Came in here for lunch during the weekend. My husband and I got the beef noodle soup and dumplings mostly for our toddler. The portion size was pretty great! Qin West Noodle also has some outdoor seating, in which you can dine with you dog, like my husband and I did this past Sunday. Because The Shops at Arcadia are currently running a special promotion called Dine & Discover (where participating eateries and tea shops are providing discounts and/ or special items with your purchase), we ended up decided to come here for lunch. My husband waited for a table outside while I went inside to order the following: Guilin Soup, $14.95 prior to tax- I ordered this for my husband to be mild in terms of spicy-ness. My husband didn't think it was spicy at all but he has been trying to consume less spicy foods. He liked the soup and thought it was flavorful. I didn't get to try any. He thought the meat was good but wished there was more. Zhajiang Noodle, $13.35 prior to tax- I didn't want a soup dish and went for a dry style noodle dish instead. I really liked this dish. It was very saucy with pork and flavors of tomato. I also really liked the sliced cucumbers. The noodles itself was really good and had a nice chew to it. The portion size of this dish was big enough for 2-3 people to share. --------------------------------- (Total= $20.64 after Dine & Discover Promotion of $5 off each dish above). Please note that the above total also included a 2.3% transaction fee. This is where I am rather disappointed and annoyed with my dining experience. This review is just for the popcorn chicken! Came here on a Saturday afternoon during lunar new year weekend and order just the popcorn chicken, which came out pretty quickly, within 5 to 8 minutes. It tasted like it was just fried instead of it just sitting there. Super crispy, hot fresh and just the right amount of seasoning and heat. I was pretty surprised by the amount for 10 bucks. My teenaged boys are usually garbage disposals for food, but even they couldn't finish the noodles and we took everything home and enjoyed it again for lunch the next day. We went to try out this GUI Lin noodles place for their lunch special. It was a very good deal! $15 ish for a pretty big bowl of dry noodles and a side of cucumber cold dish and a cup of lemonade. The portion of the dry noodles are very generous and good portion of thick cut beef. The beef tasted a bit hard for me but it's still good enough overall for me to want to come back again because it's a great deal. The cucumbers were good but it's soaked in mild chili oil. I just hope it's not so oily. The minus one star is because the free lemonade is really not in sync with this type of food. It honestly goes with green tea or something more Asian. Lemonade just really turned me off and it's definitely too sweet. I know it's a set lunch but I just think it should be more thoughtful or even if it's $16 instead to upgrade to a simple unsweetened tea will be match this type of food much better. I was waiting for my boba order to be completed and wanted to see how long I to go order would take here since I was getting hungry. The waitress is really nice and told me it would take anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes depending on the type of noodle I ordered. I went with the Liang Pi and the zhajiang noodles. I was able to customize the level of spicy for the Liang Pi but since my sister doesn't eat too spicy I asked if I could get an extra side of chili on the side. I thought the food was pretty tasty. Located across 3Catea and Meetfresh, this corner noodle shop looks to be owned by an Asian mom and pop. You order at the counter and then find a table either indoors or on the patio. He had a variety of noodle dishes to choose some, as well as sides and drinks. The drinks were more like desserts and had a lot of different ingredients in them, but we opted out this time. I got the Liang Pi which is a popular dry noodle dish that's suitable for the summertime. I'm used to LiangPi being made with a more jelly-like noodle ( Liang fen) but this one was thicker with a rice noodle like consistency. It wasn't as "melt in your mouth" as I would've liked. But I did enjoy the flavor of the seasoning once mixed, which was peanuts and garlicky. This comes without meat, but you can add beef shank for an additional fee. Pro tip: add some black vinegar in the liang pi. My husband got the golden beef soup noodle. This had a sour and spicy cabbage soup that is really good! The beef slices were also tender and thin. I really enjoyed this soup, but it is on the spicier side so because not to choke when slurping up the goodness! However, I really enjoyed the texture and flavor of this noodle. The base version of this dish comes with without meat, but there are add-ons for additional cost. On July 4th, 2024, I was walking out of the mall at The Shops at Santa Anita and I saw Qin West Noodle. I said hmmm, what do we have here? It's a noodle house serving local and homestyle noodle dishes. I love noodles! It was July 4th and they were open on a holiday. I said why not... let's offer some support and patronage so here I am... They were getting ready to close soon so I had to order to-go which was fine with me. The lady behind the counter was very nice and helpful. She gave me some good recommendations. I ended up getting the Dry Mix Noodle (with beef, half egg, and peanuts) and Liang Pi (no meat) both with less spicy plus 1 Mango Sago drink. I enjoyed both noodle dishes... very flavorful! Even though I got less spicy, it was actually more spicy than what I normally prefer, but it was all good... I still took them down like a champ LOL. Mango sago drink was fantastic, but I had a hard time drilling into the bottom of the drink... I still don't know what it was LOL... I will have to ask them next time. Service was quite fast. Water and utensils are available for your convenience... please note it is self-serve. You also need to clean up after yourself so bring your trays and trash up to the wall opening.
