My 10yo son was craving Korean food for dinner on our extra stay in Orlando after our cruise and found Bon Chon near our hotel. I am not sure why they made the lighting in the restaurant so dark as it was hard to read the menu. I saw some other customers using their phone flashlight to read the menu. Lighting in the restaurant was poor, so my pictures came out darker. Forgot to turn flash on. We were seated right away with 2 tables available and, luckily, beat traffic that came after. The waitress provided us with the menu and took our drink orders right away. Water and drinks came fast, but food took a while. 1. Edamame, chicken sliders, and takoyaki came out in about 30 mins at once. -chicken sliders: The chicken was moist and paired well with the pickled veggies. However, the bun was a little too toasted and dry. -takoyaki: came out over cooked and slightly burnt, and there was no drizzled sauce on it. Tasted very dry. 2. Fried chicken, half & half flavors: very crispy and flavorful. Meat was not dry despite it being super crispy. 3. Japchae: Came out last when we were halfway done with our chicken. The flavor is there, but the noodles were overcooked and broken. Food took too long to come out so we did not bother to ask them to remake the takoyaki as who knows how much longer we'll have to wait as restaurant was super busy by the time our food came out. We were picking some family up from the airport and decided to swing in here for a bite while waiting. We ordered the sliders, octopus, pork bun, fried chicken (Korean and sweet and spicy), and bulgogi. The appetizers were for the weary travelers, so we got those to go. We ate the chicken and bulgogi in the restaurant. It was nice and clean with a cute layout. Not a lot of people were in the building. It was nice if a bit dark. But I think they were perhaps going for romantic. Our waiter was great, attentive, and quick with good advice. Kept our drinks full, and brought us a tea to go. The fried chicken was outstanding. Crunchy and tasty. Korean bbq sauce was our favorite. But the best combination we thought was chicken made with the spicy sauce, and then dipped in the Korean bbq. Bulgogi was my favorite. Each bite was slightly different. Hints of coffee and other seasonings. It was quite good. The meat was well cooked and to the right temperature. my family of 7 had researched Bon Chon and were so excited to try it. I looked up the menu and they didn't offer anything gluten free and I wanted everybody else to enjoy it. so we landed in Orlando and headed straight there. I walked the strip and got some wings from Longhorn and took them in the restaurant where my family was sitting and had ordered. The moment I opened my food I had staff tell me that they don't allow outside food. I explained that they didn't offer anything I could eat and they didn't care. I proceeded to eat my food. A manager then came and told me that I couldn't eat my food. i continued to eat. I was respectful to staff but determined to be treated equally under ADA food accommodations. A third staff came and told me I could not have my food. I was being harassed during my whole meal. They threatened to call the police on me. They are not a family restaurant as if I needed to bring in food for kids or a baby they would not allow it. Be aware of your rights! read more

If I could give this a -negative 0 I would. We got here just wanting to spend less than 45 mins in this sitdown restaurant. We waited for about 35-40 mins for our order to come out. I'm not sure how much longer we would have waited for if not asking someone how much longer. The chicken is huge and I mean turkey leg huge. The other locations in PA and NY don't serve huge chicken like this. You start to lose the flavor when it's this big. After we got our food the lady (must of been a manager or shift leader) asked us what was wrong. I explained to her that it should have not taken this long for food to come out and it should have not been us asking how long it would take . If you are a sit down restaurant then the waitress could have explained or informed us. I told the lady we had to catch our flight and we were not planning on sitting here this long to wait for food. For now, this is my go to place for Korean Fried Chicken. Lol mostly because it's currently the only Korean fried chicken in Orlando. They close quite early too so keep an eye on their hours! Last weekend, we stopped by Bonchon on our way to the airport. It's located close by, so it made for an easy stop before boarding our flight. I had heard great things about the chicken wings, and they did not disappoint. We walked in for an early dinner around 4. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server was great throughout our visit. We looked over the menu and decided to go with a small chicken wing order with half and half sauce. Me girlfriend wanted the bibimbap, and we also started with an order of the pork buns. The food came out fairly quickly and looked good. The pork buns came out first. The texture of the bun, slaw, and pork belly were quite nice. The flavor was great as well. Our main meals came out quickly after. The bibimbap and the wings looked tasty. The chicken wings had a nice glaze on them while still maintaining that hard crust on the exterior. Texture and flavor were great. Some of the best KFC I have had. The bibimbap was pretty standard. We were driving around looking for a new place to try and stumbled on Bonchon by the MCO airport. We were seated relatively quickly and our server was nice. The floor was a little sticky but maybe that was just the day I went. We tried the loaded bulgogi fries which were amazing!! I would go here just for the fries. They had an umami flavor, they were cheesy, and just overall a really good menu item. I ordered these chicken sliders which kind of had a sweet and spicy flavor, I'd give it a 8/10, they were good but nothing show stopping. I really liked the addition of the radishes with the wings. For me, the wings were a little salty, due to the sauce which kind of overpowered the wings, so personally I'd give it a 6.5/10. The Rundown: Korean chain restaurant that offers satisfyingly crunchy wings. The Review: after years of seeing this chain around I finally went. Something to note is the restaurant (at least based on past experiences seen here) is typically understaffed and it was no different thus visit. I do not fault them for it but just have this in mind before going in case you're in a rush! I'm not the most versed in Korean wings and after seeing the recommends I went for it. First impression was: this place is larger than I expected. I definitely was expecting a sort of quick style seating but it has full service restaurant vibes which was a pleasant surprise. Floor was a bit oddly sticky but my shoes didn't fall apart so I guess it wasn't too bad! I straight away ordered the wings - they were out of strips so I went boneless. A couple things to note: the drum sticks you will find significantly higher price than the wings. It's because they are actually quite large! I was expecting the standard sizes you'd find at wing places like BWs or Gator's but these were probably 3x the size. The boneless wings themselves I was thinking would be small (which was why I wanted to try strips). They were a reasonable size and I was satisfied. I recommend going half and half with pickled radish for a more (classic?) experience. The wings have a phenomenal crunch and the radish helped offset any spice concerns (I've been away from spice and it shows ha but this was a good heat and not uncomfortable fortunately. But still a heat nonetheless). Overall, it was a good experience and I'd probably go again. Main detractors were the pricing felt a bit on the higher side and the sticky floor kind of weirded me out. But the service was very friendly despite the delays! Oh and a final tip- if you take wings home and heat them up don't do it too long. Our server Aliyah made us aware that she's all alone serving customers and apologized at once for that. That's good to know and a good gesture so we would not expect much. This is the second time my husband and I ate at BonChon and it was absolutely delicious yet again! Our server was friendly, got our order correct, and checked up on us just the right amount. There is indoor and outdoor seating. My husband and I split half and half dumplings and fried wings as well as seasoned fries. My partner got the wing and drumstick combo and the same sauce and fries. The sauce was supposed to be sweet and spicy. As I was visiting some family down in Orlando, they asked if I wanted to try something new. They introduced me to the new KFC craze. No, not Kentucky Fried Chicken, but Korean fried chicken. Who knew there was such a thing? We ordered the family meal to share that comes with 12 wings, 6 drumsticks, 2 sides, and rice. The chicken is fried twice and comes in 3 flavors - Spicy, Sweet, and Soy Garlic. Sides include slaw, fried rice, Daikon, and fries that seem out of place. The Spicy offers a peppery punch and the heat is medium. The sweet tastes akin to maple syrup. The soy garlic was the flavor I liked slightly more than the other two. Surprisingly, it is not overwhelmingly soy or garlic. The fried rice was the side I enjoyed the most. The slaw was surprisingly more like a southern style of slaw made with mayo and some sweetness. My uncle ordered Bulgogi, which is a Korean style beef dish. I am not familiar enough with it but it was similar to beef tips with peppers and onions with an Asian flair. I cannot stress how much I enjoy the food here. This is my third visit and I cant get enough. My favorite things are the wings and the bulgogi fried rice. The fried chicken is the highlight here. It's twice fried with light breading and a soy garlic sauce that gives it a sweet bite. Light and fresh, and the fried rice also carries a fresh taste that pairs perfectly with the wings. Based on when you come, the wait can be longer. The first and third time I came I waited around 40 minutes on a weekend for the food due to high volume (a sign of an excellent place) and my second trip was done on off hours so the wait was only 20 minutes max. I don't think the wait hinders the experience. There's televisions abound and lots of appetizers to stave you off until the main course. The food quality is always the same and I will continue to come here and tout a lot how great the food is here. A popular Korean restaurant chain, Bonchon serves some classic Korean dishes in addition to a few items unique to them. These classic dishes, like bibimbap and bugolgi seemed pretty solid according to my friends who ordered them. I went for their tacos, which tasted great. The chain is apparently known for their fried chicken which can be ordered with a spicy or a soy garlic dressing. The tacos were too tempting so I ended up not trying it. But I've been told the fried chicken is also pretty good. The interior of the restaurant was a little on the small side so I imagine it can get quite full real fast. The food was really good but the dining room leaves a lot to be desired and the overall experience felt like I was eating at a closed restaurant. The decor is nice but the cement floors make everything loud from the screeches of children, the metal chairs scraping, and the phone ringing that nobody seemed interested in answering. Half the space was wasted with a huge area for the bar that wasn't really a bar that didn't seem made to invite sitting there. My biggest issue was when I walked in there was literally no staff there to greet you. I thought it would be an order at the counter and then be seated but it was full service so I had to wait and stare at the walls until someone finally came out of the kitchen and greeted me. My waitress was quite pleasant but as I waited for my food, I couldn't help but notice 3 different groups of people walking in, staring around, and then after not seeing anyone or at the very least a MENU posted inside the door, they turned around and left. Not sure why the staff were always in the kitchen. The only time I saw them was when they came out to bring my order.
