I've been coming to this location for a few years now and I can say it's one of the best restaurants in Arlington. Granted, it's only 1 of 2 Korean BBQ locations in Arlington, but I'm still very happy that they opened up a location in Arlington. Even after a few years and increasing popularity, I haven't noticed any decline in food quality or service, and it's always a good time coming here. Like any other Korean BBQ restaurant, you're given a menu of meat selections that you grill right at your table for an AYCE experience! The meats themselves aren't the best I've had, nor do they give as much as other KBBQ restaurants. In general, the meat is pretty inconsistent with fat vs lean mean and for a lot of them, they're pretty rough and chewy, not as tender as you'd might expect. But it certainly does suffice! What sets this place apart is the buffet they also provide. The buffet has more selections of raw meat you can bring back to your table to grill, but it also has a fair share of cooked foods that are really quite tasty! I have a big fan of Korean BBQ - so when we found ourselves not too far from Jin we decided to give it a shot. PROS: - Wonderful Service! This might have been the best service I've ever had with Korean BBQ - their light design when you need something is very smart. But there were also several times we needed refills, etc and they stopped by and offered it before we flipped the service light on. - I liked that they had everything lined up buffet style, so unlike other Korean BBQ places, we did not have to wait for someone to come take the order, and then for the meat to come out. This allowed us to get through dinner much quicker. - Good price. Dinner was $21.99 each, which is about average for similar place. No complaints here. CONS: - Compared to other Korean BBQ places, I think the quality of meat here was not as good. Don't get me wrong, it was not the kind of quality that you'd get sick over... just not as flavorful or fresh. - They seemed much more limited on the meat offerings here - they had all the basics, but that was about all. It's so sad that Houston doesn't have any solid All you can eat korean BBQ options. We have some decent to order ones, but you end up paying 2x as much. I heard DFW area has a lot of options and lucky for us we were only a few minutes away from this location. We came a little bit after they had opened so there was no wait. This was the first time I had seen the buffet option, where you can grab your own meats, along with ordering from their menu. From the buffet you are able to get some of the most popular meats, such as bulbogi (spicy or non), along with sides and soups. It's nice because, you can get as much or little as you want. From the menu, I highly recommend the LA Gaibi. The other meats were good too, just nothing that blew me away. Overall, the service was on point, we had our grill replaced 3x during our meal. Korean barbecue always entices me when am hungry. The thought of eating a ton of grilled meat, sizzling on the pan, dipped in some sort of salty oil, along with shoving chopsticks-full of fermented vegetables with red chili sauce into my mouth just fills me with delight. Until l realize that in actuality I can't eat that much anymore. I'm a 4 tiny pork ribs and done kind of gal these days. I know. You don't have to say it. I'm already feeling the shame. Jin is cool in that you can order some of the meat (the more expensive cuts) and the rest are up for grabs. Though after ordering like 3 things we were basically stuffed. Sniffle* and could not eat more. Their weekend menu is dinner only so it's around $20 per person and the weekday lunch menu is $15. Coming in for the first time, the hosts quickly sat my party to our table and went over the rules of the restaurant.. which were incredibly simple. There's a bar of other extra plates of meat that you could just pick up at the center of the restaurant to bring back and also a handful other dishes they offer on their menu. All we had to do was call out the food, grab what we want from the food bar and bring back, and cook everything on our grille ourselves. You will find multiple "salad bars" and soups to find whatever you desire. Chicken, pork, beef...even vegetables and noodles. Meats on the bar are raw, so you cook everything at your table. There are some items you can order off the menu that are included in the AYCE. If you are unsure about what you are doing, ask. Not sure what something is? Ask! So many options to enjoy. This could be a fun place to go with a group of friends or family. You could even just make it a fun date night with that special someone. Love the buffet! They have a variety of food, including cooked meats and kimchi fried rice. They even have seafood on the buffet like squid and octopus. LOVE LOVE LOVE the cucumber, radish, and regular kimchi they have there. Their dessert drink on the menu is a must get. Not to mention the service is also great, they are very attentive to all your needs. The only reason it lost one star for me was the grills. I've gone twice and I have only gotten the nice grill ONCE and the meat cooked so nicely on it. I use to like this place as I thought it was the better tasting kbbq in Arlington, but it's gone downhill. Maybe because of COVID-19 but man the food had zero taste. The kimchi fried rice had literal hard pieces of rice in it & was cold. I ordered spicy bulgogi but it wasn't spicy at all. Just red and tasted like it was marinated in bean paste. Also this place doesn't do the buffet anymore cuz of COVID-19 so you order off a paper menu and they bring it to you. The place is nice inside and has a lounge ambience. Loved being able to cook my own food and eat it right off the grill. The prepared food options were okay but would rather have my rice a little less sticky. The raw options were kept in a very clean and sanitized location. The only complaint I have is I wouldve appreciated if the waitstaff didn't assume I knew what to do. We sat at the table and no one asked if we'd been there before or knew how it worked. I've had my fair share of Korean BBQ in the Midwest and this by far is the best for it's price. A lot of people rave about Omi and Gen, but in my opinion, Jin wins. The reason I choose Jin over Omi and Gen is because of the service, price, sides, and flavor of the meats. The staff is always friendly and I never have to ask for a grill change! The atmosphere is a mix between family friendly and a night-life feel w/the blue up-lighting, which is fine w/me. The restaurant overall is very clean. The set up is buffet style. You get up and grab your own sides and choose from a selection of meats to grill yourself. You don't have to hassle your server for more sides or meat when you run out. We love sides and tend to always run out fast, leaving us stuck waiting for the server to bring us more. I remember eating at Omi and Gen and always getting the stink face when I ask for more sides. They also have premium meats on the menu that you have to ask for. I believe they do this so that customers don't waste the expensive meat, which is understandable. The LA Kalbi and Pineapple Kalbi are my favorite. From the buffet selection, I recommend the spicy pork, tripe, and intestine! The flavor and quality of the meat is excellent. I used to think Omi and Gen had better quality meat, but recently Jin has stepped their game up! The lunch price is only $14.99 and you basically get all the same meats and sides as the dinner menu (minus beef tongue and thin sliced pork belly). You can't beat that! We've been here for dinner ($19.99) and lunch and have not been disappointed during each visit. They also have Korean Hot Wings that you can order off the menu, which are OK. Nothing too special about them. I don't suggest ordering a lot because the wings are huge and you don't want to get too full off of that! Whenever I ordered things that were off the menu rather than at the buffet they were not good. Very tough, and the meat did not look fresh at all. I thought everything was delicious and we actually enjoyed being present and in the moment with each other .. being grillmasters instead of silently browsing social media while absent-mindedly wolfing down our meals. We spent time together and laughed .. we enjoyed the evening so much! The short ribs and the galbi steak were our FAVORITES and therefore we kept the server busy bringing several plates of that out. I loved the sides they have on the buffet, so you have plenty to occupy yourself while you're waiting on your meat to cook. The Miso Chicken you can grab from the buffet line was delicious. Totally worth the wait, as chicken takes the longest to cook. The best sides were the japchae noodles and the macaroni salad. I also learned that if you mix the sweet and sour salad dressing with the black sesame dressing, you make a wonderful dipping sauce for the less flavorful meats, such as the brisket and pork belly. This is one of the few Korean restaurants in Arlington. It was my first time coming here and I came here with friends to celebrate a birthday dinner. Our waitress was Julie and she was friendly. The environment reminded me of Gen's in Carrollton with the blue lights in the background and not too loud music. The dinner all you can eat buffet is 19.99 per person. The buffet had the normal meats (they also have squid) and Korean side dishes that you usually order when eating in Carrollton. You can also get your own bowl of rice or noodles. There is also a soup stationed by the rice cooker. Julie was attentive and came to change our grill when we needed a new one. She made sure that our needs were met (there's a light switch that you turn on and the waitress comes over). But if youre being adventurous you can always ask for half an order; or 1/4th of an order of the menu meat's just to try and if you don't like it your not wasting. There is a buffet other meats and banchan's for the Korean BBQ. I would make sure that you are bringing people who wouldn't eat from the "basic" side of the buffet. Its not that it's bad but if you're going to pay $25 for Sally to eat fried rice and sweet and sour chicken, I would start rethinking that friendship. It exceeded my expectations. There was definitely more variety to choose from and nothing really disappointed me other than the dry ass chicken. But overall extremely satisfying experience. I thought it was like a hookah lounge with the blue lights. The environment was very subtle in the sense it was not super loud. This place is pretty hip and groovy when you walk in. Music level is just right. The food is an all you can eat buffet. Your meat you grab from the buffet or you can pick additional meats off the menu that are not on the buffet. Then you bring the meat to your table and cook it yourself. Some of the meats are traditionally seasoned with Korean spices and some are just plain meats. They have fried rice, steamed white rice, and another seasoned rice. They have kimchi of course and some great tasting salad. The restrooms are very clean. Make sure you grab what you can eat and not let your eyes deceive your stomach because if you don't eat what you grab they will charge you an extra $20 to your bill. The meat and Menu items, you cook on the small grill built into every table. It is easy, trust me. My favorite is the menu item-short ribs, and the spicy pork bulgolgi. Oh my goodness! There is good Korean BBQ in TX??? I thought that was a Cali thing. Well, I'm definitely learning something new every day. For a moment, I had a flashback of being in SoCal for AYCE as I walked in. This place had a self-serve station to get side dishes, chicken, beef/pork bulgogi, pork belly, and many more. Eat till your heart is content. I recommend ordering from the menu because that is where all the quality meats are waiting to be devoured. My favorite was the pineapple galbi steak, which was marinated prime ribeye - very tender, juicy, and flavorful. I enjoyed the sliced pineapple to balance out all the protein that was on the plate. My second favorite on the menu was the chadolbagi, the thinly sliced beef brisket - fresh and well marinated. There was an area to get your meat dipping sauce. Remember to add the sesame oil with the salt & pepper to enhance the experience. The grill plate was not gas powered, so it was not as hot as other Korean places. Thus, I would not anticipate the sizzling of the fat dripping on the grill. Yet the temperature of the grill was set just right to cook all the meat so they were not overcooked or burnt to maintain the tenderness. It was perfect to render out fat from the pork belly, giving that crispy bacon texture - yum! Service was very fast. Our server was Ryan, who did a phenomenal job. When we ordered, the dishes were brought out within 30 secs to 1 minute. They cleared the dirty plates promptly, and changed the grill very often, keeping a clean dining environment. I went on a Saturday around 6pm, and it was not packed at all. The crowd started coming in around 8pm. I would highly recommend coming here for your dose of protein. $14.99 per person for lunch, and $19.99 for dinner. Kids that are up to four years of age eat free.
