A cute cafe that has been around for over 20 years. It has indoor and outdoor seating. They open at 7 am and are busy as soon as they open. They have on line ordering which is recommended for take out because this place is always busy. I've tried many dishes Belgian waffles, breakfast bagels, omelettes and pancakes so fluffy, fried rice yumm great sandwiches etc. they are ALL really, really good. Parking is tough and when busy and they're always busy it'll be a wait for your food. Not a place to go if you're in a hurry. Service is super friendly. A classic food spot near Waikiki. Bogarts is a well known and often crowded spot for breakfast/lunch. They have typical breakfast foods such as bagels, omelets and lunch dishes like sandwiches and meat dishes. Menu prices have gone up quite a bit. Their website menu is not accurate so do not follow that! Look on yelp for more recent pricing. I will say that prices are quite high for what it is - but it is in waikiki area so it's expected. Friends swear by their acai bowl. I tried their chicken avocado salad this time around and was pleasantly surprised. Although pricey, they give you a decent portion and the chicken had a nice grilled taste. My friend got the fried rice which looked good and had a nice sesame oil taste too! I would try that next time. All in all, it is a good spot for breakfast/brunch but expect to spend a bit on your meal. My favorite place for breakfast/brunch. Omelets are great. Home fried potatoes are too. French toast smothered in berries and banana slices are a delight (and my grandsons' favorite). Since I now have time to do things I've been wanting to do, I find myself wanting to go hiking. After soaking in Vitamin D, I find the need to refuel and cool down. I find myself craving for an acai bowl. Recently I reached out to Auntie (Nadine C.) and she suggested Bogart's Café (BC). Located in the small strip mall of Diamond Head Center, BC has been in business since 2000. Back then I understand they started off as a coffee shop offering limited food but has expanded to a full menu offering breakfast/brunch items, seafood, pasta, sandwiches, and assorted beverages, including alcoholic. BG is a cozy café with indoor and outdoor seating. It was a hot morning, so we opted for indoor seating. There is no table service. You need to socially distance stand in line to order and pay for your food. They give you a buzzer and will notify you when your order is ready. This is one of the very few restaurants where they have 2 price listings of cash and plastic. Prices are cheaper if you are paying cash. Seems that BG tacks on the transaction fees incurred when using plastic. Within a few minutes, my buzzer went off so I proceeded to the counter and saw the same staff who rung me up with my acai bowl. I was happy it was served in a ceramic bowl rather than a carryout container. I snapped a couple of photos and it was now time to dig in. VERDICT: Overall, I found the acai bowl very tasty and refreshing. It was beautifully presented with sliced strawberries, bananas, and blueberries. As I dug into my bowl, I saw some fresh drizzled honey and a layer of granola under the fresh fruits. The components were fresh tasting and I really enjoyed the flavor and texture contrasts. So why not 5-stars? As stated in many other reviews, the dedicated parking lot is shared with neighboring businesses and it was a nightmare just trying to enter the parking lot. There were several cars waiting in front of me perhaps hoping for a car to pull out, which ended up causing a backlog. When I looked up to the rear-view mirror, I witnessed multiple cars behind me. I didn't want to hold back traffic on Monsarrat so I ended up looking for neighborhood street parking and walked in. Factoring no table service at BC, for $13 + tax I found the acai bowl to be on the pricier side. It was good but not worth the price tag. I'd be open to come back again but not high on my list due to the challenging parking and pricey food. NOTE: Complimentary glasses of water available upon request. read more

We ordered way too much for the amount of people, but when some have eyes bigger than their stomachs, it works. - Brisket Hash - she said it was good, but was basically country potatoes and big chunks of brisket, not the typical hashiness we are used to. - Spinach Benedict - that was pounded too so must have been ono. Just leftover potatoes. - Mama's Fried Rice - we all tasted that. YUM. Loved the asparagus and spinach and stuff. Different from typical so was very good. Needed meat, but I'd still get it next time. - Breakfast burrito - pretty good. Nothing special. - Bagel - almost $7 bagel with only cream cheese. Little overpriced, but at least they gave choke cream cheese. - Loco Moco w/ ribeye - good but little salty, even for me. Meat soft tho and my scrambled well-done egg was perfectly well-done. - French Toast with berries got mopped by the 2 young boys. Sugar overload but they were happy. - Lobster roll was pretty tasty. Bread a little greasy but nice and toasty. Nice big chunks lobster. Kids liked the waffle fries too. - Coffees and milkshakes - adults and kids happy. The best part...one particular worker. Wow so delectable. I shared with my sister so we had the salty and sweet with the tarp banana pancakes and crab cakes Bennie. The pancakes were really unique! Don't let the taro fool you - looks like raw chicken but they are like a soft carrot. The sauce was really savory and unique. No syrup and you don't need it. Yummy! The Bennie was so yummy. Actually a lot of good stuff going on here, but a flaw pissed me off, so one star, since that's the only thing that seems to get peoples' attention. Business owner, if you read this and contact me to acknowledge my main complaint (avocado), I will be happy to delete/edit. The good: new location at end of same strip mall has more outdoor seating and seems to be a regular hangout for people with dogs. And I like dogs. A lot. So that's kind-of a plus. Except for obnoxious people with dogs. More on that later. Man who took my order was fast and efficient and friendly and made me a very nice cappuccino. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the open kitchen and the way staff was bustling around. Also, it didn't seem like they have jacked up their pricing as much as other businesses, which is appreciated. Negatives: watched a male staff member bring roll sandwich on plate up to leave on counter for pickup too fast; half of the sandwich rolled off plate and onto counter. He just grabbed it with his bare hands and put it back on the plate and served it. I guess this is not the worst thing that you might see happen in a kitchen behind the scenes, but I think the right thing to do would have been to serve the un-dropped half and re-make it and give the customer a new whole one. BUT WHAT REALLY PISSED ME OFF was I ordered the avocado toast, which is toast with cream cheese and avocado topped with green salad and two over-easy eggs. I ordered this because I will pay a restaurant money to serve me a beautiful avocado so I don't have to deal with buying them for home and having them be unripe/too ripe/etc. Basically the plate came out with the greens covering all the avocado so you can't really see the avocado unless you excavate it. I cut up the eggs (perfectly cooked) and in that process I did however notice some gross bad avocado and so I looked further under the greens and they served me quite a lot of bad black/dark over-ripe avocado. I wasn't in the mood for a confrontation so I just put the bad parts aside and ate the rest. The rest was pretty good but why serve a customer spoiled avocado ??? The plate would look a lot better if the greens were on the bottom. They have a nice station in the front for sugar, condiments, ice water etc, but the ice water is dispensed by pushing glass against a lever. So anyone that goes up multiple times for water is pushing their dirty glass onto the same thing you're going to push your glass on. (Or anyone who drains the container filling up their giant water bottle, yes, I'm looking at you, Japanese tourist). So yeah, next time I guess I'll operate this by pressing it with a napkin so my glass rim doesn't touch it. I looked around for, but couldn't find, any public hand sanitizer, which would have been appreciated when my hands were feeling a little sticky. Finally, there were the afore-mentioned dog people bringing their dogs into the restaurant as well, both to sit at tables and to order at the counter, which at first didn't bother me, but there was one indoor table with two dogs at it for a long time. One was a pretty medium-sized brown water dog or spaniel of some type. When they finally left, there was liquid all over the floor, like a huge puddle. I asked a neighbor if the dog had urinated there, and they said no, the woman had put down a water bowl and the water all spilled out of the bowl. Did she clean it up? No, she just high-tailed it out of there. So the next customer (with a baby stroller) had to walk through a big puddle on the floor. My conclusion was that due to idiot customers like that, perhaps dogs shouldn't be allowed inside and the staff should be a bit more strict about that. read more

The only thing I like better than talking about food, is eating! Bogart's Cafe is always pumping with good food and good vibes! You can tell by the line of people waiting to order; it pretty much speaks for itself. It took about 15 min to get our entire order of: - An Açaí Bowl - Breakfast Bagel - Adobo Fried Rice - Cacio e Pepe (Bogarts exclusive with this special cheese that was hand carried back from Dolomites, Italy) - Iced Tea, Mocha Latte, and Ube Latte The staff is diligently working in the kitchen and back of house to get everything out in a timely manner. I can't tell you which was my favorite dish because everything was so good! The açaí bowl with fresh fruits. The breakfast bagel packed with meat, egg and cheese, with a nice crunch when you bite into the bagel. The fried rice with chunks of adobo hidden inside. The Cacio e Pepe with the noodles cooked perfectly and coated with that cheesy peppery sauce. And the drinks to wash it all down. It's been a while since I've tried this place, but we came after going to the Malama Market that was down the road. I came around 12ish and just beat the crowd, shortly after it was busy busy ! the line was to the door. Still got a table though. Ordered an acai bowl and the adobo fried rice and lemme tell you!!!! That adobo fried rice is the best thing ever!!! Just as amazing as I remember. The acai bowl is also always a great choice, whatever honey they use in it is so frikken good! Pounded everything lol. I also got an orange juice which I know orange juice is orange juice but for some reason it hit different in a good way lol! I freaking love this place! The parking is a little bit tough but totally worth it. My husband and I were on the way to the beach and craving a smoothie. There are a lot of places to get smoothies in Hawaii, but this is one of my favorites! Maybe it is just the Hawaiian way, but the staff is super friendly and nice. Even the vibe inside, the restaurant was nice and chill. My husband got the Totally Mango, which is a mango overload in all the best ways! I got the Tropical Sunrise which has fresh banana, pineapple, mango, strawberry, coconut water, and honey in it. This drink really hit the spot! It was refreshing and cold and delicious! A Fresh, Healthy Escape from Waikiki Casual. We were looking for something more local, and FRESH. Bogart's is great, and just a short Uber/Lyft ride or a nice long walk from hotel row. Bright, clean restaurant. We haad 4 different plates and each sampled the others -- unanimous endorsement on all dishes by all of 4 of us.
