I can't express how lucky my husband and I feel about finding Blayne. We had been dealing with a landscape architect who we have not had the best experience with because of being unreliable, non communicative, unaccountable, etc and had begun to wonder if there is anyone who still takes pride in their work. Well Blayne surprised us even though he got great reviews because so did our architect. We had a few sliding screen doors that had become non functioning and Blayne came our within a day to check it out and then he gave a very thorough assessment. The problem with Two of the four screens had to do with the frame being uneven and he asked if it would be ok to come back in a few days after he had a chance to contemplate different solutions. When he did, he laid out the options and the pros and cons of them and he really did think through the situation as if our house was his house if you know what I mean. We trusted him to go ahead with the work and a few of the consequences did happen but he was very honest and even took photos to send them to us so that we could decide how we wanted to deal with it. It is important to mention that we discussed a budget upfront and he stuck to it and we feel it wa s a terrific value for the great service and expertise he provided, Blayne instill confidence and trust and he does great work at a price that is very reasonable. Blaine's personal touch added to our overall positive experience. He personally came to our home to measure both the 5 bent/broken screens as well as windows, and provided useful insight on how best to maintain the longevity of the screens, e.g. our original from the developer were awful combined with my personal ignorance resulted in damaged screens. I found Bob's Screen & Glass (Blaine or Blayne???) on Yelp and decided to try them out based on the reviews. It was a great decision on my part. We had a situation and Blaine recommended that the most cost efficient way to just repair our existing window instead of replacing it. Blaine showed up when he said he would, and followed up promptly (He had to make two trips to finish the job). On top of that, he's a friendly guy. Wow...that's all I can say about Bob's Screen & Glass! It all started last year when the Spring cleaning bug hit my world. Decided to take off my mothers window screen to scrub them down (bad move). The screen disintegrated when a little pressure was applied (or perhaps it was Hulk like strength? Hulk no light dirt!) and then all that was left was a broken heap. My mom mentioned it sure would be nice to have fresh air THIS year (translation: get off your duff and fix my screen!). I called Blayne on a Thursday morning and told him I wasn't too sure about the measurements of the screen and just basically fessed up to being lame with measurements. He offered to come over and measure it for me that morning. Say what?! Who does that? He showed up right on time, took the measurements and said they would be ready the following week...and it was! The cost was so reasonable, I got 2 screens! Thanks to all the Yelp folks for putting this company (and Blayne) on my radar! Blaine is the very best!!! During the last heat wave with houseguests and a broken screen on sliding glass door I called Blaine. I thought he would have to replace and make a new sliding screen door. But in about 20 Minutes he had switched the rollers around and fixed it. He told me to buy silicon spray. That was it!! He knows what he's doing and is a true professional. Blayne is a life saver! We had a problem that required the removal of a window, and re-installation. It was an unexpected situation that put us in a panic. My wife went on Yelp, and found Bob's Screen & Glass highly recommended. We called and described the situation to Blayne. Even though it didn't sound like we could do what we hoped to, Blayne said that he would come by, and see if he could help us. This is HUGE! Blayne showed up the same day, actually within about an hour, and looked the situation over. He gave us his recommendation, we went with it, and he did the job immediately. I needed a living room window fixed fast. After dealing with some other flaky contractor, I reached Blaine at Bob's. He came over in the afternoon and gave me an estimate of cost of and time to repair. The pricing was good so I scheduled the repair for the following morning. He showed up the next morning at the appointed time and the job was done punctually, promptly and professionally. I found Bob's through the United Yellowpages. I found Bob's Screen & Glass through Yelp - was impressed by the great reviews, so decided to give them a call. Blayne was great! I had them remove four large, floor-to-ceiling mirrors. Price seemed very reasonable and they took the old mirrors with them. I would definitely recommend them to others! They apparently do anything related to glass or mirrors. read more

I called Blaine this morning about a sliding Glassdoor frame that came apart. He told me he would call me in a bit and he called back and was at my house before 11am. Apparently I am not the only one who cannot reach Bob's Screen and Glass. Over 4 days tried 4 times to get them to answer my call to repair a window. I spoke to several other window repair places and they told me they were too busy for a small job. AT LEAST THEY HAD THE DECENCY TO BE HONEST, RATHER THAN IGNORE MY MESSAGE Just a thought, hire an answering service for a few bucks a day. If you want this guy to call you back, when you leave a message, tell him you have a HUGE job and you will likely get a call back. He didn't try to sell me stuff or use fear as sales pitch just told me what I needed and was happy to oblige. He even sprayed the squeaky joints with silicone lube, just trying to be nice guy!! I called ahead to schedule for an in-house estimate for window screen replacement and installation. Blaine promised to come between 3 and 4pm two days later. He just didn't show up. Three words best describe Blaine: stand up guy. I found Blaine through Yelp based on the previous review. I could not have been happier with the outcome. Blaine is professional, on time & funny to boot. I liked that he doesn't try and sell you on services you don't need. In fact, he often suggests more economical solutions. Blaine fixed three of my age old 1947 double hung windows. I enjoyed his work so much, I also had him make a screen for me. I've had other screens made where I was charged more so finding Blaine's less expensive pricing was greatly appreciated. "Bob" is long gone but Blaine is doing a heck of a job continuing the business. I can't say enough about him & liked his work so much I came out of Yelp lurkdom to write this review. Blaine from Bob's Screen and Glass is fantastic! He'll help you explore different options patiently and has a great "can-do" attitude. My friend broke 1 pane of glass in her sliding glass window. Unfortunately this window was on the 4th floor. Most glass companies in SoCal didn't want the job, or they were going to charge her a tremendous amount of money. Plus there were some contractors that were suggesting some serious construction work to replace this pane of glass, i.e. "we need to bring in a boom truck, and replace your entire window" WTF? Blaine (sorry if I'm spelling your name wrong) did a fantastic job and was very patient with my friend. Plus he was very accommodating with tricky schedules. Thanks Blaine! read more

Blaine is a beast. Within 48 hours of my call, he showed up for an emergency screen/window repair for my back door. It took him about 25 minutes to fix it back to new, and then he was on his way. The only reason I give him 4 stars is that it cost me $75 (which apparently is a visit minimum?) The price didn't really bother me because my window was broken and he fixed it perfectly. I just would have liked a little heads up on the price. read more

I called to have about 20 screens made plus a custom one for my screen door for two Mobile homes. (One screen was for a stationary door) Blaine came out measured and sent me the bid that evening. The price for the screens were very reasonable. BUT he charges 75.00 to install them. Cha-Ching! That's $150.00. I think that's way too much to install for about an hours work! I opt to install myself. Blaine arrived with the screens and all was good. I noticed the custom screen Frame was scratched up and brought it to his attention. He said it was from transporting. There were too many scratches all over for a transport. It looks to me that he recycled someone's old frame. It's ok. His approach would be better to tell me that and discount it! He said he would come back and do the stationary door the next day. He did and I was not home when he was there. He put a new screen on but he used the old 25 year old rubber piping from the old screen. It looks bad. I called him and left a voice mail asking him why he use the old piece and not a new piece. He never returned my call. I have waited about 1 1/2 to write this review to be fair to Blaine. I would have given more stars had he called me back. I feel he did provide good service on the new products and showed up when he promised. Blaine I'll give you more stars if you'd just return a call and make this right. ***UPDATE Blaine came back when I was not home and replaced the piping in the screen. A great experience, not only is he on time for my job, but he makes sure the job is done perfect. He goes beyond glass work, he can fix a window frame where as most do not touch. Seriously, seriously can't say enough good things about Blayne at Bob's Screen & Glass! I stupidly busted my house's window today while killing a fruit fly. I know, I know that sounds ridiculous but that's exactly how it happened. The window was original to my 1920's bungalow and therefore was instantly something I feared would be expensive to replace.
