Picking up lunch for my cousin

This place has been in existence for 35+ years. My first visit was out of curiosity because I would see a line of people waiting, no matter what time of the day or night. They specialize in tacos and burritos. Choose your protein (Carne Asada, Al Pastor, Chicken, Carnitas, Lengua or Cabeza). The toppings are sour cream, onions, cilantro and guacamole. They will add a mound of freshly grated cheese that covers your plate. It is a mild monterey jack cheese that is creamy. It tastes superior to the pre-packaged cheese that is grated too fine that the flavor is lost. Their menu includes quesadillas and fully loaded nachos (good for two people). They have spicy red or mild green salsa. Picnic tables in front and on the side of the building are available to dine under the patio covering. A private parking lot is locatec behind the building. This small family-owned business is very clean. The employees wipe the tables and pick up the empty plates and cups every 30 minutes. I highly recommend this place for authentic soft tacos that you will love. Don't forget to tell 'em that Rosemary sent ya!

I've been coming to Boca Del Rio since 1996. It's probably my favorite burrito in Los Angeles. I haven't been in a long time - my first bite took me back to high school. It tastes exactly the same. I always get the combo burrito with asada. I add everything - onions, cilantro, cabbage, guacamole, sour cream and cheese. I get the green salsa in the burrito and red salsa on the side. It's an art to eat the massive burrito because it can get messy. The service is always friendly and nice. I wish I lived closer so I can go more often. They are closed on Sundays.

4+ a small local no-frills neighborhood spot that serves Mexican food classics (tacos, burritos, nachos, and quesadillas). The people were really friendly here and the place itself was one of those stands where you walk up and order at a window and pick up your food at a different window with some seating around the outside. Stopped by here to get a burrito (carne asada) to go. Really good burrito that hit the spot and they really stuff that thing with the ingredients. I came a little after normal lunch time so there was zero line/ wait and parking was easy to find along the street right by the location. Price was very reasonable for what you get as well. Definitely a great spot to pick up a lunch or dinner when you are in the area and one of those spots where you probably would want to keep on your convenient eats rotation.

Burrito was fine. Tasted decent and the meat and beans and sour cream were nice. Although it was just a burrito for $14 and I was left a bit hungry still ‍. Tho the workers are friendly. Easy parking, quick place to stop for food.

Paid $14 for an asada burrito w too much cheese + guacamole. Nowhere in the menu does it show a $14 burrito. Should be rated $$

The prices at this place are outrageous, $17 dollars for a quesadilla?!? Are you serious. Not coming back.

I didn't see any photos, what meats do they offer?

Asada Pollo A pastor, cabeza y carnitas :)

When are you extending your hours back to normal?

Probably never!!! Menu prices are too expensive and not enough customers due to TJ restaurant rows everywhere surrounding them!!! Not like back in the day when the burritos were $5 and no illegal food vendors around!!!

Are they still closing at 8pm everyday?

For now yes. And they are closed on Sunday. Also, sometimes they will stay open a little past 8pm… Read more

Is the drive thru still open?

As of 2/18/2021 the drive thru is still open.

Do they sell Carne Asada Fries?

No fries, but they do have nachos

Is this place still open, as of today?

Yes, still open. Because of Covid the temporary hours are 10am-8pm. Hopefully we can extend the hours soon.

Is Moca open? And if so what is the times?

Monday thru Saturday 10:00 am to 8:00 pm

Is boca Del rio permanently closed? I went there today and it was closed and I called the Covina…

I was there Wednesday, they were open. Unless somethings changed since then. I dont think so.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and there is a good variety of menu items to choose from. I ordered the Chicken & Veggies Teriyaki Bowl (#14) with white rice, and my husband ordered the Chicken & Beef Bowl (#12) with rice. I tried some of his beef, and to me it tasted more like bulgogi than traditional teriyaki beef, but my husband really enjoyed it. My chicken and veggies bowl was good, fresh, and satisfying. Overall, I thought the food was decent, but nothing that really stood out from other teriyaki places I've visited. If you're looking for a solid teriyaki meal, it's worth trying. My husband would definitely recommend it, while I would say it's good but fairly standard compared to similar restaurants.

My favorite is the #1, which is chicken teriyaki minus the teriyaki sauce, w/brown rice, and includes a tasty salad. I also ordered a California roll, which was unbelievably fresh and delicious. My wife had the teriyaki chicken combo minus the teriyaki sauce, with white rice and chicken and beef, plus a salad. Our daughter also had a combo that included chicken, white rice, shrimp tempura, and two California rolls. Every single item we had brought brought a smile to our faces, and we enjoyed our meals. The service we received during this visit and all prior visits has been top-notch, provided by ALL employees. Employees are very friendly, helpful, hard-working, and do a GREAT job every time. The restaurant is always clean and fully stocked with all condiments, sauces, utensils, etc. Employees can be seen cleaning and wiping down each table after guests have dined, as well as restocking supplies such as napkins, straws, etc. As always, this was a very positive dining experience.

The cashier told us beans, rice, cheese, and chorizo, so I ordered. My son took 2 bites and noticed corn and asked why it's there? I assumed maybe cross mix from the prep area, then he noticed more and then some peas. Turns out it's a rice/veggie mix. He no longer wanted it with those ingredients. I went to see about exchanging it and I was helped by one of the chefs and I asked to just swap it for a grilled cheese. I then went to the register because there is a price difference as the burrito is $12 and the grilled cheese is $6. She offered me $2 because it was bitten. I explained that she never told us there were veggies in the mix and it was only 2 bites. I worked in fast food before and this was not a "can I get my money back" with one bite left of the food scenario. She the decided to pass blame and say "it's not my fault you bit it" and just kept deflecting. The product provided was not what was described and the only ways to find out is bite it or unwrap the burrito. She only gave me $4 of the $6 difference because she was haggling, Not sure if cashiers are authorized to make pricing adjustments but her attitude is no bueno for customer service. I know for sure Chris's burgers or Jim's burgers would have handled this way more professionally and not leave the customer feeling like they got ripped off twice in 1 visit. Hoping management sees this and corrects these practices as it's unbecoming and unprofessional. Ps: management. The chef was cool and handled it perfectly, grilled cheese came out fast but my food was cold by the time I got to eat it after waiting and dealing with the cashier

You can order ahead via their mobile app to stack up points and claim rewards and offers. I went through the drive thru to get my food and it didn't take long for a weekend lunch. It is a bit funny and bizarre that they have a complete super obvious AI voice taking orders. Not sure how that works with the more complicated orders that require human interaction. I got their seasonal ghost pepper chicken sandwich, and it was not bad, but not the greatest either. Instead of being spicy, it was more sour with a hint of spiciness to it (how I feel buffalo sauce is like, not something that is ghost pepper). You can never go wrong with Popeye's Cajun fries. Probably my most favorite part of the meal. The unsweetened Cranberry Apple Tea was god awful though. Super watered down and tastes like the tea was made next door to a room that had those fruits in it. If you say "chick or treat" or just add it to your app if you still have a hold onto your human dignity, you can get their limited chocolate chip icing glazed biscuit for free. Usually, I would feel like this is a bit too sweet but MOST of the icing hilariously ended up on the lid or on the cup instead of the actual biscuit itself, so it as just the right level of dessert sweetness. I still had this when it was nice and warm and moist and when the chocolate chips were still gooey, but I can easily see how this would suck if it was left to become cold or dry. Overall it's an alright fast food joint.
