Just tried this place for the first time and it was delicious. Our waiter was very attentive and answered any questions we had. I don't love spicy food so when he told me I could choose anything on the menu and get it mild I was excited to try a few different items. We had the Naan bread yum if you are a bread lover, cheese Pakora- great app, chicken fried rice and Tandoori Pesh-Kush. My only complaint was it was not busy at all and we waited awhile to get our food. I would recommend this place and we will be back plenty just will make sure we have the time. read more

This place appears like just another Indian Restaurant popping up in a strip mall, with decor and a name that doesn't dispel this feeling. We visited this restaurant last week for dinner when we were vacationing in West Palm Beach area and must say the food & service was excellent. We loved it so much that we went for their lunch buffet, delish all the way. The gulab jamun was the best I've had in years, right taste & temperature. I am part Indian and decided to go to this Indian restaurant after receiving somewhat mixed reviews from friends. We order an appetizer called Samosas for our family and for the neighbors. Long story short, ALL those who consumed had a case of bad stomach for the next 36 hours. The Samosas seemed part-raw and were hurriedly fried. I had an Indian themed dinner party for 20 guests and I decided I would order the food from my favorite go-to Indian restaurant, Bombay Cafe. it had been awhile since I had been there and didn't realize they had moved. The old location was much closer to me but they are worth the drive. I found their new location to be much more spacious & inviting. Kumar helped me place my order and everything was ready for pick up at the time I requested and they even helped me load it into my car. My guests loved the food and our party was a success! I'd like to start off by saying I absolutely love Indian food, and I really wanted to like this place ( the food tasted great, honestly). This is was the only meal I ate yesterday. I came home, immediately took a nap and woke up nauseous. The nausea persisted for 3 hours until I had to throw up. I got sent home from work last night because I had a fever and I was continuously vomiting. It was so awful I was in tears. On my way home I gathered the energy to call and explain what happened. I spoke to the manager. They denied the accusation and shut me down immediately, did not offer any sort of way to make this right and I am the one suffering. This treatment was appalling. I woke up this morning with all severe symptoms gone, just feeling very weak after my night. I'm not saying don't go here, but if you contract food poisoning don't say I didn't warn you. read more

I am giving this place 3 stars. First, the food variety is ok however the desert options are extremely limited, I mean this is not a Chinese buffet that they put out ice cream, gulab jamun or kheer would have been a better option (having something authentic Indian). Second, the chicken tikka didn't have much flavor, it seemed as if it wasn't marinated overnight and it was kept warm by those heating lamps which drove moisture out of the chicken. One of the dishes that was a deal breaker for me was the chicken tikka masala; it was bland and chicken tikka chunks were not used for cooking. The naan was not cook all the way through and Chana masala was watery. Their space is modern and clean but need a lot of improving in the food department. read more

This is a very nice Indian restaurant that has a lot of vegan choices on the menu which is very unusual for Indian food. The service is good and the food is decent but the wine list is only California and no organic choices! This is very disappointing because there's lots of European wines that are so much better than the California choices that they've made. read more

Went to Bombay Cafe for dinner tonight. Started out with dal soup, vegetable samosas, and papadum. All excellent, and they were accompanied by three chutneys. The onion chutney was some of the best I've had. Had paneer makhani and chicken saag for our main courses, with garlic naan. The chicken in the saag was cooked in the curry and was super tender, unlike some restaurants that just par-boil pieces of chicken and add it to what ever dish right before serving, which end up being dry and tasteless in the dish. Glad Bombay Cafe cooks the meat in their curries. Paneer makhani sauce was very tasty and spiced perfectly. Garlic naan was hot and fluffy, and not too garlicky. Found out that they have a lunch buffet during the weekdays. Will definitely be coming back to check that out, as well as returning for dinner! Highly recommend if you're in the Boca area. If you're not in the Boca area, then this place is definitely worth the drive! Wonderful service, and just a pleasant experience overall! read more

Wow! I am so happy we went to the new location for Bombay Cafe for their lunch buffet. I generally do not enjoy Indian buffets but this one is great. We were seated right away and had our choice of a table or booth. The very nice server took our drink order and then we headed to the buffet. At first, I was uncertain about which dishes were vegetarian but I asked the host and he explained that unless if clearly stated it had a meat then it was vegetarian. They don't use any chicken broth, etc. Happy me! There were 6 different vegetarian dishes to choose from. I chose vegetable pakora, baingan bharta, Honey/chili/cheese cauliflower, and Sag panir. The vegetable pakora was fried to perfection with enough crisp to balance the tender vegetables. The baingan bharta was spicy for me but the flavors were so delicious that I didn't mind the spiciness. The honey chili cheese cauliflower was sooooo delicious. The tender pieces of cauliflower mixed with panir in this incredibly favorable sauce made my day! The sag panir was also delicious but the other choices were my personal favorites and I was too full to try much of this dish. The best part about the buffet was that the temperature of the food was perfect. Often I find the food on Indian buffets to be luke warm and I don't like that. The temperature of this food was hot and it showed me they pay attention to detail. The service was done with a smile and I am excited to go back to this vegetarian-friendly restaurant again, as soon as possible. read more

I also eat Indian food all the time and I had extremely awful food poisoning from this place as well! I wish I had seen the other review regarding food poisoning earlier STAY AWAY. I saw the waiter drop my spoon for the onion chutney I requested on the floor, pick it up and stick it back in the bowl. As the waiter was walking over to me he tripped and it splattered everywhere and they had to bring me a new one anyway. If they are that unsanitary with a cup of onion chutney just imagine how lax they are with the rest of their hygienic practices. read more

I eat at Indian restaurants frequently and Bombay Cafe in Fort Lauderdale has always been my favorite. Since I live in Boca, I was very pleased that they opened at this location and the food and service at the Boca store is equal to the quality and service in Fort Lauderdale. The menu is not exactly the same, but all the standard Indian dishes are available with a number of Vegan dishes on tis menu. The service was outstanding and they couldn't do enough to please my party of four. My wife ordered the Tandoori Chicken and I had Baingan Bharta and we were both very happy with our selections.
