Stacy J was amazing. She gave us the ultimate customer experience while doing 10 other things. Food also incredibly delicious. The atmosphere was clean and friendly!!!!!

Simply good bbq! I like to keep it simple when I got to Bono's- with a pulled pork sandwich. This visit I mixed it up a bit and got the messy pig which is a pulled pork sandwich (no sauce) plus Cole slaw. It comes on a big bun instead of the sliced white bread that the sandwich normally comes on. The 1949 sauce is my favorite. It's not spicy at all and has a nice mustard note. I enjoyed the addition of the cole slaw on the sandwich. My mom and I were able to get a 2 for 25 deal which included two entrees (each had to be under about 12 dollars) and two banana puddings. The entrees that we got came with 1 side each so she had the baked beans and I enjoyed the hot & crispy fried okra with a little ranch dressing.

Had dinner a few nights ago at this location and ordered the 3 meat combo (2 Brisket 1 Pork) for $18.99 which was quite tasty but one of the briskets was a bit dry on the end. Came with baked beans and macaroni for the sides and they were alright, just a bit mushy on the Mac. Ordered crunchy, friend Okra too. Yummy! Thank you Kat, our attentive server and was very polite and welcoming during our visit.

First time back after the fire and this bonos was rebuilt. A bit smaller than the previous one but very nice. Had the 2 meat combo small or lunch portion. Pulled pork and Turkey. Sides were Brunswick stew and collard greens and garlic toast. Tried it with the spicy and hot bbq sauce. Pretty good...maybe a bit more for the price. Still good though. Like the new building and how it was laid out

Staying at a nearby hotel we walked up for a late supper. Sat at the bar. Greeted immediately and served our drinks quickly. As we sipped we noticed the decor was nice and very bbq-e. They have a drive thro which is pretty cool. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Ordered our food and waited for maybe ten minutes.... Not very long. I had the pork platter with Mac and Brunswick stew. He had the 3 meat platter of pork, brisket and sausage plus a corn on the cob and beans. Both came with a slice of buttered bread. The food was wonderful. The only minor thing was the sides were in the cool side as far as temperature. But that could have been because it was 8:30 and they close at 9. We didn't even mention it because everything was still great. The staff were super friendly. The place was clean including the bathrooms. The patrons seemed pleased with their food and service. All in all it was a great pick for supper that night and we definitely recommend them. We would return if we stay in the area again.

The bbq turkey is amazing! It's the one thing I keep coming back for. Never had better bbq turkey than here.

First trip to the renovated Bono's and I sat outside on the patio. Food was as good as ever. The fried okra was fresh and hot. The pulled pork and brisket were both fresh as were the beans and collards. The half and half tea was just right without being too sugary. If you're worried about COVID, the patio tables are spaced apart so you'll be fine. Service was very friendly as usual. I'll be back here again when I'm back in town.

The food and flavor of the food is always good, service is always decent and the place is casual dining. My only issue is that the food is hit or miss when it comes to the temperature. Ninety percent of the time the food is lukewarm to cold with exception of the corn. Sometimes even that is over cooked. Over all I would give them a 6/10.

    Amazing food

Absolute amazing food our way or was extremely friendly even offered a drink to go and containers to go

We came in on a Wednesday evening. We asked about the menu and were told at the counter that it was Wing Wednesday and the wings were $1 each. Well how could we not add those onto our order. We ordered a Burnt Ends platter with mac and cheese, and corn nuggets, a Brisket Platter with corn nuggets and beans. We also ordered a large mac for my son and a side of lean brisket. For the wings we ordered the Cajun ranch. Our food started coming out in about 5 minutes. Firstly, I was shocked at the wings. I love wings, but they aren't something I usually order often as I find them just OK. There are only a couple places that I visit specifically for wings. Well, let me tell you, I would make a visit back just for these wings. OMG, the Cajun ranch was simply amazing, really addictive. They were my favorite item. We devoured them. The burnt ends were very good. I appreciate they are big chunks of brisket with no pull pork filler. The flavor was amazing as well and the bits of fat melted in our mouth. The corn nuggets were fine and the Mac N Cheese was quite tasty. We enjoyed the meal so much, were were trying to figure out somewhere for a family lunch the next Sunday and came back again. This time my sister, son and I brought my dad. We of course ordered more wings and burnt ends and brisket with lots of Mac N Cheese. The food really is something special. The wings are absolutely wonderful and the burnt ends are a hit. This is definitely one of my new favorite restaurants and will always be on my list of visits to enjoy when I come back to Jax.

The service was steady and I came in around 5ish so it didn't pick up til after I arrived. The staff were nice and polite. It was quiet but had several tables occupied. The chicken was moist and dipped with the spicy bbq enhanced the flavor. All sides were seasoned well especially the green beans and collard greens. Cornbread was good, just note it does have jalapeños. I would say the only feedback was the brisket appeared to be more lean than moist. When we ordered the moist brisket a few weeks ago, it was a lot more marbled, looser and fattier than what we received in this order which was less marbled with leaner cuts. So it appears the staff may had gave the lean than the moist cut... Other than that, everything was good, but perhaps the staff could have additional guidance in brisket cut differences.

Now, I'm no connoisseur, I am not from an elite BBQ region and I know that Jacksonville is not a BBQ go to area. But that said, I tried a few places in the region and 4 Rivers is the only spot I'd repeat visit. Service is friendly and prompt, and they were helpful with putting me on their best items. The brisket was moist, tender and flavorful. The ribs? To die for. Best I've had in Florida. The burnt ends are a combination of brisket and pork, which compliments one another nicely. I loved the beans! The corn was the only thing I found lacking, tasted too much like canned corn for my taste. Their nice seating area is big and welcoming and they have numerous sauces for you. We really enjoyed the blueberry bbq over by the fountain drinks. It went well with the ribs! Overall, must visit for Jax! Thanks guys! See you soon!

The food is outstanding, the drinks are great, and the service is always quick, friendly, and attentive. We started with the Fritos Pie and added pulled pork--such a great decision! It made an already delicious appetizer even better. For our entrée, we shared the Texas "Trinity" (the "give me all the meats" option), which comes with ribs, sausage, and brisket. The ribs were unbelievable--fall-off-the-bone tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The sausage comes in two varieties: regular and cheddar jalapeño. The cheddar jalapeño has a nice kick without being overpowering and was absolutely worth trying. On this visit, we upgraded our sides to two fresh salads, but during our first visit we had the baked beans and coleslaw, and they were both fantastic. Honestly, everything we've tried has been delicious. If you're spending the day at Neptune Beach and need a break from seafood, ABBQ is a must-visit. I keep trying to give them another chance, so when they invited me to make a reservation for the World Cup game tonight, I took the bait. I should have gone to Mojo's or Strings instead! I stopped ordering a brisket sandwich long ago because the buns were always hard and stale. Lately, I've been going with the two meat plate because the sides are usually very good, especially the potato salad and cowboy baked beans. The turkey is usually pretty good as are the ribs, but the brisket is always pathetic, especially for a guy from Texas looking for perfection. To be fair to the management, the bar and atmosphere never fails to impress me, but when I am missing good old fashioned Texas barbecue brisket, I will be going somewhere else that knows what they are doing. Come on y'all... My summary: over rated, over priced, and over done. Low and slow is the barbecue brisket mantra, but the pit master needs to go back to Texas for a refresher course in Austin, in my humble opinion!!!
