I didn't want to give 3 stars because it says "A-OK". I think I'd use the phrase "just ok". And two stars seemed a little low and maybe not fair. I used to go here frequently many years ago before they remodeled and it was always great. My fiance and I went the other night because she really wanted to return after going once last year. The atmosphere is great but the dining layout is not. There are booths, but a lot of open area tables where you are in essence on stage. There is one table right up against the fireplace, yet right out in the open, so if you like privacy - forget it. We each got a bowl of the Zuppa Toscana which I think was quite good but my fiance says mine that I make at home is better. For dinner we got the Lasagna Quattro Formaggio. It was just ok, not much flavor. We also agreed that my homemade lasagna is better. We also got the Tenderloin Tips Gorgonzola. That was better, but only came with 4 not very big pieces of the tips. My wife and I got a gift certificate for our wedding and I just have to say thank God I went there on a gift card and not paying for it. My wife has severe food allergy so her items that she can have is very limited. We inform the server of that allergies and they did help to pick out what she could eat. However this is the first time I've ever been into a restaurant that does not have baked potatoes. When the food came out that's where the major disappointment started. They recommended the pan-seared scallops for my wife the play consisted of six scallops and about five pieces of broccoli. One of my stepsons order the children's menu steak tips essentially it was two steak tips cut up into a smaller portion with a whole bunch of french fries on it. The french fries were not touch because they tasted like they were left under a heat lamp for 3 days I have had better french fries at McDonald's than this place. My other steps on order the pizza and I had to take a picture of this he touched his napkin to the pizza in the grease was so much data turn the napkin red. He couldn't even eat his pizza the crust was soaking wet with grease. I ordered the prime rib and I ordered it medium when it came out it was still mooing I've never sent food back in a restaurant but I had to send this back the problem is what they did was they took it back into the kitchen and threw it in the microwave to cook it the rest of the way so now I have a piece of shoe leather on my plate. the service was not too bad but was nothing to write home about I did ask to waitress how much drinks were and I got a nasty look. Wow, considering how packed the Pasta House was tonight (we had reservations; there was an hour wait for a table at 7:30), I'm surprised there's no review up here! Is it just that citizens of the South Coast don't know about the wonder that is Yelp? So, a group of friends and I went to the Pasta House tonight. I had heard about this place from a co-worker and was interested in checking it out. I had a delicious, fattening pasta dish of seared scallops over spinach fettucine with a cream sauce, finished with crumbled bacon. I was hoping the flavor combination would recapture my beloved, but now gone from the menu, Bertucci's scallop bacon pizza. It was close enough. :) Along with dinner, bread and oil (red pepper-garlic-olive oil) are brought to the table, and you get a choice of soup or salad. I had the minestrone, which had meat in it. Weird. The service was a bit off. Our waitress did not ask for everyone's drink orders at once, and seemed to not understand splitting the check across more than one credit card. I also got the feeling of being rushed, as plates were grabbed off the table without checking to see if we were done, and leftovers were dumped into styrofoam containers tableside. Overall, the food was good and it was easy to get to (although a small parking lot -- I parked across the street in the Walmart lot), so I think I'd give them another shot, perhaps on a weekday night. read more

I can honestly say that I have never had a great meal here. I want to like this place and I always leave disappointed. The fact of the matter is that I haven't been here in at least 10 years because I had a bad experience here. I was kinda forced to come back and once again I was slightly disappointed. We got as apps brushcetta and the cheese plate. I think the cheese plate was overpriced at $15 but whatever. They both tasted good, and would give them 4 stars each. The salad was nice because there was pasta in it which was a nice surprise. My entree on the other hand left much to be desired. I ordered the butternut squash and brown sugar sauce ravioli. I thought it would be slightly sweet and in a roux-like sauce. What I got was some kind of butter sauce that didn't stick to the pasta. It was so disgustingly sweet it was barely edible. I went here for dinner on Friday night with my girlfriends. It was Valentine's Day so it was super busy but everything was still amazing. The menu was limited obviously but still had a lot of choices and everything sounded good. I got the filet and it was cooked perfect. With it being so busy it would have been understandable for the service to be a little slower but you couldnt tell that it was different than any other night. I visited the pasta house on 12/19/16 a Monday and the place was packed, we had a 45 minute wait. The staff was really nice. The hoy bread with the dipping oil was a great start and free. My friend and i ordered the meatball app and the seared sesame tuna nachos. The nachos were ennhh the tuna could have been more seasoned. The meatballs are huge and with the ricotta was a nice touch. We the. Had the clam chowder which was a bit salty for my taste but still tasted good. Could have used the salt on the tuna. I ordered the steak tips with the blu cheese which was good but the alfredo sauce was very greasy and seperated. My friend ordered the baked stuffed shrimp and she was not impressed with the stuffing it had a sweet taste. White sangria tasted like nothing. The kids menu was nice because there was lots of choices. I will go back to try there pizza because it looked amazing. So hopefully better luck next time read more

A great meal along with great service. Really, what more can you ask for? We have been traveling for months along the East Coast and have eaten at many restaurants. Somehow this one stood out. Seating was filling up quickly when we arrived and were shown to a 2 person table. Since we were weighed down with a couple of packages and coats, we asked to sit at a four seat table. No problem at all. Our server immediately asked if we cared to order a drink, brought bread with that outstanding cheese and olive oil. The menu is full of Italian dishes, ranging from pastas to veal along with a great selection of seafood. We ended up getting a great Bottle of Cab, a Margarita Pizza and an Antipasto salad. Easily enough for the two of us. We closed with a piece of flourless chocolate cake and an espresso gelato with mascarpone. Sinful and decadent. When I finally came to reading about The Pasta House, I found that only ONE person had ended up reviewing it. This was surprising to me because The Pasta House has always kind of been a big thing. I hadn't been in a few years, and I came back tonight after their remodeling about a year and a half ago. Okay, now down to the yelp business. The atmosphere of The Pasta House feels swanky, almost like they really want to come off that way either though they once were a somewhat boring and sloppy restaurant. Their were leather booths, Nice Black wood tables, candles, Nice and box-y light fixtures, and the gray back splash. I went at about 7:30, and was immediately seated (But wait a minute: this was on a Wednesday and it was still kind of crowded..Be warned for weekends.) to a booth. The warm bread that was served quickly after our seating was accompanied by a dip that looked exactly the same as the bread dip at The Waterfront Grille in New Bedford. The problem was was that the dipping sauce for the bread here was way too spicy and bland. The menu seemed mostly based on one common ingredient: pasta. Everything pasta. The basic parts of the menu were the essential pasta dishes (pamadore, spaghetti, etc.), pizza (which was fairly big for a non-specializing restaurant), meat (usually which would end up on top of..You guessed it! Pasta) and seafood. The seafood menu was still on op of pasta, but sounded much tastier. I originally ordered the Seafood Manicotti (lobster and scallops on top of marinara and angel hair) for eighteen bucks, but was cock-blocked when our nice waiter, (unnamed waiter), said that they were all out of that. He suggested the Shrimp, scallops, crab meat pan seared with cream sauce and linguini instead. That sounded amazing, so I just went with that. My mother got the Lobster Nerberg, which was apart of The Pasta Houses Lobster Fest for 17 dollars, and my brother got the Butternut Ravioli for 17 dollars. When the soup that we ordered came to the table, I was little disappointed. I got the spicy meat soup. The cup was small, and the soup was just blah. Their was only one piece of meat in the whole soup. The waiter actually gave my mom a clam chowder on the house, either though it wasn't one of the two choices for the soup. I was starting to like this (unnamed waiter). When our meals came, I was astonished by their huge servings. Well, maybe mine. My plate of gorgeous crab meat atop linguini, cream sauce, shrimp and scallops was fattening just looking at it. When I finally ate, my mouth needed surgery. The sauce was so creamy, the shrimp was so plump, the scallops cooked perfectly, and the crab eat sprinkled like a garnish. Pure Bliss. Ha. When we finally got the bill, which I guessed correctly when we played our usual game of "Guess the Check", we noticed that (unnamed waiter) left off my mom;'s second glass of wine. Other than (unnamed waiter), the service was just so great. They were all really professional and cooperative. The Pasta House is a somewhat steeply priced, delicious and above all, good place to go eat out. It's great for get togethers and birthdays. I recommend going sometime soon. read more

Went here tonight with my wife. The place is clean, modern, lots of wait staff, quick service. The wait was not bad at all. I ordered the small Margaritta Pizza, for $9.00. A little smaller than I thought for the money. I also ordered the Antipasta salad for $9.00. The pizza was good and so was the Antipasta. My wife ordered the Chicken Parm. She thought it was ok. The sauce was not as sweet as she likes it. We both thought it was all just ok. Not fantastic. The prices were not the most expensive, but not cheap either. It was, well, just ok. read more

There are times in life when you have to call it what it is. This place is incredible. My family loves it here, but living in The Bay Area now, really; how good could this be? I mean, I have so much to compare this place to. If you've been to CA you know North Beach and all the amazing places and of course there is Bacco. My time at the past house was good but nothing special. I ordered the mushroom Napoleon as an app, and it was swimming in sauce. It was served with 2 pieces of puff pastry and they got soggy from the sauce. The flavor was good, but not anything to write home about. I then had the veal saltimbocca for my entree; and it too was good but still had a few flaws. It was swimming in the sauce which made the breading so soggy it just slid off. Went here with friends for my husbands birthday. The service was friendly and very helpful with the menu. There is lots to choose on the menu so it was hard for us to choose as we went hungry. We are a family of 4. We visited for the first time today, for lunch. The atmosphere was really inviting. The restaurant was thoroughly clean. Our server was perfect! We ordered the caprese salad appetizer & the portabella mushroom napoleon appetizer. We also had chowder & minestrone soups. Our meals were chicken parmesan, lobster roll, & the drunken clam pizza. My youngest child ordered a bowl of penne pasta with butter. Everything was phenomenal! Went there with my wife and two kids for dinner on a Thursday night, it was very busy and the tiny parking lot was full. My kids got the homemade spaghetti with meatballs, I got the $17 special which was a gorgonzola filet mignon w/garlic mashed and my wife got chicken parm with the homemade spaghetti. Filet mignon was delicious along with the garlic mashed potatoes and green beans however nobody liked the homemade spaghetti, it tasted too grainy and was definetly al dente. Their tomato sauce tasted like something out of a frozen dinner, it tasted cheap and gross like it was overpowered with the wrong spices or something. The chicken parm was average, its hard to screw that one up. The service was good and place was clean. During our last trip to Pasta House, we had one of our worst dinning experiences. After getting our appetizer, our two entrees did not arrive for almost an hour. I ordered the bone in pork which was lukewarm on top of cold mash potatoes making it virtually uneatable. My wife order the scallops with raviolis. The scallops were cooked well however the pasta was cold. Neither of us came close to finishing our meal. The manager did come to our table but only offered half price entrees. We shouldn't have paid for either entree. When leaving, it appeared the manager seem to avoid us. Overall, a completely disappointing meal. read more

It's sad that I need to make this review. I have been a loyal customer for years. I went today on my lunch break, for what I thought would be a satisfying lunch in a reasonable amount of time. I arrived at 1145 and did not get my check till 1255. It's apparent they are more concerned about the takeout business nowadays. What bothered me most was the service, I sat at the bar. I had a feeling my food was ready for a while, as I watched other people eat and leave before I was even served. My food finally arrived after an hour, and the sandwich was cold, not warm but cold on the fringes. A steak and cheese should not be served cold. The fries were done well as ordered and piping hot, although I did not pay 12 bucks for some fries. The bartender was everywhere except where I could inquire about my cold sandwich. Finally he sees it pushed aside. I tell him how it was served ice cold. He asks if I want a fresh one to go?????? I have been here over an HOUR for lunch!!!! There's no way I can waste more time. He then proceeded to print out a receipt, with no offer to adjust a bit. 12 bucks for fries!!! I went with my husband tonight to The Pasta House on the recommendation of his friend. I looked up the reviews which were up and down but we decided to give it a try. What a surprise! The restaurant is clean and inviting. When we went in, we were told there would be a 60 minute wait, and this was at 5:30pm. We decided to stay but our table was ready in 5 minutes as we were the only table for two waiting. The service was excellent. Our waitress, Christine, had a wonderful attitude with a great big smile. She was attentive without being intrusive. The food was excellent! We started with an appetizer of Calamari, which was served hot from the fryer and was the most tender we have ever had. The soup was steaming hot and part of the meal (or salad was the other option). We both had the minestrone, which was a little too much on the tomato side but still good. My husband's entree was a pasta and seafood dish which he could not finish, a surprise to me with his appetite. The portion was plentiful, to say the least. My entree was the Veal Parmigiana. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the size of the portion of veal was almost the size of my husband's shoe! The dish left nothing to be desired and didn't even need a dash of salt or pepper. We did not have room for dessert but they did look good! We will definitely be returning and bringing friends with us as this is a true find! read more
