I'm never going back to this piece of shit restaurant ever again. Not only are they super slow, but now they recently changed their waiting list to a system where you draw a number out of a small bottle next to the wait list and write your name and the number you got on the list. What an ass backwards way of doing things. We recently went there and wrote our name down along with the pre-assigned number. 10 minutes in, I noticed a party in front of us left because the wait was too long. Then another couple showed up 10 minutes later and noticed the earlier party had put their number back on the table. So this dickhead boyfriend just proceeded to take that number and wrote it next to their names. When it was time for the clueless waitress to call the next table, she just called the number from the party that left previously. The same dickhead just gave her the number they took and she just sat them down. I went up to the waitress and told her this couple just cut in front of about 4 other tables and she just told me he had a number. What the fuck??? At this point, we just got so pissed and left. What a waste of time at this place. The food is not even that good to justify the wait. There are many other hot pot places around the San Gabriel valley to choose from. Stay away from this place!!! Boiling Point is a hot pot place that's always super busy, no matter the time or day! It's best to go earlier to put your name on the waitlist to avoid a long wait. Despite the crowds, the experience is definitely worth it. The portions are quite big, and you can choose between noodles or rice, and the broth spiciness level. I always go for mild because you can add more spice afterward if needed. I usually get the Japanese miso, which comes in a huge portion with lots of pork and seafood. The broth is delicious, and I always end up taking home leftovers! If you run out of broth, they'll refill it for you, which is a nice touch. The service is very quick and attentive, ensuring you have everything you need throughout your meal. Another great perk is their rewards program--you can sign up to accumulate points for a free hot pot. It's a fantastic way to get rewarded for enjoying your favorite dishes. At the end of the meal, they give out free lemon jelly as a dessert, which is a refreshing and delightful way to end your hot pot experience. One of the worst waiter I've ever met!! I went there on a Wednesday afternoon with a friend. It was pretty empty in the restaurant..only a few tables were occupied. When we walked in, no one greeted us so we sat ourselves down at a table. It took them at least 5 minutes to notice us and brought us the menu. After the waiter put the menus down on our table, he walked away immediately!! It was super empty in the room which made me a little pissed off. Only a minute or two after we got our menu, three young ladies walked into the restaurant. It only took like 10seconds for those three young ladies to receive greetings and their menu. Then he stayed at there table waiting for the girls to order. It's like he is the servant of those girls!! I was like what the hell!? Is he like a pervert or something?? Then I waved at him to order but he did not even notice our existence. Then another waitress came over to order our food and drinks. Somehow she never smiled and looks unhappy... Boiling point also made some small changes to their hot pots which I did not like at all. This is a location I visit quite often. Before COVID, most Boiling Point locations generally had poor and unfriendly service. Among them, this branch was at least one of the better ones. As of now, I would say this location offers the best service compared to all the other branches. The staff ask at just the right moment whether they may turn off the burner, and they come to refill the soup exactly when it's needed. They even bring napkins without being asked, which I truly appreciate. When service is this thoughtful and sincere, there's no reason not to leave a generous tip. I've noticed that the service has improved significantly over time, and I feel genuinely thankful for that. In particular, whenever I see young Asian staff members working diligently, I sincerely hope they all achieve great success in their future endeavors. read more

My first time and I gotta give this place a thumbs down. Looks great in photos, but the reality is flavor is lacking, not as much meat as you think, and simply not a mind blowing meal. I had the Taiwanese Spicy and it was not very spicy. I can handle some serious spicy, but this was just chili oil spicy. Not much flavor. Clams were tiny and after going through most of it, it was mainly full of cabbage and tofu. My nieces had the lamb and beef ones and they weren't all that great tasting either. Everything looked great, but without that yumminess factor, no need to return. Service was solid and fast and I give them 2 stars for that. And I love Taiwanese food (used to have a Taiwanese GF that took me to the best places), but this trendy chain restaurant just didn't do it for me. read more

I am a fan of Boiling point. Affordable rate with tasty food. I am a huge fan of Taiwanese Hot pot. I can't stop myself keep coming back for their hot pot. Service is good with the price they are charging. Food serve fast that I like. I especially love their signature bean paste sauce. Very very unique and delicious. With the way they made their be a paste sauce, I can not stop yourself from keep coming back to this place. I like how they serve hot pot with a complimentary green tea or black tea. Looking to warm up with some hot food during the cold weather, I decided to give Boiling Point another try. Unfortunately, it was still a bit disappointing. First, the service felt rushed. The server asked if I was ready to order within two minutes of sitting down, which made me feel a bit pressured. Second, I decided to upgrade from regular rice to their new beef bowl. However, the beef bowl arrived first, and I had to wait another five minutes for the hot pot. Why couldn't they serve them at the same time? Don't they realize the rice gets cold while waiting? Boiling point is simple and delicious. This place is great on a cold winters day, or very good for the day after a night of hardcore drinking, AKA hangover. They have 10 soup options and that's it. You can add sides, but they don't have extra. Let's say if one bowl has bean sprouts, but you order a different bowl, and wanted to add bean sprouts to it, they won't have extra to let you add on. Aside from that, everything else about this place is great. I like the fact that they also take credit cards, because some of these Chinese or Vietnamese restaurants are cash only. read more

Can't lie walking by a whole buncha stores outdoor is nice because you get to window show and see all these interesting things, after a long walk we ended up by a restaurant "boiling point" it looked like an asian place obvisouly so we gave it a shot the line was 30 minutes long we were thinking of leaving but we thought hmm there must be a long line for some reason. It took a long time for our orders to be taken, and even longer for the food to arrive. When it finally did, the dishes were not as flavorful as expected, and some items were even served cold. You'll have to wait and it'll make you very upset. -Everyone has to be in your party to be seated. -If it's not hot for you, ask your server to take the fire out. -If your soup has quickly evaporated or you drank all of it too fast, ask for more soup. -the meal comes with a drink, black or green tea. -they blasted EDM music, so just be ready for that. -last point is no joke. The beef hotpot was rich and savory, even though it wasn' t spicy, while the seafood hotpot had a fresh and slightly sweet broth that I really enjoyed. I always stop by here when I'm in town. Hot pot is delicious and it comes with a drink for lunch hours! Portion size is perfect for me, I finished most of it without being super full like how I usually am when I eat at hotspot places that we have to share the pot. Everything comes out precooked, even the meat (thanks to federal regulations), on top of a flame that's barely covered (you will get burned if you're not careful). Service tends to be slow, and sometimes the wait for a table is really long. Otherwise, it's a pretty cheap place that has tasty food and superb garlic sauce. Make sure to get a stamp card! Unfortunately, each location has its own stamp card, so you can't combine stamps from the Arcadia location w/ the Monterey Park location. read more

Be careful with your receipts. This is the second boiling point location where I've experienced them adding more tip for themselves when they entered the charge. I saved my receipt to match up with my monthly bills and noticed they decided to add an additional two dollars in tip to the total amount that I got charged. Just went there 07/08/2014. The price has increased more than 10%. Please be aware and I recommend everybody no to go there for a while.
