But the highlight of the night was one of the waitresses spilled olive oil on my rain jacket. She was apologetic and it was an accident but she was so frazzled she shouldn't have been handling food. It's been 10 years since I last came here. And I realize why I don't come more frequently. I ordered a Caesar salad, which was incorrectly named. It should've been called Parmesan powder salad. My daughter's accompanying Green beans to her steak was definitely frozen and somehow, was extremely dry on her plate. When her plate arrived in front of her, she looked up at me and said, "they gave me five green beans and cut them in half, and that made up my side dish." She also ordered the risotto as her other side dish, and after a small tentative bite, she pushed it away and said that she suspected that somebody dropped the cover of the bottle of dried garlic powder into the pan as they were cooking the risotto, and emptied almost the entire bottle of garlic powder in it. My daughter's meal had two saving graces. One is that she loved her bang, bang, shrimp, and two is that she exclaimed that her steak melted in her mouth. Service was great. Our server was all young lady who was attentive. The restaurant looks pretty pretty inside. Nothing to complain about that. I wish that the decor and service could make up for the less than mediocre food, but, I don't think I want to come back here again. My friends and family have loved the Bonefish Grill for years and have enjoyed dining there, especially for birthdays and other occasions. I had dinner at the Brentwood location with my son last evening, and we were disappointed for the first time ever. The food was just not as fresh and tasty as it historically has been. My Lily's Chicken featured a very tough and overcooked piece of chicken which was overloaded with goat cheese, normally present in this dish in a generous but not overwhelming amount. The mashed potatoes were just OK. Broccoli on the side was good. My son ordered fish and chips, and he reported that they were just OK, nothing special. In addition, the volume of the music was too high and interfered with conversation. We'll go again, but for sure we hope that Bonefish will revert to the delicious food and ambiance that we have always enjoyed. read more

My husband and I decided to go to BG in STL because we had really pleasant experience in BG in Jacksonville, FL. Great Rainbow trout! Unfortunately this location left us unimpressed. I guess when you go to a restaurant with white linen tablecloth you expect a bit of a better experience. Out of three women's stalls in the bathroom, only one was working. My door jammed from inside and I didn't have my phone with me so I had started panicking a bit after trying to free myself for what seemed to be long time ( maybe 5 min.) I ordered Scallops and Shrimp Scampi pasta and my husband had Lobster stuffed shrimp. His meal was ok but mine had some miniature scallops ( I never even knew scallops that small exist) and mini shrimp. There was decent amount of seafood but I would prefer proper size scallops and shrimp and I would be happy with just three each. Taste was really not that great. It was watery and no matter how much parmesan I added it just didn't work. I don't like to complain so I didn't but I did tell them about the lock in the bathroom and our waitress Amber (she was awesome, great service) told the manager and he did come to our table to "talk" to us( pretty much we were told to use family bathroom. I was wondering if maybe we might get a free drink but no. Sorry to say this but I believe restaurant quality depends on management, no matter where and what you manage you have to take pride in it and solve and fix any issue promptly. I had a fantastic experience at the Brentwood location bonefish grill in Saint Louis! Denise was a great server who mentioned the specials in detail-even made a recommendation for butterfish (I am picky about fish though). The hostess that greeted us got us in when she could and everyone smiled at us as they walked by the table! Everything seemed so clean and organized which is always nice. It was also a Friday evening at 745, so we expected it to be extremely busy-which it was busy but it never felt overwhelming because the back was open and there were enough servers and hostess to facilitate the presence of the customers. I always have positive experiences here and it is always nice to see the familiar faces! Daniel the manager takes time to greet tables and is extremely cheery. My experience with both the food and customer service prompted me to write a review. I love the Salmon with pan Asian sauce-always fresh and seasoned well! My husband is crazy about the mahi mahi with mango salsa and we both devoured the fresh bread on the table! My husband had one of the alcoholic key-lime drinks. Though I am sober and cannot drink-my husband really enjoyed them! They smelt wonderful and were pretty to look at! I recommend the mashed potatoes as the side and broccoli because these sides seem to pair well with the richness of the salmon and pan Asian sauce. The broccoli is buttery and the mashed potatoes are always warm and cloud-like. I find myself craving their salmon frequently. Also, my two cents about the reviews below: Whenever I see disputes people have at this restaurant, I often think it is because they don't understand how a restaurant works. When you walk into a space such as this, and there are servers helping tables rather than greeting you-please know that this is because it is their job to greet the tables and the hostesses job to greet the new customers. This is because service needs to happen at every element of the dining experience-which is how good customer service is maintained throughout your time there-not just in the beginning when you want to be acknowledged. A hostess can only run so many tables at once-while performing their other duties-so be a little patient and understanding if they are not able to directly acknowledge you right away. People who get upset about this practice seem to not know the structure that exists and would rather spend 20 minutes of their time writing a negative review rather than wait at a restaurant for 10 minutes for Fabulous food and sustained, great customer service. Additionally, corporate restaurants have a specific amount of people they can accommodate in parties both due to staff arranged, building size, etc. Understand that restaurant jobs are similar to structures in your work place in order to run efficiently. Don't just discount a place because of (small) waiting times because you miss out on the whole dining experience that was created for YOU. Next time, check whether your negative comment is due to a "negative" experience caused by the actual restaurant or by your unrealistic expectations. As someone who believes in unbiased reviews-I promise you that everyone works hard at this restaurant and is extremely personable. My Husband and I are regulars and we enjoy every-time we eat here (especially in person). I'm so happy that you can order and pay online now. at the beginning of the pandemic, they only had call in ordering. I like that they are keeping up with the demands of the people now. I ended up paying inside when I arrived. All servers/hosts are wearing masks. The tables are spread out, reservations are recommended. When I signed using a pen, they pointed out there was hand sanitizer right next to the front desk. Very considerate! We ordered the bang bang shrimp (it's what Bonefish Grill is known for) and ate them in the car. When you order takeout, the bang bang sauce is on the side of the battered/fried shrimp. You can add as little or as much sauce as you need. Each shrimp is already out of their shell, so no need to worry about a tail. You get a lot for the price. 10/10 will order again. The Thermidor Gnocchi has both lobster and shrimp. The lobster, while beautifully presented on top of the dish, lacks flavor. Once you mix the lobster into the sauce of the dish, it obviously works. If you are looking for a lobster dish, this is not it. There is 4x more shrimp than lobster. The gnocchi and the sauce are wonderful. We used the free bread to soak up all the sauce (and I also used my fingers to get every last drop). You can substitute your side for the Corn Chowder and Lump Crab soup. There is also bacon in the soup. This was excellent- not over salted or lacking flavor. Plenty of corn and crab mixed in with potatoes and bacon pieces. Would order again. read more

I would like to give the restaurant the benefit before I post. But now I feel compelled. We ate there the other night and besides the wonderful server Hanna things were disappointing. I was initially surprised by how crowded they were but I guess a lot are off for Good Friday. They have a texting system to let you know when your table is ready. Our server, Amanda, barely acknowledged us and seemed completely uninterested. She brought us water, and to our horror, each glass had hair in it. Not just one, but every single glass! The appetizer looked like it had dust on it, which is disgusting. It was time for some good seafood and fish for a change of pace. We decided to drop into Bonefish for the evening. Things started off a bit slow getting drinks, but Kyle, our server, and his assistant made up for it for the rest of our dining experience. I ordered the steak and shrimp and we also had the cedar plank salmon special. Both of them were very delicious and cooked just the way we like it. Our server came by periodically to check on us to make sure our drinks were OK and if we needed anything else. After our main meal, he suggested dessert and we hem-hawed a bit, but gave into the Keylime cake. I am used to Keylime pie, but not the cake! It was very tasty. We have been going to Bonefish Grill for years. The food is always good and the service is always good. Today we had the opposite experience. Our bread came with mold on it. I was eating mold. I took it to one of the wait staff and was told it would be handled. Our waitress came and apologized and said we would get new bread. The owner then came and apologized and told us they threw away all the bread and were making more. Great - glad I saved the rest of the customers. Any other restaurant that I was at that had served moldy bread would have comped the entire meal. They didn't offer anything. Just more bread. Sorry Bonefish, you've lost a customer. I've gone to Bonefish a few times and I was very surprised on how good my meals were. I typically get the plank salmon which is my favorite but this time I tried the crab cake and steak, it was okay but I think I will go back to my salmon. The shrimp tacos were so delicious, I went back two days later and orders some Togo and they did not disappoint. We've gone to bonefish 5-7 times and boyfriend always get the shrimp and chicken so I would assume it's worth it--HA! We typically sit and the bar and the service is very punctual and the bartenders are always kind. So I took my mom here for her birthday. She turned the big 70 and she wanted a low key dinner with her children and grandchildren. So this was the place she chose. First the ambiance is standard. From their website photos I was expecting a "wow" instead it's a standard modern design and finish. The ambiance didn't feel different... it felt copied from other restaurants. Now the service... Amber our server (I hope I got her name right) she didn't appear to have the support I would expect for a restaurant at this price point. Not sure if there was a staff shortage or what. I had to asked a few time for water / bread. When it finally came.. one of the food runners said the bread was freshly out of the oven... uhm it wasn't like warm. Our food was not delivered together. It wasn't hot... like my steak had been sitting awhile. My steak I wanted medium-well... instead it came out well done and dry. Since it was my mom's b-day I just ate it. The manager on duty did give me a 10 dollar credit. My family did eat their food and things were good on their end. I guess for me...don't order a steak at predominant seafood restaurant. Noted for next time. In the end... I still tipped the server 22%... it's not her fault the support staff and manager on duty sorta left her hanging. She didn't cook the food... and she did what she could considering the circumstances. The only thing I wish I had did was to call it out while I was there. I always enjoy Bonefish Grill. I love that they have such a large variety of seafood. I haven't seen a place with quite as much Seafood as they have, even more than the largest chain restaurant. I enjoyed my meal, and they have good service a nice dessert menu and a full bar so you can get your drink on. The establishment is clean and I've never had anything except a good time when I come here. I understand they do have certain times that they may have happy hours and specials on food. I know the happy hour starts at about 4pm or so but check on that before you go for the bar adult beverages. I enjoy their dinner dinner menu especially. The best I could want. I just come to enjoy the seafood and I am especially fond of fish. I am going to have to try their brunch though, yes they have brunch and lunch and dinner. I just wished I lived closer to them so I could eat their everyday. Oh don't forget to sign up to be Bonefish Grill Insider for savings its a reward program. First time visit, came in at 5.15pm for an early dinner to celebrate a birthday. The host staff and were nice and accomodating. The table bread, appetizer (crab cakes) and house salad came out quickly and were good. However, that's where the "good" stops. Our 2 entrees took a long time. And when they came were resoundingly disappointing. The Baja Scallop and Shrimp Scampi pasta special was too salty and the pasta was beyond overcooked. The Rockefeller Butterfish was adequately cooked but completely lacked salt and the sauce was devoid of flavor. The molten lava chocolate cake was tough (like it was microwaved for too long) and we didn't get any "molten lava" chocolate in it. I was disappointed when they came out deep-fried 2 servers who have been here a year shared that is the only way they have served them. I was not interested in fried anything, so I sent it back. 2 minutes later, the chef came out and offered to pan saute them like they used. This is an option anytime you come in. The manager delivered them and said this was a change made 1 year ago, but you can request the older version. They were delicious. The seabass was warm and well cooked, but the Oscar topping was pretty boring and under salted. My sides were warm, but you can't go wrong with their whipped potatoes amd omg! It was my first time having their new Kung pao brussel sprouts, and I recommend them to anyone . I skipped the macadamia nuts...just because nuts on food is weird to me. Decided to pick up dinner from Bonefish the other night because 1) I had a few gift cards and a gift certificate to use and 2) I was in the area and it was convenient. When I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see how busy the dining room and patio both were. I overheard the host say they were on a 2.5 hour wait-oh my! Lucky for me, I was just there to place a to-go order. While I attempted to place the order online, the gift certificate I had was not a valid method of payment and I needed to use it in person. I had a screenshot of the online order saved to my phone so I thought it would be easier to show my phone to the gentleman helping me with my order since it was a little loud and I just thought it would be easier. I did not think to ask him to check the order with me before I paid and even though I realized that the payment amount was a little less than I had originally thought, I didn't think to question the order. I paid and he told me that it might be about 20 minutes or more before they would have my order ready. No biggie. I decided to wait outside and caught up on some reading. After the 20 minutes had passed, I went inside to pick up the order. The guy did recognize me and asked for one of the other waiters to check to see if my order was ready and it was. That wasn't a bad wait at all. The service was friendly and the process was quick. When I got to the car, I decided to check the order and I noticed that he did forget to ring in a few items that I had requested online (again, I shared a saved photo of the items I was ordering online). Again, my fault for not checking with him to make sure he saw all the food items I was hoping to receive. There was not an order of the bang bang shrimp (which I was most excited about) and there weren't salads on the order either. Oh well. I was still pretty excited for my entree. When I got home, I decided to plate the meals and since it had been about a 40 minute drive, I also needed to reheat everything. Luckily, I have an air fryer so it was great to use it for the crab cake! Everything else, I placed in the microwave for a few minutes. I'll be honest. Maybe it was the reheating that took most of the flavor away, but I was not really impressed with the sautéed spinach. It didn't really taste like it was sautéed in anything? I also thought the mashed potatoes were just plain. Nothing too fancy for flavor. The crab cake was good and the lobster tail was what I had expected. As for the other entree item; my husband had the salmon which came with jasmine rice and broccoli and while the salmon tasted good; the side items were just "meh" according to my husband. Overall, this was a decent meal. Nothing that I would crave again personally. I really wish I had the bang bang shrimp and I will go back just to order that appetizer and maybe the calamari which I know always taste good! read more
