We visited their shop and saw how clean it is and the care they take with the cars they are repairing. They worked with our insurance company to get the out-of-pocket cost as low as possible while using quality parts. We got text messages twice a week with updates on what was happening to the car and projected date of availability. WARRNING! Scammers, liars, and bullies, especially if you're a woman. They charged insurance for new parts but used damaged/used ones, stained my car with grease, ripped/cut w knife trunk carpet, left dents, sloppy paint, and even installed a broken wiper in the wrong spot, leaving old glue. I don't know where the good reviews are coming from-likely fake. They know insurance will pay, then leave you stuck and threatening. The names praised in other reviews are actually your worst enemy. Thankfully I had before-and-after photos to prove their misconduct. The insurance adjuster had to step in and send my car to a different shop to be fixed all over again. Stay away. I found Body Builders on Google, finding them as a certified BMW shop. Had a very minor accident, they found a way to solve the issue without painting. which saved a great deal of money. Really impressed with the time they spent showing me the shop, very professional, they had friendly staff, the shop was clean. Recently got into a fender bender with my SUV in late May. So I came back to this place based on the great service I had received previously. Back then, they had been on preferred lists with various Insurance vendors, including State Farm, my carrier, so I came back. Service had been excellent... until now. It sees odd to me that they were no longer preferred but they said it was because they didn't use aftermarket parts as required by State Farm. SF denied this was the reason... more as to the fact that BBA like to charge more than reasonable avg rates... paraphrasing what the rep said but thats usually the case, aka price gouge. I didn't want to believe it, but after trusting then to get direct payments vs my review of work before payout, I should have not. I got shoddy work and coincidentally they decided to no longer follow up on the promises to finish fixing my complaint items right after they got the final installment from State Farm 2 days ago. AGREEING ABOUT Promising to fix my LIST UNTIL State Farm sent the final payment totalling 17K. I should have stopped it. Promises to fix by Jackie. Sign-off that if was completed. NONE completed. Consistent fails by Sam (forgot a trim piece, didn't know that intake vent can cause issues when I asked about it with concerns on acceleration) Issues: misalignment of hood and trim and set of headlights in gasket, battery warning fails at ignition (never happened before), weird tone of backup warning beep, crooked bumper (look at front plate holder)... response by Sam "your talking about millimeters... we did the best we could, find another body shop"... duh. This place is now poop. Trust the Insurance carrier... Note... they kept my car sitting there for 2 weeks while I burned thru rental allocation because they didn't order parts while arguing with State Farm about their charges. read more

If you have a Tesla and need to get some body work done, this place is great! They fixed a big misalignment in my falcon wing door that the Schaumburg service center couldn't fix (of course after waiting there for almost 4 hours). Body Builders had me down for an appointment, gave me an estimate, and scheduled a day to bring the car in. I know that might seem straight forward, but having owned a Tesla since 2018, getting Tesla to work on your car is a horrible experience. This company has no customer service. I dropped in for an estimate, the estimator/owner was in a meeting. The receptionist took pictures of my bumper and told me someone would call. I waited for 24hrs and after not being called I called in. I was told someone would get back to me soon. I waited another 2 hours and then went in as I was driving by there. The receptionist asked me to wait. I waited another 20 minutes and when I asked why it took so long the owner said he didn't want to work with me. I wasted my time and the owner was beyond rude. Don't go here as there are other auto bodybuilders in the area. Don't waste your time like I had mine wasted. I only gave this business 1 star because it was required to enter this review. read more

I have known Body Builders for a very long time. These guys are great at what they do. I am in the industry and when i started out back in the early 80's i had a dent in my company car. I asked Pat if he could fix it and he stated: leave it with me i will have it done in a day. I came back the next day and the dent was gone and looked perfect!! Having an accident and getting the car repaired could be frustrating but this shop made the whole process much easier. Body Builder is the best body shop I have ever had. The team there is very professional. They explained to me what needed to repair. I got my car fixed in relatively short period of time. What impressed me the most is that 3 months after the repair, I found one of my back tires is leaking. I know it is probably not their problem because my damage is on the bumper. I had my other SUV fixed by the shop two years ago. It was a straight forward comprehensive repair and am very happy with their work and the whole process. Recently I had a minor scratch on the door by another hit and run, so I am prepare to pay out of my pocket. It was a very subtle scratch but I decided to go back to them and ask for an estimate. Brought my vehicle to bodybuilders due to extensive hail damage. Not only is there still hail damage there are circles all around my vehicle and it appears they may have ruined the hood the roof and the passenger side window. It looks like they worked on a vehicle right next to my black Toyota,. Although they tried to say it was oxidation. NO- according to one of my neighbors who is in the industry said it looked like paint, grayish paint all over my truck. They said initially they were going to replace the hood, which was approved by Geico, yet again, in my opinion- received the approval to replace hood but for some reason their PDR person started to work on the hood and saw wow the dents are coming out really well. This to me makes no common sense. If there is hail damage all over the entire vehicle why would they start to work on the hood, if the hood was To be replaced.. The only reason that makes any type of sense to me, again my opinion based on what I have seen is they do not make as much $$ off a part- so decided to do entire damage by PDR repair. They care more for the $$$ then the quality (or lack of) of work. Stay away! I now have to bring my SUV back to a different place to have whatever damage they caused & hail still exists.in addition, their communication skills are lacking. My vehicle was told was ready- Not! They just pulled out (guess the color) a grayish car next to my SUV. They offered to wash it- no soap or to come back for sand blasting. YOU ARE NEVER TOUCHING MY TRUCK EVER! This shop should not be on Geico's list- I think their ripping them off. Check out the photo of the roof. More photos to come- of hood, window, interior messed up interior upholstery. I cannot say enough about how professional and attentive the staff here is! No one enjoys getting into an accident, but BodyBuilders does everything that they can to make the repair experience pleasant. I set up my appt through Geico, but they work with most car insurances. The initial intake was relatively painless and I was able to drop my car, pick up the rental and be at my office in less than an hour. Laura is the most professional customer service representative I have ever worked with. Not only did she get me in and out and on my way, but she kept me informed with an email message every other day about the status of my repair. I dropped my car off on a Saturday with the estimate of 1 week's time to repair, by Tuesday I had my car back. I can't talk this girl up enough-- she went way out her way to make my experience as good as it can be. One small wrinkle - they forgot to reattach my attenna so my radio didn't work well when I got my car back. Never fear, Laura's got it under control, within 2 hours the owner was at my work with a new part to attach. After my Jeep was rear ended and having to deal with the other person's insurance company and being sent through the ringer of dishonest and shady auto repair shops, I finally decided to go my own route to get it done right. I was referred to Body Builders by a friend who also had an exceptional experience when having work done to his Honda Civic. All of the staff members I dealt with were friendly, knowledgeable, understanding, and best of all honest. I got regular updates on the status of my repairs and when I got my Jeep back it looked brand new again. The repairs were made over a year ago and there have been absolutely no issues. They did a GREAT job fixing up my brand new Jeep and were super nice while doing it. I can't quite give them five stars (I'll explain in a second), but I would definitely not hesitate to use them again. But I really hope I don't have a reason to! The only thing that bugged me was I made an appointment a couple of weeks in advance to bring my car in and leave it for the work week, and I think we even confirmed that appointment a few days before, yet they didn't have the parts they needed ready so that they could work on my car right off of the bat. So my car was sitting there a day or two with nothing actually being done to it, and the wait for parts they had to order was supposed to delay my pickup from the original time estimate. However, I ended up getting her out at the original time so it didn't end up having a negative effect. I don't know if that is common practice in the repair industry or what, but it was definitely frustrating to get a voice mail about how they were waiting for parts so they estimated my car wouldn't be ready until 2 days later than they originally told me. I had no car in the mean time as I decided to forgo renting, but even if I had been renting I would have been paying the overage from what insurance covers, so it just felt inconsiderate and silly to not have the parts ready when they knew I was coming in. Anyway, all is well that ends well, and my car looks brand new and every single person that worked there seemed like they actually cared about me and my car, so can't ask for much more than that. read more

They are fantastic!!!! They are accommodating and will get you in for a quote at the last minute. They are great about following up with you about the status of your car and any work they are doing on it. When I dropped my car off, they found work that had to be done that was related to the accident, but wasn't in my quote. I was paying out of pocket for the repairs, so I really wanted to stay within my budget and previously quoted price, they honored that and worked hard to stick to it! They even gave me a few discounts, when it was all said and done. Which I thought was fantastic customer service! I'm not satisfied with their abysmal service. They forgot to add a component to my car when it was ready for pick up. They call themselves a middle man between the customer and the insurance adjuster but its very apparent that they lean towards the adjuster's opinion while dealing with customers. I had close to 40$ in one dollar bills in the center console storage and all that vanished after my car was returned back to me. If you value good service and a good repair job stay the F away from these guys. They seem to be making a mockery out of the phrase a "A family owned business" because the way the dealt with me was the exact opposite of how family owned businesses treat their customers. There are definitely better auto body shops in the area and if you value your car it would be prudent to give these guys a pass. read more

Drop off was a breeze and communication was phenomenal. They emailed me within 24 hours to advise that the final price would be slightly higher than the original estimate... by a dollar and some change. The shop - a Geico express shop - had a rental car waiting for me when I dropped of my car for repair, and the service team kept in touch with me daily regarding the damage findings and repair schedule. My car was returned to me cleaner than it was when I dropped it off (inside and out) and the repair was done very well. I can't tell where the car was hit. My neighbor backed into my Ford Fusion and then tried to deny it, and after a month of back and forth with his GEICO insurance, I was able to get all my damage covered using BBA. I absolutely LOVE their office to start with, it's so cute. They even let me choose my own coffee while I signed some paperwork. As a horseback rider, I was a bit embarrassed bringing my car in because it was so dirty and I had no time to clean it, and my grandpa also scraped my driver's mirror leaving paint smudges on it, which was completely unrelated to the damage from my neighbor. THEY DETAILED MY CAR, GAVE MY CAR AN AIR FRESHENER AND BUFFED OUT THE SMUDGE ON MY MIRROR ON TOP OF IT. I literally felt like a kid in a candy store when I got into my car.
