I visited Bonchon Springfield for lunch on Tuesday and took advantage of their $1 wings special on Mondays and Tuesdays. I ordered the wings and a MoPo corndog. The staff was friendly and the food came out quickly. The ambiance is casual with TVs and concrete floors. The wings were tasty and crispy. I was disappointed that the MoPo corndog did not have a hot dog inside, but that was my fault for not reading the description. Bonchon diehard here. I have never minded paying extra for bonchon cause they're always healthy sized wings and the food has always been great quality. Today was an exception to the usual experience. Edamame were cooked to mush, tteokbokki (should be firm and spongey) was the consistency of overcooked spaghetti, and the smallest saddest wings I've ever seen in my life- I'm not exaggerating when I say I had three wings half the size of what I'd expect from Buffalo Wild Wings. This location is in need of some serious quality control. In the future I'd much rather drive a little further to another location than me disappointed like this again. We see the same servers time after time (and cook staff) so it seems they have a good team. Service is teamwork based-Always very attentive. It's a casual place with music and sports on theTV. It's called BonChon chicken. My opinion I'd say stick with the chicken and radish. We've tried some of the "newer" trendy items and we thought it wasn't worth the money or how we thought it would be. My first time visiting this Bonchon location took place on a rainy early Tuesday evening where I was too tired to cook dinner for myself. My husband and I decided to check this place out, and learned they have a dine in special on Mondays and Tuesdays for $1 wings. The limit for the special is 15 wings per person. We each ordered our desired wings, and tried the spicy, Korean bbq, and Yangnyeom. My preference was for the to spicy. The Korean bbq was sweeter than I liked and had a strong orange flavor. The Yangnyeom reminded me of the taste of sesame chicken. The staff was very pleasant and fast. One of the wings we received was inedible bc the bone had shattered all over the inside. When we told the manager it looked unappetizing, he offered to replace or remove the charge for that wing from our check, which we greatly appreciated. Inside is clean and spacious plenty of seating. I would definitely return when I have a Korean chicken wing fix in the future. read more

My family and I love bonchon's food. I used to live in Woodbridge and used to go to the one there. They closed it permanently a couple of years a go during the pandemic. We were sooo heartbroken. We are still heartbroken about it. We used to order almost every Saturday night after church and eat together as a family. We love the spiciness of the chicken and the fried rice was the best. Ever since then I have been on a hunt for another bonchon. I have tried Richmond one and this one but have realized the food taste different at all these places. My mom and I decided to come here after hanging out at the Springfield mall. The place is nice and clean. We sat down right away, it was just us and two other people so it wasn't that busy. Our server got our order wrong, so we had to wait about 20 mins for our chicken. My mom was more excited about the house chicken fried rice, she was thinking it would be just like the one she's had before at the closed location but it was different. She gave it 1/5. I had been meaning to try Bonchon for the longest time and was so happy I did! There is something about this chicken that is absoutely addicting and leaves me craving more each time. My friend and I split the the boneless chicken with half spicy and half soy garlic flavoring. All chicken was phenomenal - the twice fried chicken packed such a great crunch! Not to mention, the sauces on the chicken are coated perfectly. They have got their recipe down! We also got the Parmesan fries which paired well with the chicken. The only downside to these menu items is that they are on the pricey side. However, I think it is well worth the splurge once in awhile. The service was great and the ambiance is nice and clean. I came in here recently for a late lunch/early dinner. I had never had Korean barbecue chicken before, so this place grabbed my curiosity. I ordered ten boneless pieces of barbecue chicken ($15.49), takoyaki ($8.99), and a Pepsi ($2.99). Takoyaki is similar to hushpuppies, but sweeter (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takoyaki). The chicken was 15 or 16 pieces instead of ten. I would say the taste was intermediate between General Tso's chicken and Southern American barbecue chicken. The chicken had a slight taste of Chinese sweet and sour or duck sauce, but the barbecue taste prevailed. I don't know how else to describe it. If you have never had Korean food before, this place is a good introduction. The decor was austere and Asian modern. The staff was friendly, and the service was reasonable quick. The chicken alone is worth coming back for, but another thing I really liked was that they offer cheesy Tteok-bokki, which is a whole other level of flavor compared to regular style. We got the Large half spicy half soy garlic wings... if you plan on getting spicy, CAUTION!!! It's definitely got a kick!!! I prefer the soy garlic but I typically end up getting half and half to mix it up. ALSO, if you haven't tried taking a bite of the wings WITH the radish... you are missing out!!! Service - this is my second time at this location and the staff here are extremely friendly and efficient. Did their jobs perfectly. Location - 5/5, the place is not big but it's got a pretty cozy feeling to it. Good music choice and everything seems very clean and well kept - especially the bathrooms (which usually says a lot about a restaurant). They've also got a nice little bar. This was our first Bonchon experience. The food was good, especially the chicken, but the service left a lot to be desired. Though they were not busy, it took at least 10 minutes for a server to greet us and take our orders, and she did not come back to refill waters without us tracking her down to ask. I originally came to the area to get jersey mikes but saw that they were closed. I went on Apple Maps to search for food places in close proximity and surprisingly, this was the only restaurant with great reviews. I walked over to placed an order in-store and was immediately greeted with a warm welcome and assistance. Hostess was very knowledgeable about the menu items and waited patiently as I bounced back and forth between what I wanted to order. The restaurant was very clean and had an open floor plan that allowed easy walk-ability. I went on a weekday night and the crowd was more enjoyable for me (a person who enjoys more of a quiet space to savor my food, and room to eat without feeling like others were on top of me). Came here for a low-key birthday meal - great as always! Our waiter was friendly and attentive and the place wasn't too crowded. We ordered some tteokbokki, fries, and bulgogi fried rice. Good flavors and portions across the board and it all came out quickly. We also tried the new Korean BBQ flavored chicken strips - they were a similar vibe to the soy garlic, maybe a little sweeter. I would recommend giving it a try, I believe it is limited time only. The strips had a little less meat than I remember, but that could probably be resolved by ordering the wings instead. This is by far one of the worst Bonchons I've ever been to My food was not good at all, when I complained, he laughed and said the that the sauce that I ordered ran out and that they're trying a new one I asked him why wasn't I aware of this and he struck his shoulders, I asked to get a refund and he said that they cannot do a refund because of a new policy. I asked him if I can speak to a manager and he said there is no Manager available and that there is nothing that he can do along with laughing. The taste in Springfield is great, reminds me the first Bonchon location in Annnadale. I gave only 3 stars because most of the wings are soft, not crunchy at all as it is supposed to.
