Awesome service from the hostess to the manager! I've been to Bonefish in FL numerous times but my husband had never been. Unfortunately he neglected to tell them to cook his Kobe beef burger medium and it came out well done and even though we freely admitted it was his error the manager comped his burger. I had the Bang Bang Shrimp Eggs Benedict and it was AMAZING!!! I chose the scalloped potatoes to go with it and was not disappointed. Went on Valentine's Day for dinner. Had a 7:15 pm reservation. We were seated at 7:50 pm. The lighting in the entire restaurant was so dark, almost like a night club. I guess we weren't the only ones to notice as the lights were readjusted twice during our wait. Upon being seated, our waiter, Nathan, took our drink order and explained the specials. I was very happy that he was our server since he is super knowledgeable and personable.I had a pomegranate martini that was just right. For our appetizer we ordered the Bang Bang shrimp. On point as in the past. We then ordered our main courses which were the Crab crusted cod with delicious whipped potatoes and the Imperial tilapia. There were no leftovers for lunch the next day. Both were phenomenal. One thing I have not mentioned is how amazing their hot bread and seasoned dipping oil is. Let me tell you a story about my cute older parents going out for my mother's birthday dinner here October 15, 2014. I guess the food was okay, but my father left his credit card. When he returned home he called the restaurant asking if he had, they said no. So he spent the next two hours tearing apart their car thinking he had made a mistake, it wasn't there. So the next day he went back into the restaurant to ask if perhaps it was found. The manager Nathan ate my father alive and basically did what one would call elder abuse "stupid old man" and stuff like that. My father is far from stupid, he may not walk very well anymore, but he is a CPA and still does taxes. I bet he has more degrees and intelligence than Nathan. What is wrong with people? So a day later -- guess what? The credit card was found at the restaurant and they called him to let him know-no apology no nothing. Just come get your credit card stupid old man. My sister called Nathan and told him he'd better call and apologize to them, demanded actually. He did but offered no renumeration and his apology was forced and fake. Don't let your older parents go here, until they change management. Cruelty is never an option, and they were cruel. I think they forget older folks who get abused have children who will defend them! Meanwhile, nicely, a girl came around with a plate of Bang-Bang Shrimp. However, when my 10-yr-old son politely but obviously stood and waited his turn to have one, the girl absolutely ignored him and was quite clear she didn't think he deserved it because he was a kid. She walked away right to his face. So I walked over and took one from her and handed it to him with a loud, "here you go Jack, you were very polite and she was not." We were expecting to sit in the main dining room and were shocked to be circled around through that dining room and back to the bar area where we had been waiting before... to a booth in the bar section directly next to the kitchen with its noise and hustle and bustle. We visited this location for Valentines Day. We went Sat the 13th of Feb.We had reservations at McCormick and Schmick in Cincy but after reading reviews here on Yelp changed our reservation to Bonefish since we had good experiences in the past. We drove over from Lawrenceburg for our 4:00 reservation. The entire place was almost empty except for a couple tables and one large party. Up until about 5:00 they were very slow. We ordered an appetizer of bacon wrapped scallops with mango salsa. The waiter came back about 15 minutes later apologizing for apps taking so long and we both ordered Oscar Wild Mahi Mahi entrees. By now they were picking up some and everyone but our table was receiving salads and bread with some sort of dipping sauce. The large party was served. I asked the waiter if we could get bread since it had been a while and he said yes. About 30 minutes after we ordered a different person brought us our appetizer and entree at the same time. We asked that person for bread. We ate the appetizer and it was good although it was cooled to the point it was obvious it had sat there waiting while the entree was cooked. Plus in my experience no one serves the app and the entree together. Our waiter stopped back by and said "Did your app get here before your entree?" I told him no they came together and he laughed and said he was afraid that would happen. He then disappeared and only passed by while cleaning off or serving other tables around us. The entrees are what earned this a 2 star because the Mahi was delicious. The appetizer was good but lukewarm scallops arent really appetizing. But we didnt have time to send them back. The bread NEVER arrived and there was no apology for that. So an $85 meal was pretty much ruined. It seemed to us that the waiter was way more interested in taking care of the large party than our two topper. The manager stopped by several tables around us checking if everything was okay but walked right past us while helping bus other tables. I actually managed restsurants for almost 30 years and things sometimes go wrong so I understand that. But it did seem like we werent important to them because there were only two of us and they were concentrating on the group and the reservations that were during normal dinner hours. I left a tip but less than 10% and left a note as to why. He did serve us and deserved something but we felt we should have stuck with McCormick and Scmick and most likely will next time. So disappointing this time. Last time we ate here, it was wonderful, food was great and our server was personable. We decided to have a nice dinner date before thanksgiving, and it was not good. They forgot to bring out my lobster tail, the butter was cold, and my filet was rare when I ordered a medium rare. Some backhanded apologies occurred, but there was no manager involved. When it came time to pay, we used 75$ in gift cards and there was a mistake on the remaining total. Once again, half assed apology and no manager involvement. Service was decent, atmosphere is nice but got more crowded as the night went on. Most importantly, the food: 1. We had the Bang Bang Shrimp, edamame, and potstickers as appetizers, and of these, the shrimp was the most delicious, coming in an orange bang bang sauce and served at a healthy amount for 5 people to eat 2-3 each. The edamame was good but not particularly special. The potstickers were good, but again not particularly special, being served in basically soy sauce with chopped vegetables. The bread they serve is very good, plus they have an enjoyable dip of olive oil with pesto. 2. For the main course, I had the Tilapia Imperial, which actually quite good, especially coming from someone that doesn't normally like fish; however, my father had the grouper, and as I discovered later on in the meal when he let me try his leftovers: His fish was burnt, the whole thing. He managed to eat around a lot of the surface of it, but the fact of the matter is the seasoned seared outside was actually just burnt. My dad doesn't like to make waves so he didn't speak up about it, so I'm sure if he had asked they would've replaced it, but even so, it's unacceptable for a $20 meal to come out burnt. That's my reason for giving 3 stars. Another person with us had an overcooked fish as well. 3. For dessert we had the chocolate brownie, which was also delicious. Other notes: we were asked 3 times after a couple people getting glasses of wine in the beginning if we wanted any more wine/alcohol. Today was the greatest experience! Our server's name was Caleb and my family and I could not have asked for better service. In all my dining experience, today I had the best service, hospitality, and accommodation. The quality of our food; to the kitchen staff; is superb even during a busy diner shift. Upon leaving I had the dishonor of being seated next to a "45" year old white man and his date who slipped a rubber band into the bottom of their chowder after eating their full meal. They asked to speak with a manager. Once the management apologized sincerely for their experience, she stated how their meal would be comped. The 45 year old continued to elaborate a fictitious story with nervous body language about how in "all his years" he's never seen this happen. While explaining his story to management, his date with nervous body language as well avoided all eye contact, not acknowledging the conversation and allowing her partner in crime to continue their deceitful fairytale. Upon leaving this circumstance was unfolding. I immediately informed my server of what had happened. I was an eyewitness to every action that took place during this encounter. My husband and I went to this Bonefish Grill for the first time EVER last night to celebrate our Anniversary. I made reservations, we arrived early, and were seated promptly. Our waiter, Donnie, made our initial visit on a special occasion wonderful. He was very attentive to our needs and made suggestions. We had the Dinner for 2 - the Boom Boom Shrimp appetizer was simply divine, as well as the Soft Shell Crab entrée I had and the Red Fish Dinner that my husband had. The strawberry shortcake was shared by us both, and it was light and just the right ending to a fantastic meal. We were at the restaurant early on a Thursday thus there were very few customers. We were promptly seated and our water was there almost instantly. The menu is extensive plus there a re specials. We both ordered the tilapia with mine being blackened and my souses being grilled. Both came out perfect and were nice pieces of fish. Served with french greens beans which were delicious. The other plate had broccoli which too was cooked just perfectly. The waiter was very attentive and our drink glasses were always being topped off. It's priced slightly higher than Outback, but has the same dress code. Which is wear clothes, be you. You do not have to dress up to eat here. Yes it is kind of dark inside, if it really is a problem they will try to adjust for not a lot more light, but some. The bar is seat yourself. If it us on the menu, but you want it a certain way or with a sauce/style they will make it happen, some things are extra, others may make it cheaper. Ask them any question, it's not dumb to not know. It is dumb to not know and never ask. Try the bang bang, even though the muscles are by far the best. Spinach Bacon Gorganzula Style/topping is AMAZING, it isn't normally on the menu, but they always have some. It goes on whatever you want, be it steak, chicken, fish. That all to be said, service like most places Friday/Saturday is rough. Like every restraunt there are good servers and bad ones. Terrible! We went with a group of 9 for Father's Day brunch. We were the third table seated, and there was no one waiting in line behind us. That being said, the service could not have been slower, my food came out cold, and I was charged the full price of an additional meal for a side of french toast. We all ordered the unlimited bubbles brunch and the wait for drinks was so long that when they finally brought out our order of drinks (two at a time) we would place another order for more hoping that we wouldn't have to flag down a server again and ask where our order was. We had two servers, but they couldn't seem to get their timing right. Each server would come check on us, but they would do it within a matter of one to two minutes of each other, we wouldn't see them again for about 15 to 20 minutes. All in all, service was terribly slow, food was cold, and unlimited mimosas was definitely not unlimited (due to the fact that the wait was so long in between each order). We finally left after two hours leaving our friends still waiting for a to go box, but with no server in sight, my guess is they still might be there. read more

Bacon wrapped scallops with mango salsa were very good. For dinner I had pork chop with potatoes au gratin and steamed broccoli; even the broccoli was the best I've had in years! We go to a bonefish location multiple times a year and have always had a pleasurable experience until now. We went to this location last Sat for an early dinner on the way to airport and had an awful experience. We arrived at 3:15 and was quickly seated as there were only six tables filled at that time. It all went down hill once our waiter Mike arrived. He was awkward, rambled when he spoke generally appeared to be under the influence of something. It took him 10 mins to bring us the days special menu. His first attempt to bring me the beer I ordered took 20 min- but it was the wrong beer- the strange thing was he walked all the way back to our table with it - then realizes its wrong- he didn't return it to the bar but rather took it back to the kitchen with him. The replacement took an additional 20 mins and only after I asked him three timed(yes three times) to check on my beer. We needed to flag down another waiter to get a refill of water. Mike would just disappear for 5-10 mins at a time. He was waiting on us and one other couple- they were frustrated with him as well. Our meals took 45 mins to arrive- they were cool and obviously sitting around waiting on Mike to reappear. He never came by to ask us how our meals were. We needed to catch the attention of another waiter to get a steak knife. We never got the desert we ordered because we needed to leave to catch a flight. And to top things off Mike attempted to over charge us on our bill by ~50.00. Mike was a mess and definitely under the influence- worst service ever We finally got out of there at 4:45 Luckily we made it to the airport in time. read more
