This is my second car buying experience at Bommarito West County PreOwned and it was just a pleasant as my first. I reached out on their web page about a vehicle and got a response very quickly. I set up a time to come in and meet with Tim McCoy to show me two vehicles I was interested in. Tim was waiting for me when I got there and quickly introduced himself to me. He had the cars up and running with full blast AC on, and thank goodness cause it was hot that day. I did a ton of research prior to viewing the vehicles so I had very little questions for Tim but the ones I did he answered quickly and sharply. Went for a quick test drive of the vehicle and was sold. Tim was a solid sales man and you could tell he cares about customer relationships. The negotiation process was a breeze, I knew what the values were coming into it and Bommarito had fantastic pricing up front. Only played a little bit but hey, it's part of the fun. Bommarito had good financing terms with several banks (always cheaper rates if you go to the bank first), and offered a solid warranty that I bought. All in all it was a fantastic experience and you can tell most Bommarito employees take pride in working there. I always check their website first upon car shopping. We will be back in a few years. I bought a Chevy Bolt EUV last month. Overall I am happy with the vehicle. On purchasing the vehicle I saw the EV charge cable was missing. I was promised a cable. They ordered one from eBay and it arrived a week after I purchased it. On opening the box the supplied cable did not include the adapter to plug into the wall. Well they promised a cable and did not promise it would work I attempted to follow up and see about ordering the needed adapter. They ghosted me. I ended up buying a working cable from Amazon that was cheaper than the OEM cable from eBay. read more

Was sold a dangerous car, after I spent money to make it safe enough to take back to them to let them finish the repairs to get it to pass a legitimate safety inspection. A week after they gave it back to me, the transmission went out. They eventually agreed to buy the vehicle back but played games when trying to get the check and our license plates back. This all happened in about a month and 1.5k miles. By the time this is said and done I am out over $2k, wasted my time, missed work, and put me in danger with a vehicle that literally rolled backwards while in drive. Buyer beware! read more

To start off, I wired over $12,000 for a "new to me" car. The salesman told me "we don't sell bad cars." Boy, do I have a story! The windshield wiper flew off in the first week. In the first month, I took my car for a wheel alignment and oil change. They informed me the wrong size Bommarito battery was put in my 2017 Hyundai Tuscan. Called the service manager Grant who was the most unpleasant person I have ever spoken to in the business. Ended up being sent to a different service shop of theirs because of this. And indeed, no matter what Grant said, they did put the wrong size battery in which broke the air filter cover. They replaced these things. Fast forward to April 15th, 2026. I have had this car 100 days. I am 11 hours away heading to Florida and my oil pump goes out, my engine is destroyed and both of my catalytic converters. They did not offer me a warranty HOWEVER there is no WAY that a car with 88,000 miles didn't have faulty parts before this happened. This took faulty parts or years of neglect which didn't happen in 3 months I had the car. I had the car 100 days. I was stranded in Georgia for 24 hours with a 4 year old and an 11 week old baby. I paid over $3000 to rent a car, get a hotel room and still waiting for my car to be shipped back. I have left messages for two managers, and so has my son. It's been 10 days and NO ONE has bothered to call me back. I spent everything I had for a car cash just for the engine, oil pump and catalytic converters to go out in 100 days. And no one there cares about the single mom that works numerous jobs and finally bought a decent car with cash. I cannot even get a phone call. This place is literally a nightmare. I would give negative stars if I could. I literally have no car now and have gone through the worst stress and depression and they just do not care. read more

Scott Berry, Dennis McGrath, and Chuck Walsh are all swindlers. The epitome of sleazy used car salesmen. Buyers Beware!! I live in San Diego, California, and on Wednesday, June 11, 2020, I found the vehicle I thought I wanted via USAA's Car Buying Service. I called to ask if the vehicle was available; it was. Shortly after the initial phone call, Scott Berry sent me a video walk-around of the vehicle via text. Through the lens of the camera, everything seemed to be in order. I called him back and had a brief discussion about upgrading the infotainment system with Apple Carplay since the 2018 model didn't have it, but the 2019 did. I knew there was a charge for the upgrade, but assuming the car was in sellable shape, I asked them to install it before I arrived on the evening of Friday, June 12th. Shortly after landing in St. Louis, I received an email from Scott Berry saying my car was ready for delivery and they'd see me when I arrived. To my dismay, when I arrived at the dealership it was evident the car had not been washed or detailed inside. The floor mat on the driver's side was dirty and the center counsel and seats had spots resembling soda spray all over them. While adjusting the rearview mirror I noticed something odd with the rear passenger seat. I got out to inspect it further and discovered the leather seat was ripped! I mentioned this to Mr. Berry, and all he could do was play dumb and suggest this was the first time he'd seen it. Then he sent the car to get detailed after I complained of the cleanliness. The car literally had a wasps' nest in the hatchback area. When I asked for the leather to be replaced, he said they'd repair it. I said, no way. I want it replaced. You tried to pull a fast one and hoped I wouldn't notice the damage before I drove off. How many employees went through that car before you told me via email it was, "ready for delivery." The car came back from, "detail," and I began inspecting again. I noticed a scratch on the passenger side front window. You could see through the tint. There were two large scratches along the bottom of the back hatch that someone did an extremely poor job of fixing, but they told me it was the best they could do. The rearmost compartment of the vehicle was a mess. Someone had loaded lumber or something inside and it chewed up all the plastic. Remnants of the lumber were still inside, and the rear seat passthrough was chewed up as well and had a pine-tar like substance stuck to it. After traveling 2,000 miles and being confronted with a vehicle in such a state was mind-boggling and disheartening. I can only chalk it up to a lack of caring and downright disrespect. I told them I would not be purchasing this vehicle because they had not been forthcoming with all of the damage. I then asked for my $500 deposit back. I was told the deposit was only to hold the vehicle until I arrived. I signed no paperwork regarding the deposit. They refused to return my deposit because, as they said, I modified the vehicle by having the CarPlay installed. I said that agreement was in good faith, assuming the vehicle was everything they said it was and not what it wasn't. They held firm, so I left and bought a more expensive vehicle less than an hour later from another dealership in St. Peters. The bottom line is these people were under the impression they had me over a barrel when I flew in to pick up this vehicle. They most definitely tried to pass this damage off onto me by assuming I wouldn't notice until I drove away. read more

I usually don't do reviews, but this is unbelievable. Bought a used Audi and 2 miles down the road the brake pad warning came on, went back the next day and was told 30 min. 3.5 hours later the brakes where fixed but the promised cleaning of the calipers ( really Rusty) wasn't done. Makes me wonder after the car had new tires on....why didn't they fix the breaks back then . And what else do they try to get by on a used car they bought at a auction with only 2 prior services done.... Nobody told me about. I would give negative stars if that was an option. The worst customer service ever!! My son is 19 and went in to buy his first car, a 2014 used Audi, 110k miles. Aside from the fact they made him pay full sticker price and put him in a 10% loan (without our knowledge - he's of age) after a couple weeks, he noticed the car kept needing oil. He got zero help when going back to bommarito so he called Audi corporate and they paid for bommarito to do an oil consumption test. Turned out car needed an engine overhaul to about the tune of $7500! This all happened within about six weeks of purchasing the car--still had temporary tags. Audi corporation said they couldn't help him since it was a used car. DENNIS MCGRATH, GM @ Bommarito said he had to pay sales tax before they'd talk to him or trade him into a different used car so he went to the DMV to pay it, only to find out bommarito was in violation of their contract, which stated they would provide the title paperwork to him within one month .... So he couldn't even pay the sales tax. He went in to talk to Dennis and co (who insisted covid gave them extra time) and they demanded he sign the title paperwork right then or they wouldn't discuss options with him. He refused since at this point he figured they would stick him with the car and walk away if he signed. They said they wouldn't talk to him further until he signed so he left, leaving keys and car with them. He filed a complaint with missouri and within days, Dennis said they had a check ready for him but required him to sign a release before they'd give it to him. They also refused to reimburse the insurance cost he paid while it was sitting on their lot. All I have to say is that this kid is in school toward becoming an oral surgeon (he's already a surgical assistant at age 19) so when he can afford to walk in and pay cash for a new Audi or other high end vehicle, he certainly won't be doing business with Bommarito! My daughter bought a used vehicle from these folks, late October, and luckily had purchased extended warranty. First day home car wouldn't start, but because of warranty they brought it back and replaced alternator, but would not replace the bad battery, She was out of luck and had to spring for a new one after 1 day. We been dealing with this car on a couple thing, the biggest being it going in and out of limp mode. Also they supposedly done a state inspection, but the back brakes are scrapping, there's no way these past inspection. Now here's the stick. I called asking if they would bring it in and go over it. No concern, no empathy For a young lady who needs a vehicle for work. In fact I was told when she drove it off lot, the first stop sign, if the car breaks down, it was on her. As for as the scrapping noise coming from brakes, he literally told me, maybe the tires were to big. In large part, his attitude, prompted me to explain to him , I would not just except what he said, and would put this whats up out there, his response was, you can do whatever you want. Some of the most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with. I bought a car from them over a year ago and it was unprofessionalism from the start. I just picked my car up and had almost 5000 dollars in repairs due to damage that BMW stated probably came from an accident, IVE NEVER HAD AN ACCIDENT since i have owned the vehicle, I contacted the dealer and left a message for the manager SEVERAL times to date NO ONE HAS EVER CALLED. They claimed to have fixed a radio button THAT WAS BROKEN when i first purchased the car THAT ALSO had to be replaced and had not been repaired. THE ONLY GOOD thing they did was offer a warranty that covered these things or else I would be in a world of trouble! There today for oil change, fixes on some electric systems and lights. I pulled into the highly warmed bay, service man came to welcome me, and he knew exactly what I was there to get repaired!! I've been going there since I bought the car there in 2001, and it's really nice to know that they KNOW who I am! But I must clarify about the oil change punch-card: It's buy 4 and the 5th one is free. Pretty darned good deal. read more

The process of buying my truck was a little bumpy, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. I gave a very favorable review when they called with an automated system right after I bought the car. But right after I did that review I found a LOCKED GUN SAFE tethered to the drivers seat and they won't help me. No one will even call me back. How did this vehicle go thru multiple inspections and no one noticed a GUN SAFE on a chain under the seat. I have no idea what is in it and what I'm driving around with in my car. They won't return my calls or do anything. It's ridiculous and unprofessional. read more

Worst car buying experience over the last 20 years. Spoke to several sales people, Mike and Kevin, who both knew the car I was interested in. They also knew that I lived 5 hours away. I informed them I was in my way with my daughter to see the car. Once I arrived they let me drive the car. After driving the car they informed me it had been sold. All they could say was sorry. Poor customer service and no loyalty. All other car dealerships I went to this past week told me they would have pulled the car had they known I was driving 5 hours to see it or even offered to take a deposit. Still can't believe how badly I was treated. But it was a good life lesson for my 21 yr old daughter. read more

Terrible experience. Found a XT6 online and submitted an inquiry. A salesman called me within 30 minutes and I made an appointment to see the vehicle at 3:30 that afternoon. The salesman told me he would text me his name and address for reference. The text never came. I showed up and went to the wrong building. Another salesman, "Charles" was kind enough to help me. He looked me up in their system and it was not noted who took "my lead" He asked me to call the number that called me; I called it and got "Nicks" voice mail. Charles sent me to the other building to see Nick. I was there to see a blacked out AWD vehicle, Nick put me in a white FWD vehicle and told me to check it out while he got the one I requested. After sitting 15 minutes in a vehicle I did not want, Nick showed up with a fob in his hand and no XT6. He said the car was in his sales managers garage. Nick said he would bring it to my work to see on Friday. I did not hear from Nick at 1:00 on Friday so I got online to look the car up to make an appointment for Saturday. The car is now sold. I can only assume at this point it was not available when I went in the first time, they were using that car to get me in there as a bait and switch. This is the very thing that makes car shopping a miserable experience. What a complete waste of time. read more

I am not one to write reviews but my experience at this dealership was so awful that I feel the need to warn others. In the past two weeks I have been to 15 dealerships and this dealership is by far my worst experience. Being a young female working in the automotive industry I am used to unsolicited comments from males but never did I expect to experience this at a dealership. Don Thoele is by far the worst car salesmen I have met on my search for a vehicle, I wouldn't recommend him to anyone looking for a car. My initial experience at this dealership was so uncomfortable and inappropriate that I never thought I would be back. Between the comments Don and his manager Dennis McGrath made about my appearance I left feeling extremely uncomfortable. Not only did Don fail to treat me with respect he also failed to get off the golf cart and talk to me about each car as a salesman should. After my initial experience I went back to the dealership only because they had a car I was interested in, but this time I brought my boyfriend hoping it would improve how I was treated but I was wrong. Don made a comment about my appearance to my boyfriend which made both of us extremely uncomfortable. The day prior we had made arrangements with Don to bring the car to a mechanic in the morning and once we arrived the car was nowhere to be found, when it should have been pulled up outside like at every other dealership. We wondered around the parking lot for about 15 minutes trying to find the car after Don took our information only for him to tell us someone was looking at the car so we could no longer take it (a few hours later he called back to tell me the car was available, obviously I wasn't interested anymore). Not only was I an hour late to work for nothing he also wasted my boyfriends time. I can't speak for everyone at the dealership but Don and Dennis are extremely unprofessional and I will never be going back to this dealership again. If you are young and female I would steer clear of this dealership, but regardless I wouldn't want to give my money to salesmen like that. If you are looking for a very respectful and professional car salesmen I would HIGHLY recommend Miles at Bommarito Mazda St.Peters he made the car buying process very quick and easy to understand for a first time car owner! read more

Please stay away! Really disappointed since I originally bought my truck here years ago! I used to get the works oil change until recently every time I would come in they would say I needed something fixed. I finally decided to take my truck somewhere else. I took it to Joes Garage and also Plaza tire service and both places said my car did not need the work???? Wow what a surprise? How many repairs do you think I have paid for without needing. To top it off you losers sent me a big truck month flyer stating I could trade my truck in and pay $53,000 for a new truck??? I would have a payment of $783 a month at a 4.9% rate???????????? WHAT???? So basically a new truck with my trade in value would cost me $73,000. I am really pissed at being insulted after being a customer for eight years!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shame on you! First of all, most car dealerships are overpriced and try to get every dollar they can from you. However, I understand that and would never write a complaint about it. They haggled and came to a fair price no problem. Great sales people here. That being said, the finance manager at this location is a man who says things he WILL NOT do. I have called and left him around 10 voicemails without getting one response. Every time I speak with the secretary she is happy to connect me to his office and then returns and says that he is with a customer... Would you like to leave a voicemail? WTF why in the world would I want to do that when the last 10 I have left him have probably just been deleted, not an "honest mistake." The guy is either lazy as all hell or just is ready to lose his job, maybe both. Someone needs to realize the problem at Bommarito West County and correct it. My family and I have purchased 4 vehicles from this location and have never dealt with anyone so careless and unresponsive. Goodbye Bommarito West County! read more

Sleazy Sales Tactics!! Drove in from some distance for a test drive appointment. Upon arrival I got the: "Sorry, that car was just sold...but we do have others.." Classic bait and switch. Sales appointments are not held. I was not informed with a call or a text and in light that Gary Kinder knew I was in transit this (what he told me was policy) amounts to a complete lack of common decency in favor of a possible "switch sale." Do not fall for these tactics. Bommarito sales staff (Gary Kinder, specifically) believes that they know better than you what you should drive. read more

I had a great experience buying a Motor Trend Certified Jeep Wrangler. The salesman greeted us promptly. He was very polite and not overly pushy. He took us on a great test drive route. We had a couple more Jeeps at another dealer to look at, and we received the the stereotypical car salesman attitude at the second dealership . I ended up purchasing the Jeep at Bommarito, both the the salesman and finance manager stayed a little late to make sure I was able to walk out with the keys! I was assisted by JT in a recent purchase of a VW 2009 EOS. The salesman was very friendly. I seem to have got a good deal on price. There are a few things on the service side that slighly tainted the experience. For example, I was promised a full tank of gas, however when I picked the car up there was less than a half a tank. In addition, it seems when detailing the car they were a little over-zealous with the prep or they'd missed some areas with the buffing as there were large patches on the left and right side of the boot that felt and looked matt/rough. I was able to get these areas shining with the polishing cream from a scratch repair kit and a bit of elbow grease. But still, it wasn't something I expected to have to do. I know I'm probably being a bit picky but this was the reason I only gave an "A-OK" rating. read more

I bought what was supposed to be an entirely NEW Nissan Versa from Bommarito in 2011. After several years of street parking, I had bumps on my bumper that I went to my local mechanic to get sorted out. When I picked up the car, he asked when the car had been in an accident. I explained that I was the sole owner, and the car and I had never been in an accident. He pointed out that pieces under the hood did not match the color code of the car and that the bolts, etc., were not from the manufacturer. (It's worth pointing out he wasn't trying to sell me anything.) In other words, something happened to this car before I drove it off the Bommarito lot. read more

My husband and will probably not buy another car from here. First, the car dealer took two personal calls from his niece during our transaction. Then we discussed issues with the car and he was ready to sell us the car at asking price. We negotiated and then went to do the paper work. The business manager was rude and when we ask questions he was rude again. We told them that the financing was done somewhere else. The business manager ended up having my husband sign for the extended Warranty and gap insurance making my husband feel under pressure to sign. He was supposed to have the paperwork sent to the other place and then sign there. So we went back 4 days later. Got the run around. Had to go back the next day. My husband signed the papers for not wanting the extra warranty. That was almost a week ago. The financial place called me and the original amount including the 2900.00 fir the warranty still went through. Talked to a different business manager today. He was also rude. Told me that they have to wait to get the money back from the warranty place then they will pay our financial place. This is going to take another week. Why, in this day when everything is electronically done would it take a week. We purchased the car at the end if July and 12 days later I still am trying to get everything done. read more
