I was craving Bon Chon a few weeks ago. I ordered 4 hours ahead for a scheduled pickup and when I got there, it wasn't ready. The order was canceled and was refunded. Skip a couple weeks later and I order again. The craving is unreal. I finally got my wings on time. When I opened the box, I was shocked to see that the chicken wings looked like it participated in a body building competition. They used to use real chicken wings. The wings used to be crispy, tender, juicy, and TASTY. Now, they are serving cheap chicken on steroids that taste like its going to hurt while using the toilet. Trust me, it hurt. Bon Chon used to be the best K fried chicken out there. I would rave about it to coworkers, friends, and family. I am extremely disappointed in the diminished quality of their chicken. I tried the soy garlic sauce wings, and they were really tasty! But, the service was a bit off. Maybe they're short-staffed because it took 40 minutes to get our food, when there were only two customers at the restaurant. The server forgot silverware, didn't refill our drinks, weren't attentive, and their attitude wasn't the best. Despite that, I gave them another shot and ordered carryout. When I called, they said to order online. I used Uber Eats, but got a random cancellation message right before picking up. Overall, the food is good, but the service might keep you from going back. My boss brought us here for a business lunch and the wings were crispy, fresh, and delicious! The seasoned fries were crispy and delicious too! I brought my wife and son here and now it's one of our favorite places to eat. My son loves the wings and fries and my wife loves the Bibimbap and Takoyaki. I love Korean food, and so when we passed by this restaurant, we had to turn around and try it! As soon as we walked in I noticed how uncomfortably cold it is inside. I don't usually get cold, and this place was too cold for comfort. Our host sat us to our seat immediately and our waiter took our drink order. Unfortunately they did not have any hot tea to warm me up. The menu was simple and so my husband ordered bibimpap and I ordered their chicken wings with soy sauce glaze. There was only two sauces to pick for your chicken wings/legs. Our food didn't take that long and I had to give them points for that. Our appetizer (beef bulgogi taco) came in less than 10 minutes, and it was on the drier side, but still edible. I enjoyed my chicken wings which was savory and sweet at the same time. I did order a bowl of rice and a side of pickled radish to compliment the wings. My husband's bibimpap was another different story. It had the most random veggies which we usually don't mind. But this one had very salty mushrooms and the meat was less savory and was lacking any kind of seasoning. So we both ended up just eating the chicken wings and sadly barely touched the bowl. After our meal, we ordered theirs special twisted sugar donut with the sweet cream sauce. And that saved our tastebuds. The place was not crowded so our party of 6 was seated right away. We ordered our drinks and our waiter quickly brought them out. Everyone knows that Bonchon is known for their amazing wings. I love a good chicken wing and this place is one of my favorite places when it comes to wings. The flavors include spicy and soy garlic. I always order the soy garlic and it never disappoints. If you like a super crispy chicken wing with a savory flavor then you need to try this place. Forget the chicken strips and drumsticks and go for the wings! If you're not in the mood for wings, the menu offers a variety of Asian inspired dishes which taste just as great. As for service, our waiter may have had an off day. He took all our orders by memory which may have been the issue. We started with the soy garlic potstickers which came out half spicy & half soy garlic. Then the waiter came back and apologized for not having coleslaw for sides when we ordered pickled radish not coleslaw. Then one order was suppose to be all soy wings but again came out half soy & half spicy. By this point, I really thought I was in the Twilight Zone. The waiter was very apologetic and rectified his mistakes. He let us keep the spicy wings which were very tasty. I personally enjoyed their seasoned fries and mixed them with their mayo and ketchup haha. Other than that, I am a personal fan of their soy garlic wings! For me, the spicy wings were way too spicy but my tolerance is pretty low haha. I think the only downside we had experienced was waiting 30 minutes to receive our food. I do know that they double fry their wings so I could understand that but 30 minutes felt a bit too long. By the time we had received our food, we were starving haha. We missed Bon Chon so much since moving away from the DMV area.. We live in Tampa and not Orlando so getting here was a bit of planning, but so glad we finally did. A little side note for everyone -- Korean Fried Chicken (heretofore known as the KFC) takes a while to cook, especially Bon Chon style. In comparison to the Ellicott City location; however, I didn't think this venue prepared theirs too slow. There was a decent amount of lunch crowd and the service was pretty good. We got 10 soy garlic chicken strips and 20 medium wings (10 spicy + 10 sy). Also added ttuk bok ki and additional bowls of rice. I was slightly disappointed the rice was Jasmine rice, not sticky rice. And inside was WAY too cold. That's where the 1 star got deducted. Once the food arrived though, it was heavenly. The crispy layer of soy garlic goodness and tender juicy chicken underneath was all anyone could ask for. TTuk bok Ki was prepared decently too. Bon Chon style TBK always has a layer of melted mozarella cheese and I actually find that enjoyable. Goes well with the chicken. We are also ready to try the one in Waterford Lakes since that one is closer to my in-law's whom we visit rather frequently. read more

After years (not exaggerating) of trying to hit up Bonchon in Manhattan, I finally had the opportunity to try their Korean fried chicken in Orlando. Korean Fried Chicken has become super popular the past few years and I can't hate anyone for trying to one up Bonchon. This location of Bonchon is located pretty close to the MCO airport, which is convenient if you're coming from or going toward the airport. It was getting late but we were still wanting to grab some food before the end of the night. My sister and I ordered the special: 20 wings and 2 sides for $25. Not a bad deal, because that is definitely a ton of food, especially since my sister eats pretty light. We decided to get two flavors (half and half), the soy garlic and the spicy, to get a taste of both. I found the flavors to be pretty subtle, although the spicy was pretty spicy. The edamame was a bit salty but I'm not saying I didn't like it! Definitely had me reaching me for my water a few times, though. We also ordered some fries which were pretty crispy and delicious. Overall, Bonchon isn't bad. I can't say it's the best Korean fried chicken I've ever had, but I see how they've gotten so popular and expanded as much as they have. read more

My family and I went to Orlando this weekend along with a couple of familes, a total of 12 people. Bonchon was one of the choices and was within the vicinity, so we decided to go there. I ordered the following: - Potstickers (Pork: Soy Garlic flavor) - Edamame - Shrimp Shumai - Fried Egg Udon Noodle Soup - Fried Chicken Wings (10 pc Spicy and 10 pc Soy Garlic) The food was cooked and came out in reasonable time. My taste impressions: The Fried Chicken Wings, both were fried to perfection. The Spicy wings had a pretty good spice and kick to it. For me, it was a "tolerable" spice because the wings itself had a low mixture of sweetness to it, a perfect mixture. The Soy Garlic was a tasty and it is a good option to order if you are not a Spice Junkie like me. The Fried Egg Udon Noodle soup was a hot tasty soup if you are a soup lover. The soup is served on a very hot clay bowl. The bowl was simmering and sizzling when brought to the table. It stayed hot the whole time, so I suggest not rushing into your first slurp because it is very hot. The Soy Garlic Potstickers (fried option) were so flavorful and yummy. It was a nice light treat. I could have eaten 3 more orders of these. Very tasty. The Edamames and Shrimp Shumai tasted just like about any that I have tasted and tried before. It was so-so. Visiting Orlando, we had to try the Bonchon. We (party of 14) walked in on a Monday afternoon and they weren't busy. Seated immediately. It's June and very warm. The inside of the restaurant is too cold with their air conditioning on. They should turn the air conditioner down a bit. You can see the condensation build up on the glass. The service was good. We received our food in a timely. The food was like the Bonchon in California. Still very good. The only thing is we couldn't get 25% of the chicken in spicy and 75% in soy ginger. In Sacramento CA, we're able to do that. Here it has to be 50/50. We also had the Bulgogi Fried Rice. It could use a bit more Bulgogi. It was hard to tell it was a Bulgogi Fried Rice. Same for the Kimchi Fried Rice. Not enough Kimchi that you can't taste it. Also here they have Red Horse and San Miguel Beer. The restaurant is near the Orlando Airport. We stopped here just outside of MCO airport for a quick bite. Food was good, but I was surprised that the restaurant wasn't crowded. The staff is friendly with each other but it might take them a bit to notice you even though you've been sitting there a while. The food itself is consisted of wings - divided into 3 sections, japchae, tteokbokki, katsu, fries and small bites. I had the drumsticks order with soy garlic mixed sauce. The chicken pieces were very small. It's a bit overpriced for what you get. The wings themselves are fried then sauced and the flavor of the sauce is fantastic. It comes with a side and I got the Cole slaw. It was a nice refreshing compliment to the chicken. Though heavy in mayo. The daikon side is also very good. Tried this for the first time today. I got the Korean fried chicken tenders. It's thin straps without breading and good flavor. I had the soy and the spicy. Both are good. But there are a lot of places to get fried chicken. I was expecting something every different. While it's good, it's nothing special. My fiance got the bibimbap with seafood. She said the rice and seafood were bland and needed more sauce or seasoning. I want to try it again to explore more of the menu. For now, it's on my good but not great list. read more

My son tried Bonchon when he was visiting his fiancé in the Washington DC area and he returned home raving about Korean fried chicken. On a recent trip to WDW we wanted to escape the Disney bubble and his fiancé found a Bonchon location in Orlando. My son was so pumped. We had to brave the wicked I-4 traffic to get to it but it was worth it. We placed the order on line for curbside pickup but, as is the case in 50% of curbside orders, we had to go inside to get it as they were short handed. We ordered Bulgogi tacos as an appetizer (so yummy). We got the family meal so we had lots of chicken, fried rice, and pickled radishes. The chicken is crunchy and saucy, don't know how they do it. My mom and I have been here a few times and we usually like to order the Soy Garlic Wings..Their wings are decent in size and the flavor is really good. Service was fair but we did wait over an hour just for rice and wings. Definitely a convenient spot while on the way to the airport in case you need to stop and eat before a flight. There is a Bonchon!!! The chicken here is soooo gooooood. Super crispy and packed full of saucy flavor. I eat tons of spicy food daily, but their spicy chicken is actually too spicy for me. My eyes start crying. So I prefer to eat their sweet soy garlic sauce on either their wings or drumsticks. It's all delicious and pairs well with their white radish side dish. Seriously, I just eat chicken here and nothing else. I drive from Tampa Bay to eat at Bonchon. I would have given a 5 but I have some things to address. When ordering the delicious chicken the Soy garlic and spicy Korean bbq both had 1 , So being that I love spicy I ordered Soicy Korean bbq. It was extremely HOT, so the menu needs to be altered to indicate at least 3 that way customers are aware that it is really hot. Also, I think you all should add a kids menu that'll be helpful and more family oriented. The spicy sliders were just way too hot for my kid. I know BonChon well because I lived in Manhattan, one block away from what is known there as Korea-town (W 32nd St). The BonChon in Orlando was authentic to everything I remember from NYC. Korean Fried Chicken is double - fried, which makes it extra crispy. I get the boneless wings: half soy and garlic, half spicy. The spicy are almost *too* spicy for my palate, but I like the contrast. The pickled radish that comes with them is a cold and tangy relief from the spice. Although I have been to Seoul, South Korea on a business trip, I can't speak to the Korean authenticity. However, I can say without a doubt the Orlando location is as good as I had in Korea-town in NYC. read more
