from the moment I ordered an original milk tea which was byfar the worst I've ever had to the moment my cup was overfilled and the kid of the cup wasn't sealed right and almost spilled all over myself. I go on Yelp and see a good amount of people complimenting the taro smoothie with boba, so I came with high expectations AND it was the worst taro smoothie I ever drank! I'm assuming that the proportions were just off tasting like water. Not worth $5 Definitely disappointed to see that Tea Bar is the only boba place(?) in Bakersfield! Great smoothies & teas. They have such large variety and there so many combinations to try. The atmosphere is also very relaxing.

Never get their boba. It's not cooked properly and it's hot placed in the cold drink. They don't even bother to chill it before putting in the drink. To compensate, they add ice. Lots of ice so it became water with lukewarm boba in it. The cup is half melted because of the hot boba and the entire drink tastes like plastic. Never going to a tea bar ever again. read more
