This was an anniversary dinner with my sister and her husband. This place has a upscale feel on the inside. As a matter fact it's billed itself as fine dining. We made a reservation for seven in advance just to be sure since it was a special occasion, unfortunately when we arrived they put us at two separate tables albeit they were next to one another we still felt separated and it seemed odd since we were altogether. By the way it was a Wednesday evening and they may have had two or three other tables filled the whole night so it was not a matter of having enough space. The hostess and the waitress were eager to please and very friendly throughout the entire meal. We wanted to try a variety of things so we ordered one each of the appetizers on the menu and we also ordered variety of the cocktails to try. The appetizers were well appointed and very tasty I think the ribs and the Thai buns were the highlight. The cocktails on the other hand were somewhat weak and lacking of good flavor and texture they may need to work on sharpening up their technique when it comes to mixology. Now on to the main course and wine. Since it was wine Wednesday we were encouraged to order a bottle of wine, they have a small selection but fairly decent one. When our waitress brought the wine the first thing that we found out was that this was the first bottle that she had ever opened at the restaurant even though she had been working there for three months already, so she struggled with it for a while to get it open. It Kinda ruins the special occasion feeling when you come to a restaurant to spend good money and somebody informs you that they are really not qualified to be doing what they're doing. A Very sweet girl just not prepared to serve wine. Also the wine was served warmer than it should've been which affected the taste, evidently they do not have a red wine chiller in the restaurant. Some of us ordered seafood others ordered pork chops and I ordered at the recommendation of the waitress the $40 fillet mignon which I had high hopes for. The first thing I noticed about the entrée presentation was the spacing of when the food came out, we all ordered at the same time but some got their food and then several minutes went by before others received theirs which seemed odd, generally speaking food is always brought out to everyone at the same time. My wife got the scallops and I got fillet we always like to share it's just what we do so when my steak was presented last I was really excited to eat this fabulous piece of meat and drink my wine. As I cut into the piece of meat right away I knew something was wrong tragically wrong, it did not have the feel that a fillet should have it cut like a pot roast or piece of meatloaf it was extremely mushy on the inside but despite this I cut it in half and put half on my wife's plate and figured well perhaps it'll taste better than it looks and believe you me it did not!! it was probably the worst piece of meat that I've ever put in my mouth not sure what they did to it it almost seem like it was boiled and then they attempted to cook it. I promptly retrieve the other half off of my wife's plate to save her The terror of tasting that piece of meat however she insisted on tasting it anyway she said "it couldn't be that bad" and she was in full agreement that was indeed "that bad" Naturally we sent it back and a very pleasant lady who is serving as the manager came to offer her apologies. At this point I just wanted to go back to the appetizers which were so good I did not want to wait for another hour on an entrée so I just ordered and appetizer as my entrée which I was happy with although at this point overall the mood was starting to dim for me. I tasted the other entrées that had come I think the chef is trying very hard and he's headed in the right direction the flavors are good they could use some improving they seem to struggle with cooking of the meat, the porkchops seem to have a mushy consistency as well not as bad as my steak but it was still there so not sure what the cooking technique is for the meat but I think it needs some improvement. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be trying this place again I wish I would've had a better experience I had high hopes for fine dining in Lexington. read more

Been here twice for lunch and dinner with my friends. Lunch might be a bit pricey compare to other restaurant but since here consider as fine dining restaurant so it wasn't expensive to me at all (about $9-12) and dinner was so worth to pay off. Inside looks so gorgeous with a good atmosphere. Also I've tried Thai food in Thailand before so In my opinion the food here is so authentic even tho they are look so fancy (I was wonder at first how would it gonna taste like cuz doesn't look like normal Thai food at all Lol) but really ! the food tasted so good and you can ask to add more spice if you want and their food presentation was very beautiful. I also tried my friends food and every single plate we've order was really good. And yes ! It does fill me up :) We will come back here again for sure. read more

I'm sad to have to write this review but I feel something needs to be said. For the past 2 years myself and my boyfriend have eaten at this restaurant. Even during the pandemic we would order to go from them to help support them through the difficult time. Which during that time they increased their prices and the quality did seem to go down a little but we gave them the benefit of the doubt and figured they had cut backs and shortages to deal with. We ate at the restaurant at least once a week for the past year. Never complained or sent food back. We go so often that one of the waitresses Wendy even knows our whole order and often times will put it in after confirming that's what we want, so we don't have to wait long. Yesterday we did not have Wendy as our server and to be honest besides saying it was an older woman I do not know her name. We ordered our food like usual, I get drunken noodles with no spice. The food comes and I can immediately tell mine is not right. The color is a shade of red with lots of black dots. Again, I give them the benefit of the doubt and I take several bites from different parts of my plate. It's spicy. We tell the waitress and she goes to the back and is gone for less than 5 minutes and she comes back with my food, the same plate of food. She puts it down and tells me that no, they did not put spice in it but the mother of the chef put black pepper and its good to go. I take a couple more bites and it's spicy. So my boyfriend tries to explain that I cannot do spice because it doesn't sit well with me and tries to talk to her about getting it remade. She then very abruptly tells us she already talked to the chef and since they didn't add spice they aren't going to remake it and I have to eat it as is. My boyfriend tried to see if we could talk about it but she said no they will not remake it. He said we have been loyal customers and if this is how they treat them, then we won't be coming back. She just said okay. So my boyfriend asked for the bill. They charged us full price for both meals (also to add my boyfriends was wrong too, they left the spice off his which they then added) and no one would talk to us about the issue. We left the food uneaten and left. My issue is I feel like they didn't even try to talk to us about the problem. It was a simple nope you're wrong and that's that. I'm sorry if a customer tells you the food has spice on it and it's inedible, you should want to fix that issue. Even if the mother of the chef only added black pepper to the dish, she added so much that's all I could taste. But I get this dish once a week and it never looked the way it did yesterday, something was clearly different. I just found their behavior to be very unprofessional and rude. And maybe the waitress didn't actually express the issue to the chef and was just trying to deal with it on her own, in that case she shouldn't be a waitress because she handled the situation very poorly. So the food is good but if you have an issue with your dish or disagree with the spice level, it appears they will not work with you to fix the issue and will charge you full price for your meal after the fact. They lost 2 loyal customers yesterday and possibly more because I will not be recommending them. Also, we used to take other employees and clients here as well so now they lost that business. I've been wanting to try this place for a while based on the reviews, and Bodhi did not disappoint! With parking right next to the restaurant in downtown Lexington, it was easy to get in. My initial impression when walking inside the building was impressed. The decor is modern and tasteful and definitely gives off a high quality dining vibe. We were greeted and seated at a table right away, then presented with menus. The lunch menu covered a good variety of dishes, and the prices were more than reasonable. We started with the chicken satay skewers, which were divine and beautifully presented on a large wooden serving tray. I had the massaman curry for my main dish, and it was one of the best I've ever had. The service was a bit slow, but we were seated right after a very large group, so I took that into consideration, and our server continued to check on us during our visit. Overall, the food was delicious and beautifully presented, the atmosphere was classy yet casual, and the service friendly. I will definitely be back in the future to check out the dinner and brunch menus. read more

My friend and I were first time diners after hearing very good things about the restaurant so we were excited to try it. A bit pricey cocktails and appetizers but they were very good. As we were waiting for our entrees they asked us to move tables to accomodate a large party. However, very oddly the large party never came. My friend and I ordered the exact same entree--pad Thai with shrimp mild spice. The only difference was that her's was without the egg crepe. Her entree was very good, good flavor, served hot and a good portion. Mine was not. It didn't even look like the same dish as my friend's. It was lukewarm, had no sauce, no flavor, and was very dry. Clearly the kitchen forgot to complete my dish--literally the noodles were dry and tofu flavorless. I shared this with both the manager and server and asked for the sauce to be provided so I could add it to my dish. They provided me with oil, which made it less dry but still no flavor, and at this point it was cold. I left much of it on my plate. I told the manager it was not satisfying and told him when we left it was disappointing. They did not comp any of our meal--not our drinks, appetizers, or even part of my entree. They apologized but that was it. An expensive, very disappointing meal. We will not go back. Honestly, if they had comped even part of our meal we would try it again. But not now. read more

My favorite Lexington restaurant. It is casual upscale Thai at its best. I noticed one reviewer noted they waited a bit. That's what you do when you order authentic chef created entrees as opposed to frozen meals. Any wait you experience will be worth it. Use the time to enjoy the gorgeous aesthetics. It is a bit loud when crowded. The acoustics are not the best but again it's worth it for the food. In fine dining portions are smaller quality is big. The portions in my opinion are just right. Not too much and not too little. The fried rice is the best you will ever taste. We also love the Panang Curry , Tom Kai Gai soup , chicken satay , and my husband is a Pad Thai fan and no other compares in his opinion. Love supporting this restaurant. read more

We visited for the first time and were pleasantly surprised. It was a Saturday night so the restaurant was packed. Modern urban appearance very unlike most of what you see in Lexington. The acoustic when the restaurant is full is very loud and it can be a challenge to properly hear your dining partners, this improved as the night went on and the restaurant gradually got emptier. We got greeted and seated and drink service was prompt. A wonderful cocktail and glass of wine. The menu (which I assume because of covid) was raggedy looking home print and could be redone a little more often as it looked a little cheap and out of place. Then the food: Chicken satay and wontons for starters, both very good. The chef has his flavors down. Then a soup and a papaya salad. Both again, very good. Portions are good although big eaters might be tempted to call the portions small. Papaya salad was delicious and just right on the spice level as I had asked for medium spicy. The pace of the dinner was a tad on the slow side. After cocktails it took a quite awhile for appetizers, the next two courses were spaced out too. And while there was plenty of time to converse and drink wine, I think you could notice that the full restaurant was putting some pressure on the kitchen. Then the entrée, My wife had the scallops, they were a little on the small side and I doubt these were the U10"s we thought they were gonna be and maybe also not quite day fresh either, as there was a slight hint of seafood in the air as the plate was served. Eating them confirmed it. Nevertheless a tasty entrée with the sweet corn complimenting the scallops nicely. I had the duck. On the menu it's advertised as crispy duck but the duck was rather on the dark side and looked a little too charred. Definitely a little overdone and not the rose interior I had anticipated. But the excellent red curry sauce made up for the slip up with the duck and although maybe not chef's best work, it was tasty. For dessert we had sticky rice with mango and strawberry sherbet which was a little salty, the rice and mango that is. The waitress assured us, this was authentic to Thai desserts and we took her word for it. The taro dessert was delicious, with it resembling a little bit of bread pudding texture. It had a tuile and some very light dried merengue which made it a nice way to finish. The cost is considerable for a Lexington eatery and that makes it a once in a blue moon restaurant. Despite some minor technical errors, the overall experience was a good one and we enjoyed our night. Bodhi Thai is a nice addition to the Lexington culinary landscape and a far cry from your regular burger and wing place. We'll be back. read more

Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by the hostess who promptly seated us. They serve Thai French fusion. I ordered pad thai chicken. Presentation was nice but I was disappointed. The chicken was basically thick sliced cold cut served with noodles wrapped in a crepe. We also ordered the salmon entree which was salty. The fresh veggie roll had a very chewy wrap. Veggies were fresh and served with sesame sauce and Mae ploy spicy sauce. They offered cauliflower and carrot soup, compliments of the chef and that is the only thing we really enjoyed. I used to eat Thai food weekly when I worked in the Burlington, VT area. I've missed it. This place is great, especially for an establishment just starting up. I went here for lunch with a rather large group. I ordered the fresh spring rolls as an appetizer and the Massaman curry with tofu as my entree. If you are vegetarian/vegan, please double check with your server regarding your order - while the spring rolls did not say they had shrimp in them, they did! Heavy on the basil, but not in a bad way. Served with two different yet complementary sauces (tamarind and sweet chili). The Massaman curry was delicious - but I ordered it medium and it tasted the same as another curry which was meant to be not spicy. Thankfully the hostess brought me some spices/sauces to up the heat. I am used to Massaman curry being served with bell peppers in the sauce - I think that would be a lovely complement to this dish (just a suggestion). There's nothing more I would like than to have a new and diverse restaurant do well in the Lexington area. A restaurant that is not a chain BBQ or burger joint. However, if this restaurant wants to succeed, they need to make sure that they have enough help in the dining room. I came here for lunch on a Monday and there was a host and one wait help for the whole restaurant. The place was 85% full. The waitress was very apologetic for the wait. I admit it wasn't her fault. I could see other patrons in the restaurant also getting anxious. It took 10 minutes before the waitress came to my table; another 40 minutes for my lukewarm & very small soup to come out, and 55 minutes (from the time of ordering) for my entree to arrive. Thank God I didn't have to go back to work! All that said, it's unfortunate because the food was good and the ambience of the restaurant is nice. I will give them another chance. The staff are friendly, courteous, and attentive. The atmosphere has an upscale feel without the upscale prices. I had the Pad Thai and ordered it "Thai hot," which is usually a gamble; it's either going to be too hot to eat or not as hot as expected. For me, it reached the appropriate level of heat without being too spicy.
