Bobalicious hits the spot if you're craving some boba! Unfortunately, their milk teas are inconsistent in flavor and sweetness. Their boba quality is hit or miss too. Definitely the cheapest boba in Mira Mesa. A regular milk tea with boba is $2.75 and regular slushie with boba is 3.50! I recommend the smoothies they're made with fresh fruit. Ill start by saying I'm really no a HUGE fan of boba. There is just something about having to chew after every little sip, that bugs me lol. Ive been to bobalicious before to get a tai tea for a friend (which was really good!) but this time i actually got something for myself too! I got a strawberry banana smoothie (??) and it was soo creamy and delicious! It was the best banana /strawberry smoothie Ive ever had. There are usually a lot of strawberry seeds in shakes, but that was not the case. I barley noticed any! The boba at the bottom was a little more then id like to have in a boba drink (id be fine with 5-10 boba pearls. I just turn the rest into little squishy cannon balls. Next time i plan on getting a crazy flavor, like avocado/strawberry! The service was so great! My friend had to run out to get some money and i waited there and talked to the cashier about all the drink combination's and such, she was so nice and patient! This is the first boba place that opened up in Mira Mesa... if I recall correctly. I have my qualms about this place. The drinks here are inconsistent (sometimes refreshing and satisfying, other times watery or powdery), the girls who work here are not very nice, boba is sometimes frozen rather then warm, soft and chewy. Oh, theres a guy there who looks really intimidating, but hes super friendly. Whenever I walk in and see him, I'm always happy because it seems like he runs the front then makes the drinks. When he makes the drinks, they are awesome! I've gotten most of the things on the menu, but my go to favorite is the watermelon slush. I saw a big game board that I think they participate in fantasy football with, it all had their names and selections per round. Thought that was cool and most the time they have ESPN or some kind of sports playing. The decor is chill too, has a lounge type of feel to it. Fast service as well, this lady ordered like 4 things and it came out within 5 minutes of her order. I never come here during the hours that it is a popular MM hang out, and because of that I always get great service. My boba jasmine tea is up and ready in a flash. The boba has the right consistency, but I wish they had flavored boba as an option to mix it up once and a while. Oh goodness, where do I even start? I've been coming to Bobalicious for as long as I can remember which would be around 2006/2007, waaaay back in middle school! Customer service has ALWAYS been great, from when I was a little pre-teen even until now in my college years! It's rare to find a place where great customer service is that consistent! Not only are the girls in the front super nice, but they're helpful and work fast! They used to have stamp cards but have changed over to using FiveStars which is great! I would always forget to bring in my stamp card or leave it in the car because I had so many different loyalty cards. Actually, Bobalicious was the first place I got my FiveStars card! They usually send me half off my drinks or $0.99 for any drink! It seems like over the years they've always been remodeling their look as well as their business model, but either way, service and food quality have never changed. Again, something that is rare! All of their menu items are pretty good. I don't think I've had one that didn't taste too great because it wasn't well made. The girls are super friendly with helping you decide, especially if you want to try something new. The nachos, fries, and spicy chicken are all super delicious. I haven't tried the other snacks so I can't really say much about what I haven't had. A couple of recommendations I have: - thai tea with ice cream - taro smoothie with ice cream blended in - thai tea smoothie - almond milk tea with coconut jelly You can also feel free to mix drinks or have any drink as a custom order. If i could give this place a negative I would. But since I can't, i guess ONE star will have to do. This place sucks and especially the girls who works behind the counter. All of them has an extremely bad attitude. I went there with a friend and they were going to close at 8pm (closing early due to a thanksgiving feast) I wanted to buy another drink 5 minutes before they were closed, and the snobby asian girl said she wasn't going to take anymore orders while giving me the stank face. Was in the mood for boba after acupuncture. This one was on the way, and with a name like "Bobalicious", how could I resist? First off, the boba drinks are inexpensive; I could've had two larges for the price of one down in San Diego proper. The boba was fresh: just the right consistency, and not hard where you have to chomp on them. I also got their popcorn chicken, which I would have been a fan of, but it was just too salty. I've been to bobalicious multiple times and always enjoyed the drinks. I was excited to see what drinks they had for this month and well... I don't really agree with the drinks. I love the concept of travel but I do think the drinks are stereotypical with their names. As a Vietnamese person myself, I do not agree with the "Hanoi" drink. I understand that it is the capital of Vietnam, but it is a communist country. Most of us associate with Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City since there is a history. My friends felt offended with the "Manila" drink since it was a taro smoothie with oreos. They said it is stereotyping their culture. I wanted to ask if they had this specific drink from February and figure out if they'll bring it back or not. But I couldn't find it on the Instagram page as well as other drinks from the previous drinks of the month :( There was a drink that I really loved last year but I can't find it. I liked using those pictures to show my friends how they do drinks of the month and how creative the pictures are. However, I do like their popcorn chicken! Anyway this place was the premier hang out spot/Boba spot for us middle schoolers back in the days. This was the very 1st Boba spot I tried and I was only in 7th grade. Aside from the history lesson, here are the details: Pros: -Their specialty drinks are ALWAYS on point. -Price and quantity is nearly unbeatable for what you get. -Outstanding customer service: great workers and stamp cards (buy 10, get 1 free). -Street Fighter arcade. I'm hooked on Boba! I was on my way to Rancho Bernardo and was craving for some Thai Tea. Sent a shout out via text and was advised that this is the spot. I don't cruise through Mira Mesa too often, followed my BB GPS and there it was. So I went in saw the menu and thought hmmm lets be brave and try something new. There was a variety of milk tea, slushes and smoothies and some food items too. Should I try honeydew? Not stuck to my favorite flavor Thai Tea. In a few minutes it was out. Okay normally, I get a drink and there is a lid, well this place had a plastic wrap on it that looks like it was manufactured but you look at it again and duh how did the ice get in there. Next how do I get the straw into the cup, duh just poke it with the sharp side of the straw. The drink was delicious, it was tasy and I savored it till I got to RB. Overall the place is connected to a Yogurt place the decor, hmmm it was odd but I'm the type to get my drink and go. It's a good thing it's not to close to me. Is this the best boba place in town? No way. Is this a boba place I'd go to? If I'm in the area, sure. Is this the cheapest/best value boba place in SD? Most definitely lol. At $3 a boba, it's hard to find anywhere cheaper, but sometimes it's one of those "you get what you pay for" type deals. You won't find any actual teas here like at Tea Station, or any non-traditional boba flavors like at Tapioca Heaven, but Bobalicious has all your standard milk tea, slush and smoothie flavors, with your basic snacks like popcorn chicken. Depending on what you get, its obvious that they use a powder base for some of their flavors, which can lead to some weird, grainy consistencies (like in their taro and strawberry milk teas) and sometimes their slushes can be overly icy or too syrupy. If I'm craving boba I'll probably stick with Tea Station but I won't gripe over going to Bobalicious either. read more

A great boba place is hard to come by, and in Mira Mesa there is at least a few local ones that can help satisfy your boba urges. Bobalicious is in the Target and Babies R US shopping center alongside a few other shops so pretty much one stop if you have any other errands to handle as well. The menu boasts a lot of flavors so to each person their own flavor. Boba is great otherwise they'd be getting another kind of review. Having so many options for boba in Mira Mesa, I decided to check this place out, mostly because of the catchy name. Walking in, I was confused. There was a huge blackboard menu with over 50 item listings. No one was there, so I walked over to the next counter. Nope, that was Baguette Up. Finally, the employee got to the front of the counter. I placed my order, and luckily I had cash in hand. (minus one star for that) I actually liked the taro boba I ordered. It had a nice consistency and the tapioca balls were nice and chewy. My other star deduction is for the overall atmosphere there. The place just seemed pretty drab- old plastic furniture and a weird green color on the wall. Great location. Near many eatery places and near Target so it's easy to pick up some boba after or before shopping at Target or after eating somewhere nearby. Many choices to choose from, although i usually stick to something boba (either the thai tea or taro). I love their boba! Just enough ice so that the flavored is not watered down. I've seen this place so many times when visiting Babies R Us. Hubby wanted boba so we went. They sell Chamangos here! I've heard about them so many times, but never tried one. So hubby got the Chamango, and I got a coconut boba. Their coconut boba seemed watered down and I seemed to have eaten all the boba before I finished the drink. Usually at places like Tapioca Express, I've got lots of leftover boba after I finished the drink. The Chamango is yummy!!! It's so yummy, even my 14month old daughter loved it! I had to write a review today before I forget. In terms of coming to this place, I come here almost every week due to where it is located. I live really close by and usually stop by to get a milk tea after the gym. As far as the products go, there are definitely more places that offer more choices and a few better tasting drinks. This is not to take away from the business as it is a tea place that has what it advertises. Small and always filled with people with adequate parking nearby. Popcorn chicken is out, maybe because of the demand. You would think that from this review that I would have given this place at least a 4/5, BUT dude to their great customer service---this place deserves a 5/5 After the gym yesterday around 9-10, I came by to get myself a regular honey milk-tea to compliment the Saigon sandwich i bought next door. Mind you, I come here very often and as I was walking out towards my car, I went ahead and tried the tea and I thought I was tripping or tired or something. I spit out the delicious boba so I could sip it again. I tried about 4 times and was thinking about just going home, but I had to go back and order something else. The Honey Milk Tea had no flavor and tasted like water. I went inside to order a regular milk-tea and told the cashier (Built guy with a hat on) and he told me that one of their workers was new. He made it into a great time and really knew how to tell his worker about quality and service. Great leader and example. This dude even let me try a sample so that he could make it to my standards (although I could go without the sweetness, I do like things a little sweeter). The new guy who made my drink apologized and told me to come Friday (to redeem himself--I think), but duuude the whole store did just that. It was a great gesture and made me realize why I come back. Good Vibes. Anyways, they ended up giving me a large honey milk tea, with another large milk tea. I looked at the guy because I don't usually take things without paying for them, but I knew that he wouldn't take my money if I tried. I left feeling satisfied and taken care of. Wow this place was kinda hard to spot. If your looking from afar the name of the spot appears to be a light purplish color and it blends with the dark brown roof. It had a green banner, but even that didn't help making this place stand out as it was squished besides two other spots. Walking inside this place was very small and it seems like a really chill spot. Their selection isn't very unique and nothing really seemed to stick out. Their drinks did seem to be priced pretty cheap so that's Gucci. Drinks here are alright. The only reason I keep coming back is for the buy one get one free deal from FiveStars. Check your email if you have a connection with them on FiveStars! There is a pretty chill vibe when you go into this boba joint. There are plenty of chairs/tables to sit at. I haven't been too observant to look for outlets so I don't know if it is a good place to study. Perhaps if you're not somebody with a power-hungry laptop like me, it'll be okay. The service is pretty welcoming and patient. They're willing to help out if you're stuck choosing a flavour. Drinks come out pretty quick. I typically go later in the day/night to avoid any traffic. It is not very busy from what I have seen. Occasionally packs of people roll in. I am not crazy about the drinks. The taro milk tea tastes kind of odd and the texture is a bit too grainy. The red bean milk tea is off as well, not sure why I got this multiple times, but at least it has been consistently off. It tastes somewhat watered down and bland. I really enjoy the chamango here! I'm from Orange County and I have tried a lot of different types of chamangos because I love mexican candy but this takes the cake for me personally. I can tell they use fresh sweet mango instead of just the syrup alone. The mango chunks they give you are also sweet and yummy! This is our go-to boba place in Mira Mesa. The boba here is really good price. 2.50 for milk tea with boba? Can't quite beat that. Plus it opens late, so it does attract quite a crowd at times. We don't usually stay but it seems like it's quite a hang out place for teenagers. There are at least 3 tvs on, and I think there's one in the kitchen too. They have been upgrading their decor to make it look nicer, and so far they are doing a great job! One thing that makes this place really special for us is that we got over 300 boba drinks from here for our wedding, and our guests LOVED it! I called a few times to make sure that the order was right and that it would be completed on time, and everytime they patiently reassured me that it would be perfect. I asked one of our friends to pick up the drinks for us on our wedding day and he said it was super easy. Everything was already packed neatly in big containers when he arrived.
