I've passed by this place a few times and the pictures of the food always caught my attention. I'm so glad we decided to pop in for an early dinner because the food?! Insanely tasty. And the portions were more than generous. Their wine cocktails are also really great. I had a passion fruit mojito, which our server recommended and I'm glad we listened. The staff was so friendly and extremely attentive. The food came out very quickly too and the atmosphere was very nice! I was very surprised at the large portions of food that we received. I expected the food to be decent but we were completely shocked at how delicious it all was! The smell was so enticing and every bite was packed with flavor! I seriously was mad that I couldn't make my stomach stretch to eat the entire plate! Then for dessert... I've never been served something so sweet and perfectly delicious in my life! If you are considering this restaurant... think no more! Just go! It is totally worth it and now one of my favorites! They will definitely see us next year if I can wait that long lol! read more

We had a great time tonight at Bocas Grill. It opened in December and it's a very large dining room with a lot of space between tables. Our server José was excellent and very attentive. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. i never write reviews but i need to because this is NOT the way any restaurant should operate. -- i sit down with my boyfriend to have lunch, and we were extremely excited to eat. -- our waiter comes, i couldn't catch his name but it said "assistant manager" this was on saturday 05/14/22 at around 5 pm so you will know who the assistant manager on shift was. HERE IS WHERE EVERYTHING WENT WRONG 1. we placed our order: 2 cokes, 1 appetizer, 2 burgers 2. our burgers came and we still hadn't received our appetizer or cokes, so we were VERY confused 3. we tell the girl who brought it to then please cancel the appetizer because we clearly weren't going to eat an APPETIZER after our main course. 4. the assistant manager comes to our table and says "omg i'm sorry that was MY mistake, I PLACED THE APPETIZER NOT AS AN APPETIZER BUT AS A MAIN MEAL" 5. we said, it's okay if you made that mistake HOWEVER we won't eat an appetizer after the burgers... THIS MAN SAYS "well, the thing is that if you don't accept the appetizer i'm gonna have to pay for it so it'll come from my check" to which me and my boyfriend right away said "omg don't worry then, just give it to us, and we'll try to eat it as we don't want YOU to have to pay for it" HE THEN SAYS "it's okay i guess i'll just pay for it then and eat it because i haven't eaten all day" to which we felt extremely bad about, so we said that we obviously don't want him paying for our food, so he's like ok and brought us our food. 6. before walking away, he asks "YOU GUYS GOT 2 COKES RIGHT? and we're like yes....... after we've discussed what i mentioned above, and we're already eating our burgers and appetizer 6. i tried waiting as much as possible and i see two cokes at the bar that had been served for over 15 mins, i see more or less 5-10 employees talking as they were cleaning cups, so i get up and ask one of them if those two sodas were for our table, SHE SAYS YES. 7. i obviously grabbed the two sodas, put both cups under my arms and brought it MYSELF to the table, the Assistant Manager made eye contact with me as he saw me walk to the table with the sodas and cups and immediately came to the table... he said "OMG IM SORRY IM THE ASSISTANT MANAGER AND IM CLOSING THE REGISTER I DONT KNOW WHY THE GIRLS DIDNT BRING THE SODAS" we honestly didn't know what to say, so we just said okay 8. this man THE ASSISTANT MANAGER then STARTS SWEEPING UNDER OUR TABLE AS WE ARE EATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as if it couldn't get any worse! 9. we didn't say anything, we continued eating, clearly already in a horrible mood 10. around 20 mins later, the assistant manager comes back and says "i'm closing and i'm gonna transfer your bill to another coworker because i have A FAMILY MEMBER IN THE HOSPITAL RIGHT NOW and i'm sorry you know i'm the assistant manager and i've NEVER had bad service with anyone. i know i've made a couple mistakes so i'm going to give you the "VIP DISCOUNT and a free brownie" which was around $6 in total." THAT WAS HIS APOLOGY this worker was extremely unprofessional, me and my boyfriend COULD NOT BELIEVE every word thatd come out of his mouth 1. what kind of business doesn't allow their employees to eat or give them a break?!! and what kind of worker discloses that with their clients?!!! 2. IT IS NONE OF OUR BUSINESS IF YOU HAVE A FAMILY OR FRIEND IN THE HOSPITAL OR IF YOU HAVENT EATEN !!!!! stop trying to victimize yourself in order to make us feel bad for your mistakes 3. you're begging me to PLEASE TAKE THE FOOD YOU CLEARLY ORDERED WRONGLY BECAUSE IF NOT YOUD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT?!! wow!!! that's all i have to say. worst service i've ever had in my life. victimizing yourself in order to make the clients feel bad for YOUR mistakes? very bad image for this company. 2 stars, because the burger was incredible, besides that, i will never go here again and will make sure to tell every single person i know of my horrible experience here. first and last time. read more
