Stopped in for a nice dinner. Place is small yet cozy within a nicely decorated establishment. Nice and quiet, not any overheard conversations. Service was fantastic, our waiter was attentive quick and very helpful. I had the wedge salad that while similar to a standard wedge, it was not. They had large chunks of pork belly instead of the standard bacon bits. Wife's salad was unbelievable also. Dinner for me was a great Fillet done exactly to my liking, with mashed potatoes and uniquely prepared broccoli that was fantastic. Wife had shrimp and grits prepared their way that also was exceptional. Dessert was a special pecan pie for two. Baked in its crust for two and served with ice cream. It is to die for! A wonderful experience last night. We have two in our party with some big dietary restrictions/allergies (celiac and peanuts/eggs) and had an stress-free meal! We ordered the Brussels sprouts appetizer (delicious) and they made sure the aioli was separated from the plate for the egg allergy. They also took extra steps to check on allergies during the meal and even switched up the bread so that we didn't have to worry about a potential reaction. The amount of care that went into our meal was incredible. Shout out to a separate fryer (celiacs rejoice)!! Most of us (4) ordered the petite filet and all were cooked to perfection. Plates were basically licked clean and if someone didn't get to finish their last charred broccoli (me) it was because another from the table snatched it because they wanted more. The pimento burger was also a hit! For dessert we ordered the pecan bourbon pie, the New York cheesecake, and the gluten free chocolate brownie. Again, licked clean. I've seen a few reviews mentioning noise level and we did not have an issue. There were 6 of us ranging from age 4 to 75, and the noise was not too loud for us. Our first time in Asheville and was a bit overwhelmed with the amount of eateries in the area. We were happy to have found Bone and Broth offering tasty, unassuming southern style eats in a warm and comfortable atmosphere. Our server Liz was excellent and reassured our adventurous taste buds looking to try the duck and southern fried rabbit! If you haven't tried rabbit, it's like a juicier poultry with no gaminess. You gotta try it! My girlfriend had the duck and it was amazing as well. The sides with each dish were also very well prepared. My fried rabbit came on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes. The collard greens were also flavorful with a bit of tang. We had the grilled peaches and lemon olive oil cake which completely satiated our sweet tooth(s). read more

We started eating Carnivore the beginning of 2024. Eating out became more challenging, but we've had great luck with steakhouses. Found Bone & Broth via Yelp today, blown away! Some one here gets Carnivore! The Bone Broth was fantastic! Deviled Eggs also amazing. The Ribeye was melt in your mouth, the Tallow Butter was ok on flavor, happy to have the extra fat. Cheated with some very tasty Infused Liquor, Mango Habañero Tequila and Ginger Blackberry Bourbon. Yum!! Will be back when next in Asheville. read more

Although I wish they could do some acoustic rehabbing, we love this neighborhood haunt! It's just a little bit echo-y and can be hard to talk and hear when it gets busy. That being said, the food and the service has always been great. Friendly, efficient, not overly in-your-face and the staff genuinely seems happy. Went for Mothers Day dinner and we were in and out in an hour and 15, without being rushed. Started with their version of grilled Caesar salad for the table. It's huge and will easily feed 3-4. There are capers and huge flakes of reggiano parmigiano but the kicker is that bacon! It's maple glazed (I think) and tastes like it just came off the wood smoker. It's not an authentic Caesar, but it knocked our socks off. I had the grilled duck frites which I requested medium rare and it was perfect. Tender, pink and the skin was crispy and charred, served with hot honey and crispy thin fries. Since we opted to share a salad as an app, the waiter suggested charred broccoli instead. Everything was perfect. My husband had the grilled pork belly and the meat was butter tender and also charred on the outside, it was accompanied by mashed potatoes and grilled okra and tomatoes. Mom had a smaller dish- which was actually an appetizer but plentiful- of beef and bleu frites. The beef was not just the burnt ends of whatever was leftover in the kitchen (which is often the case) but perfectly cooked, tender pieces of grilled beef with bleu cheese, mushrooms and scallions on a bed of frites. (Okay, can you say "frites overload?" Absolutely! ) and to finish we shared the Brûléed NY cheesecake which was delicious and just sweet enough to end the meal on a nice note! This place is hands down the best steak place I've ever been. I got the Denver cut steak with the bacon jam on it, AMAZING (it's a special). They have the best servers as well. Bone and Broth has a "favorite neighborhood bar" feel. If you are interested and need a place to treat yourself go here. I came to Bone and Broth on a whim while visiting Asheville for a few days. I decided to sit at the bar since I was alone, and I'm so glad I did! I ended up chatting with another girl sitting a few seats down and found out she frequents B&B to visit her friend who works there. As the resident menu expert, she insisted their filet is one of the best, and she definitely did not steer me wrong. It was perfectly cooked (medium rare), juicy and flavorful, especially with the tallow butter (also recommended by my new friend). The garlic mashed potatoes and charred broccoli were the perfect sides. I practically cleared my plate. Returned for supper and ordered the vegetarian burger, replacing the accompanying frites with the Brussels sprouts appetizer (I'm slowly dragging myself, kicking and screaming, toward a healthier diet). For their veggie burger, they switched recently from the Impossible Burger to the Beyond Meat product, due to supplier issues. This is fine with me, as I like the Beyond offering a little better. And I think this is the best interpretation of this burger I've tried so far - the provolone, onion confit, mushrooms, arugula, and balsamic aioli accented the sandwich, which I thoroughly enjoyed, perfectly. I will admit to missing the frites a little, but the crunchy sprouts were very good, seasoned with the house spice rub and served with a tasty lemon aioli. Well to say this place was delightful would be an understatement. As soon as you walk in you're surrounded by an elegant, simple, yet beautiful scenery. From the yummy drinks, the mouth watering food, and phenomenal customer service from Steve. A few friends and I were visiting Asheville for the weekend to celebrate my birthday. We basically were just yelping our way around restaurants. Unfortunately we were not so lucky with some places. On our last night my one request was steak so we picked Bone and Broth and we are all so glad we did. It definitely made up for the previous places we had visited and it overall was just an amazing experience. The brussels' sprout appetizer was delicious and crispy! The filet mignon was by far the best I ever had. And the espresso martini was the perfect night cap. Steve was polite, attentive, witty, and overall just really pulled the experience together to make it so great. He also made it a point to find out my favorite dessert and bring it out with a cute birthday note on it! Do not skip over this place, you will regret it!!! There are so many great restaurants to choose from in Asheville and sadly, this will NOT be one that we chose again. Our order was simple including an appetizer, a wedge salad and a two burgers. Our party ordered "Medium Well" cook and one was great and the other had a bright red center- when the waiter came back by, we told him the burger was undercooked and he took the plate and told us: "the kitchen will tell me this is Medium well and if they re cook it, it will come out WELL"... then proceeded to describe to us what "Medium Well" means (like educating a table of 4 women about the cook of meat) It took 25 mins for the next burger to arrive- the entire party was finished eating... (while we waited for the new burger- we actually told him not to even worry about serving the new one because we were ready to leave at that point)... he brought it out to the table, Instead of the requested check. He said "the kitchen already plated it"... He then brought the check and dropped it off without saying much- the burger was still on the tab ... there was never a manager table visit etc ... Just not the kind of dining experience you would expect at a restaurant like this ... Again... My family & I are locals and were regulars here. Never again!!! Five of us recently went to dinner there to celebrate our mom's birthday. She's an elderly lady and had her service dog with her (which I had given a heads up about when I made the reservation.) There was no issue - her dog is small, doesn't make a peep, and never left under the table. Toward the end of dinner, three of the employees were standing by the host stand making fun of our mom in clear earshot of our party. They were cracking cruel jokes about what the dog's service could be. When we took a sweet family photo, we could see them rolling their eyes, making fun of the dog's appearance, and of our mom's birthday tiara that she was wearing. It was truly mean-spirited. It was also deeply hurtful because we are always polite, gracious, low-maintenance, and generous tippers. To boot, the food has gone vastly downhill over the years. It's straight up not good. But we always liked the atmosphere, and enjoyed supporting local businesses. I didn't want to write a negative post, so I spoke with the GM, Savannah, a few days later. I was seeking an apology and assurance that making fun of customers won't happen in the future. But when I explained what her staff did to us, she offered NO apology whatsoever! She instead acted curt, rude, annoyed and rushed. She wanted the name of the credit card to refund us (which is NOT the solution I was seeking) and then hung up on me. Savannah and her staff are not in the right business, as they clearly shouldn't work in hospitality. We will will take our business elsewhere, as there are plenty of tastier dining options in Asheville, minus the bad vibes. read more

Second time there. The place was busy on a Thursday night. Seated immediately, they have a very extensive wine list. Choice of foods was quite unique. I chose the tortellini with chicken sausage. It was excellent. They were some unique spices in there that I didn't recognize, but my body did the next day. In a good way. there is some very unique dishes, with a number of meat choices, as well as salmon and chicken. Have the cheesecake for dessert with coffee. The menu has a good variety from salads to steaks to burgers and other dishes. My wife got the bolognaise and it was a little overcooked (probably because my steak was ordered medium rare- assuming the pasta sat in the warmer for a few). Great wine list with descriptions for even the novice wine drinker. Steak was cooked perfectly (sorry, it was so good I dove right in and didn't take pics). If you order something besides steak, it will be risky as the place is focused on meat. We made a to-go order for a family. The Steak frites were good but the shrimp and grits could have been better. Very little shrimp and no grits and for some reason had lots of al dente okra. We were charged $25 for the shrimp and grits(we ordered two). The broth bowl was okay, guess it was not their thing. My girlfriend and I visited here this past Saturday and I cannot recommend it enough. Our server Steve was fantastic, and the food was on point.
