I remember the food was decent which brought me back today! The flavor does not change a lot which is good however the green tea tasted horrible. Me and my friend ordered spicy beef pot and curry milk pot , hers tasted like something stinky and mine tasted like dusty just like they never washed their veggies or something fell on the ground and they just put it back without washing. The curry taste horrible! I couldn't eat it and as soon as I got home I threw up. So did my friend. As chino hills resident I feel so embarrassed that we have such a horrible hotpot place. WARNING!!! This place forging receipts, thank god I did save my receipt. I was at this location Sunday night with friends and we paid by Credit Card and we left a $12.00 cash as tip On the table. This morning I got an email from my bank list of my spendings on my card and saw the charge that Boiling Point. I clearly remember my charge was only in the $70's dollars only. So I looked for my receipt and low and behold. They did add $14.00 dollars on my receipt which I signed for the charge of $74.92 only. I'm hoping that they're not doing this with all their customers. The review is solely because NO ONE EVER PICKS UP THE PHONE. Boiling point is one of my fav hot soup places and I'm big on calling in orders or placing them online so it's ready ahead of time. No one wants to stand and wait around for 30 minutes at a restaurant while the food is prepared. If that was the case I would've just dined in. Suggestion: please have voicemail stating you guys aren't taking phone orders or eventually allow a certain number of orders to be placed online/over the phone per hour so the staff doesn't get overwhelmed. The original hot pot! Been having it for years since they opened in Hacienda heights. Then, had it in rowland heights. One of my favorite restaurants and so happy that it has expanded now to other locations. No matter if it's cold or hot outside, nothing beats hot pot. We request a table with a high chair when we add our name to the list, and when they bring us in, they didn't give us any high chair. We have to get it ourself. The whole time, the staff never come and check on us. At the end, we ask the waiter, if it's ok, if we have 2 people separate the bill, and this guy went to get this immature woman from the back of the counter to speak to us. To top it off She started to raise her voice at us, and asked us if we need to split the check. I ask her again politely, if we can have two people bill separately, then she started to yell at us. I walked the check back to them, and complained, the unprofessional waiter saw me coming, she started to walk away. I came here multiple times with family, and never experienced this, ever. Not sure why some of the reviews have been mentioning bad service, I've been to this location many times and have always received awesome service! Sure the store can be super busy, but it's a popular restaurant and a small place. Make sure to hop on the waitlist early if you're here over the weekend. Theres always a wait no matter what time you go. But just hop on the list and maybe kill some time by checking out the nearby shops. My girlfriend and I ordered the Korean Bean Paste with a medium spice and it was perfect! I always order this particular item even at the other boiling point locations and it never disappoints me. Make sure to try some of the sauces on the side to mix in, it'll definitely add a good kick to your food. Try each of them and see which one you think you'd like the most, they're all pretty good to mix up! On top of that, on our recent visit we had an awesome experience. We were helped very quickly, they constantly checked to see if there was anything we needed, refilled our waters, and even offered us some free tea. They mentioned that the tea was leftovers from their lunch specials so it may be a bit watered down but in my opinion it still tastes delicious. I'd say maybe the only thing that bothered me was that the restaurant was super cold. I guess maybe it's a way to balance out the hot boiling soup? I normally get the Korean Bean Paste. They have a lot of veggies, meat, bean sprouts and other sides as well. My favorite part are the noodles and you get to choose between rice or vermicelli noodles as your extra dish. I guess the only disappointing part about coming here is the wait and how sloppy it can get. When I came here last time, the workers weren't really attentive of the customers. Not sure if they were under employee, but they didn't seem to pay attention as much. I ordered the beef hot pot, looks sure are deceiving because the pot looked a bit small at first. Very flavorful and pretty spicy I got medium spicy and was surprised by the kick it had I can normally handle spicy flavors but this had me coughing lol. I liked the variety of veggies and tofu included. The soup was delicious and I like that they walk around with tea. A complimentary green tea drink was included with the meal. Loved it. I have been coming to Boiling Point at least 1-2 times per month. The Chino Hills location is my local Boiling P. I love their text option when waiting to be seated, because I sit in my car rather than wait outside. I have not had a bad experience at Boiling Point. I feel like they're always attentive to their customers, walking around offering more water or putting out the flames. My go to is the Beef, with a side of vermicelli, and a black tea. If you go during lunch time (which ends at 3) you can upgrade your free drink to a large for $1. *Reminder dinner prices are higher rather than lunch time. BEEF: my bf always get this and loves it. it's definitely one of the classic pots and you can't go wrong with it if it's your first time trying hotpot! LAMB: this was my first pot at boiling point and i loved it too. it's also one of the classic pots and if you like lamb, you can't go wrong trying this either. SPICY MISO & TONKOTSU MISO: i loved their spicy miso pot but they've now replaced it with their tonkotsu miso and it's not the same or as good anymore. :( CURRY POT: I had the milk cream curry for the first time yesterday and I have to say it has got to be one of the best hotpots I've had. It was so flavorful and had some of my favorite ingredients in it. If you like curry, you'll love this pot! SERVICE: It's a hit or miss with this... It depends on if the restaurant is busy or not. They closed at 9pm. Friend tried to eat it. But it's just too spicy for him. He ended up threw away the hot pot. I called next day and spoke to Joe (he said he's the manager). He offered me 10% then 20% off (for the next visit)is the best he can do. I told him the hot pot was too spicy that we had to threw it away 20% is not enough to cover the hot pot. He said no refund nor replacement (offers 20% off next visit. Take it or leave it). Very disappointed. Basically, they wants me to go again use the 20% discount, and then to find out the food is prepared wrong again... hmm I don't think so. We will be taking our business elsewhere. This place is a family favorite of ours! I don't mind some of the uncleanliness of the tables or what not because that's what makes this odd while in the wall special. I say odd because it is a chain haha. The service can definitely improved but I think that is just due to the language barrier. Came here on a Sunday night with a party of 6, the wait wasn't too bad bf cause we trekked out butts over to 85 for some sweet bread. As we finally sat down, we got to ordering. We ended up getting 4 soups. 2 Large ones and 2 small ones to share for the 6 of us. There was more than plenty. Everything hit the spot just right. They always came around to ask if we wanted more broth, water, napkins etc. it's like they know what we're experiencing by eating hot soup and adding chilis. I recommend getting the large seafood one and sharing it because it's so good and huge. Another small advice would be to come here during lunch. Sad to give this place such a low rating. The food is delicious and I love going, but this past experience was not pleasurable. I definitely recommend going, but this location might not be the best. When our name was called, we were greeted by a worker who took a tone with us- not a great way to start when we already waited ~45 minutes (the line at night can be pretty long, there aren't many seats). I ordered the Beef #4 thinking I could switch the Vermicelli for Udon noodles- the waiter did not tell me it was extra. When we got our food, my udon was not there, so I asked a worker, in which I was charged extra. At that point I was pretty hungry so it didn't matter much to me if I got charged more.
