On a recent morning visit I had the Breakfast Bagel with bacon (on a jalapeño bagel) and an iced coffee. They serve Pete's Coffee and it was great. The breakfast sandwich was pretty good. Plenty of bacon, which was chopped small and piled on the egg. I didn't really love the jalapeño bagel, so next time I would just order an everything bagel or something more classic. Overall it's a good breakfast sandwich though. They have a fairly large breakfast menu with multiple options (sandwiches and more). In terms of savory breakfast choices they have more variety than most other coffeeshop/order-at-the-counter places I've been too in Bakersfield (which seem to mostly just offer sweets). Another nice thing about going here for breakfast is that there seems to be plenty of seating. Even though it was very busy, it seemed like most people were taking food to go. I had my choice of a table inside or one on the patio. I sat outside in the shade on a cool morning and it was nice. The biggest downside is that they are not very fast, especially when it gets busy. There was a pretty long wait, both before and after ordering. Overall Bagels & Blenderz is a solid place to get a breakfast sandwich and a coffee, so long as you're not in a hurry. A New York-style bagel is a dense, chewy, and glossy bagel known for its distinct malty flavor, achieved by boiling in water with barley malt before baking. Key characteristics include a shiny, crisp crust and a soft, chewy interior. Bagel and Blenderz bagels: 2/10, no "chew" very dense and I can smell the yeast, definitely not a traditional bagel. Heck Panera has better bagels. These are more like very dense bread masquerading as bagels. I'm beyond disappointed. Additionally, no one in my house liked them. I don't recommend the bagels. Thumbprint cookies, I had high hopes for these, but they are rock hard. I expected a nice flaky cookie, similar to the thumbprint cookies from Smith Bakery. Every time I go to B&B I wonder why I do not go more often. My daughter & I popped in on a Saturday around 8:30am, and it was packed and buzzing, but we were able to get our order in without too much of a wait.
