I've been coming to this nail salon for over 12 years, so I was really disappointed by my experience today. It was an extremely hot day, and I came in asking for a small cup of water for my dog because she was overheating. They refused. I was about to spend around $80 on services, yet they wouldn't even provide a cup of water for a dog in the heat. That lack of compassion was shocking and very disappointing. First I want to say, that the women who do nails are lovely. Unfortunately I had a bad experience with the scheduler. Please know that if you cancel an appointment a couple hours before the appointment, they will discriminate against you in the future. For example, last week I had scheduled an appointment and when I realized I wouldn't be able to make it, I walked in a few hours before to see if they could take me. They said no, and I apologized but would have to cancel. I rescheduled for this week and arrived to my appointment 5min before the scheduled appointment time. Upon arriving the receptionist said, "I'm sorry we called to confirm and texted you but you didn't answer so we gave away your appointment". I let her know I hadn't received anything thinking it might have been the day before. When I looked at my phone, I saw that she had called and texted 25 minutes BEFORE the appointment. I was showering and then driving to appointment - rushing and not looking at my phone so as not to be late. Furthermore, I showed up early and the slot had already been given away. The receptionist told me, "you had previously cancelled so I didn't know if you were coming and you didn't confirm when we called". So while the women who do the nails are lovely, the handling of clients by reception/scheduling person is not only unprofessional, but worse yet, disrespectful. Just know to watch your phone 30 min before the appointment if you don't want it to be cancelled on you. read more

I made an appointment for a regular pedicure and only waited maybe 20ish minutes to get seated. Everyone was nice and accommodating. I wanted to layer two colors and Tracy was really nice about showing me what my options were. Overall a good experience. I really like the results! I'm giving a three because of the cleanliness of the establishment . Also the woman whom I think is the owner had a good attitude and so did the woman who finished my pedicure. Ok first let's start with parking . Well come on it's SAnta Monica guys. There's a few meter parking spaces out front . I've come twice with a girlfriend of mine and she seems to always find parking. However we work about 3 block away so this around 11am . First tome I came with her I got nothing done. I just came to keep her company . Tuesday comes and my girlfriend ask me to come along again and she suggested we get pedicures. I say sure why not the feet need some love lol. I usually at the nail salon every 2-3 weeks especially. I usually go near my home but sometimes withh ugh my schedule it gets hard whatever I'm babbling now. We get there the lady that will be doing my pedicure come off as pleasant and what not. I initial told her when she asked I didn't not want to cut down my toenails just file please. She replied ok. She took out a thin nail file and she's hardly filing and she's not going along the sides either. Then she starts to cut my nails with the clipper . My girlfriend and I looked at each other at the same time in confusion as she had heard my request earlier. I said excuse I actually didn't want my nails cute remember very polite . And it seems she gets irritated and she starts clipping my other nails again nOt rudely I said I'm sorry again I don't want them clipped if you could just file them and on the sides as well please. AnothEr woman starts telling her how she needs to do it once again she gets agitated and I'm just all confused like what the heck. A young lady steps in and she comes to finish the job. The other woman eventually walked away upset and never returned. I was glad the other young lady stepped in however would I return probably not. My friend kept apologizing which it wasn't her fault but she recommended the place. If I'm pasting for the service and I always tip I want it they way I requested. And I didn't ask for anything crazy just a proper filing that's all. Also the polish seemed a bit old. But thank to the young lady that finished the job. Also that day I had closed toe shoes and I asked for the disposal foam like sandals but they told me they ran out but that I could buy some flip-flops for four dollars no thanks I'm sure I could find some slippers in my car.I don't like giving bad reviews but I'm Honest about my experiences read more

Came in , was rushed through my manicure because a lady came in with a chipped nail they had to fix. I left with bloody cuticles and a bad gel polish job. Got home with my fingers feeling itchy and sore, went to the Dr and found out i got an infection from the cuts the woman had done on my cuticles with most probably dirty tools. I spent $55 on a gel manicure and only got a nightmare to deal with. Don't go to this place, there's a better nail salon around the corner on Broadway next to the Karate place. read more

I was in need of a pre-girl's out of town weekend manipedi & underarm waxer; this place was around the corner from my office. Clean, modern, well lit and across the way from Von's & Swingers. I had a great, deep clean manicure and pedicure. Both nail technicians did an excellent job and my polish dries naturally and relatively hard after 2 coats. I usually like 3, but I was in a hurry, and I hate when the polish gets wrinkled after touching something when it's not totally dry. They have a great selection of polishes: Essie, OPI, and a few others that are 7-free. They take credit card. Parking can be tough, it's Santa Monica. Meters or die. ‍ read more

This has become my regular nail place since I moved to Santa Monica in August! I tried out a few others that had good reviews on yelp in the area, but none had a better Gel Manicure than Lily's. I'm pretty picky when it comes to how long Gel Maicure's last and mine last a good three weeks every time. And I don't feel like I'm damaging them as much as other salons. When you go in to have the gel removed they will soak your nails in Acetone over warm water and cover your hands with a towel. No smell or discomfort! A Gel Manicure and Pedicure is about $55 but worth the splurge! I prefer going on Sunday mornings because it's less busy and parking is free on the street.
