I was not aware that this place had a lunch buffet until I saw a Yelp review about it. So a friend and I gave it a try. I wanted one closer than the outlet mall...which I love. Well, this one was quite a winner. But, if you go during the week, you must be here BEFORE noon. This is when you'll still find parking close by and NOT have to stand in a long line for food. When I arrived at 11:50, the place was pretty empty, allowing me to pick any seat! While waiting for my friend, I jumped to the buffet to fill up a plate. Good thing I did. By 12:05, the place was filled. That's when a long line was created almost to the door. Food was well displayed and continuously refilled. There was never a mess or empty trays. Someone was always walking around taking empty plates and refilling water, never interrupting our conversation. Loved their simple, yet elegant decor. It felt spacious with it's tall ceiling. Tables were laid out well to give travel space to and from the buffet. My favorites were Chicken Tikka Masala, Tandori Chicken and eggplant, Bhurtha. They had raita, the cucumber yogurt sauce I dip my naan in and drizzle on my food to lighten up the spiciness. They won my heart when I saw my favorite Indian dessert...Gulab Jamun!!!! (Cheese balls in syrup.) I will make this my go to Indian Buffet that is closer to home. We had a great time catching up at Bombay Cafe. Pretty good Indian food! We ordered garlic naan, chicken vindaloo (pictured), and chicken korma. The chicken vindaloo was just ok. We asked for medium spice and it was pretty weak. We also found a few "chewy" pieces of chicken, and we decided not to finish the dish. On the other hand, the chicken korma was killer! So delicious and creamy. I was scooping it up with the garlic naan. I ended up ordering one more to go for lunch! Side note, their house Cabernet was surprisingly great! Definitely recommend it. read more

I have to admit, I am not a big fan of Indian Food, but Bombay Cafe, which has a lunch buffet for $12.95 is right across the street from my office on Yamato Rd. and has been staring at me into my office window for awhile. I had it bookmarked with not much incentive to go in there until I read Tim F.'s review which I figured based on what he wrote, I could try it and see if I may of liked the buffet and experience the unexpected. There is not much to the place regarding decor, but the buffet was full and bright and definitely looked appetizing, especially the Tandoori Chicken. I was just hoping there were other things on the buffet I liked along with that. I was seated by the host and without a menu. I waited a bit to see if a server was coming to greet me, but no one came over except to give me my water, so I figured I would just get up and start checking out the buffet since that is why I came. The buffet was diverse with Soup, Chicken and Meat dishes, several rice dishes and most of the side dishes were in heavy sauces which is pretty normal for Indian Food. I just had to pick out the ones that did not have Curry because I have never been a fan. There was also a nice presentation of salad items to make your own salad. I started out with the Tandoori Chicken, loved the color and was not really wanting meat for lunch. In addition, I tried the Chama Mushroom which included Chick Peas, Tomato, Onion and Indian spices. There was another chicken dish, which was delicious I added to my plate, Chicken Tikka Masala which was in a red cream sauce. Between the three, it was defiantly a full meal. When I got back to the table from the buffet, there was Naan Plain Bread waiting for me, a lot like a pita bread, and really liked it and was nice to have to balance out the spices, because the Indian Spices can be a little bit too much. I remembered there was soup on the buffet so I poured myself some of the Daal Soup which was a clove flavored lentil soup. I should of started with this from the beginning. They had these little medal soup bowls to serve yourself in which were kind of "cute". As far as the flavors of the food, considering I do not eat Indian food that often, for $12.95, this was a bargain. Quality was as good as I have had anywhere else. The service, well, there wasn't any service here. The only time I saw anyone was when I got seated and when they refilled my water. The servers didn't even talk, not a greeting or a smile. It looked like they were just there to clear plates and pour water. I waited about 5 minutes for a check, and NO CHECK. I asked one of the servers, and she told me "Oh, you just go up to the cashier and pay". Hey thanks, I guess I should of known that. Kidding aside, Bombay does a nice job for a lunch buffet, plenty of choices and good quality for the price. Next time I won't wait for a check and save myself some time. read more

I ordered chicken tikka. From the Uber eats menu, quite deceiving as it's a completely different dish and not easily specified on Bombay Cafes order system. Called the restaurant and they told me it was my fault. It's unfortunate: the food at Bombay Cafe is usually fantastic--the customer service is nowhere near. Tonight, both for me were horrendous. I've ordered from Bombay Cafe several times, and my go-to dish is the egg curry. Today it arrived from Doordash swimming in oil--I'm talking oil soup. It's a given that Indian food is oily, but the dish I received tonight is far from acceptable. I've had the egg curry from here enough to know that the dish was simply made incorrectly. I called to voice my disappointment with a manager. Instead of asking how he can help correct the mistake, he was dismissive of my concerns and implied that I complained only because he refused to add extra rice to my order earlier. Absolutely rude and unsympathetic. He treated me like an inconvenience, interrupted me as I spoke, and told me to file a complaint through Doordash rather than offering to talk to the kitchen or redo my order. The worst thing a manager can do in customer service is make presumptions about his client. The food here is good--I've heard actual Indians say it's the best in Boca. Unfortunately, the service is impersonal and subpar, so much so that I may never eat here again. You've lost a loyal customer tonight. read more

My husband and I found our selves here looking for a hot meal after the hurricane. We didn't quite know what we were getting into... but we were both very happy. The best was the mixed grill appetizer, served with shrimp, two types of chicken, lamb and fish. So delicious! We also had the Chicken Tikka Masala -a dish with chunks of chicken roasted in a clay oven and cooked in a rich red cream sauce. It was just the right amount of spicy. I loved it. If I can give zero stars, I would. Poor customer service, lady barely looks at you and the server brings your food, says two words and leaves abruptly. Papri in paapri chaat were stale. Totally stale. Old like two days. Tough and non crispy. And the onion pieces in the chaat were so huge, they were barely edible. I ordered a mango milkshake. It was literally Maaza juice with a little bit of milk in it to make it creamy. No ice at all. And most importantly, their yelp timings are wrong. Even on their website. They close at 9 on sundays when it's written 10pm. Me and my husband planned on this being a favorite, however we were VERY disappointed. This is NOT GOOD Indian food. Have been working at walking distance for over 2 years and had NO idea this restaurant was there! Not sure why.. well thankfully someone suggested them for lunch because it is a great place to go. It's buffet style lunch, so grab a plate and give it a go! Pretty convenient that they do buffet for lunch because most sit down restaurants take a while. Had most of the "sauced" vegetable entrees to try and the vegetable rice with freshly made Naan. It's been years since I've had Indian cuisine at an establishment, as the one I used to go to, is about 1hr away. Great to know that they're there, blown away that I hadn't heard of them! Indian food is supposed to be full of flavor and intriguing spices, but the food at Bombay Cafe is bland and obvious. Then they took Food from Kababs pre-made and then put them on the platter. The cauliflower and potatoes were undercooked and bland tasting. The dish had a good taste, but the naan was very hard and tough, almost leathery, I'm guessing because I ordered it at the end of the day, it may have been sitting out for quite a while. So this is not the Bombay Cafe I remember from across FAU. I used to skip over there for lunch and enjoy getting my styrofoam box filled with goodness, this location is far removed from that little greasy hole in the wall. Bombay Cafe now located on Yamato is more upscale. It has the usual buffet style dining as an option but the decor is fresh and modern, they have a couple of beer taps and wine options. The hostess was very nice and we picked our seating at the lunch time buffet option. They had several curry options, veggie and meat. Pakoras, Bhagis, chutneys, then hot naan was brought to our table. Our water glasses were promptly refilled and service was otherwise excellent, no plate piling which happens at far too many buffet in the US. Food hit the spot, a nice selection of curries, mostly mild but extremely flavorful. Prices were reasonable for lunch and there were many patrons partaking which gave the place a healthy lunchtime buzz. We will definitely be returning. read more

Almost every dish was drenched in some sauce, with only tandoori chicken standing on its own. I ordered the Lamb Korma which is not meant to be spicy, yet here it was. We also ordered the lamb chops which was tough and smelled like lamb (you're not supposed to smell the lamb if cooked right).
