Was hopeful when we came upon this place. It's located off the beaten path, looked like it could be good. Place is clean. I had the seafood low country boil (crab, shrimp, crayfish). Comes with corn and baby potatoes. A tad too salty for me. Saving grace were the generous amount of potatoes. Those helped to balance out the salt. I've yet to sample good low country boil. This foodventure doesn't deter me, I'll be on the lookout til I find it!

I would love to give a review of the food for this restaurant..... but after 25 minutes of waiting for the waitress to take our order my wife and I walked out . We were not alone 3 other tables had had enough also and walked out . The waitresses were not busy.... just standing around clueless. In the entire restaurant only one table actually had food. Absolutely surreal experience. The restaurant is in the old WOK INN location..... If you are planning on trying it ( and can get food) I suggest you hurry.... with service like this they want be open long !!

This is an area of many choices for your food dollar. First of all, it has just opened so delays should be expected. If you can be patient, it's worth the wait. The spices and food quality are on point. Expect to pay around $20 for the really good stuff but it's a ton of food. They'll iron the kinks out but I promise I'll be back. Best bet is the boiled offerings including lobster, crab and shrimp. If you're worried about the wait, a takeout order is solid.

Excellent seafood boil and great price if you do the daily special. Also have a good Chinese variety for the selective eaters.

Honestly, all of the staff we encountered were so helpful, I was very impressed. The bar area is first come, first served. The oysters were fresh and I was given the choice for the sizes of them. The mignonettes were absolutely delicious. We also ordered a burger to share so they cut it in half for us and split the side of fries as well. That was the nicest gesture! The burger is made of two smashed patties with American cheese, garlic confit aioli, and diced caramelized onions. Absolutely delicious! The patty was seasoned and tender. The aoili and onions paired so well together. I can't wait to return for this and dinner service. Fries were fresh and crispy. My only complaint is the excess grease was sitting in the bottom of the metal container, so maybe a piece of paper or something at the bottom could help. Coconut espresso martini was also delicious. I don't like coconut, but the flavor of it was very subtle. Definitely will be returning!

Starting with our appetizer, Bang bang Shrimp, (which was so delicious) I knew we were in for a special treat and we were not disappointed. My husband and I split the Grilled Caesar Salad and it was great. His daily special, Fresh Tile Fish (from Florida) left him fully satisfied and he raved about his entree. The Chicken Piccata had delicious flavor and very good. My Seared Tuna was prepared perfectly , as was the Salmon my nephew ordered. Coral had a kid friendly menu for our little Great Nieces and had a good selection. Celebrating of my husband's birthday was finished with a dessert of Sticky Toffee Pudding and my niece ordered Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse bar and it was beyond delicious. Great dinner and a wonderful ambiance. Thank you, Evan for the terrific service.

IIIII like good food and I cannot lie…read more.... I will preface this all by saying I have been coming to Greenville for almost 15 years for work. maybe only once a year but still... I love the city and the people. Fall for Greenville is fantastic!! Onto my review -- I was visiting Greenville for work this past week and was staying at the Aloft. I did a quick online search for a new food / dining destination when i saw ABYSS... Since it is right beside my hotel I decide to give it a go! Wow, what a treat. I sat at the bar. Bartender was top shelf Ali i think... She made me a paper plane without having to look it up . The happy hour menu was a pretty amazing value so i tried a couple of pieces from it. Bluefin "nachos" ie wontons.... Great!! Scallops and bacon sliders.. great!! Then I decided to also add the Wagyu - crispy rice. Also great!! But you know what else really sets this place apart? The Fries! Crazy but here's my take. Everyone is doing fancy pretentious, parm, truffle garlic blah blah blah.... These fries had a unique slender (thin but wide) cut, seasoned lightly. and cooked to perfection. you can tell they take it all very seriously here. from the Chefs all the way to the greeters. It's like they all took Yes chef training at "The Bear" IYKYK...Fantastic attentive service. Highly recommend and look forward to visiting again!

They all help each other out and don't make excuses. ( such as "your not my table."). This is excellent. Cocktails were okay. Espresso martini was cute with octopus design but it was average at best. Dirty martini was similar...a plus for the blue cheese stuffed olives. Appetizer of cooked oysters with parmesan and bone marrow was okay. In my opinion, there should be a slight char on the top. It was okay. Would probably not get again. The main courses are amazing. You cannot go wrong. Dessert is fair. The hazelnut dessert for a birthday person is the best and not even on the menu. The tiramisu was fair .different in that it was very dense. Overall this is quite expensive. The estimated tip on the receipt it's based on the meal plus taxes. So be aware of this. My advice for this place is stick with basic drinks, get the entrees and pass on dessert.

We had a reservation so we were seated quickly in a big comfortable group - party of four. The server was a bit quirky. A little "too much" if you know what I mean. The wine list was amazing. So many choices. We shared the Brussels sprouts and a shrimp lettuce wrap. The sprouts were fantastic. The lettuce wrap I do not recommend. The shrimp had no flavor. They should do a spicy Asian sauce on them. I got the chopped salad as a starter. Loved the dried cranberries. Dressing was a little light. Also, very hard to eat with a fork. :-) For the main, I got the filet cooked medium rare. I was eyeing a $100 A2 ribeye but I was someone's guest and did not want to overstep. The filet was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Only $49. Guessing it was 8 ounces. It was served in a Worcestershire jus that was excellent. Also came with mushrooms, asparagus and small potatoes. Loved the dish. Highly recommend!

We checked in inside where it was quite dark and decided to dine outside since the weather was so nice. After browsing the menu I decided on the two recommendations from our server: - Fried Green Tomatoes: Good. Nicely prepared and presented. It tasted good and very balanced. - Crab Cakes: Good. The crab cakes themselves were quite good, but a little more wet than I'm accustomed to. I quite liked the sweet corn maque choux. - Key Lime Pie: Good. More like a tart, it has very mild flavours which I liked. Server was really good. Very friendly, attentive and professional. Overall, a very good meal. I would return if in Greenville again

Such a fantastic location, on the corner of McBee Ave. The building and setting is gorgeous inside and outside seating. Both very large areas that would be awesome for evenings out. I'll be sure to come back for that. I chose outside for the nice breeze out with lots of umbrella's for shade. I always feel cold inside restaurants and didn't have a sweater.. so I chose one of the long marble top tables outside. There is also a big tv for game viewing in a fully covered corner area. The bar opens up so it's accessible whether seated inside or out (photos). The menu has great choices. I had done my research beforehand since I was on a time crunch and ordered the roast beef melt.. which came with fries and au jus that was amazing!! I added a side of steamed oysters.. perfection!! These came with horseradish, cocktail sauce, red wine vinegar and oil for dipping. I ended my meal with creme brûlée that was better than one's I've had in Paris. It was topped with a perfect layer of flamed sugar, fresh assortment of fruit in whipped creme + a tiny crown of mint. The creme brûlée had a hint of lemon, making it over the top delicious. Austin B. Was my server and he was amazing. Really a great dining experience and with food being that amazing for lunch.. work felt like a vacation! Hope you go eat at STIR in Greenville.. so worth your time and convenience when dining downtown.

5 Stars - Bring your appetite and your beach vibes!…read more Listen--I don't know who this seafood spot thinks it is, but they are not playing around. First of all, the portion sizes? Massive. Like "I came hungry and still left with a to-go box the size of a carry-on" massive. If your fork isn't trembling from the weight of shrimp and scallops, did you even eat here? The food? Slaps. Like "call your mama and tell her you found seafood that tastes like a hug" good. Everything was seasoned perfectly, cooked fresh, and tasted like it came straight from the coast--probably because the decor had me wondering if I accidentally drove to Florida. Nautical-themed, beachy vibes, clean enough to make a health inspector weep with joy. Now let's talk service. Our server was so nice I started wondering if they were trained in hospitality and emotional support. Fast, friendly, and made us feel like welcomed. And the prices? Let me put it this way: the food you get for the money feels borderline illegal (but in a good way). I've paid more for sad fish tacos at the airport. If you're craving seafood that tastes great, fills you up, doesn't break the bank, and makes you feel like you're eating dinner on a coastal vacation--you've found your spot. Pro tip: bring stretchy pants!

Not pictured was the charcuterie board and Brie appetizers that were all split and devoured. What was documented was the roasted duck breast with potatoes and asparagus. The duck was roasted perfectly with the skin, crispy for the texture and seasoned divinely. Yall the potatoes were crispy on the outside, well fluffy like little clouds inside, and had a punch of flavor. The asparagus was rich with a butter and lemon note. If a plate could sing!
