Was craving Indian food and ordered delivery from them. Ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, the Goan Shrimp Curry and an order of samosas. The samosas were good but the entrees were mainly sauce with very little meat. The portions were decent but the food was very bland.

I love, love Bombay Grill. The food is so good. Also, a lot of vegan/vegetarian options. You can ask to make the dishes spicier if you like spicy food like me. Staff is very friendly and will even suggest entrees if you ask. Nice and airy garden seating area. Will definitely be back! I love everything I've eaten here. The kachoori is a great appetizer, the cheese naan for dipping with your entree and the amazing curry selection they have. You can't go wrong.

It is good to see small businesses operate during these difficult times (Covid19) and Bombay Grill succeeds at this. I called in for an order and within 25 minutes, it was ready for pickup. The food was still piping hot when I got it home. Chicken Saag; 7/10 - I am more accustomed to a spicier and thicker Saag but the way it is made here is very sweet and liquidity. I am not sure if that is their own personal style but it is interesting. There is a very mild nutty taste but the hint of spices is quite lacking here. The chicken was also very scare considering this is a $10.00+ order. Chicken Tikki Masala; 9/10 - This was probably my favorite dish I ordered. It is extremely creamy yet retaining the integrity of the spices. The sauce was perfect over rice or used as a dip for the naan I ordered. They were oddly not scarce with the chicken on this dish. Chicken Vindaloo; 8/10 - Fantastic vindaloo dish with a good amount of heat. The spicy level is probably somewhere between a serrano pepper and cayenne pepper, so be careful you folks out there with the spice tolerance level of a toddler! Garlic Naan & Regular Naan - Not much to say other than the garlic on the garlic naan was overtly burnt, which expels the natural garlic flavors. The regular naan was regular. Free Rice Pudding - Free rice pudding is always a win. It was in a 3 scoop container. Pleasant surprise.

This spot could very well be one of the most under rated restaurants in all of Bay Ridge. Just quality food and really nice people. Nice outdoor, backyard patio seating. Give them a visit and see for yourself. Stopped in for a snack and a beer, and the service was fast and very courteous. Going to start making this a more regular visit.

I am writing this review after my second attempt at ordering delivery from this restaurant. The first time, I ordered their Daily Special and ordered: Samosas: came filled with corn and peas. I am not used to this from any restaurant I have ever been too and it was not something I was expecting or liked. Chicken Curry: came served in a thick gravy. I asked for it to come spicy, and the restaurant did deliver in spice level, but it was just like they poured chili powder in the gravy. It was almost a dark red color (curry is typically a brown or orangey color) and just tasted like chili powder. I ended up discarding the entire meal and just eating the rice and naan. This time, months later, I was craving Indian and decided to order again, but this time completely different items: chicken biryani, kheer, paratha and mango lassi. The delivery took over an hour and the food arrived cold. The bread, lassi and kheer were all tasty. The biryani however had that same chili powder taste (perhaps due to my spicy request again). I really want to give this restaurant points for their kind reception when I called to inquire about my delivery and the way the food was carefully packed and presented. 6 small containers with varying chutneys and raita were included which was a nice touch (raita and kheer were excellent). I have never been to the restaurant so I cannot comment on waiter service or attentiveness, unfortunately.

I stopped by Bombay Grill on a 1pm on a Tuesday to grab a quick bite to eat. When I arrived, it was just me and a couple who appeared to be regulars at Bombay Grill. During this time, they definitely do more take-out orders. The interior seems like a place trying hard to be classy but failing. The pink theme is a shade that can get tacky (like commercial Valentine's Day). Saag is my favorite Indian dish so I had to order a chicken saag ($10.95). While I was waiting for my food, they brought complimentary papadum with the trio of sauces. As others have mentioned, the serving sizes are on the smaller side. If you're hungry, you probably need to fill up on the rice. The saag was unique. All of the other times I've have saag in my life, I can tell that I'm eating a spinach puree. This saag was on the liquidy side (i.e. no chunks of spinach) and the flavor was nothing like I've tasted before. Luckily, I'm a big curry fan so there are very few flavors I won't eat. That being said, I don't think I'd order it again. Chicken here also is a tad on the drier side. However, that doesn't matter as much since it's in curry. The man running the front of the house provided me with excellent service (hence the 4 stars instead of 3). I'm not exaggerating when I say he treated me like a VIP. He did multiple check-backs, refilled my water, and gave me a complimentary dessert (saffron rice pudding). He was the sweetest! I felt welcome at Bombay Grill and would go back to review their other dishes.

This place had quite a few misses & honestly for this price point, I expected so much more. As mentioned this place was overpriced for the quality you get. I ordered the chicken tikka briyani which seemed like an interesting combination. However, the chicken was so dry and the briyani was so bland. Perhaps if you stick to a more traditional briyani selection, you will find it more tasteful. This version just is bland & not particularly tasty. The garlic Naan bread was another disappointment, it lacked garlic to begin with. It's like they skimp on some of the ingredients & they just end up being bland. I will say though that the sweets & sauces were the best part of the meal. Even the complimentary rice pudding they offered. I don't know that I'll order take out from here anymore perhaps I'll try dine in at some point. For now, I'm not sure I'd recommend this place.

I love the food and the atmosphere, but the waiters can be rude sometimes. My best friend and I visited them at 12:30pm when they open at 12 and they didn't take our order until 10 minutes later because they were still setting up the flowers and made us wait before taking our order. It's a good place to eat if you eat later in the day though. Just don't come within the first hour of opening. read more

Discovered this little gem with my mom about a year ago, and have since gone back a few times. The food is super delicious, everything tastes so fresh, and there is so much to choose from! Besides the wonderful food, the service we've gotten from our favorite waiter, an older funny gentleman named Mohammed has only added to our enjoyment of our visits. Mohammed is extremely funny, friendly, sweet, accommodating and attentive. Look forward to coming back again and again! read more

This would be 3.5 stars if that were an option. We came for lunch on a weekend. I was a bit dubious as there was no one else inside but since the reviews were decent, we decided to give it a go. Things started off very well with the channa poori: the chickpeas were super tasty and the poori was puffy and not greasy. The onion chutney was also excellent. I thought the onion pakora (really onion bhaji) was good but cooked a little inconsistently - some pieces were done better than others. The downfall was the shrimp kharai, which we ordered out of nostalgia for back in the day when I was trying to introduce my husband to Indian food at Sixth Street's curry row places, and that was all he would eat. It wasn't bad but it was more like a Jalfrezi with loads of onion and peppers and not much shrimp. read more

Unfortunately I'm not a fan. The food is quite dry and doesn't taste fresh at all - as if the basic ingredients weren't so good. The inside is fairly plain. I will say the waiter was very nice and attentive and the highlight more so than the food. read more

Oh why can't we have a decent Indian restaurant in Bay Ridge? This is not authentic Indian food. It never smells like Indian food nor tastes like Indian food. It is bland, overcooked vegetables over rice. If you like that, please have a great time. read more

So glad this place came to Bay Ridge; I was anxiously awaiting a great Indian spot. The food is amazing; very tasty with big portions. The naan is delicious; soft, chewy, and flavorful. I've had the lamb and chicken and both were tender and delicious. I've had a few of their dishes and none disappoint. I ordered delivery and it took double the estimated time, but hopefully that was just a one time oversight. read more

The food tastes pretty good and it's nice to have decent Indian in Bay Ridge, especially compared to the two others I won't name. But why, why every time I eat their food do I feel like I am going to pass out and/or explode right after? Seriously, WTF do they put in there?? This is the last time I order from here. Fantastic Indian Food! My friend and I ordered veggie samosas, bhatar curry, aloo saag, chicken tikka plate, roti, naan, and a spice tea. Everything was cooked perfectly, spices were on point, things were rich, aromatic, and quality. The samosas were delectable, hot, flakey, and the interior was delicious. Especially with the chutneys they give you! I can eat those 3 chutneys with everything! I really enjoyed the bhatar curry - I forgot what it was but it was delicious. The chicken was very moist and easy to enjoy. It came sizzling on the plate which was very lovely. They also gave us a comp rice pudding for dessert. Score! I wish the staff was a tad more friendly and warmer but they were very attentive and got the job done! My water glass was always filled. Definitely will come back. read more

Great food and service! They give you a free appetizer with sauces. I personally order... Chana Poori I ask for it with plain naan. Then I have chicken tikka Marsala which comes with rice and if you run out of rice they give you more, I believe for free. I order a side of garlic naan, too! They give you a free mini rice pudding dessert. My only recommendations is that they get rid of the mini glass bottles of soda. They are too small and pricy. They should get regular cans of soda or 20 oz bottles. I like diet Pepsi and they should carry it since I'm a great customer. read more

I went here for my birthday in July. Excellent restaurant with great service and fantastic food. Cute little place. Ordered several appetizers including vegetable pakora and samosas. Mushroom saag was delicious. Garlic naan was so tasty. Butter chicken was my entree and I would order it again. Creamy tomato sauce made it something that I really want to have again at this moment!!!! Malai kufta was very good too. Lots of good vegetarian options here. Spices arent overwhelming but perfect for the dishes. Mango rice pudding was delicious and not too sugary, just right!!. Will definitely come again and get take out. read more

I have ordered the food from there many times as it is very close to my apartment. The food is good and delivery is also fast. The reason I gave them 3 starts because they don't pay attention to the request you make in your order even though you call them and make sure that they know. I am allergic to oil and asked them to make food without oil. After placing the order I even called the restaurant to make sure. The person at the restaurant agreed that he saw my request on the order. But, when I got the food I saw the container of my food with lot of oil. I was highly disappointed and ended up cooking. It was waste of money. read more

Came to Bombay Grill for the first and it has the best Indian food I've tried so far. My family and I ordered: chicken tikka masala, lamb tikka masala, seafood masala, and the shrimp tandoori masala (the shrimp one tasted the best to me, but all of the sauces were great!). We also ordered the traditional and lamb naan. Once we placed our order, we were served some kind of Indian cracker with 3 spices (on the house). This came as a surprise and the flavors of the spices were interesting. Also, the rice that came with our dishes was unlimited (just ask for refills!). Our waters were usually full unless the waiters were busy taking phone orders/serving other customers. Very attentive and friendly service. When we asked for our bill, it took a while BUT we were in for another surprise. They prepared mango rice pudding for us (on the house again!) This made our meals complete! :D read more

Great to find a charming Indian restaurant near me. Service was superb. Food was fresh.Place was spotless and lovely. I didn't have to wait too long for food. The Chana Saag (chickpeas cooked with spinach) was da bomb! A filling meal for $9.95. Had cardamom tea to wash down my delicious meal. The complimentary rice pudding made me happy. Will be back to explore the other goodies on the menu. read more

This is our favorite place in the neighborhood to get Indian food. Chicken korma is our go to but everything we've had is delicious. Take out has been on time and always a pleasure! In our paneer tikka masala there was no paneer tikka and no masala. It was just raw paneer floating in ketchup curry. Also daal makhani was made of beans only. Karhai chicken was just ok, it was nothing like curry. Hated the food. read more

This place has been a long time go to for my husband and I. We live about a 15 min drive away (by highway) and we still come about every 1-2 months for pick up. Our favorites are the paratha, garlic naan, mango lassi, lamb tikka masala or lamb vindaloo, sag paneer, and I also love the paneer tikka masala. Great food read more

I heard great things about this place and was excited to try it. I went in today and it was horrible! When my boyfriend and I ordered, the waiter was being very pushy into us ordering more food. "THAT'S IT?!?! YOU DON'T WANT THIS THIS AND THIS?!?" Then, while taking our plates away, he grabbed them out of my hand while I was trying to put my utensils on the plate and had a very snobby attitude. After giving him a tip he deserved for his rude behavior, he screamed in front of the whole restaurant to take it because he didn't want it at all. Although the food was okay, I rather amazing service and average food than excellent food and awful service. Very disappointed in my visit. I have told everyone I know about my experience and would not recommend it to anyone. read more

Had dinner with a friend at this restaurant and have to tell that the service and food is great. we ordered the red snapper tandoori and the mango chicken. hd patatoe patties as appetizers. The red snapper dish was great. great combination between spices and the flavor of the fish. The mango chicken was ok. i should have ordered something else but wanted to try it. personally i didnt liked the sweetness of the dish but that was my own fault. the naan was soft and freshly baked. seating was fast, noise level ok, the service was great. will visit again. read more

We ordered online from the internet address provided on their flyers, but didn't receive the delivery. I called the restaurant 40 mins after I put down the order, they told me the delivery was already out. Another 20 mins later, when I called again. I was told that there wasn't any order going into their system from my address. I checked my account and the online receipt, everything points out that I've already paid my order. No wonder how they didn't receive my order, they didn't want to make my order unless I agree to pay them again. After I pointed out that this was their online order system, yet it was their responsibility to maintain the service, they still refused to provide the food. But promised me to call back in minutes. Again, about 10-15 mins wait, they finally found the order I put down, and preparing to deliver my food. Imagine that my order was put down @12:20 PM, and finally got a confirmation of PREPARING my food @ 1:45PM read more

My first time ordering out and speaking to the person taking the order I asked for chicken tikka and he replied with sauce or not? I asked for tikka and not tikka Marsala so when I replied I asked for tikka his response was "oh my God". I asked what's so "oh my God" and his response I'm sorry I said that. Real professional. If that man is not the owner the owner should reconsider his position. After reading about a ROACH in someone's food I cancelled my order! read more

Bombay Grill's atmosphere is very relaxing, the restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the service and food are fantastic. The portions are a really good size, and we even had leftovers. I forget the names of the meals we had, but they were all chicken-based and delicious. The waiters were very prompt and extremely pleasant. They also have a nice TV playing Indian music videos. I'm not sure if this is normal for Indian restaurants in the city, but it certainly added to Bombay Grill's authentic feel. I would highly recommend this place!! read more

Decent Indian Food. Ordered Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala and Garlic Naan. The naan was really good. But the rest of food was pretty ordinary. Not bad by any means but just decent. The food was not as spicy as I expected. The service was pretty great, No complaints there. read more

On this occasion, I was visiting as part of my work responsibilities. The individuals I support are on limited incomes and cannot afford meals from establishments such as yours, so they bring their own lunches while staff members purchase food and beverages from your business. A manager approached us and informed us that outside food was not permitted, even though purchases had been made. We were then asked to leave and eat outside in the hot weather. I understand that businesses have policies regarding outside food, and I respect the need to enforce them. However, I believe this situation could have been handled with greater compassion and understanding, given that the group consisted of individuals with disabilities who rely on packed lunches due to financial limitations. As someone who has consistently supported your establishment, I was disappointed by the lack of flexibility and empathy shown. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I will no longer be bringing my business or the individuals I support to your establishment. I hope this feedback encourages your management team to consider a more accommodating approach when serving members of the disability community in the future.

After a prolonged absence from Indian cuisine, we decided to revisit this establishment, a place we hadn't dined at in over seven years. As expected, finding parking was a challenge, but after a short walk, we arrived. Despite the initially quiet atmosphere on a Thursday evening, the restaurant quickly filled up, with the staff bustling to accommodate orders, walk-ins, and seated customers. Our host and waiter seemed to have their hands full, but they managed to take our orders promptly. We started with a selection of appetizers, including a special off-menu mixed fried vegetable dish, paired with refreshing drinks. The entrees followed suit shortly after, while we were entertained by traditional dance clips--a pleasant touch. Our meal consisted of garlic naans, parathas, butter chicken, lamb, and red snapper, all expertly prepared and cooked to perfection. While we could have requested spicier dishes, the milder flavors were a hit with the kids. We also indulged in the chicken biryani, which was equally impressive. For dessert, we savored the coconut kulfi, a must-try for those with room for a sweet treat, along with the delightful mango ice cream.
