This place is a disaster waiting to happen. On the outside it's a decent atmosphere when you come in the door the waiters and waitresses look, professional, etc.. You almost think you're in a upper scale restaurant. But behind the scenes, there is something big lacking. Today the issue was a pork chop that was raw and the waitress didn't even care. Maybe they don't realize how sick you can get from eating uncooked pork. That was the highlight, but I promptly ordered a salad to start with and didn't get it for approximately 25 minutes. The waitress never checked on me once until it was check time. As far as I'm concerned, that pork chop should've been taken off of my bill at least partially. Decided on a late lunch at 2:30 in the afternoon. Greeted with no hello or smile. Host unwelcoming and businesslike. Very dark but noticed a presentation of some sort going on in the corner. Estate planning, cremation burial? Hmm. Unfortunately no music to drown out the statistics of being killed in a car accident. Near empty restaurant which questioned my decision to choose Bonefish Grill. Seated and greeted by server who also doesn't care to smile. Questions regarding the menu were answered by server with distain. Sorry my father is hearing impaired and you had to repeat yourself! Asked if there was a lunch menu. One menu, all day was the response. Ok. Ordered the shaved Brussel sprout salad with Salmon. I had a hard time finding the Brussel sprouts. So I went there with my brother and sister-in-law, and the reviews that I saw were really not that great, but after sitting down and being served, the service was quite good. The staff was very attentive. The manager walked around a couple of times to make sure everyone was satisfied with their food One of the dishes that we had was overcooked because it's sat underneath the heating lamp for too long, so when we brought it up, there was no questions asked. They grabbed the plate brought it back to the kitchen and they fresh one came out perfectly cooked. I was a little disappointed that the muscles Josephine was no longer on the menu, but I had the Aji tuna salad and the corn and crab chowder. All in all it was a very good meal. read more

Bonefish should be ashamed of this establishment. From the reception to the lazy servers to the cooks. I know the entire town pretty much offers the same crappy meals but this one takes the top spot. The bread was great as well as good garlic mashed potatoes. But the fish was over cooked outside and raw inside. The glass of red wine obviously was chilled to 35 degrees and the broccoli and salad were pretty much poison as far as old and wilted. I saw some recent poor reviews but wanted to add mine b/c it is the exact opposite. This had been the 3rd-4th time we were here (the Villages location), and there has never been a problem with the food or service. All other times were for dinner, but yesterday (Saturday) we went for brunch which was great. The service and food were good. The restaurant was able to accommodate a request for a slightly different breakfast dish, and the eggs benedict I had looked and tasted very good. First off our server David was excellent as well as our food. We sat out on the patio which is always very nice. However, the hostesses need to improve their attitude. It was not my fault that they did t have enough servers to sit people even though they had empty tables. I totally understand that and didn't even make a fuss about it. Let's start with the rolls. It is on a whole nether level. The way you bite in to them and the salt coats your lips gives it a great punch of flavor when you lick your lips. I got the chicken pesto sandwich and that was also amazing. The bun was soft but had a nice crunch when you bit down into it. It also had the most perfectly cooked bacon I've ever had a restaurant. Still good after all these years. Real fresh whipped cream is gone, however, as is the excellent desserts they once had. Now, the desserts are bland and you can tell they are mass produced by Sysco or whichever large food distributor this company uses. A total shame. They have a supplemental menu of specials with a Brussels sprouts appetizer on it. It's beyond delicious and I added rice to it to make it the perfect vegan meal. Bonefish should really add more vegetarian meal options, especially now that animal Products are tainted everywhere, and the Brussels sprouts appetizer is a good start. It's the Villages so expect to wait during snowbird season. Other than that, it's easy to sit at the bar. It's a shame they took away the Wednesday special they used to have, which drew crowds. read more

Was hesitate to eat at a chain for our day after Christmas dinner but our family was insistent. I made our reservation online for 7pm for a party of 5. We got there right on time and were quickly seated. The restaurant was packed. Since I'm celiac I do research restaurants beforehand to make sure they are gluten friendly options. There was a separate gluten free menu with many options. This made ordering so much easier and convenient for me and the party. I ordered the mussels Josephine without bread for my appetizer. No prices were printed on the gluten free menu. For my entree I got Mahi mahi , assorted vegetables ( ended up being broccoli) and mashed potatoes. I ordered the macadamia nut brownie for my dessert. Everything was delicious except for the broccoli which tasted raw and unseasoned. The family enjoyed the dinner and our service was really good. Some family members didn't like their meals for various reasons but I enjoyed mine and 5 stars for the separate menu. Would definitely recommend for celiacs. read more

We decided to go to Bonefish in the Villages (Florida) today. The wife was looking to enjoy your salmon.I wanted to try something different. Wife ordered the salmon with aspargus side and cole slaw. I asked about the quality of the fish taco. I ordered from the lunch menu and was told the portions were small and to try the dinner option. Results: Salmon was thin obviously from the tail, and very fatty on the down side. Aspargus was exactly like it came from the can, hardly al dente, more like mush. As for the fish taco, as I told my server, they were the worst I have ever tried. of the three, I ate just short of two. Thinking the first one was an outlier. We have tried another Bonefish and found it to be different and better. At this one, we shared the salmon and a salad. We were with friends and so didn't make a big deal of anything with the exception for making sure what we ordered was gluten free. The waitress was great and she even had the items split as we were sharing. The others we were with seemed to enjoy their dishes. My wife and I took a bite of the salmon and immediately thought that it was either old, frozen or was not of a high quality source. It tasted fishy as if it was somewhat old or definitely frozen. I inquired as to whether or not the fish was fresh and the waitress stated that it was farm raised and due to that, it was a higher cost. To that I thought that Costco sells farm raised salmon and it is not truly a higher cost. I never really understood if it was frozen or fresh fish. We ate the fish and were fine afterwards. But, we would not order that again. We both also felt that the salad with the house dressing was somewhat tasteless. So the waitress brought more and this was mixed well. When we got here a lady, not in line, walked right up to the front ahead of us and the hostess or someone helping the hostess immediately started helping her while we waited. All of this only took about 5 mins but still principle of it. And even when we were greeted the person helping the hostess didn't even say hello or welcome. Our waitress was efficient but not overly friendly or nice and kind of abrupt. She cut my dad off when he was just trying to ask a question. We got the cosmopolitan, key lime and vodka martinis. All the drinks were great. We got the bang bang shrimp and it was good. My dad and brother got this Ocean Mixed Grill where they each got a Caesar salad and house salad, the four fish were pre set and then two sides of potatoes as gratin and fried cauliflower. None of their food was good. The tuna was like cardboard, shrimp rubbery, mahi mahi dry and salmon was ok. The potatoes au gratin was diced potatoes and stale. The fried cauliflower was just ok. Their salads were very good. I got the lobster ravioli and it was basically cold. I asked to have it reheated and by the time I got it back everyone had already finished eating and I was full from eating off their plates. I asked to get it to go which they did and then we asked if they would do something on the check, the waitress's reply was "well obviously we were going to do that". I don't think that was the right tone given they were the ones who messed up. They did completely take the meal off the ticket. Just very disappointed in general. My wife and I were planning on dining there yesterday, it was relatively late considering village people prefer early reservations. However, when we arrived, there were dozens of people waiting outside, countless folks waiting inside, with no hope of eating before tomorrow! So we went to Metro Dinner, less than 1/2 mile west. Both of us had the Friday Fish and Chips special. Outstanding! Two large pieces of haddock fried fish, generous amount of fries, coleslaw and our choice of soup or salad for, get this, $12.99! We have not been to a Bonefish it about 5 years... there isn't one that is close to our home. While traveling we stopped were excited because we remembered how much we had loved our past experience. Rainslee, our server was delightful and attentive. She was by far the best part of our visit. We order two meals off the specials menu thinking they would be exceptional as they were featured. Additionally, we ordered the Bang Bang shrimp because we remembered it from before. Appetizer arrived as did my black berry sangria both of which were on point. We then made our meal selections. Rainslee said she loved the pineapple shrimp and risotto (she did warn that the table adjacent to us order it and said the shrimp were tough) but I'd just tasted the bang bang shrimp and they were cooked to perfection so I guessed maybe it was a fluke and proceeded with my order. My husband ordered the butterfish topped with spinach and crab in a lemon sauce. Fast forward to dinner and we were so excited when the food arrived. The presentation was lovely and the portion size was perfect. First bite was the much anticipated risotto... and then the CrUnCh. Completely undone and the coconut sauce was so tempting and calling to me but crunchy risotto is unpalatable. Moving on to the pineapple glazed grilled shrimp. Sauce amazing shrimp tough... overcooked. Rainslee did warn me but I thought, hoped it had just been a fluke. Not the case. On to my husband's meal. The sauce on the butterfish was delectable and the end of the fish was tasty but moving two bites from the end found a very, squishy raw fish inside...disgusting! Disappointed again. We wanted this meal to be what we'd remembered but we were so very displeased. I ate the tough shrimp and they brought Brussels sprout slaw as a replacement for the risotto which was good. The manager did come by and offer dessert and remove the butter fish from our check. I really expect more of this place when it comes to the food. As far as the bar area is concerned it's great ( big thumbs up ). The bartenders are great. The ambiance is great. But I've had a few dishes over the years from this particular Bonefish Grill and the food is just not as fresh as it needs to be. The fish tacos that I had.. grilled and not fried... were particularly lacking. The fish was tough. Chewy .. rubbery ... like it had not survived the defrosting process. I was hoping that the fish was fresher considering that there are a thousand lakes in The Villages area and fish is considered to be commonplace ... well ... not so in this case. My spouse and I wanted to go out for an upscale dinner near Christmas time and when I went to their website found that I could make a reservation online, it was assured that we could go there and enjoy without waiting in line for tables to open, since we were going to hopefully be seated at 4:30, nearing the busy dinner time. We walked in, noted our reservation with the hostess, while walking past patrons waiting for a table, and were immediately seated in a spacious booth and given time to peruse the menus. After placing out orders for beverages, our server brought bread and dipping oil, and took our order for the meals and off she went to instruct the chef to prepare our food. After an appropriate amount of time, a server delivered my soup, which was a good interlude while waiting for our meals to be completed and delivered by another server/runner. The food was presented well. My chicken Marsala with a side of mashed potatoes and a side of coleslaw was good, with a small amount of mushrooms and limited sauce. My wife's grouper with tomato spiced butter was very good, along with a side of risotto and other side of green beans. The food was tasty and adequate for the price and paced well. read more

The staff was exceptional and the restaurant was crowded (people in the Villages eat out a lot). But the food was at best so so. Corn crab soup was good but lukewarm warm. Appetizers shrimp and artichoke again room temperature. French fries cold... I had Grouper (2 small pieces) and it was so so at best. Wine was very good.
