This place is huge! Nicely decorated and clean. It's nice that they have separate rooms if you had larger parties and wanted it as a private area. I ordered the off the border. It had lots of yummy vegetables inside of it and cheese. It came with a good amount of hashbrowns and two good size pancakes. I ate half of it and took the other half home for breakfast tomorrow. By the time we left at 12:30 there was only one table there besides us. So they sure weren't very busy. But the food was good, the waitress was very good and we had good company to share with. read more

I got the Biscuits Combo (two eggs, two biscuits, gravy, two bacons, two sausage links). I was a little disappointed . The gravy had almost no flavor. I cut up and added the sausage links and bacon to it, but it still didn't help much. The eggs weren't seasoned well either. I ended up putting hot sauce on them to spice them up. We were only one of only three tables with customers while we were there. The service was OK, but we didn't see our waitress too often either. I'm not sure if we'd come back. read more

This review is a bit over due. My friend and I were there on Saturday June 6th. We arrived at 1:25 and were greeted with "just so you know, we close at 2". We said that would be OK. We were seated at a table and told that was the only spot available because the rest of the dining room was cleaned and closed for the day. Server brought water and menus and asked for our order immediately. I had never been there before and said I would need a few minutes to look at the menu. Her response was that she wanted to get the order in before the kitchen shutdown the grill. It only took a couple of minutes to order and food came out quickly. She brought the bill at the same time and asked if we could pay before eating so that the cashier could close out for the day. My friend obliged and left a very generous tip in spite of the unfriendly and unprofessional attitude. We didn't see our server again...no follow up, no refills. My breakfast was good, crispy hash browns, sausage and scrambled eggs. My friend got a burger that she couldn't eat, said it tasted bad. I don't think I'll be returning. Perhaps management could revise the hours sign. Closing at 2, no one will be seated after 1 so that we can better serve you. read more

Golden Oak is a great place for breakfast! I have been here several times and my favorite thing is how big this place is! It can sometimes be frustrating how crowded breakfast places can get with minimal seating. Sometimes on the weekends I just want a good breakfast, coffee and don't want to wait an hour for seating. Service is always friendly and fast! You are greeted as soon as you arrive. I have never had to wait for seating as there are so many tables. I have had pancakes, eggs, sausage and all have been delicious! They have a huge menu with so many options. The coffee is fresh and continuously refilled. Lots of rave reviews for this place so I had to try it. It was pretty decent but didn't wow me for sure. I will definitely give it another shot because I could see the potential. My pancakes had that good malty maybe is the word flavor I like but they were too thick and cake like. That may have been a one off and not an always thing? I had the country omelette and the sausage was so strong it overpowered the rest of the dish. It wasn't terrible but I'll order one without sausage and with cheddar cheese next time. It came with American cheese which I thought I'd like but didn't so much. Otherwise my server was nice but slow on drink refills especially for how slow it was on a Tuesday morning. I ordered the Two Egg Breakfast with my eggs scrambled, I chose fresh fruit versus hash browns, and pancakes versus toast. The eggs had the brown marks meaning they were overcooked. The fruit was fresh and tasty. The pancakes were not quite right. The pancakes were cooked completely but they were not fluffy and they tasted a little dried out. I suggest they add some baking soda to make them fluffy and some vanilla to improve the flavor. I received good service. There's a large parking lot in front of the restaurant. read more

Nice atmosphere and friendly service is about all I can say that is positive. My omelette was flat, overcooked, rubbery and lacked all but a suggestion of the meats that were supposed to be inside. Furthermore, "rye toast" should be RYE TOAST, not some white bread swirl. My extra crispy hash browns were chewy. My companion's pancakes were acceptable but nothing more. There are too many other options for breakfast places near us so I don't see us ever returning. How hard is it to make breakfast? read more

This place is in our neighborhood so we have really wanted to like it and have tried it several times. But it's just sooo inconsistent. We do pickup orders and they frequently don't include like half the meal. And the eggs are almost always raw/undercooked. Inedible slop. Food was so bad we couldn't eat it. Corned beef hash is straight out of a can. Eggs tasted foul and were overcooked. Pancakes were flavorless rubber. And then the manager came over and talked to us like we were idiots. Charged us full price for the food we didn't eat was extremely ride and argumentative as we were trying to be polite. $50 to leave hungry and angry. The server was sweet and should get a job at a better restaurant. I know a one star review can hurt a local business and that's the exact reason I'm leaving it. read more

I had an issue with biscuits in gravy from doordash order. They were not cooked and the gravy tasted of cigarette smoke. I issued complaints through doordash and called the restaurant. When I spoke to the manager about refunds they said we can't do anything to help you, I pressed stating they have a partnership with doordash and asked about help with the refund since doordash did not issue any. He proceeded to say "what do you want me to do, bend over so you can fuck me in the ass?" Im in shock staff is talking to customers this way. My friends and I lifted at The Edge next door and decided to get breakfast/ lunch after! We walked in and we're promptly seated. This place is HUGE- so it would be great for large parties. The menu is pretty big, lots of options to choose from. I got an iced coffee with milk to drink. It was your average iced coffee. It was caffeine so no complaints from me! It also came in a mason jar and I love special touches like that. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted since there are so many options! I ultimately settled on the breakfast sandwich with meat. I chose bacon, and it comes with two eggs, cheese, on an everything bagel. I love everything bagels so I was 100% in. My friends got the club sandwich, pancakes with strawberries, and biscuits and gravy. My sandwich was SO good. The bacon was perfectly fried and the cheese was melted a bit. I thought $10 was a bit pricey for only getting the sandwich and no sides- but it was tasty none the less! Golden Oak Pancake House came to me highly recommended. It may be worthy of the recommendation but NOT the selection I made---pancakes (it's in the name). I ordered the cinnamon swirl pancakes. They arrived swimming in a liquid sugar topping (literally dripping off the plate onto the table). I sent them back and asked for no topping. The second stack arrived...they were as dry as my foot (my dining companion commented that they looked dry)...were they ever! next, they were so tough they could not be cut with the fork, had to use the knife. The bill arrives and I see that 2 pancakes are TWELVE DOLLARS!?!? I ate less than one of them. There's more. Moving to the checkout register I was charged a 3% surcharge on my debit card. I informed the cashier (not his fault) that a surcharge on a debit card was ILLEGAL in all 50 states. He stated that is what management told him to do. I will not be returning until, at the very least, surcharges are removed from debit cards. read more

Haven't been here in a bit. Breakfast was good, but the prices have doubled! I am very aware that we are in an inflationary mess, but not enough to double prices. We had a basic breakfast, 2 people, and our bill was $46 before tip. Our server was excellent and we always tip well , bringing our bill close to $60. This is not food worth that price range, it is standard breakfast food. They had a new senior a.m. menu, very small choices, but wished we had noticed the price increases and ordered from that. They are going to price themselves out of customers, too ad because we really like this place. But other breakfast places much more reasonable. read more

This newly opened breakfast/brunch place was not to disappoint. There were 5 of us and we all said the same" This food was amazing!" The portions were plenty, food was extremely tasty, and the place was very clean. The wraps were enough for 2 people. The salads came filled to the top of a huge bowl, with plenty of chicken and bacon for my Cobb salad. The chicken fried steak was huge with quite a selection of side items to chose from. This place markets itself as a fresh food establishment. Then why are the biscuits warmed up in the microwave right after they have been removed from a package? The gravy is instant style, like just water and bring to a boil. Then once it gets to the table it's congealed into this gelatinous blob thrown atop a slightly warm previously frozen biscuit. The omelet was overcooked and nearly burnt as the eggs were stiff and dry, not to mention the veggies in my omelet were very overripe. The building itself is not so bad the dining area smells of mildew and moisture. On top of that there was a surcharge for using your debit card, my breakfast was $40 and it was not worth the bland food that was placed in front of me. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! Super unexpected! First time here, got the Golden skillet with pancakes. This skillet is loaded, hash browns and green peppers, onions and mushrooms and MEAT! The pancakes had a nice flavor to them. The gravy on the biscuits was just how I like it. Had a nice sausage taste to it. The coffee was even exceptional. The service is great too, very attentive servers & staff.
