Trying to find the best pizza and wings in the greater Saint Louis area and I'm only reviewing pizza with sausage as the topping. Wings: 7.2 flavorful and cooked right but not the best I've had. But I'd still order them again. Pizza: 7.0 One corner had sausage but also peperoni so I'm rating based on that. It's still a good pizza but again not the greatest. If I'm in the area and close by I'd still come back here to have pizza again. they didn't understand my request of hald sausage half supreme. They instead removed the sausage from one half of the supreme.

Inside was a spacious bar with tons of tvs to watch the games. I ordered out and the pizza was ready right when it was supposed to be. The pizza was super cheesy and flavorful. It was pretty greasy, next time I would not get pepperoni to decrease the grease.

I heard this place has one of the best Chicago deep dish pizza in the area so I had to check them out. I will have to say their deep dish was a solid strong choice. The service was not bad but keep in mind there is limited seating space in the dining area unless you go to their bar area to eat. However, on a comfortable weather day you could sit on the patio. This is a definite recommend if you like the deep dish style but keep in mind there is only one size (10in) but for the price point you could buy more. I also had the house salad and it was good too, and it appears they may make their own house dressing which my wife enjoyed. This feels like a good spot to go to if you could take off early to eat and watch a Cardinals game. The sport memorabilia was cool and even noticed an old sign from Sportsman's Park in the dining area.

It's been years since we've been to Bono's and I can say I'm so glad we went back! On one side was a small little eating area with a few booths where a family can go in and eat and on the other side is a bar. We ate on the bar side. The bartender was very friendly and made a great jolly rancher shot for us. We ordered the Bono's special pizza and it was really good. The crust was thin and crispy and the toppings were flavorful. We decided to try the tavern wings (the sauce is a mix of hot sauce and bbq sauce) and they were yummy! I'm a bit picky about my wings, I prefer crispy and not slimy and these were perfectly crispy. This is definitely a spot we will be adding to our rotation to frequent more often.

Very good pizza and pasta choices. Tuesday pizza special is worth the drive. Staff was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. We will return!

I happened upon Bono's a few months back and I now believe that it is the best deep dish pizza in South City. The service is very friendly.

Ask the Community - Bono's Pizzeria

If you had to pick one, what's the best crust type?

    New York is my favorite!

Is the ambience ok for children? Do they offer provel?

Yes, it would be fine for kids. Two rooms that share an entry way, one is the dining room and the other is the bar. I assume in the evenings the bar is a lively place. I dont know about the provel. The chicago style I had was wonderful.

    What is the Spinjunie pizza?

The spinjunie is made on a hand tossed crust with melted cheese on crust, then topped with a tomato filet sauce and then your choice of toppings, one thing though there is a little anchovy kick to, you can do it with or without

I was taught by brother that you should book your first dinner reservation as after flying all day, one is tired, and not able to make good decisions...hence eating at a TGI Fridays in New Orleans on our first night. The only thing that tricked us was the Toasted Ravioli. It has meat in it, and my wife is vegetarian. The Arancini was terrific and the table bread was also quite tasty. My wife had the Manicotti and I had the Chicken Lemonata. So great. The bottle of the house Gitto's Red was the perfect wine as well. Although claiming to have invented the toasted ravs, really did not enjoy them. Caprese salad was good for this time of year- early June. My go to meal to rate Italian restaurants is chicken Marsala, and was unfortunately the worst. Chicken was overcooked, rather tasteless and hard to cut. Very little sauce, but good mushrooms. Side of red pasta helped but was too sweet.

Being from the Bay Area in California, I had never heard of toasted ravioli so I added it to my itinerary. I found this place on Yelp and saw that Guy Fieri (another Bay Area native) had featured it on his show so I settled on Anthonino's. I walked over from the Botanical Garden on a Friday afternoon around 12pm so that I could get a better feel of the streets, locals, surrounding shops, and the Hill neighborhood. The area was very calm, clean, safe and had a sense of pride. I enjoyed the sights and sounds throughout the streets and by the time I arrived at the front door, I was super excited to eat. I was seated quickly at the bar and given a menu and water. The bar staff were friendly and pleasant to talk to and also took my order within a few minutes. The restaurant quickly filled up behind me and it was a lively environment. I really appreciated that the TVs had sports shows on (huge sports fan and was in town to visit Busch Stadium) so it gives you something to look at. I ordered the toasted ravioli and a tiramisu. As a solo traveler, I have to limit how much I can order so this was the perfect amount for me. The food was amazing and I wished that I could have tried more plates. The ravioli had great flavors and texture and the tiramisu was so creamy and fresh. I would definitely return if the opportunity presented itself.
