It's really similar to Tasty Pot, with Taiwanese style hot pot where you order your own pot and it comes with all the fixings. I usually order the Beef Pot with medium spice and I always enjoy it. The pot is packed and has everything you need. There's a lot of sauce options on the table to mix and play around with, which is probably my fav part. I love a good sauce!!! I also love the Scallion Gravy Rice here, it's so yummy with the pot. They have good drink and tea options too that are really refreshing, I usually go with the green tea. There was a decent wait when we arrived, so we put our name down and walked around the plaza until we were texted that our table was about to be ready. We waited around 30 to 45 minutes. Food: I ordered the mushroom veggie hot pot. It was ultimately okay. Everything kind of lacked seasoning, so I ended up using a lot of the sauces available on the table to flavor anything. The hot pots come pretty filled with toppings though, so it may feel difficult to mix everything up when you first get it. It was a cold evening, so the hot soup was nice though. I got the lamb pot with no spice and my partner got beef with mild spice, and he was sniffling. I don't know how I've never been here before! I love hot pot and this place definitely satisfied my craving for a bowl of hot soup on a chilly winter day. I came here around 2 with a friend and only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table! They have a waitlist for you to put your name and phone number on when you get there. The food was great! Since it was lunch, you get a free tea (either black tea or green tea) with your meal. You can choose to upgrade it to a large for $1.25, which is what we did. I was wowed by the portions when our food came out! I believe that the Taiwanese spicy was around $22, and you get to choose either a side of rice or vermicelli to go with it. Tried the Milk Cream Curry Hot Soup. I chose non spicy but it still has a little bit of kick from just the curry itself. That little kick complemented the sweetness and made the broth more interesting. The soup was topped with cream which I was not sure what kind. It was not coconut cream. I didn't expect the amount of meat that came with the soup which was a pretty good portion of thinly sliced pork. The soup also had tofu skin, fish ball, imitation crab, corn, cabbage, vermicelli (similar to glass noodles not the Italian kind) and "tempura." I thought it would be an actual shrimp tempura you would get from a Japanese bento but it's more of a fried seafood dough similar to fish ball. Also tried the Beef Soup as medium spicy. It had similar ingredients except the meat was thinly sliced beef and came with tofu cube (yes cube because there was only one piece). The soups were served in a metal pot on top of a warmer that they light up to keep the soup boiling for at least 15 minutes. There were condiments on the table: garlic chili sauce, soybean paste, pepper flakes and soy sauce based. They also have a choice of white rice or vermicelli as side dish to the soup. I also ordered the pork belly dish which was the same meat that was on my soup. Pretty tender and not too fatty. The soup comes with a choice of complementary iced tea (green or black tea) during lunch time. Definitely going back to try the other soups. Nice open dining area. Friendly staff. Boiling point is always a solid favorite of mine when craving some hot pot. This is not the type of hot pot where you get raw ingredients and dip it in boiling broth, boiling point's style is where you get individual bowls with cooked ingredients already added in. A small flame is lit beneath the bowl so that your bowl is perpetually boiling (you can ask them to turn the flame off if it gets too hot), and you can always ask for more broth if your broth boils away! I got the beef at mild spicy and it was relatively spicy. I find that boiling point is always inconsistent with their spice levels no matter which location you go to, so expect your broth to be spicier than it says. That being said, this boiling point's mild spicy was a medium compared to other hot pot places like Tasty pot. read more
