I haven't been to this specific restaurant since 2011. Our experience was a bit odd. It started out with checking in with the host. No smile no welcome to Bonefish Grill. He just looked at me. I told him we have a reservation for 4 at 5pm. We arrived 30 minute early so I told him we will go to the bar until the other couple arrives. Then I said, do you do anything for anniversaries because the other couple are celebrating their anniversary. The host said we do a little cake. I'll mark it down. So we went to the bar and Eliza the bartender was wonderful. Great service from her. When it was time to go to our table, the same host took us and was going to seat us at a booth and fi said we cannot sit a booth because the other person is uses a walker and it would be hard for him to get in and out of a booth. The host said, "I'm only doing what your reservations said. You requested a booth." I said, "no i did not have an option for booth or table." Then he mouthed off again and said, "well you requested a booth." I asked him if there is a table he can sit us at. He hesitantly sat us at a table across from the booth. The place wasn't busy and there were several open tables. He walked away and raised his hands up in the air as if to say we were a pain. Then he walked by to go somewhere and as he walked by us he rolled his eyes. I have to tell you, the bar tended, Eliza and our server Christina was great but this host needs an attitude check. He's a tall man a little overweight and looks like he needed to shave. I haven't been at this particular reservation for 13 years and I don't know that I would go back again. I would have given this a 5 star but because of that host I can only give this a 3 star. I hope the manager and or owner sees this and tell that host, he needs to adjust his attitude. I look for service when I go out as I used to be a VP of a bank prior to retiring and my department was in service. This review will also be on Yelp. This is how irritated I am with that host. By the way, we never got the piece of cake he said they served to celebrate my sister in law and her husband's anniversary. I considered being a host providing service as well. We went to this location on Veterans Day and were so excited to get a free order of bang bang shrimp!! But the best part of our visit was our server, Crystal. I miss the old Bonefish! What was once a four to five star dining experience has fallen to a one to two star "meh." We took grandma there for her birthday, wanting to treat her to a special dinner and great experience. What we endured was an inattentive server with dirty pants and a smelly shirt and restrooms that were filthy. None of which helped with the experience. It's is a good thing that the food was decent, and Grandma is tolerant. I don't think I'll be taking my family back there anytime soon - I don't mind paying $217.10 for a meal for four, but the inattention to the customers and untidy wait staff and dirty bathrooms can be bested by many other restaurants in the vicinity! Great experience tonight at Bonefish in The Villages. We made a reservation, just in case, for 530p. The specials menu has a great Coral Reef punch that I loved (Bacardi, Malibu, pineapple / orange juice, etc.) and a special grouper with spinach&blue cheese that my grandma enjoyed. The bang bang shrimp is always a favorite! And I ordered a chicken Caesar salad & aside of bacon mac&cheese. Really, no complaints here. my father and I, my husband and stepmother all atehere on Wednesday. The service was wonderful. I wish I could remember that waitresses name, but she is by far the best waitress that we have ever had there. My stepmother ordered sangria for the table. This was my first taste of sangria. Tried their winter cosmo, excellent, warning though the cranberries floating in the drink are really tart. My crab cake seemed like it was mostly crab which was excellent. My steak was cooked perfectly. The chilean sea bass my husband had was amazing. Wonderfully warm bread came with pesto/oil, yum yum. My husband said his margarita was ok, not great but that's always a crap shoot anywhere. And as always the Bang Bang shrimp never disappoints!! Pricy but good food. read more

From Maryland. Eaten lots of crab cakes. Tried this establishment's MD style crab cakes. Very disappointing. Cakes had the consistency of mashed potatoes. Pieces of crab were drowning in mayonnaise. Three tries to get hot Bang Bang Shrimp. 3rd try, hot but lacking any spice. 1/2 hour wait was okay, but very slow service wasn't. Nor was the room temp bread that we had to wait for because it was "in the oven." This Bonefish does not offer the ambiance, service or food of upscale restaurants, but charges like them. Entrees we're ok but choosing premium sides added $16 to each couples bill ($4 each side-came with no warning). Bottom line, definitely not worth the $100+ per couple with no salads or desserts. My parents took us out to dinner here while we were visiting them in the Villages, and apart from the restaurant being very crowded (pre-COVID), I have no complaints. Everything I ate was delicious - we started with the Bang Bang Shrimp (oh my goodness...) and then I had the Pecan Parmesan-Crusted Rainbow Trout - So SO good. My mouth is salivating just thinking about it. The service was friendly too and they were gracious with the kids in our party. My wife and I were surprised to see Bonefish was open on sunday during brunch, after the meal, I was kicking myself for going in and dining there. We wondered if they had brunch options and were pleasantly surprised by the descriptions. Caprese frittata? crab and fontina cheese frittata? yes please. what came out? i should have taken pictures. looked ok, though the cheese was burnt. underneath the crust of burnt cheese was cold scrambled egg, at least it cooled off the cheese enough for a bite. Taste, burnt cheese over cold scrambled egg. There may have been a teaspoon of crab. shredded and chopped so finely, i am pretty certain was krab. the "home fries" were day old french fries chopped and refried so they were hard and inedible. bacon, meh. my wife's caprese had two grape tomatoes sliced in half, scorched. When i told the server it was possibly the worst thing i have partially eaten this year. she shrugged, said "yea, i know, it's new". completed the transaction at our table and walked away. No apology, no empathy, no, we will do better or i will talk to the manager. nothing. the two frittatas with one mimosa was $48 including tax. Thanks for the lesson Bonefish. Mom loves it here. So do my Aunties. I like it here. It's not a 5-star. The bar service is always great, and most of the time the bartenders are super friendly, bubbly and helpful. Unless I am with other people I sit at the bar, always...everywhere. I even spent my birthday at the bar and had a blast. Great service, fun crowd and I ended up with a really nice birthday buzz! Recently came with the ladies and celebrated my Auntie's birthday at a bar table. Wendy was our server and she was awesome. My companions were wondering about the in-between visit wait time, but I knew that she was all over the place because of the time of day. (3 p.m.) Turns out, she had tables in the bar and on the patio and everywhere in-between. So, even though we had to ask the bartender for butter, the lovely and professional Wendy was killing it! She handled all of our special requests with patience and covered the floor with ease. She is definitely a keeper! My only issue with Bonefish is always the food. It has nothing to do with the preparation. It's the menu itself. For example, when you read "Potsticker" on the appetizer menu, it says "pan-seared with crispy onions and soy sauce." It sounded crispy but came with a ton of unexpected toppings and drowning in sauce. The special Kung Pao Shrimp did not specify spicy, and so on. I feel that the descriptions don't often match the taste and am often left disappointed. Still, it's a great go-to place, spotless, beautifully decorated and inviting. We had dinner reservations for 5/7/24 at 6:00 for table of two. We arrived at 6:50 and were told there would be a short wait for a table. Other people who came without reservations were given a 45 minute wait time. Didn't get seated till 6:15 which was OK. We wanted to take advantage of wine price break till 6:30. Waitress only came to table at 6:30 but did advise that we would get price advantage and we gave wine order. She did not take dinner order. Did NOT receive wine and at 6:45 we felt the service was terrible and left the restaurant. Passed the service deck and explained our reason for leaving SERVICE. Being to this restaurant often for the seven years we've been here and this left us very unhappy. While waiting noticed several tables weren't being cleared for other customers on a timely basis. Probably will not come back for a very long time or ever again as service and attitude has changed greatly in the Villages restaurant. read more

Even thou we waited a long time the service was fantastic. The food came out in a timely manner. The waitress Paige was pleasant and knowledgeable about the food items offered. When I ordered online, I was asked if I wanted curbside service or pick up inside the restaurant. I chose curbside. When we showed up? The sign was marked "curbside pickup inside." Ah, ok. Annoyed it was misleading, but whatever. Hubs pulled away as I checked the bag and we weren't given the bread I ordered. I hear a lot about restaurants and small businesses having a hard time staying afloat. But apparently not this place if they have a misleading website and can't correctly fill an order. That's the last time I tip 20% on $70 worth of takeout. I get you should dig through your order and look through every container in your order every time, but seriously? You have one job and food gets cold fast. Plus, I'm a DoorDasher when I travel for work and 2 or 3 out of 120 orders this year have been incorrect. None of them from a place that charges prices like Bonefish. Bonefish in the Villages is "upscale" dining with substandard service. read more

The food is outstanding but if you're familiar with Bonefish, then you already know this. Hubby had the pork chop last time and this time the fish n chips. We have both really enjoyed eating here because of the social distanced dining and patio dining during Covid and most of all the extra effort the staff goes to, sanitizing, making you feel safe. Even masked, they stand at a distance and reaching to hand food to you instead of standing in your space. Great job all the way around. read more

The food was below average. We had shrimp tacos and a grilled scallop and shrimp skewer. All of the seafood was way overcooked. The scallops were completely uneatable. The scallops were not scallops but stamped from stingray meat in my opinion, and they smelled like rotten fish. We both had house salads with a small glass of wine and a bottle of beer plus an appetizer. We were also charged $3.78 for ice tea we never ordered. With a tip the total was over $100. No one asked how the food was. The service was average and the waitress was friendly. One of the specials was Catch of the day - Fresh Haddock, this is a cold water fish not in any waters with in 1000 miles of Florida. We will not be returning to this establishment. read more

Today 11/14/22 decided to go to dinner. Go to this location at least once every 3-4 weeks. Good food, clean, usually a good dining experience. Sat in booth in the bar area. Waiter was excellent, took drink orders, great!! I ordered their specialty "Imperial Cod". Was in the mood for some nice fish. Not particularly cheap $23.90 but sounded good. The server advised me that there were some issues being worked out in the kitchen so please be patient. (Up front and honest). The cod was bland with little taste, broccoli was cremated, and jasmine rice was plain old white rice with no seasoning as you would get in a Chinese restaurant. Too bad guys but it just didn't cut it for me, I advised the server, and he was upset and offered compensation but no thanks I learned what not to order at Bonefish. The chef really screwed this dish up. read more
