There are so many mani/pedi places on Main Street it can be very hard to decide on one. I wanted a simple, mani/pedi to tidy my cuticles and make sure my finger and toe nails were all uniform and nicely polished for my birthday. Decided to try Toe Heaven and was very happy with the results. They have an array of colors from quality name brand (traditional) polishes (and they appeared to be 'thick' and no thinned out with acetone). They do a neat and efficient job and didn't try to upsell me a million different callous creams and assorted other extras. It was calm and seemed clean; however, I didn't notice if the metal utensils were sterilized (I hope so) and the emery boards were previously used, which doesn't really bother me, but it could disturb other patrons. I really loved my first visit here. i was shocked at the price and getting full mani pedi with a good massage. i have went two times sense the second time horrible the nails look very bad, i thought id try again since the first time was so good. she changed the color i wanted after telling her i didn't want that multiple times & said that it was the same. it wasnt it was glitter & i wanted the chrome. i gave up after telling her no 4 times and she kept saying it was the same it wasn't it was gel and i didn't know. that ended up being the worst decision after paying $81 for a full set one nail already falling off 2 days after and mind you they look atrocious. there's a hair in the pinky nail & she dropped one of the tools and proceeded to continue using it :) the experience with the lady also wasn't very pleasant i felt like she was making fun of my nails i pick a lot so they aren't very pretty, when she noticed she laugh at me and then turned and said something to the other lady. honestly maybe i'm being dramatic but idk not a fun time and $81 for the worst nails blows my mind. read more

This place was recommended to me by my friend Melody Joy I have not been here in quite a while. And normally I get a mani-pedi but this time I came in for something very simple. It's harder for me to cut my own toenails correctly so I came in for that. They charged $10 to do it which was fine. The woman that did it was perfect She cut them just right and very gently she took good care of me. She washed my feet first and then took off my polish and then ground down the little places where the polish had left marks. Then she carefully cut my toenails with a clipper and it's a perfect job. Usually I have to tell somebody to keep cutting them shorter and yet she did this with great skill and had them perfect the first time. Then she filed the edges just a little and scrubbed my toes and dried them and I was out of there. It was perfect. They didn't make me feel bad because I came in for a small service they were great and I would go back again. I gave her a good tip because she really did a wonderful job. They do great jobs on everything but this just made me really happy. read more

Feel bad leaving a low review, but I won't be coming back. I usually go to a place down the street, but they were booked for the day so thought I'd try somewhere new. The staff were all very nice and friendly. They took me in immediately. I asked for a dip powder removal and regular mani. The lady worked very quickly, the shaver went over my cuticles a couple time. I wasn't injured, it was just briefly painful and off putting. She also didn't even out my nails, so you can see indents after she did the regular mani. The thing that really grossed me out though was that they don't sanitize the tools between patrons. They didn't seem that clean when she used it on me, but my suspicions were confirmed when she wheeled the nail cart over to the next patron and used the tools on her while I was waiting for my nails to dry. She was also rough pushing back and cutting my cuticles, so I'm really hoping I don't get an infection. read more

Most affordable mani pedi in LA! So far this is the most affordable salon I've found for mani pedis in Los Angeles, followed by Pinkie's which is also Santa Monica, and French's Nail in Manhattan Beach. But Toe Heaven is my favourite because it's beautifully laid out, and they're (usually) very friendly! They do a very nice job. My one complaint is when they try to up-sell you on a service and act disappointed when you say no; I think that's poor business and salesmanship. But they make up for it in other ways! Last I was here, it was only $35 for a manicure pedicure. In this day and age, we really need to vote with our wallets and only pay for services we find worth it. The prices in LA are exorbitant right now, so I will only ever suggest places I find that meet those standards of competitive pricing with quality service. read more

I can't say I am an expert in manicures or pedicures, but every once in awhile it's nice to treat yourself and the ladies at Toe Heaven always treat me well. As a guy I'm not here to get fancy paint or treatments, but I always leave here with super nice looking hands and feet, which have gotten quite a few compliments from the ladies in my life. The massages during the services are great and Katherine and her crew are always super friendly. Only one time did I have to wait for an appointment and it was only a few minutes. Call ahead if you don't want to risk it, but I don't think wait time is worthy of a one star review like some people dish out on here. I also find it to be ike if the cleaner spots on Main. I think a lot of the "it's dirty" comments are coming from angry Karen's (who do like to stare awkwardly with scowls on their faces when a straight man gets his nails did). Mind your own business! I know there's a lot of nail salons one can choose from particularly on Main Street but I have to say one of the reasons why I love coming here (and have remained loyal over the last 3yrs) is the sense of community you feel when you step inside. The Katharine Tan, the owner is one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet. You can go a whole year without a mani/pedi (thanks pandemic) and when you come back fully masked and all she somehow still remembers you. The nail techs that have stuck it out with her are all super nice as well and do a wonderful job. I'm very particular about how I like my nails and edges filed and they took the time to understand rather than blow past it as some other salons have in the past. I typically get a gel mani and regular pedi and they have one tech work on each so I can be in and out in under an hour. If you're not in a rush make sure to add a few min of a foot and neck massage. Your body will thank you. Even though I no longer live in Santa Monica, I make a point to continue making this MY nail salon. Now, go reward yourself with a WHOL-istic experience at Toe Heaven Spa. I feel weird leaving anything other than 5 stars for a small business, but here's my honest review: I went in for a walk-in and they were able to take me right away. The staff was nice enough and the salon was clean, comfortable Full disclosure - I'm new to getting my nails done consistently. The cheapest pedicure they offer is $40 and a gel manicure is $40. So it was $80 for a regular pedicure and gel manicure. This seems absolutely insane to me. After tip I spent almost $100. My gel started chipping after about a week. Mind you, I'm on vacation and have been a little more rough with my hands than usual, but I'm a little disappointed that it didn't last longer. Overall, I would come back if I'm in a bind and need somewhere I can rely on at the last minute. But I can't justify the price. Especially when my gel didn't last. read more

I used to love this place. Had been going for years. But the last several times I've gone I've been disappointed. Quality has gone down. Service has gone down. They used to be meticulous and do such great gel manicures. Lately it's been sloppy. They also used to give the best foot massages with pedicures and I'd always pay to extend the massages (it was so worth it!) But the last 5+ times I've gone the foot massages have been not relaxing at all, careless strokes even feeling painful nails accidentally dig into my feet. Most of the staff is lovely.
