I was craving some good zaru soba (cold soba noodles), so I suggested my friend and I order delivery from here tonight to try it out. Along with the soba noodles, I also got the agedashi tofu, and the pan-fried vegetable gyoza. My friend got the chicken teriyaki. To start, the delivery was super quick and incredibly easy. We ordered through Uber Eats, and within 30 minutes, we received our food. Not only that, everything was packaged perfectly with no spills or anything. It was also all the right temperature. I was starving, so the quick turnaround time was very much appreciated. It's also delivered by store staff, which I find always leads to a smooth experience. The zaru soba noodles were the perfect portion, but knowing me, I'd need more than just noodles to fill myself up. The gyozas were just what I wanted, with a dipping sauce that was the ideal blend of soy and vinegar. It was also my first time trying agedashi tofu. I do wish it had just a little bit more crisp to it, but again, the sauce was good and the preparation was otherwise perfect. In the soba noodles, they include thinly sliced cucumbers, as well as a small, thumb-sized amount of wasabi, which is something to be aware of. I mixed the wasabi right in with the noodles and the sauce, and the flavors complemented eachother perfectly. My orI definitely want to order from here again and try more things! read more

This is for takeout/ delivery only. I'm surprised at the recent negative reviews. Sushi Suki is quite consistent and tasty when it comes to uber eats. I always order special roll combo b which has spicy tuna, salmon avocado, eel cucumber. It's got the perfect balance of crunch from the spicy tuna, fattiness from the salmon avo and umami from the eeli. Their portions are great and the filling to rice ratio is generous. Total comes to $21. Never had anything that wasn't fresh and tasty, and I get their food every couple of months or so. Order also comes with a side miso soup! Got food from here before for delivery and now I went in person. I came here on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm with my boyfriend and enjoyed the simplicity of this small restaurant. We both got lunch specials, him the bento box and myself the 2 rolls for $12. I got the shrimp tempura and spicy tuna. I liked the shrimp tempura, I just thought there were a lot of lettuce in it and the spicy tuna was not really good - was too mushy and didn't really taste too fresh. However, the miso soup and salad that came with the lunch deal was surprisingly so delicious on a fall day! Overall, the food was a great price and the waitress/server/only worker in the restaurant made the experience enjoyable. This used to be my tried and true sushi takeout spot but it's seriously gone down hill in the last two years. The spring rolls used to be the best and a couple years ago they switched the recipe, or some thing, and now they just taste like super cheap, frozen food spring rolls that you could get in the supermarket. Also, they've really skimmed on the fish when you order the tuna sashimi appetizer. The prices went up and the portions went down. They literally give you less than an ounce of fish. It's really dismal. It's sad because it used to be such a great spot and lately it's just so lacking. Also, the service is not great. They often mess up the delivery order and when you call them to ask for them to correct it they're never very apologetic and always kind of annoyed, which is ridiculous. Used to be great. I'm a bit perplexed by the negative comments but also somewhat scared. Sort of glad I didn't see these before ordering takeout last night! We got one of the sushi combo rolls (spicy tuna, eel cucumber and salmon avocado) - it was standard. Also got the Mt. Fuji roll which was fresh and delicious. We ordered pan fried gyoza which left much to be desired. The sushi tasted fresh and did not have any weird smell or over taste. This is a ok sushi restaurant. It is very small but looks and smells clean (very important when getting sushi). I ordered the crab salad appetizer and they had a very interesting take on it. It looked like a scoop of ice cream covered in toasted coconut. It was tasty but not overly flavorful. The tempura flakes (toasted coconut) took away from the flavor. The sushi rolls were creative and tasted ok. I wasn't crazy about the yellowtail with jalapeno nor the specialty roll I ordered (salmon and tuna). It was fresh but not overly flavorful. The spicy tuna in cucumber wrap was delicious. The service was very good. I am more likely to order in from this restaurant as opposed to eat in. There are so many Sushi restaurants on the UES, and I have the ones I like which unfortunately stops me from checking out any of the others ones. Once in a while, however, I will step outside my comfort zone and try another place, sometimes they're good, sometimes not. Sushi Suki is typical of most of the places around here, same decor, same amount of tables and same old Sushi. Not that Suki has bad Sushi, it's nothing special, at least not worth changing from the places I already like. If you are into rolls, they do have quite an extensive selection, and the 2 rolls that I did have were pretty darn good, particularly the Lobster Roll, as I find most of the time, the lobster is too chewy- but they did this roll right. BEWARE - SUSHI MADE ME ILL & HORRIBLE STAFF: I just had one of the worst experiences I've ever had in 7 years of ordering food in NYC. These people are HORRIBLE. First, the order was absolutely inedible - it looked absolutely bizarre (see photos) - I've never seen salmon that looks like ribbons and the entire order smelled awful and fishy. I tried one spicy tuna roll and was completely grossed out. I called GrubHub support to issue a complaint because I could not eat it and had to throw it out. They advised me to call the restaurant who proceeded to tell me they wouldn't issue a refund if I didn't bring them the order which I told them was in the garbage. They then proceeded to berate and accuse me of lying and saying "anyone could do that" and that I was a liar.
