While on a business trip, we got tired of the hotel food, and decided to venture off property for real, delicious food. Everyone kept raving about Bob's, to the extent that one of the Uber drivers we had said it's the best steak I will ever have had. I haven't been living under a rock, dude, so I will be the judge of that! I am happy to report that Bob's has one of the best steaks I have ever had (was it the best, no, but it was up there for sure). I got a glass of Faust cabernet, which obviously was fantastic. As it was late, I did not want any starter, otherwise, I would be up all night trying to digest my food. However, I got the 8 oz American Wagyu (medium rare) with double asparagus. The steak was seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection, it literally was melt in your mouth delicious. The Husband ordered a side of Jalapeño mac n cheese, which was extremely creamy and tasty (and I do not typically eat this kind of stuff, but figured I only live once so why not). Ambiance is great for either date night or a business meal. I would definitely eat here again if I find myself in the area for business again. read more

Sorry, this was not a great dining experience for us. I took one of my employees to Bob's for a celebration dinner. Bob's is his favorite restaurant and he raves about this restaurant. It has the atmosphere, the decor and the service of a high end steak restaurant like the other places I've been to in Dallas. The calamari we ordered was excellent. The side salad was average but the steak was really disappointing. Our ribeye steaks were super stringy and tough. There were so much connective tissue it was hard to chew or even cut. My steak was only half eaten cause I couldn't cut through it easily and his dish was a mangled mess of meat piles on his dish. We probably should have complained but I felt so bad for my guest cause he had been really raved about this place so didn't want to make a fuss. Although I don't give many poor reviews and I hate to do it, considering how poor quality these steaks were, I have to give it 3 stars. This was the worst steak I've ever had at a higher end restaurant. Maybe we just had bad luck cause I can tell this is a popular restaurant. We had a 8pm reservation, we got there a little early, checked in with hostess and let her know we were going to sit by fireplace and ordered drinks. The cocktail served took good care of us, but the hostess forgot about us, and I went to ask about our table and they said that they had already sat us, well they didn't bc we were still at the fireplace. They finally sat us, ordered a bottle of wine, and that was about the highlight of dinner. The server recommended the BBQ shrimp, they were horrible. The shrimp was extremely chewy, didn't taste the pepper jack, the bacon was gray and rubbery, and that sauce, yeah I'll pass. Now I'm not sure if this is how steaks are cooked here or if it was bc we were ordering food so close to closing. The ribeyes were gray, barely any searing, the fat had not rendered correctly. The Brussel sprouts were great, but the name steak and chophouse would suggest your steaks would be better than a vegetable. I was very dissatisfied and disappointed with the meal. We were there to celebrate our dad's 70th. I would not have minded paying the $500 tab not including drinks at the bar, had the food been great, it's hard to say that I would give this place another chance. read more

I did send this as a letter, because I was really disappointed... I came to Dallas on business and decided to visit this Grapevine location for dinner. I am a patient person, but the experience that transpired this week left me feeling very disappointed with Bob's to the point where I just had to write this. Here is my experience: At initial greet, I was impressed with the valet-- they opened my door and said that the front would hold my carry on, if desired. Unfortunately, the hostesses did not offer to check my small carry on. I will admit, I did not ask, but it would've been a nice touch if they had. I took it with me to my table. When I expressed my concern about leaving it alone, while I used the restroom, it was only then that the server said that the hostess could leave it in the coat check for me. The kitchen did do a great job in preparing my food. I just wish I didn't leave feeling so rushed out and even a little a guilty that I ate by myself. And I spent $180- on just me. I did take my server's offer, regarding bag/ coat check, but when I did use the restroom, the table was completely bussed when I came back. I was already feeling like a turn and burn table... and Coming back from the restroom proved it. Table was cleared when I returned even though I had a personal bag at the table; a backwaiter/ server assistant who was watering my table actually directed me to the restroom; I had not finished my glass of wine. I was not yet offered dessert- it was as if I was assumed to be done. I think my server picked up on my reaction to all of this and started to slow pace of service which was nicely appreciated. Monty and Mark I believe were the managers on duty. One even noticed someone bussed and threw away my wine. He did bring me a new glass, though I feel like they should've offered to comp it since I was willing move to a table to the back of the restaurant so they could use the one I was currently at for a bigger top. Normally, I wouldn't mind, but I rarely go out because of covid. Also, I have been so stressed with work, I wanted to revel in self care and treat myself to a nice dinner. Instead, I left feeling a little sad. Trying to mindful of everyone's section, I moved to the back. A manager came multiple times to place firewood in the back fireplace, but never to check again or apologize. I felt like just a random table that needed to pay out. Its already ao awkward at times to eat on your own.. Bob's made me feel less important than the 5/6 tops. I even tried to move to the bar for my last cocktail. My server was kind in that he tried to help me find space, but there wasn't any. I was happy to wait. Bartender quoted 10min. Server said I could wait in the back and order a drink. I decided to wait. I waited for 15min And went to the hostess stand to check. All 3 had no idea what I was talking about and so I decided to just go ahead and head back to my hotel. Food was delicious. However, overall, these stars are low because I didn't feel like I enjoyed my experience with Bob's. Its not like they forgot anything or got the order wrong which they didn't!!! But I just felt rushed throughout the whole dinner service by multiple members of the staff at least once. There were some great things, especially the food, but I just could not shake the under-appreciation I felt as a solo diner, even after leaving the restaurant. It outweighed the taste of my food, unfortunately. ----- Update: Recently sent an email, because I couldn't shake this feeling off. They responded very quickly and I did appreciate what the manager had to say. Will update this review once I dine with them again. read more

Great dinner and even better service. Had the bone in rib-eye and it was cooked perfectly at medium rare. The potatoes were great and I hate to say it but the carrot as interesting of a presentation as it was, was so good! Everyone enjoyed their meal and drinks. Outstanding steak and babbbby the big ole carrot with sweet glaze! Is a must! We sat at the bar which we prefer. The wait was 2 hours but we went to the bar and waited about 10 mins to sit at the bar top. Our bartender was excellent and the drinks kept flowing. The best local Steakhouse. I can't even believe the food was as good as it was but to top it off the service was the best I've ever seen. The second we sat down we had iced water and hot bread and butter dropped off. Our waiter, Max, was so detailed and made our first time there the best it could've been. His recommendations were all 5 star and worth the $. We accidentally spilled our water on the steak plate and within a minute we had someone at our table, taking the steak, re-seared it and returned with new fresh sides in under 5 minutes. This is a new place for us and we were looking for a place for our 20th anniversary. The place was nice and classic style with low light. We also got seated fast. Our appetizers came out fast and so did the food. The server was very informative and suggested a few things so we weren't to order a lot and just end up only eating little. The wagyu was good and worth the price if you ever had it. Not in the menu and just ask for it. Get it cooked at medium so it stays juicy. My all time favorite place to go for over 15 years Excellent service, fantastic food and superb management. Reservations recommended always as wait times can be long. The chef is always trying new fun specials. If there is one, get it! I am a stickler for fresh and from scratch and nothing here isn't perfect . You will drop some coin, but it is so very much worth it. Don't forget to tip well because these folks hustle like nobody else can. Let me start by saying- 3 stars based on atmosphere of the table by us, and managers blatantly causing distractions. Also- there is zero restrictions on seating limits here. The restaurant was FULL . The staff wore masks. The service was amazing, the food was excellent. However- when spending $200 on dinner for 2 you don't expect to have the atmosphere be that of a sports bars no I don't mean the actual restaurant- but the obnoxious (clearly friends of the managers/regulars) drunk, yelling , and the managers coming and standing there 4 times for lengthy amounts of time right in front of our booth table was so distracting. And they were so loud that we could not even hear our own conversation. And again, they continued yelling to talk over each other, during covid, barely 6 feet from us. We both scooted to the back of the booth to be further from the tellers. What was supposed to be an intimate dinner for my husband and I visiting Texas from Florida was less then. We met some friends here for a get together around my birthday. They're usually busy so the best bet is to make a reservation, we made ours about a month ahead of time. The staff went above and beyond to make the experience special. I had the seabass with oscar topping, it was ok but next time I think I'll do without the oscar part. The mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. The ribeye was cooked perfectly medium rare. The creme brulee was very rich and a perfect ending to the meal. The tables were spaced away from the others so we didn't feel crowded even though we went on a very busy Saturday night. Service- We (party of 6) had a reservation and were seated promptly. It was a few minutes before our waiter Casey showed up and told us he would be back to take our drink orders. While waiting we enjoyed the warm bread on the table. After taking our drink orders, it was several minutes before he returned with our drinks. We watched as he cleaned a table and stopped at 2 other tables before finally returning to the bar to retrieve our drinks. We were afraid he would disappear again so when he returned with our drinks, we told Casey we would like to go ahead and order. He told us he would be back so again we waited. While waiting we noticed the Manager, Monte rounding and chatting with the customers in the booths behind us. I was waiting for the opportunity to speak with him, but he walked past our table without stopping. I tried making small talk with Casey, but he did not seem interested. Bob's has long been my favorite spot to drink and enjoy dinner in Grapevine until the other night. As a regular who typically spends between $150-300 just for my own dining and drinking, I thought that I had developed a relationship with the bartenders and servers... So when the bartender came around stating that the coffee was going to be emptied for the night after my $100 check... and someone should drink it, I was in... after a back and forth about it being in... To my surprise, my check was reopened and the $4 charge was added for the leftover coffee. This might sound petty, but legitimately it is when your typical check is over $100 and the bartender is hustling the cheapest thing on the menu as a leftover... I no longer trust the bartenders at this establishment and you shouldn't either. If I'm a regular that will be hustled for $4, what will they hustle you for or add to your check that seems like nothing... Be very cautious when going to Bob's. read more

This was my first time to a Bob's, and I was really looking forward to it because we were sharing a meal with close friends for the first time in three years. The menu was spectacular. The Wedge salad was delicious. The pork chops were a little dry,and it was so loud that we had to lean across the table to hear what our table mates had to say. My wife had the small filet mignon, which should have been medium plus; it was nearly well done. The large carrot and the potato (I had smashed, and she had baked.) were quite good.
