Was craving some Indian food tonight so I decided to stop at this gem located in a shopping plaza in Centerville Virginia. I had seen they were close to my location and reviews looked inviting so away I went. Parking was great and easy, and the staff was very friendly. Greeted me as I walked in and since I went alone I didn't want to sit right by the door so they allowed me to pick my own table which was very nice. Wasn't too crowded for a Friday night but that's ok. I wasn't really feeling like waiting haha So, since I've never had butter chicken before, I decided to have that, and was extremely happy I ordered it. The chicken was very tender and flavorful, and it came with rice and of course you have to have the garlic naan. They also brought me a bottle of water which was nice so that I didn't have to ask for refills. I would just do it myself. I let them know that this is my first visit, and I let them know that I would leave them a great review because of the service and the delicious food. If you live in the area or if you're visiting, give them a try. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised, and the pricing is pretty affordable, considering the quality of the food. The best Indian food in all of DMV. Ordered the chicken tikka masala and goat Punjabi style meal. For appetizers we had chili chicken and tandoori paneer tikka. My friend Hannah and I went here for dinner after the place we were going to go to only did take out. I am so glad we ended up here. We started with the samosas which were the best I've ever had. May 2022 - COVID Review: My husband decided to dine in one night since this was one of the last places near us that we hadn't tried yet. Service was okay - I think it was the owner that was the sole person working the front taking orders and serving. The reviews didn't steer me wrong! Everything was delicious! Started off with the samosa chat (always one of my favorites). My husband is a big lover of salty lassi. It's a very unique taste- not for me but my husband always enjoys being able to order it if available and thought it was excellent. We got garlic naan which was super fresh, lamb madras (bigger portions than other places it seems), and Mysore masala dosa that also isn't offered everywhere. Service was great as well! I don't live near Centreville but if I did, it would definitely be my default go-to for Indian food. So I picked up from here today and tbh it's pretty good. I got the tandoori half chicken and for my gym goers out there it's a good deal. It tastes good I got it medium spice, I would reccomend getting it a little spicier but the flavor was on point. My fam got the aloo tiki chaat and they liked it. I've been here several times precovid when they had their lunch buffet. The lunch buffet was so worth it. Unfortunately, they aren't doing their lunch buffet anymore bc of covid. Randomly found this place and decided to check it out. It's definitely a gem in an unassuming location but it's in the corner of Centreville Crest Shopping Center. You can call ahead to order and pay when you pick up your food. Love that the food is always piping hot when you pick it up. Medium has a tinge of spice, spicy has the type of heat that slowly crawls up. +Butter chicken: I know this is a "standard typical" dish but it was definitely delicious. There was a good amount of chicken and the sauce was perfectly creamy and seasoned. Will be a to go dish. +Goat Karahi: The goat was soft (but not pull apart tender) and the sauce was so good! It was one of our top dishes there. The goat wasn't gamy at all and it was the perfect accompaniment with rice or naan. +Samosa: These were pretty big and filled with curry flavored potatoes. It comes with two sauces to dip in. This is was the second time we went there. We were a family of seven and overall it was not a very good experience and will absolutely not be going back. We were the only table in the restaurant in a Sunday afternoon and the service was mediocre at best. We were never asked how the food was, dirty plates was not picked up for a while. We were given chipped plates and had to ask for fresh plates and silverware after our apps. My Mysore Masala Dosa had no salt and I barely ate it and send it back letting the server and another gentleman know, the server offered to make another To-Go and I refused AND I was still charged for it. The honey garlic shrimp barely had a garlic flavor and was sweet. It was apparent that the shrimp was just tossed in the sauce and served to us. Keep away from the chicken tikka masala- terrible. The Goat Biryani was good and the Naan was delicious. But this was very disappointing and I now have to discourage everyone that I initially told to visit this place after my first pleasant dining experience here. Craving for authentic masala dosa's led me to try Bombay Bites for the first time as all other local locations were closed for Labor Day weekend. A true hole in the wall place that all of 4 booths and about a handful of tables for seating, had a lovely atmosphere of background music playing for ambience. Two tvs in different corners played random programs on mute (one had in kids cartoons and the other an international soap opera?), but it didn't take away from the feeling of quiet dining. The menu had a variety for selection and we tried the mango lassi which was quickly delivered to the table as it was pre made and in the fridge behind the counter. Was lighter in color (less orange color than I'm used to), but was still yummy to taste. Had the - Masala Dosa (rice pancake made by stuffing of cooked filling of potatoes, fried onions and spices) and served with chutney coconut sauce and sambar - curry of lentils and vegetables cooked with tamarind and other spices), South Indian style Lemon rice - spices of mustard seeds, curry leaves , peanuts for the crunch, dry chili, lemon and fresh lemon juice for a tangy flavor - Lamb Curry which had chunks of lamb in onion and tomato based sauce, flavored with ginger, garlic, tomato puree, chili peppers and a variety of spices, including turmeric, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, cardamom snd served with white rice. Asked for this in medium spice level but could have gotten it spicier for heat but still full of flavor -Butter Chicken prepared with marinated chicken that's first grilled and then served in a rich gravy (curry) made with tomato, butter, etc and served with white rice. Asked for this in mild spice which made this a tad too sweet tasting for my likes. Next time will ask for it spicier to cut down on the sweet flavor Overall, was very impressed that an impromptu visit turned out to be so delightful to warrant a return visit to try other things on the menu! read more

For one, they were so excellent and friendly with our toddler and had a high chair and menu suggestions, and even gave her a free mango lassi because she was getting hangry! Then the food came, and wow.... SO SO SO SO good. We had the samosas (perfect), chicken tikka masala (amazing), lamb curry (very good but not as moan worthy as the other things), and garlic naan (yummm). Save your money. Everything I ordered was bland or downright bad. Very surprising considering the previous reviews. I did order take out though that shouldn't influence the quality of the food. Pani puri- pani was disgusting. The fillings for the puri were the only thing that had some flavor but on the whole the dish was a wash because of the pani. Palak chat- wayy too sweet, and the palak was soggy by the time I got it which could be due to the fact that I had it after a while since I got delivery. This plaza in Centreville got an upgrade. Bombay Bites opened up right before I moved away from Centreville, amidst the chaos of the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic. My first time trying it was tonight, and I'm so glad I did. I haven't found very many places around that do Southern Indian food, so if that's your thing you'll already love Bombay Bites. They have a selection of dosa (which I intend to go back to try). We got the lamb tikka masala, chicken tikka masala, and chicken coconut curry and we loved all three. The spice level was just perfect--it wasn't that spicy but it was also flavorful with a delightful kick to it (I'm sure they could make it super spicy if you asked them to, though). Often I don't feel like places make chicken tikka masala as creamy and rich as I want it to be, but that wasn't a concern here at all. I would even say that this may be my favorite chicken tikka masala in the area. They also gave us some kheer with our order, which is my favorite. It was an awesome way to end a great meal. Bombay Bites is also super cute on the inside. I couldn't stop looking at the decorative tiles on the ceiling. Can't wait to go back and dine there in person when this is all over! The family that operates this restaurant also seems really nice. I wish them well and can't wait to go back to try the rest of their menu. read more
