Finally! The Bon Chon in Springfield area opened up.. Went here with my wife and kid to try this place out and was very pleased. I came here for the chicken which was good as per usual - crunchy and very flavorful. My wife ordered the chicken tacos which she enjoyed and we got takoyaki as an appetizer. Our server EJ was very kind and courteous and brought us everything we needed which really elevated our experience eating here. Ordered via GrubHub. The chicken katsu, mandu, and kimchi tasted exactly as I had in Korea. Kimchi wasn't to my liking (sweeter than spicy) but was no different than any restaurant in Seoul. For the potstickers I select the spicy sauce. Hard to see in the pictures, or in person, but they are fried with the spicy sauce. It was certainly spicier than I'd have liked. Had similar in Korea in a few restaurants and the spicy was there for flavor, these were nearing Buldak level of spicy. Good flavor but couldn't finish them. Katsu was as good as you can get, however it did not come with the slaw that was listed on the menu. The fries are where I had an issue. Granted they were delivered so texture aside, there was no flavor. For $9.14 it's a hard pass for any future orders. Fries, mandu, katsu, and kimchi came out to ~$50 via GrubHub. For the type of food very over priced but alright for once in a while and to split amongst 2 people maybe. read more

I've always loved Bon Chon for years. The chicken is solid here, but the service is hostile. There is a waitress who works here, I think she's Filipino, but she gave me an attitude for just existing as a customer. I came in the restaurant and she seemed annoyed that we wanted to eat there. I don't know who pissed her off or what happened before we came, but don't take it out on people who have done nothing to you. I understand there are difficult customers who may ruin your day, but if you can't control your temper, don't be a server. There are retail jobs where you can stock things in the back. You won't have to deal with any people. Just trying to help you find peace here! Anyways, I love Bon Chon, but I rather go to the Annandale location now. read more

I have to say, I've ordered food from this location before and it wasn't always the best. Last night, however, I placed an order through DoorDash close to closing time so my expectations weren't high as I was fully expecting to be served old, cold food. To my surprise, our food was so fresh and delicious. We got 8 piece strips combo, half spicy half soy garlic with pickled radish and japchae. The chicken was great but the Japchae was amazing! It's usually the other way around as they are mostly known for their fried chicken but I highly recommend trying their other entree's as well. We've also tried their fried rice in the past which is also super good. read more

Coming from Bonchons in California, the strips are way smaller than what I was used to, however still tasted good. I also think they lowered their portion sizes- I remember eating at Bonchon a few months ago and an order of small strips used to be 10, however now it's 8 for the same price. I have been enjoying Korean food for a LONG time. I love food and enjoy good food. I ordered the bibimbap...was asked what kind I wanted. I said "regular bibimbap" Apparently regular at this restaurant that is just vegetables no beef nada. And on top of that I asked for an extra sauce pack and was told it would be $1. My first time and last time at this place. I want authentic Korean not some fancy schmancy nickel and dime you for everything. There was no kimchi, nada. Just basic all for $15! Bad BonChon. Unsanitary. We love BonChon but this one is unfortunately terrible. So far, Arlington is the best. The Springfield location initially earned about 3/5 for me due to their poor timing estimation and their overall tendency to seem confused. We've been here twice and the first time they couldn't find the order. We were understanding as they had just opened a few weeks prior, but it was still alarming they lost our order. Tonight, we had another undesirable encounter when placing the order. All other BonChon locations I've been to always tell me the specific time my wings will be ready because of the cooking timing and process. I called in my order at 6:40p and this location told me they were busy and that it would take over an hour to get the food. Fine. It's NYE, so we figured they were busy and we're used to waiting for our orders. But I tried to clarify what time to come and the guy said "in an hour" so I confirmed "7:40?" and he hung up. It sounded really loud in the background of the store, so it was hard to communicate. When we arrived an hour later, our bag of food was sitting unattended at the front desk. The guy who rang us up said it's been sitting there for 10+minutes, which is irritating as we were told initially that it would be over an hour. As expected, the food was lukewarm and no longer crunchy. We tried to tolerate their service and discombobulated practices, but we draw a firm line with safety and sanitation. One wing had a curly black hair shellacked to it. It was so off putting and unsanitary that we couldn't continue with our meal which resulted in our money and food being wasted. Such a disappointing experience. We will never return to this location. We hope they can improve for other customers. read more

It's my first time ordering from this location. The host was very nice, very quick to take my order. The restaurant wasn't too busy at all. I would've loved to sit in and eat if I had the chance. The issue was the food itself. The chicken was entirely burnt, I didn't notice until I had gotten back home. It smelled horrible, I would've wanted a refund immediately. Finally, the BonChon in Springfield has opened after many months of eager anticipation! I placed an online dinner order on opening day expecting the worst but I was pleasantly surprised when I got a text message saying my order was ready to be picked up 6 minutes earlier than predicted by the online ordering portal. The staff members were very nice and everything seemed very organized. Online ordering was very easy and straightforward, and I appreciated getting status updates on my order, such as a confirmation that the restaurant had received and acknowledged my order and when my order was ready to be picked up. The food was excellent - the quality of BonChon that I expect! The chicken was tender and juicy, and the outside was sauced (but not too saucy), spicy, and crispy. I will be back! read more
