Perfect for a midday snack during our bike ride! We didn't know this location was even here, we sat at the bar and the bartender told us they have only been open some months. I had two tacos, a Birria and a coconut shrimp, they were yummy and reliable for a tasty pick-me-up just like the other bodega locations. The coconut shrimp was okay, i felt it could have used more seasonings. Prices are okay, 6$ each for a taco, but if you come on Tuesdays you can get 3 for the price of 2. She was also the bartender also the waitress also the hostess. When I told her about my order, not only did she make me prove it with pulling up my bank account because of course they did not give me a receipt when I was there, but then she pulled it up on her POS printed the receipt and showed me what I was charged to which I told her that was the incorrect amount. This is a really cute taco spot in Coconut Grove! Very casual seating and menu. They have tacos, burritos and drinks! Plus they have a cool happy hour too. We ordered the chips and quac and while the chip portion was reasonable it came with barely enough guac for maybe a 1/4 of the chips provided if you lightly dipped those chips. We also ordered the yuca fries. They were 3 dollars and were 3 yuca fries. That is not a deal, just a very small portion. And they were small fries, absolutely ridiculous for a dollar a piece. While the food tasted good, for basically street fare they were outrageously over priced. Next time I'll get chips and guac at Chipotle or go to Coyo which has that fun salsa bar so that if I run out of guac I at least have lots of salsa options. The 3 dollar margaritas felt a little less outrageous - they were better than a cheap house margarita but were also on the smaller side. Service charge was included. The server (on the plus side) was delectable. But the service itself failed to meet any standard. When we asked what the specials included, their response was "the specials." When we inquired again about the contents of those specials (some type of tower, ranchero nachos), the bartender was unable to identify any descriptors or ingredients. I came a couple of weekends ago for the opening of the new Coral Gables location on Miracle Mile. The margarita and tacos I had were awesome! Music was so fun, I danced for hours! Met lots of interesting people and staff and bartenders were really friendly. On the downside, it was really tight and there weren't a lot of tables. We finally were able to get a table after hanging out by the bar for about an hour or so. There is no club part of this location (unlike the Grove location) and we were disappointed that the Mezcal room had a very limited drink and food menu. Even though there were some issues, I'll give some of the benefit of the doubt to it being opening night plus I had sooo much fun, so I'm giving it 5 stars. read more

Disappointed Mexican - We stopped by for taco Tuesday and a margarita. The tortillas were super tough and i couldn't finish eating the tacos (impossible to chew). In a nice way i mentioned it to the server and then literally demonstrated with my fingers the difficulty in tearing apart the tough/dry/leather like tortilla...he acknowledged it, said "Wow!" and then brought us the full bill. I guess I expected a small discount or a free little sweet dessert or token anything. Even a $10 discount would have done it for us...Nope- we go the $90 bill. We won't be coming back which is sad because we live a block away and our neighborhood group compares restaurant notes constantly. The margaritas were overpriced- mostly ice and very little tequila. As a Mexican woman, it is a sad day to see the what has become of our national treasures, the "tacos". I had the pleasure of meeting Carolina the supervisor, Chase the Food runner, and Tito the GM at first Bodega experience. It was a very nice experience. They offer a nice happy hour and food offers which are by far the best in the gables. They also have a DJ who plays good music. The place is graffiti artsy and very cool. They even have a room with a bar in back for a more low key visit. Excellent customer service. The food was delicious. Perfect portions for happy hour prices. I tried the quesadilla, nachos, wings and tacos. All so good. Who can resist!. Chase was so sweet and brought me everything I needed, even asked if I needed anything else. Carolina came to say hello and welcome me. She asked how everything was. So was nice and very sweet. I promised I'd come back. Tito was so nice too. He came over to ask how I was doing and offer me more water as he was cleaning up some areas. He was very welcoming also. They have a great team of workers here including the bartender and bar back. Thank you all. It's a real pleasure to be in such a place where you are greeted and so personally. Five plus stars across the board thank you! *The only concern I had was there is a 20% service charge added for a happy hour which I assume goes for the tip? I think they should mention this to patrons at start of order so they are aware and not surprised when the bill arrives. The bartender and some other girl were talking and as I approached them to see if it was "self serve" or "table service" it was as I was interrupting their conversation. There was a gentleman on his phone and didn't even look once. We weren't even served water, the food was delivered quickly but when I got up and served myself the hot sauces that were clearly supposed to be on the table the lady looked me as if I was doing something wrong.
