I'm sad to give them 2 stars but after tonight they sure deserve it! This is my third time here and the last two times I had wonderful service. This time though was different. When I got my order, it was wrong! I asked for the Beef Hotpot with NO CORN.. But when I received my hotpot, I got the Beef Hotpot with NO BEEF.. WTH. Totally not what I said. I told one of the waitresses and she said they will redo my order. I mean I'd be happy with the meat on the side but sure that works too, I thought they would make it quickly. GUESS HOW LONG I WAITED FOR MY FOOD?? 30+ minutes! My boyfriend was almost done with his food and I was tempted to just cancel my order. The trainee that took my order never apologized or even gave eye contact to me. She ignored me the rest of the time I was there. Another waitress thankfully was nice and kept me updated on my food. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. There's a variety of hot pots to choose from. I usually get the #4 beef medium. They also have sauces on the side that you can mix to make your own dipping sauce. Be prepared to wait, specially if you stop by on the weekend. read more

Went to one of these places for the first time today. First thing I noticed was how incredibly nice the staff is. Even the trainees do a great job and are cheerful. Happy people make the food taste a lot better and they spicy Taiwanese beef I had was great. Really nice heat to the food. The staff were also very accommodating to my friends which showed up late and seated them nearby. Plenty of walking space in this well laid out dining room and you're not up next to everyone else. We ordered the BP lamb lunch for 2. Everything was amazing and delicious with the broth. However, when we added the "Five Treasure Tofu Pack", things got really really smelly. I didn't know the tofu was fermented and it ended up ruining our meal. We had to air out our entire house for a good 15 minutes! I went to this location during lunch and was able to get a seat fairly quickly. I think the service here was stellar, I have been to the one in Gardena, and this one is much better. I also think that the food tasted better here than the other location because it was friendly. I had asked the server about the new items on the menu and she asked what flavor I was looking for to help me decide. I had decided on the lamb hot pot, it did not disappoint, it was so tasty, the broth was fantastic as was the veggies and meat. Came here for lunch for the first time after being recommended to try this place from many of my friends. Came on a weekday around 3:00 P.M. barely any wait and was greeted and seated by our server Michael. Since it was my first time here Michael recommended me some dishes based on my liking, and I decided to go with the flaming spicy Japanese Miso. Are you serious?!! I'm like the 3-4 person there first thing in the morning. It takes them an avrg of 15 mins to sit me down and like 35-40 mins for the food to actually come out. If I'm lucky leaving me with 10 mins to inhale my soup!! I'm BEYOND irritated and disappointed with my experience. I understand we're all experience a shortage but there's a limit to the patience. I don't understand the lower ratings.. !! The number 8, 9, or 10 (Taiwanese Spicy, Japanese Miso, or Thai) are big enough for two people!! We ordered the Thai one in very spicy and it was so good! Love the clams, crab, shrimp, etc. Good portion for two people at a decent price. The place is really cute actually, with the brick walls and hanging lightbulbs. Menus are slick and clean too. So I was here about a week ago and the service was a little lacking. The food was decent but not great. I came pretty late so there was no wait. So the visit last time would've earned them a 4 star rating. Pretty good, but not exceptional and nothing out of the ordinary. The visit today started out ok. It's Friday, we expected a wait. But we were pretty lucky, agreed to sit at a small table when parties of 2 in front of us refused. So wait time was about 2 minutes. Looked like a lot of staff working but 3 were trainees. Took a little bit to flag down someone to take our order. So we ordered 2 pots, one for each of us. So his pot came out about 15 mins before mine. That's a long time between pots coming out. After my pot came out, we had to remind the server that she needed to light the flame on both pots. About 5 minutes in, we had to flag down another person cause the rice and sides we ordered have not came yet. Trina helped us and she got our rice and 2/3 sides right away. And she's really nice through the rest of the evening. My biggest complaint is that we had a trainee come out with our last side, Napa cabbage. When he put it on the table I looked and saw that some of it was still frozen and most of the vegetables had freezer burn on it. I flagged down the trainee again and asked if he can bring out another side due to the freezer burn. His response was, "all our food is in the same fridge and they all look the same." And walked away. I flagged him down again and asked if they don't have any vegetables there didn't have freezer burn, can I just return that one since I have not touched it and I don't want to eat it. He said "no" and then walked away again...can someone teach this kid some manners. You work in a service industry, learn to provide better customer service! We both noticed that the food in both our pots and our sides were very cold, seems like they were thawed cause I can taste the difference, not fresh or at least its been frozen before. So the food was definitely not good tonight, 1 star. If I can give negative stars to the servers I would, especially the trainee. However if you have Trina as your server then I believe your service will be good. I hope this is just a one time bad experience here cause the first one was good. And other locations have been better than tonight. I will come back, but maybe not anytime soon. read more

I heart B.P.! If I lived in a perfect world, I would be able to enjoy B.P. once a week but that wouldn't be fair for my figure;) On that note, my cravings for B.P. are ridiculous and esp. when the weather is gloomy or raining this is my go-to restaurant. I choose B.P. over pho any day! I've been to the B.P. in Gardena and Westminister but I am very happy that the Cerritos location opened up. Not only is this location close to me but their service is phenomenal. I like their check in/sign in tablet as it allows me to know how long my wait is and also get alerts via text. My favorite hot pot flavors are Taiwanese, tofu & veggies, thai and miso. I would always get an order of quail eggs and tofu on the side. I'm a regular here and come out of work late often. I am always seated when I arrive at 8:30. Today I arrive at the same time, and I am told I cannot dine-in because they are about to close. I am a BOILING POINT FANATIC! I've been going to the original restaurant in Hacienda Heights for years before they opened additional stores in the SGV. In addition, I've been to every single location in SoCal. With that said, the Artesia location is the crappiest one I've been to. Not only was the soup diluted and super bland, but this location also skimps on ingredients. Our pot was only 2/3 full with soup + ingredients. I was standing inside in the waiting area and one of the waiters told us to leave & wait outside with an attitude in his voice. I love the food here but the service sucks now & the seats in the restaurant are so worn out and uncomfortable. You'll be sitting on duck tape if you're seated in one of the booths. The packaging is so sturdy and somehow keeps the food warm during transport. When I first ordered I was skeptical because y'all know how soups don't tend to travel well but the homies at BP do not play and to be honest soup isn't a laughing matter. Now let me tell y'all about the pickup, it is sooo easy, you go pay and all the orders are on tables so your nom nom isn't handled by everyone and their mama, they have hand sani and two containers for pens; clean and dirty, so you sign and squirt some sani and on your way you go. So y'all know how I told you about the packaging? Ok, so check this aside from their A-1 packaging it is mad cute, makes you feel like you're really eating at a restaurant ahh I miss the BP peeps. I love eating hot pot regardless of the weather, but it's especially perfect for those chilly fall and winter nights when you're warmed through from the belly out! I've been to this location a couple times, and it's definitely less crowded (and $1 cheaper!) at lunch. Parties bigger than 4 will also take longer to seat because of their awkwardly placed tables. We waited about 20 minutes last night for 5 people, but they let us put in our order beforehand so our food came out really soon after we sat down. Each hot pot comes with choice of rice or clear noodles (though I think most pots come with some clear noodles in it already). Plenty of add-ons too, but the pot itself is more than enough as is. I like all the flavors, but my mom had the pomelo last night and said it was way too sour. I usually go for the beef, lamb, or house special. Happy they opened a location closer to me :) read more

TL;DR: I got food poisoning from this location. Ah boiling point, one of my favorite hot pot places for the past few years up until today. Last night after a long day doing housework and running errands, my brother, friend, and I decided to get some hot pot. Fortunately the line wasn't long or anything so we were seated within 5 minutes. My brother ordered a lamb pot, while my friend and I both ordered our usual beef pot and mild spicy. Everything tastes fine and dandy and what felt like a normal meal ended up being a one way ticket to the toilet the following morning as both my friend and I got food poisoning from here. I don't know what's up with hot pot restaurants and their lack of cleanliness as of lately, but this is the second time getting food poisoning in my life and both times happen to be at hot pot restaurants. Unfortunately this has left me scarred from ever going back to this place. It's a shame considering the staff provided excellent customer service (+1 star for that) and this boiling point is the closest to my house. The chefs need to be much more diligent on cleanliness in the kitchen or there will be more customers getting food poisoning here. read more

Third time at this location. All the BP locations are good. I've never had a location where I was disappointed with the food. I went around 2 and it was pretty filled but my sister and I were seated right away. We shared the Taiwanese Spicy because we were going to Anaheim Packing District next to eat more. I always wanted to try the Spicy hot pot. I am glad I tried it once because I will never get it again. It is too dang spicy! Of course it was still delicious but I had to take a sip of water after every bite. I got full from the water. Even the extra broth didn't dilute it much. Our stomachs felt a bit uneasy after but we got ice cream so it settled down. Lesson learned: Taiwanese Spicy is indeed spicy. read more

Hot pot is one of my favorite foods and BP does individual hot pot very well (so well that they've patented their own)! I'd wait up to 20-30 min for their delicious #2 beef bowl, and I've also tried the large Japanese-miso style, and most of the food I've tried here is solid. The lunch sets here come with a pre-set pot of your choice, tea, and rice or vermicelli. My favorite is the #2 bowl (I'm not a huge seafood person), which comes with beef, lots of cabbage, glass noodles, imitation crab, enoki, mushroom and their signature spice which adds a nice heat even with a mild order. The shape of the bowl ensures that a portion will always be boiling, and if you want it to cool down faster you can ask the waiter to remove the flame. If there isn't enough flavor, you can also try one of the three signature dipping sauces - spicy, sweet, salty and garlic to your choosing. If you prefer spicy and exotic (like pork blood), go for the Taiwanese #1, but they also have a Thai pot for tom yum lovers, plenty of seafood options, and you can also add whatever you want if you want extra. The drinks here are also pretty solid, I remember really liking the milk tea. Some negatives: you can't replace the rice or vermicelli with ramen (I always pay extra for ramen), the dessert snow cubes are underwhelming and I wouldn't recommend them, and the wait can sometimes be pretty bad. Despite the negatives, BP is satisfying everytime I've had it and one of my favorite meals! read more

First couple times at BP I didn't like it that much, but it has grown on me throughout the years. I usually get the beef hot soup since it has everything I like. Kinda wish we could customize our soup and content though. The sauces are really good, I like the sesame one the most.
