Tuna Avocado

Good sized boxed sushi for $14/roll. I liked the separate packing of the soy sauce, ginger and wasabi.

Wagyu Handroll

Very good! Bondi has been hit or miss in the past but this time it was great! The hand roll deal is well worth it.

Seafoam

Curt and the staff were very welcoming. service is so fast. The ambiance is bright and clean (wrap around counter but also a standalone table for two in the window). I thought all of the rolls I tasted were delicious and so affordable (I went during happy hour) and I also got the Seafoam drink and it was delicious. Highly recommend.

Happy Hour menu. If you can't read it, just come by!

I love this place! Happy Hour is from 3-6 Monday through Friday. When I've skipped lunch at the office and am heading home and it's too early for dinner, this is the perfect place to stop at 3 or 4 to get delicious wine and sushi. The wine is a steal at $5/glass (shhh). The lobster rolls are amazing; so are the sticky rice salmon and yellowtail. Served with hot towels and plenty of wasabi and ginger. Sandra and Curtis are wonderful, caring hosts. This is the place we all dream about -- good food, affordable pricing, lovely hosts. I bet they do a great private party too. Place is small, but who cares? Food, service and price are what it's all about. Go there now. You'll be glad you did.

Sesame Seaweed Salad
Sydney D.

Unfortunately this order was lackluster. The seaweed salad had leaves that were too big and the flavor was off. The sushi was better than the salad but not by much. I appreciated that we had to wait 5-10 minutes for our order since it indicated the sushi was being prepared/was fresh but that was really the only plus.

Ordered that Crème Brûlée as soon as the man sitting next to me raved about it in detail. And it was delicious!! Very popular.

I happen to be right by BONDI, on Wednesday, Oct 18, 2023, and needed to eat before going to a meeting nearby, so I thought okay, this is meant to be, because I had passed by BONDI a few times; I was curious about it, and it looked a tad mysterious with very nice low light inside. I checked out a few reviews on YELP, And so, I went in, and...I FELT LIKE I WON A PRIZE!!! BECAUSE...it was Happy Hour, and that meant $5 HANDROLLS!!! I'm not really a drinker, so the food was my focus. LOL I enjoyed the handrolls, see my photos please, and I even ordered a yummy dessert -the Crème Brûlée, which was delicious and delightful. I had sat at the sushi bar, which is square in shape, and there are several tables along a few of the sides. I was waiting to write my review because I wanted to return to BONDI, and have an item from the regular menu. But, alas, it is now early December and I do plan to return to BONDI, during Happy Hour, for more yummy handrolls, AND I also want to try the Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, because I love that dish, and the person sitting near me at the sushi bar was enjoying that dish. As a matter of fact, it was her "usual". So, I must try that dish. I will update once I return to BONDI. But, I did not want to hold off on writing this review any longer and so, here it is...and there will be more to come soon. :) I can tell you, THE SERVICE WAS VERY NICE, with a welcoming and professional demeanor. The manager -I believe his name is Karl-I can't find the BONDI card this minute, and that's where I wrote his name, was very nice, and he made sure every patron was being served and enjoying their meal. He clearly was giving 110% to his managerial responsibilities. Kudos to him!! Stay tuned, I shall visit BONDI again, within the next few weeks. But, yes, I would recommend BONDI. And, I enjoyed the calm feeling of the subdued lighting. Because let's face it, as high stress New Yorkers, who doesn't need some of that?! LOL

Seafoam cocktail, spicy tuna and yellowtail crispy rice sushi

Food - fun options, fish v. fresh, tastes amazing. Manager Curt is attentive and on the floor making sure customers are happy! Super kind and welcoming staff! Love watching at the sushi bar. Seafoam cocktail - delicious. Cool ambiance. Great happy hour!

Crispy rice
Freddyc M.

The happy hour is a really good deal, they have delicious crispy rice and hand rolls and sake and cocktails. And it's not crowded at all on the weekdays during that time.

This is hands down one of the best sushi experiences I've had in New York. The service was impeccable and the staff was knowledgeable about the menu and recommended their favorites which are now mine! Getting to watch the chef handcraft the rolls and crispy rice was epic. Not only did I enjoy the food, it was also my birthday and they made sure I felt special with a delicious desert and sake! Will definitely be coming back soon!

Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice and Salmon Crispy Rice

I love Bondi Sushi. The food is awesome. The service is incredible and the manager Curtis always makes me feel right at home. You can't get a better deal for their happy hour. I love their rosé wine for five dollars. Highly recommend coming to this place or take out.

The atmosphere here was a bit more lively and crowded compared to the more relaxed vibe of the UWS spot. I enjoyed my meal even more this time around. I started with the beet salad, which was delicious and offered great value given the generous portion size. it featured sliced beets, arugula, goat cheese, and walnuts. I also had my eye on the hijiki soybean salad--which is a bit smaller and reportedly homemade--so I may try that next time, along with the warm mushroom salad which looked very tasty. The edamame was standard but served as a nice starter. For my main rolls, I chose the salmon avocado and the yellowtail scallion. Both were very fresh and definitely worth ordering again. The salmon avocado roll had a nice touch of sesame seeds on the rice, while the yellowtail scallion was prepared with the seaweed on the outside. My boyfriend's sushi entree looked excellent, so I am considering that or the sushi-sashimi combo for my next visit. The entrees provide a substantial amount of food, and I especially appreciate that they allow you to choose which roll comes with your meal.

They share a takeout menu and it's super easy to order--text what you want to the phone number on the website and pickup in ~20 minutes :). You pay on a handheld and they don't ask for tip for takeout. I love this process and truly wish more sushi restaurants in LA adopt the takeout box. The only one I know of is hefty but also $200 each lol, making Sanyuu's $69 omakase and $78 Everything don, not to mention the $30 giant salmon nigiri set, A STEAL! I enjoyed most of the pieces but I will say I don't like their amaebi or uni at all. I'm not sure what kind of uni is used here but it's the type with a very strong mineral flavor & aftertaste that I don't find enjoyable. We're spoiled by easy access to live spot prawns everywhere and fresh SB uni. Despite this, I wouldn't hesitate to come back if I lived in the city.

The slices aren't thin, delicate, and melt-in-your-mouth as one usually gets in a sit down; they are extra thick, and I had to really bite down on some of the pieces. The rice was nicely seasoned and was cooked well + portions are also big to match those thiccccc salmon slices. To be honest, I was getting a little nauseated after 5 pieces, haha~ They were definitely delicious but I'd probably just eat 3 or 4 pieces and share with a friend! It was easy to text the number on the website and coordinate a pickup time, and the staff was friendly when I arrived. The restaurant is a little hard to find as the windows are blinded and the sign is a piece of paper on the door.

The ube tiramisu was free since we wrote a google review for the restaurant. Everything was delicious and the zucchini was surprisingly good as well. The pork was so tender. the ebi tempura were huge, and the mazemen was thankfully not spicy. However, the scallops could've been more tender and we we were all unimpressed with the ube tiramisu. There are many…read morerestaurants with lines that I can't say are worth waiting on, but this restaurant is worth every minute and every ounce of energy left for the wait. I've taken a lot of friends here over the course of 10 years, and without fail, every one of them has walked out mindblown--and why wouldn't they?! The wait times have gotten better over the years (probably because people are waiting for the restaurant next door), but the food and drinks here are still top-notch. Staff is always great, and they all work so efficiently. I am generally a fan of izakayas, but there are very few that offer plates that are designed to be shareable, and this is one of the reasons the food here is so enjoyable in a small group setting. I am obviously biased and think they can do no wrong, but some of my staples that have stood the test of time: Kimchi cream udon, avocado tofu salad, salmon sashimi tacos, and the kani cream croquettes. I was so excited when they opened an outpost in Flushing years ago, but sadly it shuttered during COVID.
