    Fresh Carrot Juice

So happy that Bonjuk opened closer to my home. My kids and I enjoyed this health & tasty Korean porridge. This location also sells fresh carrot juice. It's pure goodness!

    Chicken porridge/beef veggies porridge

I always get porridge from this place when I'm feeling a bit off. It's super tasty, clean, and you can really tell they put care into it. Reminds me of the ones I used to have in Korea--same great flavor. Last time I went, they had a new carrot juice that they make fresh every day. I'm not usually a fan (got kind of a picky, kid-like palate), but I gave it a shot--and I actually really liked it! It was fresh, mildly sweet, and I drank the whole thing so fast. Even my husband, who usually skips my homemade versions, enjoyed it. We're definitely getting it again next time!

Been to two locations, Juk is good. Service pleasant. Acceptable setup for eating in but I do takeout.

One of my favorite dishes was the soy-marinated salmon. The salmon was incredibly fresh, buttery, and packed with flavor. Paired with rice and seaweed, it was easily one of the highlights of the meal. We also ordered the pork dishes and tteokbokki, and everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were bold, comforting, and perfect for sharing with friends. The atmosphere is what makes this place even more special. The retro Korean décor, neon lights, and lively energy create the perfect late-night hangout spot. Whether you're grabbing dinner, drinks, or just catching up with friends, the ambiance is fun, cozy, and full of personality. The service was friendly and attentive throughout the night, and the food came out quickly despite how busy the restaurant was. If you're looking for great Korean comfort food, a chill atmosphere, and a unique dining experience in Orange County, Misoolkwan OC is definitely worth a visit. I'll absolutely be coming back for the soy-marinated salmon and tteokbokki!

You need to add your own salt which is provided on the table. It's a simple and filling soup. The Galbi Tang is flavorful with lots of meat. You also add your own salt. This is one of my go to "sick dishes" as it's very comforting. Their Yuk Gae Jang is SO GOOD. It's definitely my favorite here. It's the perfect amount of spice. It's filled with meat, noodles, and veggies. The flavor of the broth itself is so yummy and when rice is added, one bowl can be stretched to three full meals. I had this dish last week and I actually can't stop thinking about it. Overall everything here has been delicious and the portions are very generous. The banchan includes 3 dishes: radish kimchi, kimchi, and mustard greens kimchi. All have fish sauce. Service 10/10 Servers are quick, efficient, and attentive. They brought extra bowls and without being asked, brought serving spoons and scissors to cut the noodles with. I have a fish/seafood allergy and I appreciate them taking it seriously and letting me know which foods they recommended I stay away from although they did not know for certain. I wish they knew which dishes had fish/seafood so I knew for sure what was allergy safe, but I understand that it's impossible to know the ingredients of every dish. Ambiance 8/10 I've been coming here since the pandemic days when they had outdoor seating and it's always very neat, clean, and pretty quiet as well. There is plenty of parking and lots of other dessert, drink, and food places nearby. Even though it's almost 90 degrees outside, I've been craving their Yuk Gae Jang and can't wait till my next visit!

The interior is clean, newly built, and has a modern Korean hanok-style look. The servers were also friendly both times, so I didn't have any issues with the service or atmosphere. Unfortunately, the main problem for me was the food. I've eaten at the LA location before and never really thought the food tasted bad there, but at this Buena Park location, both visits gave me the impression that the food didn't taste as fresh as it should. On my most recent visit, I ordered the soondae gukbap, and the soondae had an unpleasant off smell and didn't taste very fresh. It almost tasted like it had been sitting for a while. On my first visit, I tried the regular pork gukbap, and the pork flavor was also stronger than I personally prefer. I do tend to like cleaner-tasting gukbap, but this stood out to me because I don't remember having the same issue at the LA location. After the first visit, I thought maybe it was just an off day since the restaurant was still new. But after having a similar impression on my second visit, I'm not sure if this location is consistent yet. The space is nice and the service was good, but for a gukbap restaurant, the food has to be the main reason to come back. Based on my two visits, this location was disappointing for me.

But since I moved out of LA, it's so inconvenient to get to. Enter Kyung Bok Kung -- what a find. I can get a fine dining korean bbq experience conveniently. I've been here a number of times, and this review reflects the few times I've been there. It's become the goto spot to take people from out of town who are visiting and want a Kbbq experience. Things I immediately noticed - lots of white and grey teslas in the parking lot during lunch - you know what that means? Golf Koreans. Yup. Go inside and you'll see incredibly well dressed older retired people with their buddies chatting up in private cubicles. Beautiful decor. It's like the background setting of a korean drama where there's a close-up of the guy and the girl - they're about to say something really serious to each other. The camera does a wide angle shot of them - and this is the restaurant it's shot in. Price points - this place isn't cheap, but they have incredibly good deals on a weekday lunch (cold noodles and meat set). Their dinner set course meals are priced around what you would expect from a quality steak house. This place is not as pricey as AB steak or Cote, but you're getting just as quality. Food - I've had the lunch set meals, the bbq grilled course, and ordered à la carte. One thing is for sure - they don't miss. I never had a 9 budda plate until I came here, but apparently it's like a thing that royals ate during the monarchy days. It was like a korean vegetarian taco. Very intricate (and slightly annoying) to put together but delicious - and a great test of your chopstick skills. Their braised beef (galbijjim) from their lunch set intersects savory, sweet, and tenderness in a way that only Korean grandmas do. I'm not a huge fan of Wagyu beef (just too rich and can never feel after eating it), but I have never felt that way coming out of here. Go here at night if you want to impress someone or celebrate something. Go here during lunch if you want a fantastic meal and want to see what the best korean food can taste like but don't want to break the bank.

The different meats all had their own qualities and textures that made it feel unique and not the same piece of Wagyu over and over again. I would dock half a star for the banchan and starter dishes, but the meat made up for it. It's not that the other dishes were bad, just not great. It's also nice that they don't charge for a private room, and had plenty of high chairs for our group. However they do ask that you order set menus when reserving the private area. I just sent them a text and we were able to reserve a few days ahead. You're definitely paying for a nicer setting, not as crowded or smokey, and higher quality meats, but it's a nice break from the many AYCE kbbq in the area.
