I come in at least twice a week and am always impressed at how clean and inviting the shop is. Super nice decor and very friendly and hardworking staff. My favorite worker is Skylar, she's always on top of everything and my order always comes out perfect when she works on it. If you're debating which boba shop to go to (there are quite a few in a three block radius), stop your search and just go here. I am writing this up as I'm in my car, having just left because I wanted to sing praises for this customer service. I wish I could give 6 stars. Affordable and delicious and FAST. But most importantly to speak on their service. I came in at 7:20 pm on Monday night on 4/5 so give the employees working at this time a raise! Haha. I came with my mom and we were both greeted and treated with the utmost kindness and care. Sounds funny when I say that seeing as this is a boba... but it feels right! I love blended drinks so I was pleasantly surprised to see my favs, milk tea, Thai tea and vietnamese coffee all blended. I ended up going with the vietnamese blended coffee drink with grass jelly. Drinks are good but we pay for the drink not a cup full of ice and a little bit of what we ordered. When a drink comes with ice we should have the option to get it with light ice or none. It's frustrating. The service needs some help too. The store is run by a bunch of kids/young adults that don't have the right amount of customer service experience to be dealing with people. Most of them are nice but lack the attention span or knowledge to make the customer happy. I'm not asking for them to bow down to everyone that walks through the door, but there is a type of way you need to act when dealing with people. The seal on one of my drinks was not fully sealed and a large portion of it spilled out all over my hand and the floor. I asked them to remake it and he only offered to re-seal it. He then came back with a simple plastic lid over the same cup that didn't even fit the cup, so EVEN MORE spilled out. The matcha milk tea also tasted extremely watered down. Their overall taste is almost as bad as their service and I would strongly urge customers to go to any of the nearby boba shops in Mira Mesa instead of this one. read more

If you want straight corn syrup level of sweetness, this is your place. It was a hot day and wanted to quench my thirst while in this plaza. It was 89 degrees or more so i bought this. Didnt know id be drinking straight sugar. had to throw half of the drink because it was extremely unappealing sweet that last in your tongue. Mind you, i have a sweet tooth, but not this straight up cup of corn syrup. MY GO TO BOBA PLACE. I don't usually crave boba so I don't get it often, but when I do, this is my spot. The service is so so fast and the workers are friendly. I love the atmosphere and music. We were craving some cold smoothie drinks and this place has many interesting flavors. We got the cookies and cream which was refreshing and came with cookie bits. It was a great dessert drink and didn't need additional toppings! This is the drink to get if you like Oreos! The other drink we got was advertised as one of their new drinks, the lychee guava smoothie. We decided to get apple popping boba with this one for a fruit combination. The green and the pink looked pretty but we probably would choose a different topping to pair with this drink. The strawberry popping boba, lychee jelly, or regular boba probably would work well with this drink. It was a solid drink but nothing extraordinary. Good for cooling down and quenching your thirst on a hot day. The store has seating for you to relax and drink your boba and everything seems very clean. For example, the matcha milk tea was so biter, barely had any boba, and it had the crappy lid that caused the drink to spill everywhere especially in the car. Got 3 drinks, all were lackluster. Couldn't taste the tea at all - mostly milk. All the drinks tasted watered down, and the boba was too soft and kinda stuck to your teeth. Really disappointed, as I saw the 4 star rating and drove a bit to get there. I was hoping the other review that stated the same experience was a one-off. Apparently not though - definitely not worth it. The girl behind making the drinks could be more welcoming - she didn't smile at all even when making eye contact. Guy behind the counter was nice - hence the extra star. Really confused about the sign and the name. It still says square bar cafe, but it also has bobalicious signs. Not going to lie I was so hesitant in writing this review but hopefully the management can look at this and address the issue. I live in the area and I like to support local businesses within the community but there are four times where I'm disappointed with this business. How can you call yourself "Bobalicious" but every time that I come in, it's always out. The first time it happened I thought it was funny. The second time, I thought this must a some kind of a joke. The third, they were out but they substituted something that I wasn't a fond of. The fourth time, today February 11, around 1:45 pm I came in and ordered a drink with boba and found myself in the same situation where there were out of the product that's in the name of the establishment. I work in the hospitality industry and I couldn't help myself if it's the employees shortcomings or not.....but then after the fourth times that this has been happening to me, I realized that it's not the employees. IT'S THE MANAGEMENT at this point. I hope they look into this and fix this issue ASAP. read more

Found this place on yelp - Honestly really wanted this place to be good.,. But the drinks that my entire party of 5 received were almost undrinkable. This is not out of pure hate or anything of the sort, but with integrity. There was wayy too much milk in all 3 of our Green Thai Teas, such that they tasted like sweet milk. The Viet coffee with less sweet was also wayyyy too sweet. Taro milk tea had quite the thick and powdery consistency, almost like corn starch water. Usually, this is somewhat acceptable when there is a line out the door due to the employees having to rush their drinks, but there was only one other customer who was waiting for the drink when we ordered.
