    Close-up of the Stewed Pork

We met up with some friends who frequently come to this restaurant. Though, this was our first time visiting Tai Kee Wonton, and we live nearby! Order via QR code on each table. The food comes out fairly quickly. The service is minimal but sufficient. Inside seating was booths and tables. Fairly cozy and tight. One unisex restroom only. NOTE: 45 minute time limit for dine-in. Especially during peak time. The food quality and authenticity was spot on per our friends. A.5 House Special Beef Noodle Soup (4/5). Flavorful, rich, broth with a slight spice. The beef was cooked until very tender. The noodles were soft yet and a nice firm chewiness. It was perfect. Definitely not overcooked where it becomes waterlogged or mushy. E.5 Combo Stewed Pork Rice Plate & Small Wonton Soup (4/5). The plate came with blanched cabbage, broccoli, a tea egg, minced pork over steamed rice. The pork belly was braised and stewed until fork tender but not over done so it still kept it's shape. The minced pickled mustard greens was the highlight. B.6: Taiwanese Sandwich. It had the same type of meat, the stewed pork belly with minced pickled mustard Greens, a little sauce in a steamed white bun. D&M, Thanks again for spending time with us and treating for lunch! Support your local business.

$23 combo is a bit pricey for a lunch meal. You'd think its a lot of food since it comes with soup, but I was able to eat it all. The popcorn chicken meal is tasty but I've had better Taiwanese bento style meals. My friend's stewed pork had nice flavors and it's quite tender. His meal is a huge portion. Both our meals came with side of veggies and pickled relish. Although this is located in a business district, there were lots of customers pouring in around lunchtime. There is an Asian homey vibe for a lunch place situated in a commercial zone. We ordered via our phone, but we paid to the server. The online menu has photos but couldn't really zoom in on the pictures so you kinda have to guess what some of the side dishes are. I went back/forth on Yelp and their app to order. I'm just thankful to my Elite Yelp friends who take excellent pictures!

Best wontons in the South Bay! We've been coming here for the past couple of years, and the quality is consistent each time. We ordered the Taiwanese wonton soup, house special beef noodle soup, sweet rice with meat in cone, and pork chop rice. Service is always relatively fast, and the crowd has died down in recent years, meaning there's usually no more wait when I go. The sweet rice with meat in cone is akin to a zongzi. The rice is sticky, the meat is tender, and the layer of sweet and sour sauce adds the sweetness. The house beef noodle soup always has super tender meat that melts in your mouth, and I love how they give an ample amount of veggies. The broth is rich and umami. The pork chop rice is always a generous portion, with plenty of veggie sides and an egg. The meat is fluffy and doesn't feel overly oily. The star of the show is the wonton soup! Truly the wontons with the thinnest wonton wrappers I've tried. Super tender and I don't think I could wrap these wontons myself haha. The broth is always light and the bowl is just so easy to finish. Must try wonton soup!

Liked this place quite a bit! Good Taiwanese classics at a fair price point. The Taiwanese beef noodle soup broth was not bad -- could have used a bit more flavor but overall OK. Noodles needed a little bit more bite and texture to them but also fairly minor. My friend liked the wontons that he ordered, and the popcorn basil chicken was fairly tasty. Seems like a friendly mom and pop establishment and would recommend stopping by to support them! Place was fairly packed the entire night I was there so you know they're doing it right.

Tai Kee Wonton is one of the most legit Taiwanese restaurants in the Bay Area. Their beef noodle soup is truly authentic with a rich broth, tender beef, and noodles that taste just like home. This is comfort food at its best and it always hits the spot whenever we are homesick. The portions are very generous. The fried pork chop rice comes out golden and crispy while still juicy inside. The braised pork belly rice is melt-in-your-mouth tender with all the right sides. The Taiwanese popcorn chicken is another favorite, perfectly crunchy with the fragrance of fried basil leaves. Every dish is made with care and comes in a size that will easily fill you up, so it is best not to over-order unless you are really hungry. The restaurant itself has a casual, cozy atmosphere with plenty of seating. Service is simple and efficient which makes it easy to sit down, enjoy a meal, and leave satisfied.

Tucked away in a small plaza. The service is very good and fast. I enjoyed the apps a lot more than the soup. We ordered the popcorn chicken, spicy wontons, wonton noodle soup. The popcorn chicken portion was plentiful and the chicken was very crispy with a lot of basil flavor. The spicy wontons don't look appetizing but I assure you it is good. They do a different sauce here, which i liked a lot. The wonton noodle soup was my least favorite - the broth tasted fine just regular. The noodles were way overcooked. I personally prefer egg noodle for wonton noodle soup. Overall I would still come back.

Family run place with quick service. They always do their main offering the wonton soup pretty well. I think this place is better suited for pickup than a sit down restaurant Pros Wonton are really thin and meaty. Go here for the best Wontons in the bay area. Cons Other menu items are a bit of a hit/miss The restaurant inside is pretty cramped and dark.

We came here for the wonton noodle soup. One bowl we got normal noodle, the other vermicelli. Enjoyed the vermicelli noodle more as I like smaller noodles. The fried fish was great and exactly what I was expecting. Ask for the chili sauce as the spice made everything taste better!

So we were so excited to try this place as I never knew there was such a think as Taiwanese wontons. AND I will say - it was DELICIOUS! The broth was AMAZING and so flavorful - so much pork meat with the THINNEST finest SILKY skin. I definitely loved the won ton and wish I just got that. I ordered the combo - the stewed pork w/rice and small wonton. The broccoli on the plate had NO FLAVOR what so ever - so I put the small pieces in my wonton broth - thank goodness it picked up some of the soup flavor - had to let it sit a bit... AND we had also ordered the eggplant - which had EXCELLENT flavor and sauce but the skin on the eggplant was hard and tough. Not what I'm used to, but we used the eggplant sauce on our broccoli which helped it a lot. As for my stewed pork - I should have gone with a more traditional Taiwanese dish like the fried pork chop because the pork was DRY and flavorless. I plan on taking my left overs and cutting up the pork to make a fried rice and add more flavoring to it. THANK GOODNESS for the chopped pickles - otherwise there would be no flavor... Hubby had the pig feed combo with wonton. That pig feet is HUGE - was tender and tasty. That was actually pretty decent but still with the blandness of the rest of the plate it wasn't the best meal experience. Friends had the fried fish combo and the popcorn chicken combo. They seemed to like it - though the chicken had a different seasoning that what my friend was used to (who is Taiwanese) but she said it was "good". The star definitely is the wonton soup. BUT I also think I should have ordered more traditional like the beef noodle soup. I think we may try it one more time - but definitely need to go early. It's a small place and at 5:50 there was already a line. There's actually a sign saying you have 60 min seating which when we left and saw the line - we totally understand now. A lot of people come with little babies - so very family focused. Even when we got the table they asked if we had kids or need a high chair... OH and you basically order using their QRC on the table. It's pretty expensive but you get ALOT of food. OH and we love when we got the water - it wasn't cold but a little warm! LOVED that...

Finally came around to try this place out. Wontons were good and soup was great. The sticky rice was so nostalgic, but I don't rlly like the sauce on it. It'll be great if it's on the side. Also again. Some condiments would be great ? No chili flakes on the side either. When it came they gave us something like SSAMJUNG. Anyways. Prolly won't come back again soon despite being Taiwanese. Too expensive. 2 bowls of soup and a side came out to be more than $50 with tips. Service was great tho.

I saw an ad for this restaurant known for their wonton recipe that was passed down 5 generations, I knew I had to try it myself. The potted plants in front of the store made me feel like I was visiting a relatives house. Service was good. The special chili sauce with dry noodles and wonton soup was interesting. The chili sauce is very peppery and spicy. I thought the noodles would come with a protein but it was just noodles and bean sprouts and sauce. The wontons were really good, a good amount of filling and the wonton skin was silky soft. Their rice combo dishes seem pretty popular looking around the neighboring tables. I have my eye on trying those next time or a different noodle soup.

This place is a magical hole in a wall that offers amazing wontons, noodles, and Taiwanese dishes. It totally is a family owned establishment and found out that they actually make the wontons skins in house which is something I've never seen or heard before. We've gone here 2 times and I can confidently say that anything on their menu will be tasty and delicious. All the dishes are super packed but at the same time feel very light. My favorite dishes are the wonton soup, guabao, and bamboo. The wonton soup is in a light broth that has a nice Chinese celery and fried shallot taste. The noodles have a great texture but the star of the show is the wontons. Even if you get the wonton soup without the noodles it's a winner and you'll have stomach space for other items. The guabao is heavenly and tastes literally off the streets of Taiwan. It's a must order. The bamboo is definitely an acquired taste but I love it soooo much. Great texture and flavor. Other notable mentions are the sesame noodles that come out warm and are super saucey, the braised pork feet that's super tender and packed with flavor. Overall Tai Kee Wonton is full of heart and comfort food. It's on my list to constantly come back to. You have to try this place!!

After seeing a post on IG about how the president of Taiwan had dined here and loved it of course we had to give it a try. We arrived right when they opened on a Friday and by the time our food arrived the place was fully packed. We ordered the wonton noodle soup, beef noodle soup, spicy wontons, and popcorn chicken. We enjoyed everything we ordered and the wontons were indeed phenomenal. The popcorn chicken was moist, crispy, and you could really taste the fried basil flavor. The spicy wontons definitely had a kick to it but was really good, not your typical chili oil.

We got to try the Firecracker Fries, Spicy Shrimp & Pork Wontons, and the Traditional Beef Noodle Soup with thick noodles. The Firecracker Fries were definitely my favorite. Crispy outside, soft inside, flavorful with a little kick, and honestly addicting. The wontons were soft and packed with filling, although sweeter than spicy to me personally. The beef noodle soup was really comforting. Broth had a nice herbal flavor, noodles were chewy, and the beef was tender. The regular size was actually huge, enough for us to share and still have leftovers to bring home. Service was fast and friendly, we literally the last table there but they really took good care of us. Overall, really great experience and now I'm already craving those Firecracker Fries again.

There was a bit of a wait and you can waitlist on their ipad inside. We waited for about 20-30 minutes.    Before getting seated they ask if you want to do the normal hot pot style or AYCE. The AYCE runs for 90 minutes and is $24.99 during lunch and $30.95 during dinner time. They also charge for leftover food which is $6 per lb. We ended up doing the normal one pot hot pot for each person.    I always get my usual lamb hot pot which already comes with vermicelli noodles and choose rice as my free side dish. There are various levels of spiciness and I chose extra spicy which is a level down from there flaming spicy from what I can recall. Honestly it was not spicy enough but I did not want to get the spiciest level in fear that it would be too oily. Perhaps I will try that the next time to see if it is.    They have a bar further in the back of the restaurant where you can get creat your sauce and get some garnishes for your hot pot. I also noticed they have some other sides like noodles and such next to it. It seems if you are not participating in AYCE you can still get sauces and garnishes but I am not sure about the other sides.    The interior has changed from the last time I came here and it looks nice! Service was standard and everyone was nice. It does feel more chaotic now that they have AYCE but that  is understandable.

People following their cooking passions in cloud kitchens can't always control a lot of the experience beyond their kitchens so it's good to remember that sometimes behind each order is an individual hustling to try to keep a dream alive to own their own place someday. Be kind when you can. I'm saying all this because while the ambiance around the San Jose Downtown Food Hall and Bento Pro isn't great, the restaurant's output is relatively good. Instead of picking up food here in person, I'll probably adjust and order delivery in the future. I dropped my coworker off and ran an errand while she went in to order at the kiosks. There is metered parking in front and we saw reviews about free parking close by but didn't search for it. It wasn't the lunch rush so the area was pretty quiet and a lot of eateries were closed. She placed orders for our group at two different eateries in the food hall and the estimated wait times for both were fast and accurate. Back at the office, I got to sample my coworker's braised chicken quarter bento. The chicken was delicious and the bento was stuffed with sides and white rice. One of the sides, a stir fry vermicelli noodle, was really salty to me but my coworker who prefers very heavily seasoned food liked it. My minced pork dry noodles was similarly very salty. It seemed like someone had done a heavy pour of a concentrated sauce but it was a flavorful salty that I could see promise in so I solved the problem by boiling up a pack of plain ramen noodles, mixing it in, and saving half for dinner. The resulting dish was much more pleasant in sodium, still flavorful with all of the toppings and sauce mixed in, and I didn't have to cook for dinner. Noodles weren't soggy by the time we made it to the office and the whole dish was warm and fresh. Some people would probably have given that experience a low score but this is a relatively new eatery. It's quick, generous in portion, has the right flavors and just needs to work out some early unevenness. Everything worked out and I'm looking forward to trying it again via delivery.
