Probably the best chicken tikki masala I have ever had. I was in town for 4 weeks and stopped in on a Wednesday night. Service was great, and so was the food. I stopped by the following week on a Friday night and the service was bad. They were way under staffed, and had so many pick up orders they couldn't keep up. My food was delicious though! Wow! If you enjoy Indian cuisine this is THE place. The menu is extensive and all entrees offered in varying degrees of heat (spicyness). I enjoy mild and my husband likes extra hot! Both dishes were served accordingly. The accompanying rice and naan bread was served warm and fresh. The chicken was as tender as any I have ever had! Jays service was friendly, welcoming and helpful. He offered us his suggestions and served us with a smile. I highly recommend Bombay Cafe. Good food, poor management. No complaints at all regarding our meal (other than having to send back stale papadum). However, when a booth of teenagers is making fools of themselves by yelling and laughing for 15 minutes straight without consequence, you can tell the management is impotent. I recommend the chicken madras (mild coconut flavor), chicken tikka masala (a classic), and chicken reshmi kabab (a healthier tandoori option). Get some naan and aloo paratha to dunk in the sauces (delish). The restaurant is large, spacious, modern, and brightly lit, different from most Indian restaurants. There is some Indian art, but the decor is minimalist. I cannot speak for the buffet (have not had it), but I prefer a la carte dining anyway. Overall, the best Indian food that I have had south of Gandhi's in Lake Worth. I'm happy that this place opened near me! read more

Excellent. We've been there twice now in the last two weeks, after having given up in Indian food in the area. My brother and sister-in-law turned us on to the place. By far the best we've eaten at. The lunch buffet is reasonable and high quality; the dinner menu is extensive and everything we had was wonderful. There was a cauliflower dish--it's a fusion Indian-Chinese dish--that was fabulous. So my boyfriend and I have been dying to make it to this place since we've moved far away from the Fort Lauderdale location, finally we get a chance to go, ( they open for lunch then close and open again) so we finally made it to the dinner they served. We get in, nobody is at the front so we wait... as we wait someone walks in and right in front of us as the hostess comes walking up with a takeout order, proceeds to talk to the other guy, he asks for his takeout, then the employee starts talking to another girl who I guess is the actual hostess???? Kind of hard to tell beings that NOBODY IS WEARING A UNIFORM!! so the guy in front of ya gets helped first then we ask the girl if we can just grab a table, we got sat, she gave us menus and water and walked away... we waited for a good 10 minutes, I work in the service industry and there's a 30 second rule, the table waits more than 30 seconds it's been too long of a wait. So we left, and went to 5 spice next door where we managed to walk in, order, and get our food in about the same amount of time it took for us to leave Bombay cafe. Don't recommend unless you have nothing else planned for your day! Horrible service, employees wearing regular clothes, and they ignore you!! Guess they don't want $$. read more

Poor experience: Atmosphere: Poor - bright lights, dried Indian bread crumbs on floor, tv on back wall that flashes the same 30sec add over and over again in a loop, loud rap music with foul language playing on overhead speakers. Service: Poor - took more than 20 minutes to take order. Staff seems distracted and as if customers are an inconvenience. No smile, hurried to take order and then off to other things. Food: Okay - A lot of Indian food in this part of Florida is downright horrible leaving a rancid aftertaste in your mouth. I looked forward to eating in this restaurant. It was very beautifully decorated: clean lines and airy. The service was excellent with constant attention to our table and inquiring whether all was ok. The food looked very appetizing: the samosa were exceptional; the lamb wrapped in thin "bread" was very pretty and was a very large portion but was basically tasteless. The lamb filled naan was very interesting: tasty but needed some more flavor. The chicken Saag had large pieces of chicken smothered in spinach but again was lacking deep rich Indian flavors. Although I asked for mild seasoning as to the "temperature" of the food I didn't mind that it was basically not spicy/hot. After all I had asked for it that way. However even without hotness there should be some flavorful spices that enhance the food. Sorry Bombay Cafe, You are not my favorite. read more

Went there for the lunch buffet during the week. Quite disappointed. It cannot be compared with other Indian buffets in the area, in terms of the choices and qualities of the dishes. The chutneys were mushy. The rice was not cooked. The stir-fried noodle dish is too American/Chineseized. The Dal is very gentrified. The dessert, gajar ka halwa, is more like ground boiled carrots. Bombay Cafe is one of the best Indian Restaurants in South Florida. We order very often as my family loves the Indian food from here. Not only is the food very tasty but it is very clean and the ambiance is amazing, not to mention the staff is extremely friendly. We recently used the catering services for a big anniversary party we held, and it was a big hit our guest were raving about the food. They did a fantastic job from the vegetarian dishes to the non vegetarian dishes everything tasted so good and super fresh.
