I come here when I am homesick and want to imagine I'm in Lakeview/Wrigleyville. I've only had the Chicago dogs here but they always hit. Always deliver incredible service and food.

A quality spot serving up legit (per my Midwest friend) Chicago dishes. Don't panic, they don't serve that ridiculous overgrown pie Chicagoans have the temerity to call Pizza. I found the Chicago hot dog to be perfect--juicy, with all of the accoutrements you want, down to the poppy seed bun. The Chicago Beef sandwich was very good as well, with a solid dipping jus. Appreciate the tater tot option for fries (these were a bit undercooked though). The decor is amazing--it evoked nostalgia in even this NYer for some 80s-90s Chicago sports greats--I can only imagine the joy if you are from there. Fun place to hang and chow down--you will leave sated and probably very full, or you are doing something wrong!

Bobbi's is like a time capsule back to the 1990s, complete with hard plastic booth seating and a Pac-Man arcade game in the corner. The food was good! I really enjoyed my sandwich (though it's hard to mess up Italian meats). The mozzarella and bread both tasted fresh, and it tasted excellent. My friend tried a chili dog and seemed a little less impressed. Apparently the chili was pretty lackluster. But also who cares what my friend thinks? Bobbi's has the distinction of being open relatively late compared to other restaurants on Smith, so it's a contender for late night eats in Cobble Hill. And a good destination for a sandwich overall!

A little taste of Chicago in Brooklyn! Bobbi's serves up the iconic Chicago dishes - Italian beef, hot dogs, pizza (tavern-style, not deep dish) - and more in a casual setting with a bunch of booths if you're dining in. You order at the counter, and they call your number when the food is ready, although they did bring our very hot pizza straight to the table which was probably for the best. We didn't get the Italian beef (this time), but split a Chicago dog and tavern-style pizza topped with their homemade sausage. I love the toppings on Chicago hot dogs - mustard, onions, tomato, relish, pickle, celery salt - and the one here was great. It's been years since I've had a good Chicago dog, and this was so satisfying. The pizza was excellent, especially the sausage and the crispy thin crust. Can't wait to try more!

I've heard from a few people that they get Chicago right. The Chicago dog is purportedly exactly what it's supposed to be, they nailed the beef, and the place is colorful and plastered with Chicago memorabilia. Personally though? I don't really care if they actually uprooted a Chicago restaurant and dropped it down onto Smith Street. I haven't spent much time in Chicago, I have no Chicago nostalgia, and I'm abhorrently selfish. I only care about what Bobbi's can do for me. You know what Bobbi's can do for me? Serve me delicious food in a space easily accessible from my home, and offer up something I can't get anywhere else in the hood. That I can get behind. We're only one visit in, but it won't be the last. I can run you through the Things We Ate: The Cheesy Beef sandwich (with hot giardiniera). Italian Beef is in the name of the restaurant, which means I'm going to order it. I kind of wanted to go with the traditional to see what it's all about, but my wife overruled me with a "things with cheese are better than things without cheese," which is pretty much an ironclad argument. This sandwich is juicy, tasty, and messy as hell. That's what happens when you dip a sandwich in jus, I guess. I want to dip more things in jus, personally. The Kid's Hot Dog. I had a kid with me. She loves hot dogs. Let's not overthink this one. I had a bite, and it's a good dog. There's also a sign on the wall that says you can't have ketchup on your hot dog unless you're under 17.* I don't think they're really going to stop you, but my kid is 4 years old, and skated by without an issue. She also calls ketchup "ketchies" and if you don't think that's adorable you can go fuck yourself. The Chicken Tenders. The kid also likes variety, and insisted we get both these and the hot dog. These were a VERY pleasant surprise, let me tell you. There's no fryer in here, and they aren't the shitty frozen chicken fingers that you get at every diner that I will absolutely eat and be happy with (before you go thinking I'm some kind of snob). These are actually hand-breaded strips of actual, real chicken breast, baked in the oven and legitimately juicy. This is what I need for my kids, both for health reasons and because my kids are freaks that don't like the fried crust on their chicken. The Turkey Club. It's a great sandwich. Good turkey, bacon, arugula, tomato, garlic mayo...all great things. If I had any constructive criticism on the meal though, the bread on this one (surprisingly different from the Italian Beef bread) is a little too bready for the filling. Really, that's what my wife said, because she's more difficult than I am. I just took the extra bread, sopped up the beef juice and giardiniera that fell out of the other sandwich, and had no complaints whatsoever. Basically, this was all a very long-winded way of saying I liked everything I ordered here, and it's a great spot for my kids to come eat too. Unfortunately, I live in a world where the latter is now more important than the former when it comes to deciding where to eat, but either way, I'm coming back to Bobbi's. ____________ *Italian Beef is having a cultural moment thanks to The Bear, a show you should watch if you like quality entertainment. On it one of the characters (played by an actor that lives nearby in Brooklyn, or at least I think he does because I saw him riding a bike with his kid not too long ago) says, "What kind of asshole is going to put ketchup on a hot dog?" I thought this was worth sharing with you here.

Very authentic Chicago style dining experience in NYC. Chicago hot dogs, dipped Italian beef sandwiches and deep dish pizzas stand out from this Windy City inspired menu. Go for the place's namesake: the Italian beef. Very tender, debris style beef that is complimented very well by soft, yet sturdy, Italian bread. It is then deeper in meat gravy/ juice which compliments the sandwich. I opted for the cheesy beef, which was also topped with a melted cheese sauce. We came to this place with my kids, which is sometimes a gamble but not disappoint. They were very friendly and helpful, explaining the menu and even visiting us after our meal to ask about our experience and tell us of new menu options. A win for Chicago in Cobble Hill!

Bobbi's is the best - the Italian beef with spicy peppers and the tavern pie are our go-to, but everything they make is good. Also, atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Honestly one of my favorite spots in the hood!

Okay Yelp, you win. I was going to wait until January 2023 to start writing reviews again, but you just had to push me... I am going hard on this restaurant, especially since I just visited Chicago in September. While there, I tried many Italian beef sandwiches, along with several hot dogs, so I know the best. Or at least what I think is. I took a page out of Portillo's and got myself a Chicago hot dog and a whole Italian beef sandwich with the giardiniera, which is essentially a spicy mix of peppers and vegetables. You can also get it with sweet peppers, but I prefer the former. You should also get the sandwich dipped, aka dunked into the au jus the beef simmers in. That is the authentic Chicago way. The prices are a bit high. I was able to get a hot dog in Chicago for $2 less for exactly the same experience. Why not give me 2 then? Sure, it "tramples through the garden", there are plenty of flavors, and it is a good hot dog, but I was done after 3 bites. I needed more than just a simple Chicago hot dog. The Italian beef is pretty good! It is dipped all the way through, and the giardiniera spread is spicy and abundant, but the overkill of onions almost ruin it. Thankfully there are enough peppers and carrots to cancel out the pungent taste. I did like how I had plenty of meat on it. However, for $20, I want more. This was very expensive. I could get the exact same sandwich in Chicago for $15. Charge me $15, and this review is easily a four star review. The service also is interesting. I found the guys behind the counter to me super friendly and accommodating, but the cashier rude and gruff. Sorry for waiting at the counter, I do not like to be forgotten in a busy lunch rush. I like that is also near the F train. Being near a subway is nice. I guess I really miss the food that Chicago has to offer because it did bring me back to my week in the Windy City in September. The big takeaways? Good food, high prices, erratic service. I guess there is a little bit of Chicago in there too.

It was pretty empty when I stepped in on a Friday afternoon. I got a Chicago dog. They took maybe 5 minutes making it. This was my first time having a Chicago dog, probably should have tried it in Chicago first. However, the hot dog was very juicy, and it did have a nice snap. There was a lot of acidity with the condiments. I didn't eat it with ketchup. There is a slight heat with the chilis. It was nice that they gave some wedges to make the meal more filling, but I could've gone without them because they were soggy. It's very much self-service. They'll call out your number when the order is ready, and you bus your own table when you're done. They have half portions of their sandwiches. I might come back to try their Italian beef.

Wish you could give 4 and half stars because that's what Bobbi's really deserves! The service to start was excellent and the cashier at the time had some great chat and gave us a good deal on the full beef sandwich. Never had an authentic beef sandwich from Chicago but this sandwich was great and very moist. Some parts of the beef were missing a little flavor but overall it was still quite savory. I got my half with the sweet peppers. Inside the establishment feels like a transportation to the living room of the biggest Chicago Hot Dog Fan

I ordered a regular Italian Beef and an Italian sausage both with sweet peppers and gardinera dipped to split with a friend. The food is mostly self serve (they'll bring the sandwich baskets out to you though), and came out in about 15 minutes. The sandwiches were super messy but so delicious. Even with the dip, the sandwich (for the most part) maintained its shape. Every bite was moist, greasy, and flavorful, but never to the point of cloying. Portions were massive (and well priced). Will definitely come back when I'm in the area

Immaculate! Was craving an authentic Chicago style Italian beef and got one. A little bit of seating inside and very quick service. Not far from the Brooklyn bridge either for tourists looking for an amazing sandwich.
