I didn't try the squash served with the dinner, I should have asked about the vegetable for the day. I"m not a fan of squash. I really like this restaurant. The lights are dimmed low to give a cozy atmosphere, however any time I've been there it's been backed, and noisy. I do like the dim lights however, because it gives you the feel it's just you and your party. Food is excellent. I've had the salmon and the fish tacos. Both excellent. The Bang Bang shrimp are also most delicious. Generous portions too, so you def get your money's worth. Speaking of money, this restaurant isn't the cheapest, but also not the most expensive one around. Again, you get what you pay for in this restaurant. The staff is always very friendly. I have frequented this establishment since opening years ago! Sadly, my last two visits, mid-January and last night 3/1. Quality and service nothing like it once was. In January my shrimp/scallops were not done..did not complain as I was with others. I took home and cooked and it was tasty. I ate off my daughter's plate. Last night after eating on a seafood chowder for the week, I wanted a filet. I ordered the 8 oz portion; wanted a salad rather than one of their standard sides, better sides an upcharge! I had to pay an upcharge of 2$ to receive a most skimpy salad. They serve spread out on a shallow bowl to appear as more than is. I got what I believe was the 6 oz steak as it was small and the portion of whipped potatoes looked to be about 1/3-1/2 cup...both served on a huge plate that only accentuated how petite the serving was. I also asked for a portion of bread..suppose that due to my being one, it didn't matter...never got! I watched around me at the bar and others got bread and when the customer next to me received his 8 oz steak, could not believe the portion, in addition, the portion of potatoes on his plate? My filet was undercooked and full of grissle(?) I noted my concerns, especially the portion and the poor quality of the meat with the bartender and she said, sorry about that. You might think why did I not mention to the bartender...well, trying to get her attention was another matter. Seemed more interested in attending to the men that she called by name. I went to Bonefish Grill last night and was surprised to find that they have instituted the use of a microphone to announce the names of people whose tables are ready. I found it very annoying. It was noisy already because it was a busy Friday night, and the incessant yelling to call people to the hostess stand was infuriating, more noise on top of noise! The Bang Bang shrimp was overcooked. I wondered if they had left the peel on them. Not a great experience overall. My husband wasn't fond of his gnocchi, either. It was dry. Such an amazing place! Hubby and I went there for date night. Perfect ambiance. Wouldn't go back with our toddler. Their food is to die for! The restaurant took our reservation and we were seated promptly which was much appreciated. Our servers were prompt, everything came out quickly with no mistakes. That is saying something. Ok so we went today for Mother's Day! We were crazy - but we agreed to the 45 min wait. Ok so the wait was more like 1.5 hours. Yes we were hungry and after 45 minutes I was not going to start over at another restaurant or eat fast food. The young lady at the host counter was super nice. Obviously we weren't the only ones waiting and when I checked in after 45 minutes she smiled, apologized and explained they were working diligently to seat the reservations. Soooo then we are seated and anticipating a small two top table in the corner we were seated in a huge booth! Wow! The guy was nice. Then there was HEATHER! I love going to Bonefish, and have been here numerous times with my husband and girlfriends. Last night a friend and I arrived and were seated. We immediately smelled a sewer type smell on the way to our table. We were seated, and were having drinks in the main dining area. The smell continued - it would become stronger and then soften a little. there were actually times when I would hold my nose. We asked our waitress about it, and she said it was a sewer issue, that it was out of their control and affecting others in that area. She said it was being addressed as quickly as possible. This review is based on a July 2015 visit. When we arrived the restaurant was nearly empty. Only two tables had guests, yet we had to wait for several minutes at the hostess desk before someone greeted us. When our Hostess arrived. She apologized, seated us, then asked who was celebrating a birthday and proceeded to hand us a Birthday Card. Later she came back and presented us with a complementary box of Chocolates. A very nice gesture indeed. It was a very nice looking restaurant. The bar was empty but looked inviting. We will later find out why it was empty. Our waitress was very pleasant & answered all our questions. The daily specials listed a Signature Martini that a couple of us decided to try but the waitress informed us that Bonefish Grill of Greenville does not serve Alcoholic Beverages on Sunday! So why is it on the daily special menu and why is it listed on the web site as a Sunday Special? We decide on soda and Ice tea. As for the food. It ranged from Excellent to OK. Bang Bang Shrimp was Outstanding! Fried Calamari was Good & the accompanying dipping sauce was Excellent! Cesar Salad was Average. Lettuce fresh, dressing a little sparse. Lots of croutons. Fresh Hot Bread, infused oil on the side was very good. The Grilled Grouper w/ Lobster and Crab sauce was Very Good. The Fish and Chips were Very Good. The Crab Cakes were loaded with lump Crab meat, spiced well with little to no breading. Very nice indeed.. The Lobster Roll was OK. The presentation was impressive, the Lobster was plentiful but the lobster was a bit watery.. The 1/2 lb Bacon Cheese Burger was very tasty but a bit overcooked and a little dry. Scallops & Shrimp got a mixed review. Scallops were VG but the shrimp were a little overcooked. Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos were stuffed with Shrimp and Extremely Good. Side dishes included, Mac & Cheese w/ Truffles, a pleasant surprise & Recommended. Crab meat Fried Rice was OK. The Medley of vegetables was close to raw and overpowered with Garlic. The Potato Chips that accompanied the Burger were VG. Garlic Mashed Potatoes were tasty. For desert: The Flour less Brownie with Ice Cream, Raspberry sauce and whipped cream was terrific but even better was their Trio of Homemade Donuts with whipped cream, caramel and chocolate sauce. Portions were plentiful. We took some food home with boxes provided. All in all it was a pleasant dining experience and we would definitely like to return. Just not on Sunday!
